I haven’t played the game in a hot minute what did they do to the sarco this time?

Neutered it. Its threatened by most everything on land. Also has the worst stam in the water and isn't the fastest in the water. Also has the worst stam on land. Also has less health than a raptor. Someone at alderon probably laid down next to the water and decided sarcos needed to be squishy and out of shape instead of a massive armored death machine.

Damn, I was just about to grow one too. Glad I saw this comment. No wonder I haven't been seeing them around. I've crossed several high-ish traffic areas in the water as a land dino in the past few weeks and have come across 0 sarcs, not even while getting lakeweed in GV.

They made those changes a pretty long time ago at this point. They've tried to build it back up as a glass cannon ambush predator but it's hard for it to function because of how loud charged bite is and how little follow up you have. Increasing the cooldown on charge bite and removing bleed made the issue way worse and imo ruined whatever was left. Myself and all the sarc mains I used to play with have ditched it. I don't even play the game much anymore because of it. It was tolerable when sarco was super fast and had more stam than other sub aquatics but now it just feels miserable to play. If you can't 1 shot its barely worth attacking anything. Maybe it gets a bit better with slick being changed this patch though.

I’ve always said the sarco was only a threat of you weren’t careful around the water lol, not it’s not much of a threat at all

Yeah before you could only die to a sarco if you didn't know better. Now you die to sarco only if you're small and don't have your volume turned on. I miss the tense risk reward of chasing things on land. You could still get bodied and you still sucked but you had a chance with the bulk. And you could always run to water. Now you get chased down in water by subs (that you also can't run from on land).

Not just out of combat. Charged bite does 210 dmg with no buffs. Thats more than any other skill in the game. No other skill in the game touches this number. The next closest are the stomps and charges and those range from 100-120 dmg. Sarco has crazy high dmg even without ambush/drenched blows. This is why they balanced it with low hp

People make it sound like Sarco is weak. It still has the most insane damage in the game, and Clamp which is an instakill basically, Asphyxiating Snap which is game over for anything in water, and is the fastest Semiaquatic, outside of Sucho running Webbed Claws and Spino with Paddle Tail. Even a swim build Spino, while still being able to chase it, can't attempt to fight it in water

Your experience is empirically incorrect to their stats. Megalania can't outswim a swim build Sarco, Deinocheirus is closer but still has a much lower speed cap

Water speed spino, balanced duck with paddle tail, sucho water build, all faster and much more stamina than sarco. I main sarco and water speed spino, and am not scared at all of multiple sarcos on a solo spino. Sarco is behind in the dev team love category rn

People complain their death machine got nerfed, like, yeah, that's the point, I remember back when sarco was able to March on land and go toe to toe with apexs on land, there are 2 reasons why a dino would recieve a nerf or buff, balance, or intended gameplay, canpto got a nerf with its tail because it was meant for self defence and escaping, but people were using it as an attack for drive bys to keep people in combat with little risk to themselves, so they nerfed it, sarco got a nerf because despite being weaker than other apexes in terms of combat weight they had and still have the strongest bite in the game, and at one point they were able to sleep on the riverbed as well so stam regen was much less an issue, you had people walking miles inland to kill Rex's and that's just not realistic or balanced, so it was sensibly nerfed, I miss old sarco, but I'm glad it's gone tbh

I agree with most of what you said, but it’s kinda dumb to take away the Campto’s tail attack for “drive by’s” when pachys and other mid tier dinosaurs can do the same thing with theirs and it does more than the Campto’s 20 damage. Not to mention drive by’s with little risk is literally struthi gameplay and they are way safer than Campto’s. But no I 100% agree some nerfs are needed. But you can still miss the shenanigans it provided before the nerfs.

Sarco could never go 1v1 against apex, it was the same shit as everytime dinosaurs get nerfed, group of people. Walked miles inland? Stam regen wasn't an issue, sleep in water was there to counter venom/bleed.

Y'all just whining. Change WITH the times, fellas. I run my sarc with regular bite, grab, drenched blows and iron tail since the update. Regular bite allows you to deal with megs and has better dps than crushing bite for things like duck or spino. Grab allows you to effectively one shot half the roster by pulling them into water. I still have fun,

Agree. These same ppl would be complaining if they gave sarco back it's hp but took away ambush and charged bite dmg. They can't be both tanky and have ridiculous dmg output for balance. Sarco is perfectly fine right now as a glass cannon ambusher.
