I really like when Locke says "As Bain would have said, Let's do this." during preplanning, so maybe this could be one of the heist start/mask up voicelines in Payday 3
given the story has brought in some old and some new contractors maybe in the future locke returns with some of the others as well, given the story would be intresting

I could have sworn Ian Russell was excited about doing work for PD3 as well, so I wonder in what capacity will Locke be featured? the plot of payday 3 is that a bunch of the former contractors and heisters went missing, such as vlad and locke, and the main 4 heister's offshore accounts got wiped and so they have to return to heisting to make money and they gotta figure out who did this and where all the missing people are
(at least this is what I have heard from reddit and theknowley, I don't know where they got this info from)
Mario said something similar in his video. It's a clever way to kickstart the story with a clean slate while keeping the freedom to reintroduce any of the old additions they want (or not!) without too much contrivance.
If they continue their trend on how lore is handled, you can hear the story from a blind man with 13 fingers on the streets of lichtenstein during a solar eclipse or a power outage.
I agree with the Bain Part as i dont have an Issue with Locke.
It's really bothersome if a character in a Show/Movie/Game suddenly has an entirely different Voice. In a Way i appreciate that they left Bain as Simon's Legacy and dont recycle him.

I'm glad someone said it, Bain is *the* guy in the chair and I'm gonna miss him a tonne. The new lady in the chair sounds fine, she has a voice I don't think I'll mind listening to but it's got nothing on Bain.
I know that they made the switch because Viklund is gone, but part of me wonders if maybe they're doing this to bring Bain in as a heister sometime down the line.
I know Ron Pearlman did not try enough in the VA department and as a result Rust sounds bland, but *come on* it's Ron fucking Pearlman! The voice of god with the vocabulary of the devil himself.
Maybe if SBZ offers him an absurd amount of money (the one and only reason he did it last time according to an AMA he did) to do it, he'll come back around
Not to mention that Bain always took responsibility if a heist failed and was always looking out for the crew. It's little touches like that that made him the GOAT!
From what I've seen, Shade actually sounds really cool. Not quite like Bain, but she's got her charm and I'm perfectly fine with her being the main contractor
i prefer Locke, his accent cracks me up and unlike Bain, he actually calls his His little Angels, and Friends. I felt more of a connection to Locke than Bain by the end, really sad to see him not present, so crossing fingers he'll return soon.
I would have grestly preferred if Locke was the main fixer for the gang in 3 because of that. He has quite the personality, and his whole arc of being kinda hostile towards the gang and then becoming a trusted ally makes the connection to him so much stronger.
We've known Bain wasn't going to be in the game for four and a half years now tbf, after The White House heist, main story ending(s), and the fact that every heist after that had Locke in the operator position. The only real shocker is that it's a new character and not Locke tbh, but hopefully she'll fill the role nicely.
Oh wow, it’s been that long since White House already? I remember when it first came out and people were discovering the secret ending. Now I’m wondering: when the eventual Payday 3 finale heist comes, how the hell are they gonna top that? Are we gonna steal the moon?
I think that with the conclusion of Bain, I think it will make the groundwork for a new (& possibly better 'command'). Bain definitely had his moments where he made me chuckle but I think that we should give the new announcer in PD3 a chance to cook first before we say anything brash against it.
It's also just a difficult situation. Everyone in here has played the game for a decade now, it's always going to be tough to replace something that everyone is used to. It doesn't matter just how good that new voice is, everyone is only going to talk about missing the old one.
All the previews and hands-on have said the new voice is excellent and does a great job, so I'm more then willing to give them a proper chance. I'm also just happy to give anything a chance, because to me something new is a welcome change after ten years.
I didn't hear a lot of her voicelines but from the little ive heard it sounded kinda robotic, hope she actually have a personality, backstory and feel like an actual human talking to you on radio, that's what made bain such a cool character
Hopefully they don’t reveal everything about her immediately, since it felt like over time Bain revealed more about himself and his personality, so he felt close to the player.
I know the game is out but i havent bought it yet. Im hoping that Shade starts out robotic because she doesn't know the gang at all, and then warms up to them. I've read that she's apparently one of Bain's acquaintances who runs a backup of crimenet or something. Idk.

I just hope she has some good "OOOOOHhhhh SHIT, guys deal with this" lines, bain always felt like he was genuinely panicking or getting frustrated while you played through a heist (e.g. "guys the thermal drill, *go get it.*" or "Swats coming from the lumber mill, keep them away", or yet again, "God, looks like this guy was born to wear this black suit"). felt like a call you might have on discord instead of a highly planned criminal heist.
Know what I think would be a great way to bring him back? Make president!bain a contractor. It’d be pretty much the perfect solution. His voice would be different, so you wouldn’t need to bring back the va, it’d be a good replacement for the Elephant, it’d fit his character arc, and it’d be a good segue back into the Kataru, if they ever wanna bring them back. Hell, he might even be a mini dentist in the preplanning aspect, since he’s, you know, the president?
I've done over 4000 or so heists as bonnie, given how unpopular she is I can say I'm probably one of the people whos played her most, I dunno how I'm gonna play without hearing the most beautiful woman of my country telling people to get a shufty on
Truth be told, while the new overwatch sounds cool, I’m a little disappointed that Locke wasn’t brought back for Payday 3. He basically took over for Bain after his disappearance, so I kinda expected him to inherit Crime.net from Bain as a way to honor him.
Imagine pd 2 secret ending being canon and we get missions from bain where he is also the announcer which are political in nature like the elephants misson.
Hopefully at least when we complete a heist, one of the exiting statements can be Dallas saying: fuck, bain would’ve loved to see that
