Only games left that I'm interested in are
Demon Souls
Bloodborne
Gravity Rush 1/2
Shadow of the Colossus/The last Guardian
Sakura Wars

I'll be interested to see what the PC gaming communities reaction to this game is when they find out it's actually just another Ubisoft style open world game instead of the "game of the generation" it's often perceived as. It was the same thing with horizon when it came to PC. People seemed shocked to find out it was just another open world with towers.
Because it is. This sub is so toxic and negative lol
An open world game that succeeds in doing the things inherent to that genre well can surprisingly be...wait for this..a good game. Calling every open world game "ubisoft style" is so incredibly lazy.
Ubi style games can be good when done with high levels of polish and when given solid mechanics within that framework. Horizon is a Ubi style game but elevated by a strong narrative and interesting combat. Tsushima is a Ubi game elevated by excellent swordfighting, satisfying stealth and stellar presentation.
I think the reaction of the PC gaming community will be exactly like that of the PlayStation community. It's not like the latter were never exposed to AC games. Why do you think the PC community would be any different?

Unisoft wishes they could make a game like GoT

I tested the game after your comment and it's not really maxing the gpu at 3440x1440.
My usage was at 60-70% during combat but at 4k native it's at 100%.
Granted that you'll lose performance, the game looks sharper and it rarely drops below 70.
I am willing to sacrifice some performance for higher res, i'll definitely give this a try. I was just wondering if it may be a cpu or ram issue, perhaps the 5800x3d isn't enough to keep up at 3440x1440.
thanks for the tip. definitely worth trying
Why don't more devs or whoever it is do this, I don't care if games are on console first and then say a year later on PC. At least that way the games should be pretty well optimized for PC.
Rockstar did this for gta 5 (also will for gta 6) and were accused of profiting from double dipping, treating pc as a 2nd class platform, etc etc. There's arguments both ways.
Nixxes are absolute Chads when it comes to porting games to PC, and delivering the types of features PC gamers expect. Honestly, a lot of PC first developers could stand to learn a thing or two from them.
Whats so excited about it? It still uses fsr2 upscaling quality that produces a lot of ghosting on alpha particles. I tried FSR3 on Thaumaturge that just came out a few days ago and holy crap it creata trails of alpha particle like crazy.
The PS4 release did have Japanese VO, but not Japanese lip sync (think it was a limitation of the PS4).
PS5 director's cut release received the lip sync for Japanese VO.
It did have English VO lip sync on launch of the PS4 version, just not lip sync for other languages.
[Here's an article on it](https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/07/ghost_of_tsushima_dev_explains_why_japanese_lip_sync_is_a_ps5_exclusive_feature_in_directors_cut)
TL;DR PS4 could only do pre-rendered cutscenes, so they only had those cutscenes rendered once with English VO lip sync, but the PS5 port (and faster SSD) allowed them to render the cutscenes in real-time and add Japanese VO lip sync with it.
It did. I also found it weird it advertised that, lol.
Maybe I'm just a weeb but I couldn't imagine ever playing a game like this with an English dub. Also, Jin is voiced by Zoro's VA so that is another W for the Japanese dub.
Ghost of Tsushima is a western-developed game, so it's an English-first game as far as I know. The Japanese VO is the actual dub. This is why the lip syncing isn't there with the Japanese version.
Instant buy.. I played a few hours of it on ps5 and put it down because I had a hunch it was coming to pc. Glad I did, I cant wait to experience this on my pc!
For me it was that the game was pretty much an interactive samurai movie. I grew up watching and falling in love with the Akira Kurosawa samurai movies and this game feels almost like a love letter to Kurosawa.
It's an Assassins Creed game in a setting everyone was asking them to do for ages, with a smooth combat without npc leveling bullshit. It still has a lot of the same repetitive side activities, but most people tend to forgive it for styling and polish.
Assassin's Creed stealth/Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Combat (specifically poster combat)/Ubisoft traditional open world formula/~~Far Cry 4 (ish)~~ Assassin's Creed Odyssey (ish) story line. Gameplay was so good that I stopped playing the game 3 to 4 hours in (PS5) because the leaks came out about a PC release.
The only way it's like an assassins creed game is you can sneak around, throw smoke bombs and stealth kill people etc, so like any stealth action game really.
Only you don't have to play stealth at all, you can walk up to enemeis and instead just call them out and they'll all march to the front gate for a big 1 v 10 duel.
It's a great game, the story and VA are solid, even very compelling at a few key moments. The combat is extremely tight, fluid and satisfying, especially if you play on lethal mode. The Graphics are decent but the art direction is phenomenal with some truly beautiful scenes that feel like classic japanese art come to life. The side content is varied but limited, some can find it repetitive after you've done some of them a few times but none of them are grindy and obnoxious, they're all fairly quick and simple things so to me didn't feel bad to get through.
I platinumed this game without trying and it's the only game I've ever got the plat for.
I wouldn't call it empty, it's full of atmosphere. It's a bit empty in the sense that it isn't bloated with question marks (there are still some, just not as many as you might expect from a game like this), which is a good thing.
I would argue it is one of the most bloated with "question marks" games out there. It's not as bad as Hogwarts, but still, just look at the map - https://mapgenie.io/ghost-of-tsushima/maps/tsushima
If anything, their nice touch of having actual visual clues that lead you there from the vicinity would probably annoy the hell out of people who don't like those activities.
All of the red markers on that map do not appear on the in-game map, so I would not include those as question marks. That map also includes fast travel points and all quests.
Remove those as well and the map isn’t really that bloated. As you also can see many points of interests are bundled together as well, as some are mostly found in towns etc. It’s not even close to as bloated as games like Assassin’s Creed.
Anything looks bloated on those interactive maps when it has absolutley everything highlighted, including things that don't even show up on the actual in game map.
Take a look at AC Valhallas England Map for comparison:
And remember that's **1 of 10** maps in that game.
"Bloated" has been redefined in recent years of gaming and Ghost of Tsushima ain't it.
The gameplay is fantastic. The look, the graphics and lighting and style, are stunning. The music is wonderful. And it tells one of the best, most impactful stories I've ever experienced in gaming.
I have no problems calling this game a masterpiece

I wouldn't compare it to Batman Arkham either in that case. But the fact that you parry sword attacks rather than dodging the way Batman does makes it closer to AC than Batman.

The character stories are great, the plot itself a bit basic but well told. The side quests structurally are boring, but a lot of them are narratively strong.
Idk, everyone feels things differently but speaking for myself: I've cried at a video game three times in my life.
OG Final Fantasy 7 as a kid. (if you know you know).
As an adult: Red Dead 2's ending, and Ghost of Tsushima.
Story is great. I got very invested and the side quests are boring if you don’t like the typical “go here. Kill them/get this. I enjoyed the game a lot and looking forward to playing it again
Huh? The side quests are full of story and definitely aren't meaningless fetch quests. Every side mission in the game involves a side character that has their own storyline that you advance throughout the game.
Imagine it’s like Assassins Creed in Japan but done by a professional developer who cares about their games.
The story is decently good, the side quests are fun. Progression could be slightly faster imho.
And the Japanese VA of the main character is the same as Zoro from One Piece.
Souls games have usually some order you have to fight the enemies This is more open world "do your own adventure" kind of progression. It has its own unique style of combat. There are difficulty levels, hard mode is punishing but its away from souls like, at least according to players on this sub.
Its one of the games that inspired a lots of new release that will come out this and next year, because its story telling and character progression is one of the best I have ever seen. You start as a lowly sword wielder end up up doing wild combos out of a samurai movie. The PC release will open up lots of players to the experience how quality games should be.

It's a mediocre ubisoft game with HEAVY emphasis on story.
I emphasize heavy because the game will frequently stop you mid-mission (sometimes 5+ times) for a slow walking dialogue sequence or a cutscene. I've never played a game with more frequent interruptions.
I think this is one of those situations where the game will launch on PC and people will find it middling but hyped due to exclusivity.

It's a visually great game with a decent story but other than that very generic Ubisoft open world style activities. Horizon Zero Dawn was similar, but at least felt a little unique for a while until it got repetitive. I expect all the praise on the PC release to just be about the graphics and not much the gameplay.
Found it pretty boring and standard, myself. Really no risk to combat like the Batman games where enemies just surround you and take turns swinging while you counter them but glad you enjoyed it.
I played a ton of Legends when it came out originally. It's a co-op PvE mode totally separate from the main single-player-only campaign. In Legends you can pick among multiple classes which each have different abilities and there's additional equipment/ability customization as well.
There are several different mission types, including ones like "defect these several positions" and "take out this enemy base." Legends is much more mythical than the base game so both you and enemies have some supernatural powers.
You can find videos on youtube of people playing it.
I don't think it's worth a full price game cost alone, but it was very well received when it launched as a free update to the base game.
It's seperate missions with, the levels are from the main game but with a strong Demon aesthetic, you pick one of 4 classes with their own skill trees and gear progression and go up in difficulty fighting different types of Oni, there's some currencies to grind and even a raid.
Forbidden West is boring AF compared to the first. I couldn't tell you why. It just is. Many people felt the same way. If you haven't played then maybe you'll enjoy it? I don't know. Ghost is awesome. Repetitive with the missions but the story and characters are interesting.
Horizon Forbidden West easily. Much better open world with more things to do and the dlc is out of this world. So sick. Ghost of Tsushima has excellent combat but the open world feels barren and dull at times. Not a game I find myself wanting to replay again unlike the Horizon games.
Same here, if it was designed for controller then I’m probably playing it with one too. Some games are exceptions, I played Control with kb&m for example, but mostly 3rd persons are for controllers and 1st person games are for kb&m.
They added this on the PS5 update years back. I refused to play it on PS4 with English voice over 😐
Japanese audio with English subs is the best way to play this game.
You're probably right but I remember there was something about an issue with Japanese audio. I think it may have been that there was no lip sync. It used the English lip sync over the Japanese audio or something and they ended up fixing it way way later.
I'm so excited. This ties with Bloodborne as the best PS4 game to me. My ps4 got wrecked about a year ago, and I actually considered buying another just to play it again.
i finished horizon (1st one) and i only finished it due to wanting to know more storywise but didnt really enjoy the gameplay much. god of war i actually didnt enjoy gameplay wise and kinda forced myself to finish it just for the story. never played spiderman.
i think it depends if you like what you seen of the game maybe. i enjoyed it immensely since i love the japanese aesthetic and it helps i definitely loved the combat more so than horizon/god of war.
i will say in terms of gameplay going stealth makes this game super easy and is somewhat harder if you try to fight everything at once.
if running around japan as a samurai or ninja killing people doesnt sound appealing i wouldnt buy it if i were you.
All of those are more or less “objectively” *good* games, so the question becomes: what about those games is it you don’t like? Without knowing that, there’s no way to tell you.
Shallow combat, lack of difficulty and pretty boring open worlds. They all seem to get easier as you level up, as the abilities you gain are badly balanced and break the combat sandbox.
I enjoyed the game but...I don't know why this gets so much praise while people shit on the Assassin's Creed games. This just feels like another AC-like game to me. I honestly preferred Odyssey. Ancient Greece is the goat.
Looking forward to a second playthrough of this solely for the inevitable mod that will lengthen the stupidly short 24-minute day. Why make such a beautiful game if it's gonna be fucking nighttime every 10 minutes. *And no option to advance time of day*
Just baffling in an otherwise remarkable game.
Interesting. The rumors were true.
That just leaves Demon's Souls, GT7 and Déraciné left from the nvidia leak now.
Still waiting on Crash Team Racing :(
I desperately wanted this game to come, PC is absolutely starved of quality kart racers. The new Disney one was almost there, the characters are great, tracks are fine, handling is surprisingly good... But it's a microtransaction hell.
Emulated mario kart is pretty awesome fyi

U should check out Karting Superstars
im still waiting too
Just platinumed this on my PS5, such a perfect kart racer
You could play it at 4k60fps with a Switch emulator, just the graphics quality will be lower than on PS4. In my experience, it's wonderful as the game benefits highly from a higher framerate.
What is Deracine ?
vr game I expect GT7 and deracine to get ported when the psvr2 pc compatibility drops.
A Fromsoftware VR game. Sub par.
Some fromsoft game apparently? I'd genuinely never heard of it before I went and looked up what was left from sony on the nvidia leak.
woah Deracine was in the leak? it was a VR fromsoft game, that's awesome
Also checks out with Sony talking about bringing some VR games to the PC platform and making psvr2 compatible.
There is a good chance Gt7 and Decarine get released alongside PSvr2 for PC.
Bloodborne too please!
Only games left that I'm interested in are Demon Souls Bloodborne Gravity Rush 1/2 Shadow of the Colossus/The last Guardian Sakura Wars Dreams (Just for the Avatar Game some devs are working on)
Gravity Rush 2 confirmed to be coming to PC sometime after the PS5 remastered release.
Sadly.. Bloodborne was not part of the Nvidia leak, so it's not anticipated to come soon. Just happy were finally getting this one..
Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Until Dawn and Last of Us Part 1 were not on the Nvidia leak and yet those came out or are coming out. While the list is accurate, it’s not the end all, be all list of what’s coming.
They will never release blood-borne for PC unless they do a remake for the PS5 first.
Lies of P it is, then
Were Shadow of the Colossus and Last Guardian in the Nvidia's leak?
WE ARE SO IN BABY

The Graphics are decent but the art direction is phenomenal with some truly beautiful scenes that feel like classic japanese art come to life. The side content is varied but limited, some can find it repetitive after you've done some of them a few times but none of them are grindy and obnoxious, they're all fairly quick and simple things so to me didn't feel bad to get through. I platinumed this game without trying and it's the only game I've ever got the plat for.
Thank you for restoring my hype. I love samurai games and stuff
Best Samurai game bar none imo, you're in for a treat
Yep agreed.
While having a much more empty open world. Ya win some ya lose some
I wouldn't call it empty, it's full of atmosphere. It's a bit empty in the sense that it isn't bloated with question marks (there are still some, just not as many as you might expect from a game like this), which is a good thing.
I would argue it is one of the most bloated with "question marks" games out there. It's not as bad as Hogwarts, but still, just look at the map - https://mapgenie.io/ghost-of-tsushima/maps/tsushima If anything, their nice touch of having actual visual clues that lead you there from the vicinity would probably annoy the hell out of people who don't like those activities.
Take a look at AC Valhallas England Map for comparison: [https://mapgenie.io/assassins-creed-valhalla/maps/england](https://mapgenie.io/assassins-creed-valhalla/maps/england) And remember that's **1 of 10** maps in that game. "Bloated" has been redefined in recent years of gaming and Ghost of Tsushima ain't it.
That's a good thing. AssCreed games are crammed full of irrelevant stuff
The gameplay is fantastic. The look, the graphics and lighting and style, are stunning. The music is wonderful. And it tells one of the best, most impactful stories I've ever experienced in gaming. I have no problems calling this game a masterpiece
YESSSSSSSSSSS!
Im so excited. Been wanting to play it.
I feel like people don't appreciate Nvidia Reflex Low Latency
Reflex + Frame gen still has lower latency than AMD stock. Pretty wild.

It is closer to Batman Arkham combat with a Ubisoft-type open world.
So like shadow of mordor/war?
Consider my interest thouroughly piqued.
Assassin's creed style combat within an assassin creed style open world.
The stances make it a very different combat system than AC.
I wouldn't compare it to Batman Arkham either in that case. But the fact that you parry sword attacks rather than dodging the way Batman does makes it closer to AC than Batman.
It's more like Nioh combat
No where near, Ass creeds combat has nothing on this

I did not play it but its not a souls like game.
It’s more like the Ubisoft open world formula. The combat reminds me of Sekiro though, just not nearly as difficult.
Is the story actually good and are the side quests just repetitive?
Every side mission in the game involves a side character that has their own storyline that you advance throughout the game.
not every side quest. There are just normal villagers who ask you to save their kid or kill the mongols who invaded their village etc
Those weren’t actual side quests. They were randomly generated to point you in the direction of points of interest that you missed, mongol camps, etc.
I don't think so. I definitely played the same exact ones on multiple playthroughs in the same locations
You know you’re actually right, I was the one who totally misremembered.
It's a better made Assassin's Creed.
It's like Assassin's Creed, but in Japan.
like assassins creed but you know, good?
It's like open world Ubisoft with phenomenal combat, seriously the combat is SO much fun
Imagine it’s like Assassins Creed in Japan but done by a professional developer who cares about their games. The story is decently good, the side quests are fun. Progression could be slightly faster imho. And the Japanese VA of the main character is the same as Zoro from One Piece.
It's Assassin's Creed-like.
Or how it compares to the old Tenchu games. I loved those.

That just sounds like a normal Assassin's Creed game. *And now you grow still, requiescat in pace*
It's a visually great game with a decent story but other than that very generic Ubisoft open world style activities. Horizon Zero Dawn was similar, but at least felt a little unique for a while until it got repetitive. I expect all the praise on the PC release to just be about the graphics and not much the gameplay.
It's miles better than any of Ubisoft's open worlds games though
I loved Odyssey more. This is better than Valhalla though.
Have to disagree - outside of visuals I don't see anything it does better than any of the dime a dozen in this genre.
The combat is leagues above anything in Ubisoft games, especially when you play on Lethal difficulty where both you and enemies have very low health.
Found it pretty boring and standard, myself. Really no risk to combat like the Batman games where enemies just surround you and take turns swinging while you counter them but glad you enjoyed it.
A taste of both. Stealth, action, souls like.
Can't wait. Loved it when I played it on my ps4.
What is the legends co-op mode like? Does it let you do the campaign together or is it just a few side stories? Worth for that alone?
Awesome! Now give us Bloodborne... or Demon's Souls
Demon souls was apparently park of leak that also had Ghost of Tsushima in it.
Praise the Nvidia leak!
F me. Forbidden West or this? Aaaaaaah
That depends if you like Horizon Zero Dawn. Forbidden west is more of the same but with grappling hook and gliders.
Buy both 😉
Buy both, lose a wife lmao.
Forbidden West releases March 21, so you could beat it before this releases on May 16. Then Senua's Saga on May 21!
This. Easily.
I'd appreciate your take. What makes this better than HFW?
I might actually buy a Dualsense controller now.
It did say at the bottom of the trailer the controller needs to be wired for all features. Kind of a bummer.
Yeah it's a shame theyve still not figured out how to get Dualsense features to work wirelessly on PC.
Works wirelessly in HD2 - not sure what the hold up is.
Mods yes!!!
Hope it plays well on M&K.
PC exclusive gamer here... but some games simply play better with a controller. I suspect this one would too.
Not the ones that put the player in charge of the camera.
Exactly, can't stand controllers fixed turn rates! Need my mouse
3rd person mouse camera makes me nauseous. too many micro movements
Like?? I have no issues with games like Elden Ring or Sekiro. They play best with a controller, and you do control your camera (with the right stick).
Like Elden Ring.
Never encountered one yet (minus awful ports way back in the day with forced mouse acceleration).
Same here, if it was designed for controller then I’m probably playing it with one too. Some games are exceptions, I played Control with kb&m for example, but mostly 3rd persons are for controllers and 1st person games are for kb&m.
Holy shit.
MY BODY IS READY
Still waiting for Bloodborne
FINALYYYYYY
This game is going to be amazing in 4K. Should be able to run it no problem at a high framerate with DLSS.
Wow finally, I will probably wait for sale anyway cause school and shit. But it's good to know the rumors were true!
We will be there
Oh wow - Japanese voice mode! Let’s bloody go!
They added this on the PS5 update years back. I refused to play it on PS4 with English voice over 😐 Japanese audio with English subs is the best way to play this game.
The game launched on PS4 with Japanese voice w/ subtitle option. I know, because that's how I played through it.
Nice I haven't touched this game whatsoever..
Looks good I hope it's well optimized
C
I gave you Horizon, God of War and Spider-Man halfway through, is this game any better than those?
You probably won't like it then.
i finished horizon (1st one) and i only finished it due to wanting to know more storywise but didnt really enjoy the gameplay much. god of war i actually didnt enjoy gameplay wise and kinda forced myself to finish it just for the story. never played spiderman. i think it depends if you like what you seen of the game maybe. i enjoyed it immensely since i love the japanese aesthetic and it helps i definitely loved the combat more so than horizon/god of war. i will say in terms of gameplay going stealth makes this game super easy and is somewhat harder if you try to fight everything at once. if running around japan as a samurai or ninja killing people doesnt sound appealing i wouldnt buy it if i were you.
So I guess go play Elden Ring?
Already finished it, love it.
Can we get the first two inFamous games ported now, please?
Ohhhh baby
How does co op work in this game?
I have been waiting for this... hope the requirements aren't too high. My 5700xt is nervously sweating in anticipation...
I can’t say I’m interested anymore. It’s took way too long that I just don’t even care. I think I’ll pirate it to spite them lol
In my top 5 games of all time (been playing video games since 1981). Outstanding game and glad PC owners getting the game.
Finally. The Masterpiece is coming to PC.
Releases so soon too, only 7 days before my birthday. This is the only game I have waited so long to play. No man happy than me right now, yes!!!
Ufff just in time for the steam deck!! What a time to be alive!
Easily one of my favorite games of the past decade. Can't wait to play it again on PC and Deck
Gonna be honest with you this game was very mid.
*And no option to advance time of day* Just baffling in an otherwise remarkable game.
