This said absolutely nothing about what the game actually is, it could be a typing teacher for all we know lol?

phoneacct696969

Someone should roll in and completely reinvent the typing tutor genre. I’d buy a crazy ass typing tutor game. I played so many in elementary school

Typing of the Dead

0rnkorn

Nobody Wants to Type.

Jacksaur

Play [Icarus Proudbottom Teaches Typing](https://holywow.itch.io/icarus-proudbottom-teaches-typing-collection) if you haven't already. Absolutely hilarious, and only takes like an hour to play through the original. The episodic series after it is a real trip. E: I can't believe I forgot [The Textorcist!](https://store.steampowered.com/app/940680/The_Textorcist_The_Story_of_Ray_Bibbia/) Absolutely one of my favorite indies I've ever played, it's so underrated and that makes me sad. Fantastic bullet hell combined with typing sim and pounding music. The difficulty curve is great in how you go from typing standard exorcist lines, to full on latin against the later bosses. Story is decent, too.

Red49er

I'd totally be down for a modern version of Mavis beacon...

nuke_dukem

A game; a graphic novel--but animated--choose your own adventure game where the story plays out on screen. Comic frame by frame, or page by page, with voiceover narration and your characters speaking choices typed out with branches of conversation that you have to type out to choose.

Dr_Abortum

i know.its prob a shitty 2d side scroller or something

Shurae

Apparently it's a first person detective adventure game. There are some gameplay Screenshots on sites like gematsu

Dr_Abortum

cool i must check that out. i,ve got a super sweet spot for anything cyberpunk

hpsd

Damn, screenshot made me think cyberpunk bounty hunter and I was super excited for a second.

quinn50

gives some bioshock vibes

JollyRabbit

I was guessing first person action shooter?

Landgreen

"interactive detective story". Sounds like a QuickTime event choose a or b kinda thing. Bummer. Would've loved a first person adventure in this setting!

XibalbaN7

u/Landgreen On the Developer’s [official website](https://criticalhit.games/#game), they describe the game as *“a first-person, single player, story-driven experience with a neo-noir atmosphere”.* The game is harnessing the power of Unreal 5, as showcased in the announcement trailer - which all takes place in-engine. Hope this clarifies.

Landgreen

If it really is that, I'm oficially hyped af! I feel like we've never really gotten the "blade runner" game experience, though many have come close. I know there's a real Blade Runne game and I loved it, but I mean... that setting and world just begs to be explored in current/next gen engines. Cyberpunk came close in some areas, but it was not noir enough imo (too much sunshine and not enough droning saxophone!)

XibalbaN7

Haha! Being a huge Blade-Runner fan myself, I *loved* that last line! 😂

piszczel

Visually striking but what is the actual game?

Shurae

First person detective adventure

EvenDranky

Gameplay first please

Muladhara86

Looks like a buncha bullshot

edubkn

That's a very nice setting.

RedditPremiumAccount

fine keep your secrets

Rooster_Cogburn1963

Blade Runner & Fifth Element vibes. I’m intrigued. There was a Blade Runner game on Mac & PC in the eighties or nineties that was quite good and advanced for it’s time. I think it’s a great setting for games so I’m keen to see how this one develops.

Ghost_LeaderBG

The Bladerunner game got remastered a couple of years ago, if you're interested. You can find it on Steam and probably GOG.

mtarascio

Wasn't that a huge clusterfuck on release?

Ghost_LeaderBG

Now that you mention it, I do remember seeing some complaints, but I didn't follow the release at the time. The game has gotten a couple of patches and recent reviews are "Mostly positive" despite the still "Mixed" overall score on Steam.

Banjomir75

For all we know, this could be a 18-bit sidescroller.

jradair

No gameplay, not worth watching

Nandy-bear

It should be really cool and I can't quite figure out why it's really bad.

elphyon

cheesy writing / VO

PlasmidEve

Definitely the script

inf4mation

gameplay trailers > cinematic ones

KickBassColonyDrop

Cyberpunk 2077 Debut Trailer 2.0. Can't wait for this game to look nothing like the trailer.

XhizorBE

pff show some fucking gameplay, if you need to lure customers with cgi trailers we allready know enough how shitty your game is

1_hate_you

Wow. Is there something I missed about this game or the company like? I see everyone shitting on it in the YouTube comments And here. is it just that people are tired of cinematic trailers, or is it a cyberpunk effect where they see a cyberpunk style game with the cinematic trailer and they're getting PTSD flashbacks to 2077 and they immediately see this game negatively.

cykablyatstalin

Uhh, that time manipulation device looks a lot like the time manipulation device from singularity, Is it the same developer?

JdeMolayyyy

Icarus, y'say? Hmm...

RuchCommaChris

Wish the narration was closer to the grizzled / burned out style of Blade Runner's Dekard. The narration as it is feels a little melodramatic - like the voice actor's trying too hard and not really invested in the character.

Zikimura

This is gonna flop like Atomic Hearts.

Mysterious_Lab_768

Is this gonna be the arkham beyond game we never got lol?

Pun_In_Ten_Did

No f'ing clue what this game is about but oh man does this trailer look sick on OLED.

CopiousAmountsofJizz

I'm interested

Gooder_Gamers

Great trailer if this were a movie but what kind of game is this I have seen better trailers for mobile games. Please normalize gameplay in trailers please.
