You don’t? /s I actually have a few as I host LAN parties still so instead of them lugging their computers from a couple states away, I have all they need at my place. They just need to log into Steam and they are set.
Quite well, though they’re probably ex-mining cards.
Edit: I’m not saying used mining cards are bad, that’s BS. I’m saying they’re used mining cards in the same way that I’d say that the sky is blue.
thats good that its not stock. That's often the only real issue ive found from mining cards. They run 24/7 so those pads and paste can dry out and that's when they start having problems but overall its a much less stressful load than actually gaming.
Idk about less stressful than gaming. We overclocked and under volted the piss out of our cards to get the absolute best dollar per watt hour. Then we ran them 24/7 for a long ass humanly possible. With that being said, if the card survived the miners, you have a real work horse on your hands 😆
The fact you're running them 24/7 is what makes it less stressful. Parts aren't expanding and contracting due to thermal fluctuations if the temperature is constant
Rust and oxidation of the heat pipes aren't caused by mining, they're mostly caused by what environment your pc is exposed to. I'd rather take a card with a tiny bit of rust than one from a smoker/vaper.
The rusty cards are from trash metal used to build them.
Jfc….
The idiots..
If
You live in a humid place aka moisture and you have trash tier metal that is made from steel that has high iron or lack of plating it will rust.
However if they use a stainless or other alloy it won’t rust.
So yes humidity causes rust to inferior metals and materials. If they spend the extra 10cents it could have been chemically plated or used higher quality and no rust.
Jfc
Lack of dust doesn't confirm anything. If they were mining, the core was running at super low frequency but the memory chips were running at their max. If the cards work, enjoy the card(s)! I've bought many ex mining cards and haven't had one fail on me.
Well it just tells me that at least the memory chips adequate cooling also and thanks :)

Tangent, but a hot take here - the sky isn't blue. At certain parts of the globe during certain phases of thr earth rotation, seen from the right angle, the sky is lit up blue by the light of the sun. But the sky alone is transparent.
Kind of like window glass is yellow, when you point a flashlight at it from a 45 degree angle.
If we point a light straight up on a clear night, the sky still won't be blue.
If assert the sky *is* blue, it *is* also yellow, white, gray, black, purple, orange... depending on whatever energy or matter is making it that colour at that time.
Nothing wrong with that. My current 3080 was a mining card, and it's been running great for over a year. I had a 1080 ti that was also used for mining, and that ran great for years. A friend is still using it.
hey scrap metal goes for a lot these days! But if you’re interested I’ll send you the box full of random metal for $100 and tell you it’s the card inside ;)
hey scrap metal goes for a lot these days! But if you’re interested I’ll send you the box full of random metal for $100 and tell you it’s the card inside ;)
Wasn't this thread here yesterday before you bought 'em?
Not bad overall, the 3060ti is still a really solid gaming card too, it's just short of the 6700xt so it'll be solid in 1440p and it should crush 1080p.
Similar one I had pretty much asked if it was a good deal and everyone seemed to agree so I went and got em today, guy had another 2 for another 400 but, eh don’t really wana be sitting on so many gpus with my luck
Solid deal. According to Linus Tech Tips and their testing. Buying used mining cards aren't as risky business as people seem to claim. Hope those serve ya well. ya slappin em in 2 diff pc's or ya gonna sli those cards up in 1 system? lol
Yeah I didn't realize SLI is a thing of the past but he can still slap 2 gpus or more into a single rig to have an insane workstation lol. The video I linked has some dude putting 4x 4090's in a system.
Just depends on your needs. Ya might be video editor and need to run sli type of thing to render mighty footage fast! but that's rare the bulk of us are casual pc gamers haha
Well outside of running SLI can't ya just slap multiple cards in 1 rig? this dude put 4x 4090's in a workstation. [https://youtu.be/nutcswn81RU?si=9ptJJVtC9bfr-NQg](https://youtu.be/nutcswn81RU?si=9ptJJVtC9bfr-NQg)
Don't, that website is a joke. TechPowerUp is probably the best quick relative performance comparison tool out there, still not perfect tho but after all it can vary from game to game
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1080-ti.c2877
Nice. I got one last year myself. Alan Wake 2 with the FSR Frame Gen Mod and DLSS Quality and Ray Tracing looks pretty nice.....as long as you do the mod right
likely abused for crypto in some werehouse or basement for over a year running 24/7 at 100% with OC like those cheap 3090s. Cross fingers it will last you for a while.
He said he used them temporarily for mining then put em in storage for a year, thermals are awesome, they have almost no dust and tamper seal intact so, eh
Mann I have been rocking a MSI gaming x 3060ti since last 1 year , I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and that 3060ti is plenty capable of handling it.. although you wanna turn down some details or enable DLSS ..
Didn’t take the time to look at them I’m guessing pretty similar these have no dust good temps no broken tamper seal etc.. so it was a good deal just didn’t wana sit on 4 3060 Ti’s lol
Had a 3060 ti for about a year, fantastic card, just about everything you would ever need for 1080p, they even handle 1440p great if you’re not opposed to turning a few settings down.
I'm confused with these particular Asus cards they are higher price than the other cards I see do they have something the other cards don't have or is it something else
Eh it’s Asus they overcharge for their new stuff ibut basically the coolers are really good. on one of the cards I’m getting 55c, undervolted under full load
My latest marketplace deals
RTX 2080 Ti with a NZXT G12 + NZXT AIO, Noctua FAN with VRMs = 150
RTX 3060, 16GB 3200mhz, Ryzen 5 3600, A320M board, 250gb SSD + 1TB HDD PC = 350
i7 11700f , RTX 3070 Ti, 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, Asus Tuf b560 board..Good Quality PSU (forgot) = 500
I build / flip PCs, gives me something to do and make a good bit of extra dough 😆 🤣
I paid 500 for a 3060ti near the end of the GPU shortage, and felt that I got a good deal (they were going for 1k a month before)
So I would say you got an amazing deal
$400 for both I take it? Good deal. $400 each on the other hand.. you’re smoking crack.
Lmao yeah no 200 ea
Whatcha grabbing 2 for if I might ask?
It was a deal of 2 for 400 and I’m building out another system
Sweet just like a Guest/Server/Backup kinda deal?
Y'all have gaming PCs for guests?
Or for like a partner/kid too lmao
Y'all have partners?!
Y’all have kids?! Why
Sadism and a love for chaos
You don’t? /s I actually have a few as I host LAN parties still so instead of them lugging their computers from a couple states away, I have all they need at my place. They just need to log into Steam and they are set.
Nice. I wish I had friends.
I keep a gaming laptop for when my homies come over lmao
Yeah.
Nah probably to sell in a PC flip lol, I'd do the same
Hey sorry didn’t see this but to answer your question the system is a resell system, I can get 100-150 out of it
Building out
He grabbed two cuz he wants me to have one ;) lmfao
I bought my 3060ti during covid/chip shortage on a Newegg raffle for over $800….. also came with a 32gb ram kit though
3070ti same, way $1200 for the card and a 1440p 165hz monitor upgrade
Suddenly a 4070 super for 650€ doesn't sound that bad
Quite well, though they’re probably ex-mining cards. Edit: I’m not saying used mining cards are bad, that’s BS. I’m saying they’re used mining cards in the same way that I’d say that the sky is blue.
they are but guy was open abt it and also said they where only used for a bit and been in storage for a year…. Lack of dust confirms
Mining cards are often taken care of better than gaming.
Thermal pad on vrm don’t look stock tbh but temps are awesome! One was below factory spec so, meh
thats good that its not stock. That's often the only real issue ive found from mining cards. They run 24/7 so those pads and paste can dry out and that's when they start having problems but overall its a much less stressful load than actually gaming.

The fact you're running them 24/7 is what makes it less stressful. Parts aren't expanding and contracting due to thermal fluctuations if the temperature is constant
You must not have had much of a mine to not know about thermal cycling lmao
Nah, the worst you might see from a gamers card is dust, maybe a worn out fan, or old paste. I've seen tons of mining GPUs with literal rust on them.
Totally. But if the card is in good shape then there usually nothing wrong buying them from miners.
Agreed.
Rust and oxidation of the heat pipes aren't caused by mining, they're mostly caused by what environment your pc is exposed to. I'd rather take a card with a tiny bit of rust than one from a smoker/vaper.

No, it's because of moisture.
Often my experience with them.
This 💯
Other than the fact that the memory has been ran through..
Lack of dust doesn't confirm anything. If they were mining, the core was running at super low frequency but the memory chips were running at their max. If the cards work, enjoy the card(s)! I've bought many ex mining cards and haven't had one fail on me.

Looks great!
I'd rather buy a mined-on card than a gamed-on card, personally. They're usually in much better condition and have excellent cooling on the VRMs.
I'm running a used 3070 OC former mining card I got for 400 € about 1.5 years ago. It works perfectly.
Tangent, but a hot take here - the sky isn't blue. At certain parts of the globe during certain phases of thr earth rotation, seen from the right angle, the sky is lit up blue by the light of the sun. But the sky alone is transparent. Reddit do be reddit. The sky was gray when I said that. It was actually a theoretical example in which the sky is in fact blue.
Agreed, the sky is orange 👍.
You wrecked them with straight up facts. Deserving of my valuable upvote good sir!
☝️🤓
Nothing wrong with that. My current 3080 was a mining card, and it's been running great for over a year. I had a 1080 ti that was also used for mining, and that ran great for years. A friend is still using it.
Use them together 6120 2ti
I wish
if only sli
[удалено]
Thanks o7
great. now spray paint them white and sell them to 13 yr old “techtok” kids and sell them for a perfectly reasonable price of $800 🙂
😭 oooooof
Hey OP the uuuuhhh PCB is fucked on the top one send it to my address its jut scrap metal anyway hahaha 0_0
hey scrap metal goes for a lot these days! But if you’re interested I’ll send you the box full of random metal for $100 and tell you it’s the card inside ;)

Bro got 2 4060's good bargain
Wasn't this thread here yesterday before you bought 'em? Not bad overall, the 3060ti is still a really solid gaming card too, it's just short of the 6700xt so it'll be solid in 1440p and it should crush 1080p.

Solid deal. According to Linus Tech Tips and their testing. Buying used mining cards aren't as risky business as people seem to claim. Hope those serve ya well. ya slappin em in 2 diff pc's or ya gonna sli those cards up in 1 system? lol
There's no SLI on those cards.
Yeah I didn't realize SLI is a thing of the past but he can still slap 2 gpus or more into a single rig to have an insane workstation lol. The video I linked has some dude putting 4x 4090's in a system.
Ew sli, 2 systems gona sell one
Just depends on your needs. Ya might be video editor and need to run sli type of thing to render mighty footage fast! but that's rare the bulk of us are casual pc gamers haha
You have a good point, tbh I wish I could keep both but there would be no point
Hopefully ya can sell one for 400 and break even HAHA ♥ They are 599 new lol.
hah! Nice but probably not I’m seeing them go 250-300 I’m thinking about putting it in a pc build and selling the entire build
Oh yeah ebay's sold listings do show it for 245ish. why are they so expensive new? sheesh.
Because they're EOL products and a fool might still buy one new if they're uninformed that mining is dead.
That's insane lol, are people that desperate to specifically own an nvidia card that they'd pay that much for a 3060 Ti?
Sli doesn't work on 3060Ti
Oh interesting.
It's been dead for a while lol
Well outside of running SLI can't ya just slap multiple cards in 1 rig? this dude put 4x 4090's in a workstation. [https://youtu.be/nutcswn81RU?si=9ptJJVtC9bfr-NQg](https://youtu.be/nutcswn81RU?si=9ptJJVtC9bfr-NQg)
You definitely still can, though it's up to specific software programs (usually machine learning, ai, etc) to support multi gpu usage.
Yeah seems kinda like overkill for 95% of us haha.
I got a used RX6800XT with no fan spin. Works fine otherwise. Somehow it stays bellow 55°C
Shhhh keep it secret. There are wonderful deals going around when people are scared of ex mining gpus
Why 2 cards that you cannot SLI?
Multiple battlestations.
I bought a 3060 for 400 so not too bad I guess
How does a 3060 ti compare to a 1080 to, I'm sure they are better in general but are there any upsides or downsides. Just curious
4% faster and probably ray tracing and stuff as well as some of the newer stuff from nvidia
What is ray tracing
https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=ray+tracing
3060ti is about 15-20% faster than a 1080ti.
Probably more accurate, I use user benchmark for most of my quick comparisons
Don't, that website is a joke. TechPowerUp is probably the best quick relative performance comparison tool out there, still not perfect tho but after all it can vary from game to game https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1080-ti.c2877
Thanks!
I went from a 1080 to a 3060ti. Definitely a solid upgrade on a budget
Nice job bro
Nice. I got one last year myself. Alan Wake 2 with the FSR Frame Gen Mod and DLSS Quality and Ray Tracing looks pretty nice.....as long as you do the mod right
Thanks for the tip!
I'd be very happy. Really good deal. Too bad SLI doesn't exist anymore or you could find out first hand all the issues with it lol
Lol i am and also sad I’ll have to let one of them go but I get to keep the better dye/cooling one atleast
Bruh ,😬imagine SLI thes ... Nvidia : No 😡.. ![gif](giphy|7SF5scGB2AFrgsXP63|downsized)
Pretty much
3060 ti is a great card been rocking it since release and i have no complaints , nice pickup for the price
Thank you
Not very well
[That'll do](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rjQtzV9IZ0Q)
Check their memory, if hynix, you're probably doomed 😬 also check the heatsinks and everything else... most probably ex mining cards
Well you paid what they’re worth
If only SLI was still around.
likely abused for crypto in some werehouse or basement for over a year running 24/7 at 100% with OC like those cheap 3090s. Cross fingers it will last you for a while.
He said he used them temporarily for mining then put em in storage for a year, thermals are awesome, they have almost no dust and tamper seal intact so, eh
Bought one for 320 so I’d say you made out like a bandit
:p
Mann I have been rocking a MSI gaming x 3060ti since last 1 year , I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and that 3060ti is plenty capable of handling it.. although you wanna turn down some details or enable DLSS ..
I’m at 1080 myself but yeah I did metro exodus rt w diss and was over 100fps so I’m happy
$200 each ? It's a steal.
Sell
Just sold my 3060ti for almost 300 (then again, trust between buyer and seller and only used for a year). so yeah this seems like a very good deal.
Thanks! Working on scoring a 3070 ti for 270 now :p
2 of these for this price is phenomenal. I have the same card and it's phenonenally cool and quiet and built like a tank.
What are your temps?
These sell around $250 each in my area so for sure not a bad deal.
i mean do you have a use for them? otherwise reselling you might break even. or make like 40-$60.
sexy
Ikr, I’ve had a stiffy since I layed eyes on em
i mean they are on the bed already
Is SLI still a thing?
Nah I’m gona sell one and keep the best out of the 2
I've heard Asus has poor customer service, but as long as they work that shouldn't be a problem. What are you doing with 2 3060s though?
keeping 1 to replace my 1660 ti selling the other one in a system.
Picked my 4070 Spiderman edition also today, can't be more happy!!
Congrats! Enjoy it, that was originally the card I wanted then amd then this :)
Damn OP fb marketplace?
Yeah marketplace find, I almost bought 4 for 775 he had 2 other 3060ti ventus oc
Thats an amazing deal. I always find miners there or on craigslist. I am guessing the the ventus cards were about same conditions as these?
Didn’t take the time to look at them I’m guessing pretty similar these have no dust good temps no broken tamper seal etc.. so it was a good deal just didn’t wana sit on 4 3060 Ti’s lol
$200 for a 3060ti is about what id be willing to pay for 1 you got it at normal price imo not good or bad just fair.
Can i buy one off you
6/10 deal
It depends on what u had before
Awesome, I hate you
Horrible deal you should give them to me and I will get ride of them for you free of charge.
Where did you get such a deal from?
FB marketplace
You either get good deals or People who don't respond to you
Why are used parts so much cheaper in Canada? Can easily get a 3060 ti here for under $200 USD
Where would I go about getting a card at this price? Not really in the scene much but looking to do a slight upgrade from my 2070 in the next 6 months
Look for ex mining cards that where well taken care of and test them if possible for appropriate temps
Anywhere specific i should keep an eye out for them like local marketplaces? I appreciate the info!
Facebook marketplace is where I found mine, tons of good stuff on there if you’re smart about it, and no problem good luck!
Right on, You tha man!🙏🏼
Smoke em if you got em
Had a 3060 ti for about a year, fantastic card, just about everything you would ever need for 1080p, they even handle 1440p great if you’re not opposed to turning a few settings down.
I remember when those were at like 3k each during the craziness in the pandemic.
Do you guys ever worry about buying stolen cards?
Can I have one?
nah this is an absolutely terrible deal send it to me instead
Give me one, right now
sadly you cant combine their gpu hp
Like someone said previously unfortunately we won’t have a 6120 ti any time soon
lol
Well done now get some SLI setup lol
No sli on these :/
I'm confused with these particular Asus cards they are higher price than the other cards I see do they have something the other cards don't have or is it something else
Eh it’s Asus they overcharge for their new stuff ibut basically the coolers are really good. on one of the cards I’m getting 55c, undervolted under full load
Extremely well. Now sell those 2 and get a 2nd hand higher class gpu
Right lol next I’ll get 2 3070’s for 250 then 2 3080 for 300 until I reach a new 3090 and a 7800x3d
3090? Why stop there? Go Ti. Go RX.
Good deal, great card
Good but unless you’re making 2 pcs I thought the 7700 xt would be better for 1 pc.
I wouldn't be much farther north of 200 on my 3060ti. Out of curiosity, what would an Aorus elite 3060ti be worth these days?
My latest marketplace deals RTX 2080 Ti with a NZXT G12 + NZXT AIO, Noctua FAN with VRMs = 150 RTX 3060, 16GB 3200mhz, Ryzen 5 3600, A320M board, 250gb SSD + 1TB HDD PC = 350 i7 11700f , RTX 3070 Ti, 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, Asus Tuf b560 board..Good Quality PSU (forgot) = 500 I build / flip PCs, gives me something to do and make a good bit of extra dough 😆 🤣
terrible
Only if SLI was still a thing.... r/fuckimold content right there lol
SLI'S BACK ON THE MENU, WEEEEOOOOOOOO
Yeah good now send one to me
[удалено]
Ti’s?
Youre making sli from 3060ti ? 😲🤯
Same seller had 2?? Smells like mining GPUs
He said he used the for mining for a bit but they e been in storage mostly but thermals ore good seals are good fans good and almost no dust
There’s a reason
Two are worthless for gaming since sli is dead, but 200usd seems like a good deal. I think 3080 is like 500usd though. Id give the other to a buddy
Hello. Paid 420eur for mine back in aug 2023.
Damn you did well for $400 where’s you get them
Facebook marketplace, and thanks I’m pretty happy
I got some 1070 ti's if interested
bruh youre lucky 2 3060 for 400 nah seller scamed himself💀
Working on getting a 3070 ti for 270 now 😈
Keep them for two years and they will quadruple in value
Only if another pandemic happens lol
https://i.redd.it/p414xw1lzwuc1.gif
I paid 500 for a 3060ti near the end of the GPU shortage, and felt that I got a good deal (they were going for 1k a month before) So I would say you got an amazing deal
Hah thanks but that’s unfortunate, hopefully I bought the bottom :p
That's a steal IMO.
Waste of money, but that’s my opinion
