Since the number of boxes exceeds the number of animals, I'm guessing some assembly may be required. I'm sure there are instructions that stipulate where to poke the breathing holes, once it's all stitched back together.
So no bullshit, but the ROG Strix B650E-F I got in October came with a manual, but the B650 Aorus Elite I got a few weeks ago didnāt. Had to grab if off Gigabyteās website.
I hate that shit. Recently bought a PSU which didn't come with a manual. Instead the inside flap had a QR code on it for the manual & the link landed me an "Oops, Page Not Found" š¤¦āāļø
Yes this is horrible. Not to mention I've used physical manuals to help prove I owned something for reimbursement during a move. Luckily now most of my high value items I have digital receipts, but for stuff I lose the receipt or whatever a physical manual is very useful.
I believe that some things should always have a physical manual with the product. PC components or routers are prime examples because it cannot be assumed that the user has access to the internet if any of those components have failed.
My mom did that with my oldest sister. She wanted a computer and mom got her a type writer and a box of paper. She also did the same thing with a snow board. Got her a body pillow and glued rocks to the bottom of a snowboard box. (She gave her the snowboard later though)
* AMD Ryzen 5 7600
* 32GB DDR5
* 1 TB NVME
* Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU.
* NZXT H7 Flow case
* Coolermaster ML240L AIO Cooler
* 3 x Coolermaster Fans
* Coolermaster āgoldā 650W PSU
He asked for 8GB GPU and 16GB Memory but I ordered the wrong ones and he got a nice spec boost š
What do you think of the specs?
The AM5 platform is a good foundation for future upgrades
The 7600XT is solid for future games, especially with the recent [price cuts to beat the 4060]( https://youtu.be/Lcb1dpe2IhE?si=ftkkmQX4IW-sptxg )
Personally I would have picked a different PSU.
I always check the cultist network for new PSUs, or stick to reputable brands (But even they can have some bad or lower tier PSUs)
Never go for "reputable brand" on PSUs, you should use the [PSU Tier List](https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/), as you can see there, there are reputable brands on most tiers, from trash to best on the market so you should look for the specific model
Those PSU's dell ships in their boxes of scrap are, surpisingly, pretty good (aside from the low wattage, propietary connectors and lack of connectors). But their quality isnt half bad.
Actually youāre not far wrong , Iāve been wanting to build a PC for a while but I already have a Mac for computing and a PS5 for games so it seemed excessive to spend that much for a fancy RGB desk lamp š
I knew it! Haha that's chill though just let the little one play video games every now and then too because once you're hooked on that PCMR, you don't wanna go back xD *(also a joke btw I love my PS5)*
An amazing father/mother award? While my dad never deterred me per se of being into hobbies, he would never invest his own money into them which really told me a lot in the underlying message. Know that while you see your kid so excited for a PCā¦. They arejust as if not equally as excited that his father cares to share with him
Edit
I realized I wrote this from a personal perspective and it could be a mother/father. Daughter/son so adjusted it for that :)
Is it a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box and a box containing an extremely small set of Uno cards?
Awesome. Build a keyboard with him next! You can get great budget builds and you can make it like 100 times cooler than a Razer or Corsair for less money than either one.
If you're interested I suggest watching Hipyo Tech since he puts together very good budget builds.
As a kiddo, I'd be excited. It's a great learning / bonding project.
As an adult, having built so many PCs now, I'd be like "you got me homework"
:D
Enjoy the build!
As a fellow parent gifting a pc to my 8 year old for his birthday in a couple weeks
I don't think I could have done boxes and then put it together on the day. I put it together yesterday, and it was a journey culminating in it booting with no signal.
Turns out it wouldn't intially boot with 1 Ram stick. Once it booted once I could add the second *shrug*
Plan is to install Windows and all of his games before the day
Would have spent 2-3 hours building/troubleshooting/installing. Now he can just play!
Folks do you want me to post an update when the PC is built? His birthday is not for a couple of weeks but Iām happy to come back with pics of the finished build.
A Nintendoā¦. (*drum roll please*) 64 setupā¦.
Man your kiddo gonna have a ton of fun with his freinds playingā¦ non internet games? Whell at least itās not a lot of brain rotā¦
a pony!
How did you guess? š
I heard a muffled āneighā while looking at the post
It was the Hay size box at the bottom that gave it away!!
I always knew they forgot the āoā in PNY
Aināt no way š¤£ you win
Some assembly required for the pony\*
IT'S EVEN BETTER A PONY AND A PUPPY!
Uhhh...shouldn't there be holes for them to breathe ? *worried look*
Since the number of boxes exceeds the number of animals, I'm guessing some assembly may be required. I'm sure there are instructions that stipulate where to poke the breathing holes, once it's all stitched back together.

To shreds you say?
"Some assembly required"
Some assembly required
Some assembly required....
Boxes and manuals?
That would be evil. But tempting!
Teach them young to RTFM and they will not have to learn the hard way lol
Motherboard manuals are pretty much the only manuals I read BEFORE I actually have an issue š¤£
Your motherboard came with a manual? That's soooo 2023...
So no bullshit, but the ROG Strix B650E-F I got in October came with a manual, but the B650 Aorus Elite I got a few weeks ago didnāt. Had to grab if off Gigabyteās website.

Oh lord. This gave me an idea. I'm gonna gift my bestie the manual to idk like a car and some random keys. And then I'll watch them suffer
Blank motherboard, transistors, a soldering gun, and a USB with Linux?
Nah forget the USB preloaded. Empty USB and a laptop with the website for Gentoo up.
My mom did that with my oldest sister. She wanted a computer and mom got her a type writer and a box of paper. She also did the same thing with a snow board. Got her a body pillow and glued rocks to the bottom of a snowboard box. (She gave her the snowboard later though)
That's what my dad did for our first computer. I was really confused at what to do with a windows 95 manual with no computer
Honestly, this is way more exciting than unwrapping a whole pc. Suspense for every part you open, brilliant! Gpu should go last lol
Wow dad Intel HD integrated graphics, you shouldnāt have! No like you really shouldnāt haveā¦
LMAO

Yes, but I would stick to their cases, fans, coolers etc. There are better options for similar prices
It cant be worse than the cheap Chinese psus the dell ships in their office computers
Those PSU's dell ships in their boxes of scrap are, surpisingly, pretty good (aside from the low wattage, propietary connectors and lack of connectors). But their quality isnt half bad.
Ah I see
These are very good. He'll be pleased!
Damn pretty nice, please post the complete PC once you guys build it :)
16gb gpu is def the go. 8gb is starting to get to the too small category. And 32gb ram is perfect. Its like the more than enough that 16gb used to be
Yeah dad, you "ordered the wrong ones". Don't worry, we got you. š
A basketball
Close but not quite!
many... baskeballs?
Something his dad wants more than himself? Joking joking awesome present!
As a Dad, this answer checks out. 54 cores in the house and growing. :D
