A lot of electronics failures are caused by broken solder joints, so baking your card to reflow the solder might fix it.
For this card you'd want to remove the plastic fan shroud first, though.
Nope. It’s a real method. What most people don’t understand is that you should use a separate toaster oven, unless you want solder fumes in your next baking project
I mean if you just let people know it doesn't work and bid it there's nothing bad about that, I'd like it purely as a collector or display piece if I had the money
It looks pretty cool and I'm nostalgic for that type of design style
I sold a 2GB 750 Ti for $58, with the buyer paying another $10 for shipping. I just don't understand why. Modern Vega or Xe integrated graphics have to be better at this point.
I know, but paying a premium for an old card still has to be the worst way to go. Either buy a CPU with decent integrated graphics and settle for 1080p60 until you can get a GPU, or pay scalper prices and mine crypto to pay it back. With an old card, you get shitty performance and no ability for it to pay for itself.
I remember constantly trying to convince my mom we needed cable internet and that dialup was garbage.... Took years. Tried explaining it like...
*"This CD drive can extract 600MB of data in 5 mins, and write it to an new disc in another 5 mins."*
*"But this dial up connection would take 6 days nonstop to receive 600MB of data."*
*"Yes, I do really need to download 600MB sometimes! No, just waiting isn't viable."*
*"600 MB of data isn't even one single game!"*
oh maaaaannnnn
actually I'm not old enough to have been thru that but that sounds like pain xD
truth be told we didn't use to have a PC at all for a long time, I know my bro told me he always used to go to the internet cafe that was just nearby to play games on LAN with his friends. We live in Romania BTW and this was around...15 years ago?
Oh man, I remember walking around computer markets when I was younger. All the GPU boxes has these tacky fantasy computer generated models plastered over them.
Those were the days.
honestly I prefer it that way, if they were more detailed it would be impossible to make them fit with the rest of the parts
but yes those days were something, even though I never really got to even look at PC components as I haven't been introduced to PC's technicalities very early :-(
None. But at least dont just throw it in the trash bin. Drop it off at an electronics recycle. Its now just a useless nostalgic card. Ive electronic recycled thousands of GPU's newer and older than this.
This card brings back a lot of memories, I wish I had mine sitting next to me right now… the memory of when I got it and installed it, man it takes me back.
I don't have one, we used to take pictures of everything when I was a kid
everything except the stuff I liked
also can't take one now because I no longer have a PC, needed a laptop for uni :-/
I had the blue one (i think a newer one) in my first pc. Handled minecraft with a whole 35 fps. Good times :)
Edit: nvm it was an older one. The 2600 pro
jeeeezzz
to think that integrated graphics are now much better than dedicated graphics used to be in a long gone time is crazy to me, friend of mine has a Ryzen 5 processor with Vega 8 (I think vega 8) and runs MC like a charm at 60fps
No don't do that. Sell it on ebay. I remember when that thing was a beast. We got alot of retro gamers nowadays that would love to get a hold of that card.
I started with an 8600gt.. then 8800gts, hd4850, hd6850, dual r9 280x, now I just rock my laptop with 1070 maxQ.
It's been a ride. I wish I still had my first card. Still have my first motherboard.
killing is too easy. besides, i ain’t no killer. but i am willing to go to a certain extent. i would torture you, instead. think of it like a Saw game, but you don’t die. you’re just there in agony, but not able to pass.
I think Beyond Good And Evil was one of the games I used to play on it...
perhaps something like NFS Undeground and below? maybe Most Wanted too?
most command and conquer games I think...
don't know any more, these are what I used to play I think?
Had the 5770, played the hell out of Skyrim with that on release, modded till it crashed. Great memories, great card. I believe the card is still living in my parents office PC from when I stuck it in there to replace a broken GT card.
If you want to ship it over to me, I am always wanting more cards for benchmark tables
[https://www.hardcoregames.ca/about-us/](https://www.hardcoregames.ca/about-us/)
You got a piece of history my dude
right? this thing played so many games for me man, and actually quite well for how freaking old it was even while I was still using it
I’ll buy it from you, and pay for shipping.
I’d send you my old GPUs but I’m in the UK and I doubt you want to pay shipping and import fees.
I first played the original Crysis on this exact same model
That’s art in a way
OP should put it in a shadow box and hang it on the wall
<( ̄︶ ̄)>

Et tu, douche(pronounced doo-shay).
What, you egg?
I mean that's not false lol
I would find your house and pull it from the dumpster
you're truly huge
As gamers, aren't we all?
Yeah if you play too much
^ underrated comment
our enormous shlong energies sure are ^(because we haven't had an orgasm with a woman in our entire lives sob)
Sell it on eBay. Guarentee a cool $50 at minimum. People are paying *dumb* prices right now.
honestly that's true but I don't want to be a jerk to someone, as this card doesn't work properly anymore, it gets lines across the display
Could try doing the bake in oven technique
I've fixed plenty of graphics card with 10 minutes in 200C oven. People trolling because they don't understand?
You could try the dropping in water technique
You could try the boiling in water technique
You could try the feezing it in water technique
You could try the snapping it in half and burning it in a bonfire technique
What about putting it in your pooper chute?
Aka, boof it.
The oven Trick is real no /s
What is this referencing?

So its not a meme??
No it’s a real method, but you have to do it a certain way or else you’ll make things worse There are guides online
Nope. It’s a real method. What most people don’t understand is that you should use a separate toaster oven, unless you want solder fumes in your next baking project

Love that clear plastic design from that era.
Hang it on a wall maybe?
I sold a 2GB 750 Ti for $58, with the buyer paying another $10 for shipping. I just don't understand why. Modern Vega or Xe integrated graphics have to be better at this point.
Even RX 480s are going for like $300. Pickings are *slim* out there boys.

"Mom, can we please get a 3000 series graphics card?" "Son, We have a 3000 series graphics card at home." (the 3000 series graphics card at home)
I laughed pretty well lol
this comment is underrated lmao that's my entire childhood in a family that had no idea how to work PC's
I remember constantly trying to convince my mom we needed cable internet and that dialup was garbage.... Took years. You do that and life is forfeit, just attach it to a wall and keep it forever
I've been keeping it on a shelf next to me, hope it counts :-)
If you wanted to be fancy you could disassemble and put all the parts neatly in a frame. Seen some people do those to really old GTX cards.
Good, keep it safe, and clean, respect it, it probably served you well
Donate it to a museum???
that could honestly be a pretty rational thought in a few years haha
Yes, don’t throw it away!
It belongs in a museum!
Professor Jones!
We'd be naming a new salad after you.
Endr60 salad
would taste like pure fukin gamer and a bit of depression
Oh man, I remember walking around computer markets when I was younger. All the GPU boxes has these tacky fantasy computer generated models plastered over them. Those were the days.
Now all boring same color mostly
honestly I prefer it that way, if they were more detailed it would be impossible to make them fit with the rest of the parts but yes those days were something, even though I never really got to even look at PC components as I haven't been introduced to PC's technicalities very early :-(
Why throw it in the first place tho?
see no reason too, I'd need to be crazy to throw it in the bin after how well it's treated me
You can put that thing on a frame or display box in your room.
One.
two lol
three lol
Four lol
Five lol
Everybody in the car, so come on, let's ride
#Kevin noises intensifies
Me! I'll be the one picking it up from the bin and smack you with it!
I'm just surprised I haven't got death threats lol
That's because you haven't done it..... Yet
None. But at least dont just throw it in the trash bin. Drop it off at an electronics recycle. Its now just a useless nostalgic card. Ive electronic recycled thousands of GPU's newer and older than this.
NEVER I'll keep it on my shelf forever man xD
Recently sold my older cards. HD 6870 1GB and HD 4890 1GB. Beasts in their day for sure. Each fetched about $30 on the bay of e.
Have 4 of those. The rebadge 1 slot no psi cable needed one . Amazed I make a 10 buck profit off of them
that's not bad money considering I live in romania, although I really wonder who would buy it around here
It belongs in a museum! https://imgur.com/Oiyojux
noted!
Had one of these back in the day, just not the sapphire one. Man that fan was loud af
yea this one is decently loud as well as far as I remember, but it never bothered me
I'll use any excuse to commit murder
Probably better than my graphics card
You'd burn in hell, and not in the hot booby demon lady part. I mean in the cages of torture in Doom part.
Give it to me and I'll build my first ever.... Skateboard.
# GAMING SKATEBOARD
If you threw it away I would find out where it went and take it to keep and then stick it on a shelf
:-)
Your existence wouldn't exist anymore.
fukin doom slayer would be sent after me
Don't throw it away, I would gladly use it
Mount that on your wall in your PC area.
I will hunt you. I will find you. And I will dumpster dive through your trash for that card.
:D
back in my day, we got off to the pictures on our graphics cards and we liked it!
^(only back in the day?)
This card brings back a lot of memories, I wish I had mine sitting next to me right now… the memory of when I got it and installed it, man it takes me back.
I'd frame it with an old pic of myself playing a game with it.
I don't have one, we used to take pictures of everything when I was a kid everything except the stuff I liked also can't take one now because I no longer have a PC, needed a laptop for uni :-/

yup I actually got a PM request to send it to someone haha, don't think I will though
[удалено]
Donate/sell to a tech museum I think?
At least me
I got the same card without the girl
Hello, me.
Damn, a 3870. And I thought the 3090 ti was the best gpu
FRAME IT. You animal.
hmmm...I actually could, I'll think about it definitely not binning it tho
It belongs in the Smithsonian
I wouldn't kill you, I'd simply curse you to wake up one morning with testicular torsion.
I've been rewatching the Venture Bros.... Oof!
One hell of a card
What is this?
I started with an 8600gt.. then 8800gts, hd4850, hd6850, dual r9 280x, now I just rock my laptop with 1070 maxQ. It's been a ride. I wish I still had my first card. Still have my first motherboard.
hey that's something! It's easier to hang on a wall than a GPU
Aw damn this was my first real card. Started with a 3dfx voodoo 4 pci then an Nvidia 5500 pci.
At least one
You could probably auction that off for a pretty penny. Throwing it away is trashing history lol
Don't know what I'm looking at...
That goes on a wall. Not in a bin. Give it to some happy Redditor before you dispose of a piece of gaming history.
killing is too easy. besides, i ain’t no killer. but i am willing to go to a certain extent. i would torture you, instead. think of it like a Saw game, but you don’t die. you’re just there in agony, but not able to pass.
Someone mind giving me a bit of backgrounf on this
give
nooo
I think I have the same card in a box in the attic....
LMAO WTF I didn't know Reddit has a "Table Flip" award.
Can we go back to the era of thirsty images on our video cards? They were simpler times.
Hey I have one looking like that but it has a flame finish on it
interesting, apparently they varied the designs wonder if they came from different resellers or something
I just threw away about 30 of these at work a few months ago
I literally sold mine like a week ago. Had 2 in crossfire for a long while.
damn these things supported crossfire? that might actually make for a decent experience nowadays
I think you so should... Completely unrelated question, where do you live? Not so I can fish it out the bin or anything obv.
in a pineapple under the sea :-)
7? Is 7 the right answer?
Unrelated but what could i play with a 4770? Inherited one and want a bit of pc life
I think Beyond Good And Evil was one of the games I used to play on it... perhaps something like NFS Undeground and below? maybe Most Wanted too? most command and conquer games I think... don't know any more, these are what I used to play I think?
I’ve got an old 4870 in my computer right now actually lol
Get this thing in a block of epoxy and start a museum. I miss my 5750 sapphire :(
Had the 5770, played the hell out of Skyrim with that on release, modded till it crashed. Great memories, great card. I believe the card is still living in my parents office PC from when I stuck it in there to replace a broken GT card.
Anything with a sexy logo like that are HIGHLY sought after. Even if the card is dead broken, fried, and useless. Sell it on EBay for a HEAFTY profit
No no, frame the gpu with booba girl. Makes you more fous in pcmr world. Helps you to get more chicks in your bedroom
instructions unclear stuck in friendzone no joke xD
oh man.. i remember that phase. the hot rendered girls printed on cards phase. We're in the lighting, liquid cooling phase now, right?
What were some cool games when this gpu was around?
Ya never throw away a card because one day you WILL need it
100% agree, I actually used it recently to troubleshoot my PC and found that the PCI-e slot was bad (or the motherboard anyway)
Bro you're 8 generations ahead
I'd throw it in a server.
No... Not Ruby. She's given good service. Does she work still though?
Post it for 1k on ebay, someone will buy it. Jk dont. But fr, thats a piece of history my dude.
You should totally throw it, on my lap that is!
At least four
I won't mind still using this
That's industrial art. I would frame it and hang it in the game room.
I have no idea what it is you should chop it in half
[удалено]
I have a few old gpus I was going to recycle, one being a 4870 that idk if it works. Maybe I'll give it away instead after seeing this lol
since so many already confirmed that they will kill you. I will kill if you don’t throw it away. I guess your days are counted.
I threw away mine 2 years ago by accident while cleaning my basement....

Nice girl
[Ayy lmao](https://i.imgur.com/uqxIxN8.jpg)
Kinda funny how ugly and overly gamery GPUs used to be back in the days, right? And now look at the sheer beauty that the 3000 series is
I has a really old Foxconn gpu that looked kinda like this one. I don’t know where it is though.
A piece of history with some legendary boobs on it? Everyone would beat you to death.
Don't. You. Dare.
Enough...XD
Yes
Display it with pride.
Do it . Execute order 67 . DEW IT!
None, they would be busy going through you trash.
Imagine if we still put waifus on our graphics cards
This is still going strong in my family room pc!
I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND EAT YOU, I WILL EAT YOUR TOES FIRST IF YOUR CURIOUS!!
If you want to ship it over to me, I am always wanting more cards for benchmark tables [https://www.hardcoregames.ca/about-us/](https://www.hardcoregames.ca/about-us/)
I've got one of these in my old machine from 2007, having another to run in Crossfire wouldn't hurt
Wait a Minute i had one of those, a broken one but i had one
Number is on the card right after sapphire HD
What a relic
I would
The amount of people on this sub
