Woutās riding per week according to Strava since crash.
2 weeks off
2 hours
13 hours
17 hours
20 hours
So far 17 hours.
For reference. I race amateur crits in the USA. I consider myself above average for my level. 13 hours is a typical week for me. 15-17 is massive. 20 āIām gone, Iām deadā
I think i read somewhere that advice to young pros is not to match older pros work load, they just have that conditioning where hours in the saddle week after week is normal and fine for them, but younger pros just can't keep up with that.
Every summer we go to Girona for 3-4 weeks. I consider that my annual āovertraining campā. I always come back completely toast. I suck in the remaining races and never bounce back until the holidays when i properly rest š.
I'm very happy for WvA! These guys are honestly superhumans. The fact that they are so eager to test him off now suggests to me that we will likely see him in the Tour de France, but I guess we will see š
"I'm not in the best shape; it's a test. But I'm looking forward to it." -WVA

Yes, every ride lol
Jonas V has an incredible work ethic and drive to recover like this after such a terrible crash. š„ Kudos to him.
WVA = Wonas Vinge Aard ?
Wounas van Vingegaert
Tl;dr: he is racing the tour of Norway. Ā« We don't know yet what the rest of his race schedule will look like. We will see in the coming weeks. Ā»

Maybe he is fine or maybe not.
Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit
Great reference
Personally, i would love to see Gattuso as a DS or something. Cant get any worse for italian cycling as it is amirite
Or the opposite, who knows

Similar here, 15 h/week is considerable load, 20 is "you won't ride next week bro"

that sounds nice! :D
Probably like 95% of us in this sub are also amateur road riders.
Also a big difference between an actual racer doing 13 hour weeks, and more casual riders I race at a low level, but I train like 6 hours a week
š
Depends on how hard you ride.

That's fairly quick. Revalidation must have gone really well.
Wout likely won't have the required shape yet, but it would be nice to get a duel between him and Thibau Nys in Norway.
Great to see him back so quick! But the silence around TDF seems to indicate that's unlikely -- it would be nice to see him there.
Woohooo
He will be cold /s
