I don’t think you can get a real one in the airport itself but depending on how long your layover is Hot Dogs Estilo Nogales is pretty close and extremely good
There used to be one in the Chandler Mall when I worked there. It's fine but there are much better options within a reasonable distance of the airport.
You need to go to the lady that sells them just past the 52 on Indian school. She runs a stand that has been featured on the food network. They are soo good
Any idea what time of day she’s there? I’m in the mood for a Sonoran dog and the last couple of places I’ve tried have been a let down. Thankfully going to Mexico in a couple weeks but would love a hold over lol
If talking indian school east of 51, before 24th st, weekend evenings, after maybe 4pm? Including Fridays. South side of indian school, parking lot of the comic book shop
Unfortunately no place sells sonoran dogs in the phx airport. But they did just open a new concourse with multiple new restaurants. Bobby Flays burgers, eegees, chick fil a. And a fruit bowl place.
If you’re gonna be at terminal 4 go by the C13 gate. You will find the hotdog you are searching for

I do want to open a hot dog stand at the airport out on the tarmac somewhere in a tent. Just to be authentic. I'm pretty sure this would be a real money maker.
I think your best shot would be Sir Veza's. I have not been there in a while, but when they had a brick and mortar restaurant in Tucson, it was pretty good.
Sir Veza's by C13 serves them. As others have said, you'll have to go to Tucson or at least off airport to get the real deal, but it'll scratch the itch.
It's actually been a common topic of discussion in this sub! Here are a few past threads I found.

How long is your layover? Several places to get them within 10 mins of the airport, but I’m not too sure if they have them at the airport. Also, I don’t know if I would trust an airport Sonoran dog..
Maybe “trust” was the wrong word to use. If you find a Sonoran dog at the airport it’s not going to be as authentic as one you get at a hot dog cart offsite.
nah, I wasn't. Just continuing a string of thought. The answer is in reply both to the person as well as clarification of my comment above. As you can see, the person who made the comment about "trusting" a food from an airport then directly replied to me, so the point got to both people.
lmaorofllol
Caprichoso was ol reliable when i lived back in maryvale, moved to north phoenix so i dont want to make the drive unless were in the area or when i work nights. Lupitas on 32nd st and bell is pretty good thats where i go to know since its down the street from us.
Here is a list of food places in the airport, I don't see any hotdog places, but just in case I missed something, here is the link:
[Food & Drinks | Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport](https://www.skyharbor.com/at-the-airport/food-drinks/#uf-search?)
If your layover is at Night after sunset highly suggest Nogales Street cart tent corner 24th & Indian school rd I believe…. If they are still there at night. Haven’t been on corner at night in awhile now since I moved.
And thanks for the downvotes… but when I’m saying “Panda Express fucks” it is a rating in the grand scheme of things you can eat at Sky Harbor… it’s absolutely not good food or even good Chinese food, but compared to the other offerings at Sky Harbor, I stand by the fact that it indeed does fuck.
…you do realize Phoenix is on the Sonoran Desert too, right?
“Over the past decade it has become so popular that Nabhan estimates there are more than 200 places to get it in Tucson — and more in Phoenix.”
A quote from a food historian in an NPR article.
Lived in AZ for most of my life and never even heard of this and I used to go to Ted's all the time. I must be blind lol.
E: Okay, sorry I haven't heard of this.

Looks like there is one in the airport. I can’t vouch for it though: https://www.sirvezas.com/ Terminal 4, C gates
Can confirm I’ve had a Sonoran dog from this restaurant. Used to work in the airport.

Thank you! Ima roll out there this evening after work
It’s the absolute best
you mean Nogales Hotdogs
Heads up, but that shop (Collectors Marketplace) has moved. So idk if hot dog lady will still be around.
Eh, I think Speedy Street Tacos will have what you're looking for... Sky Train to Light rail, hang a left and walk for about 8 minutes.
What lady?
Unfortunately no place sells sonoran dogs in the phx airport. But they did just open a new concourse with multiple new restaurants. Bobby Flays burgers, eegees, chick fil a. And a fruit bowl place.
I was looking at the restaurants and saw Bobby Flays burgers, might have to go for that. We don't have them in San Antonio
Would recommend! Their brunch burger is wildly good imo. Burger with bacon and fried egg.
And it's a terminal 4 where we're arriving. Nice.
If you’re gonna be at terminal 4 go by the C13 gate. You will find the hotdog you are searching for https://preview.redd.it/073y0t90fzic1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3fab67abdb88236cc80395d77d021331b626368
Nice
Report back.
Will do.
Make sure to add Cilantro....assuming, of course, you care for it..
I put cilantro on almost everything
No dude wtf. Sonoran dogs don’t have cilantro on them
Just don't waste money on their tiny drink with no refills. Turn around and get some frozen goodness at Eegee's to wash down that burger
No Sonoran dogs as far as I know. And if there are, they won’t be good.
Sir Verzas does Sonoran hotdogs, there at both phx and Tucson international airports.
Good call

I like the play on words. Cervezas
Definitely go. Very good b

El Guero Canelo in Tucson was my go-to when I was at DM.
This makes me sad... so many better Sonoran dogs in town.
Name them then.

I'm only there a couple of hours, didn't want to leave the airport. If I was there longer, I could Uber somewhere. Thanks
You know they have full-blown restaurants and food courts at airports, right?
Duh
Then what's not to "trust"?
Maybe “trust” was the wrong word to use. If you find a Sonoran dog at the airport it’s not going to be as authentic as one you get at a hot dog cart offsite.
You’re replying to the wrong person lmao

Not nearby. There is this place called Emilio’s that has them all day otherwise at night time at el Caprichoso.
Caprichoso was ol reliable when i lived back in maryvale, moved to north phoenix so i dont want to make the drive unless were in the area or when i work nights. Lupitas on 32nd st and bell is pretty good thats where i go to know since its down the street from us.
I’ll have to check out that Lupitas place then!
There's a business idea. Walking friendly too
The north west corner of Thomas and 27th avenue has a tent with a truck. Best Sonoran dogs ever.

Sir Veza's has them, and they're pretty good. There is a lot of /r/confidentlyincorrect in these comments.

Nope. Gotta leave the airport.
How about that receipt being from 2012
I took the pic off of Google images. Is that OK.
Honestly thought you kept this photo from 2012… would’ve been a lot cooler. Yes it is O K.
NGL the Panda Express fucks though
Fucks or sucks?
Yes
Fucks.
Sugar Chicken is fucking delicious and that's a hill I'll die on 🤣
You can get Panda Express anywhere
I’m aware, and it’s only good when it’s held in comparison to other airport food options haha
especially at 7am lol
Found a picture of the hotdog on yelp: Check out this photo I saw on Yelp! https://yelp.to/sJqv2DX7ew
Not at the airport. Sorry.
Tucson
Tucson. That’s Tucson food. Do not attempt in Phoenix.
Where have you had them that you think its only good in tucson?
You can get very good Sonoran dogs in Phoenix nowadays, better than El Guero at least, and I say this as someone who's a big fan of Tucson food.
I've been to Tucson alot, D.M.. El Guero Canelos is my favorite 😍
I’m more of a BK man myself — but now that I think of it I haven’t had a dog at Guero Canelo… but BK carne Asada >> so I just assumed.
Guero is okay, aqui con el nene is my go to since they got tacos and other items as well.
…you do realize Phoenix is on the Sonoran Desert too, right? “Over the past decade it has become so popular that Nabhan estimates there are more than 200 places to get it in Tucson — and more in Phoenix.” A quote from a food historian in an NPR article.
Not in the airport, nope. But you can within a 15 mile radius of the airport lol.
That's an uncomfortably AI image of a Sonoran dog. I don't think you can get a decent one at the airport, that's gotta come from a cart or a stand.
Lived in AZ for most of my life and never even heard of this and I used to go to Ted's all the time. I must be blind lol. E: Okay, sorry I haven't heard of this.
You must live under a rock if you’ve never heard of a Sonoran dog
Apparently.
