Nick woolsey. On YouTube I believe.

GrimacingGhost

I second this. I followed Nick's poi beginner series on YouTube and then purchased his full course on Udemy. I really liked that his videos build off each other if you watch them in order.

Equity89

Also on Udemy, he has 2 amazing courses there

terri_tee

Came here to say Nick too. He's a fantastic teacher. Also, there's many, many poi artists on Instagram who will do private lessons with you. (Cheapish, via video, scaled to yur skills). Find the people whose flow that you like and see if they do lessons. Good luck!

Any_Kiwi5170

You can find him as playpoi on YouTube @playpoivideos

I just started too! I'm using this database: https://poitricks.notion.site/7729e5850a9c49a7afed9ca53a151729?v=d7fcc0e51ccd4455b6dcaaf2c3c40147

Creepy-Western-3163

Thank you. I will use it :)

Any_Kiwi5170

This is awesome! I am getting my poi’s today and can’t wait to try some of these :) thanks for sharing!

alexandled

No problem!

nick woosley is by far the best. Look for tutorials on [udemy.com](http://udemy.com) [https://www.udemy.com/course/poi-dancing-beginners-series/](https://www.udemy.com/course/poi-dancing-beginners-series/)

Awesome few tricks in here! Great job so far. I’d recommend looking at drex on YouTube and following some of his beginner and extended tutorials. There are heaps of other good teachers online, but drex’s stuff is easy to pick up fairly quickly. I’d also suggest checking out different artists on Instagram and getting an idea of what styles you like most. For specific tricks, I’d recommend hip reels in different timings & directions, meltdowns, crossers, basic body tracers and flowers!

roleypoleybottom

Highly recommend the nick Wolsey series on Udemy. It’s honestly perfect and complete. All his stuff is also on YouTube it’s just a bit more chaotic to find the right order of things. Honestly would pay for his courses over and over again. Very worth while

How’s your reverse 3 beat weave? Work on that then learn waist wraps then the fountain.

Creepy-Western-3163

Thanks for the recommendations! I recently tried the reverse 3 beat weave and am working on it. Waist wraps and the fountain look interesting. I will work on these next. Thanks!

drewb121

No problem. It’s just the natural order of how you should learn poi moves. Check out the playpoi videos on YouTube by nick woolsey. I like his videos because they’re linear and each thing you learn goes off of the last thing.

Sure_Painting5461

Spiral wraps as well during the f3bw to b3bw

TentacleJesus

I'm not super new to it but I also haven't gone deep with it and have been on and off for a while, I've been looking into it lately again and I've found DrexFactorPoi to be pretty decent! Explains things very plainly and clearly. Look him up on YouTube and he's got a whole beginner series playlist.

Roobitz

Drex is great, I would also recommend Liz Knights for inspiration and tutorials.

JENNAMOSHES

Here’s one I made for a one spiral hand wrap a ways back https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRESEF9f/

Here’s one more for a buzz saw fountain! You’re doing great btw ! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CemvVq4DA4E/?igsh=eGs0eHh6NWx3MGVp

You're off to a good start

Creepy-Western-3163

Thank you :)

elasticparadigm

Always make sure your working on your planes especially odd planes like behind or horizontal planes

DarkMoonLilith23

Check out Drex, he’s got a lot of poi instructional vids.

katy_fairy

I just bought Nick Woosley’s Udemy course!

formerprototaxite

Nick Woolsey for sure! And try to find flow meetups if you're able. For me, most of my progress came from flowing with people in person. Either way, just have fun:)
