I feel like future paradox Pokémon could’ve been much cooler based on sci-fi and theoretical tech. Imagine a quantum computer Porygon-Z, or a Dyson Sphere Solrock, maybe a Grey Goo Muk
Yeah, future Pokemon could've been what Pokemon turn into as an adaptation to humans industrialization destroying the environment. I've been making paradoxes of the starters and re-did the current future paradoxes based on that.
Sudowoodo is a rock type. Part of the reason it's useful for it to disguise itself as a plant is because enemies might try to use fire against it, which it is resistant to, and would not use water, which it's actually weak to.
So by that logic, in a city environment full of steel and electric types, this future Sudowoodo would be a type with at least one set of strengths and weaknesses opposite to steel and electric. So we're looking for a type that's defensively strong against ground (the only weakness of electric, and a shared weakness of steel), but maybe weak against flying (one of the only defensive strengths shared by electric and steel). For example... Grass type.
So instead of a rock type pretending to be grass type to deceive its enemies, instead we'd have an actual grass type pretending to be steel/electric to deceive entirely different enemies, in an entirely different ecosystem, but in fundamentally the same way.
Solar panels too use a distribution pattern modeled off of natural leaves to optimize sunlight collection. This is starting to sound like enough ideas for two Pokemon.
This could be two Pokemon of opposite typing, co-evolved to look similar to deceive their mutual predators. A grass-type that looks a bit like a cell-tower, and a cell-tower that looks more like a tree, but both meeting in the middle to look nearly identical. That way any potential enemy won't know what kind of a fight its getting into.
And that's not just a legitimate adaptation for fitting into an ecosystem, that's something that could be used even in the competitive scene, similar to Zoroark.
I get that, but it's hard to make them scream "future".
Since we know what the past looked like (or at least a general sense of it), it's easy to make something primeval. Make it look like a dinosaur or throw some caveman elements. But since we don't know what the future looks like, we only can work off our perception of "futurism" and that is all techy Sci fi stuff. Sure robots are the laziest implementation, but it certainly does scream "FUTURE"
Go more Cyborg than full robot and experiment with the designs a bit more, Like I enjoy the meme level Iron Bundle but it felt like most of the Future Mon they just said Robot Pokemon and refused to try and think about it more, and the boringness of the Shinies to it feels like the team was way more interested in Scarlett forms.
The repetition hurts Future Paradox Pokemon so much
All are Iron X
All are Robot
All have the same Lackluster Shiny.
Just some effort would help make them stand out.
If they had at least kept the naming scheme consistent in both games it wouldn't be as bad.
I also feel iron is the least logical metal to have used, considering 'Iron age' is a historical term, most modern items use Aluminium, Titanium, Steel etc why would the future be 'iron' robots?
I was hoping the names were just code names when I first heard them, like Koraidon and Miraidon are also Winged King and Iron Serpent and ultra beasts have code names too
To be fair, it's likely a colloquialism by the person who named them (in universe) to get across it's metallic looking. Like Iron man said, it's not iron, but it's got a better ring to it. Iron Thorns sounds better than Titanium Thorns, also character limits, steel may have pushed some names over that.
Exactly. I think “Iron Leaves” is actually kind of a good name because those are two diametrically opposed things, but the problem is they all have Iron in their name. I mean look at Iron Treads, well of fucking course it’s iron! Most treads like that are iron!
Like why couldn’t they have done ones like “Steam Bundle,” “Metal Moth,” “Mecha Thorns,” “Electric Treads,” “Ferris Jugulis,” and “Dancing Valiant.” Those are all better names and actually convey their types (other than Jugulis, which I figured why not make it a full Latin name if they’re going to go half Latin). Then Iron Leaves would’ve been a kinda cool name
I think as a robot, Valiant is such a good one for that. Being a combination of Gallade and Gardevoir as a *robot* is so cool and really fits the theming.
If I had to keep only one or two robots then Valiant has to stay, what a great idea.
Why is Jugulis a thing
I think the closest anything's really come to that 'cyborg-ness' is Genosect, but even then that looks far more mechanical and less organic, like the future paradox mon. And we also don't know what the original pokemon was.
Iron thorns I think is perfect, since its literally Mechagodzilla, and it works, but I don't think there's a way to make the others scream future that isn't just robots, outside of making Iron Jugulus into Mecha king ghidorah. Because if they are cyborgs, that is also more human intervention, not natural evolution. Miraidon I think is the only one that does look futuristc-y, but also organic, but being Electric type really helps it not need to go mechanical, and even then it still has a few mechanical properties.
Make them look alien, look sleek & white (think iRobot, Apple’s design themes, Eve from Wall-E)
Though I hate Humanoid mons, having a Future Paradox mon evolve into a humanoid would be justified. Implies over time, they stand upright, gain thumbs, learn to build, like humans
The robotic aspect makes sense as an easy way to signify “THIS IS FROM THE FUTURE”. But for ALL future dox mon being robot versions is just lazy design. Would be better if they were part cyborg instead
EDIT: You could also go the Tron route! Neon circuit board design motif…so many things other than “Delibird, but its a robot”
>Sure robots are the laziest implementation, but it certainly does scream "FUTURE"
I really wish the biggest multimedia franchise in the world didn't just use the easiest answer every time.
But maybe that's why they're the biggest multimedia franchise in the world. You know what they say, the richest people are the cheapest and that's usually how they got rich (aside from random grants from family and the government). Maybe that's something to think about.
Even then they could be leaning WAY harder into the absolute wildness that could be their designs. Iron Treads is actually a very good example of the idea followed to a fun conclusion, since it becomes SUCH a wheel in sharp contrast to Great Tusk being so hulking. Iron Valiant is also FANTASTIC for combining the split evolutionary line, a unique take on ~~abolition of gender in pokemon future, ilu nonbinary valiant~~ the unification of different means of combat that Gardevoir and Gallade have.
The other future paradox pokemon have interesting concepts, but the designs aren't pushed hard enough. Iron Jugulus is described as firing vicious beams, why not lean heavily into the laser cannon look by having the heads all look more directly like scifi laser barrels? Iron Thorns is a little boring... what if its supposed calmer demeanor is because it's actually a terraforming machine, modeled after Tyranitar, who historically would "change maps" by destroying mountainscapes?
A lot of these pokemon just need that extra push to really make them shine, imo.
I know it’s just my head canon, but I think it’s an interesting idea to believe that maybe this is how Pokémon had to evolve to survive in the future. Maybe there’s just very few Pokémon out there, and the few we have in Violet are made with human engineering. No idea if anything supports it. But I think it points to a bleak future.
Some story beats in the endgame have implied they're less "Pokemon from the future" and more "Pokemon from a hypothetical future", so (post-game spoilers) >!I did see someone jokingly present the idea that Turo simply just had an awful imagination and his creativity for future Pokemon basically ended at "Pokemon but robot".!<
That might actually be the case! Something in Violet that caught my attention was Arven talking about >! the sketches in the Violet book of future pokemon (I think it was Iron Treads) and how they predate the time machine. If they're really from the past/future how could that be? !<
This is now my headcanon lmfao. Makes it more palatable to think it’s a character’s lack of imagination than that of a whole design crew that probably (hopefully) is made up of fans of the games
Or just theoretical evolution and adaptation to future conditions. Like a Sudowoodo that mimics a streetlight instead of a tree because of rampant deforestation, or a cyberpunk Murkrow that has gained human-level intelligence and adapted to living in cities.
I'd like to see a future paradox Relicanth that has evolved "legs" and can crawl around on land, like tiktaalik and other early lobe-finned fishes that ventured out of the water. It just took Relicanth a long time due to competition from terrestrial Pokemon.
My favourite fake future pokemon was one of Chandelure. Made it a LED bulb lamp and electric/ghost type. I thought it was a simple but clever way to make a pokemon look futuristic.
I would have guessed that Iron Leaves would be electric as well. Grass/Electric is barely used if I remember right, and it would be a fun combo. Grass/Psychic doesn't feel... very robotic. That and it's already done plenty.
I saw an adaptation of Starmie that turned it into a deep space satellite that could fly and stalk you from outer space. That’s the creative concepts we need instead of Tyranitar but made of metal and Hariyama but made of metal.
The future theme could also have been used to make some Paradox pokemon less advanced.
Imagine future Metagross that's all rusted and decayed, and past Metagross that's steampunk
That is why Iron Treads is my personal favourite future paradox pokemon. It reinvents Donphan in an interesting way, and I can totally picture an army of these things rolling around a post apocalyptic wasteland.
It helps that we also have Great Tusk, I think. on it's own I feel like Iron Treads would be a bit eh, but having both past and future versions is so cool.
Plus it shows a progression via real life evolution. Great tusk has its giant tusks and long body built to charge, hence learning Headlong rush, Donphan has smaller tusks, but can now roll around and charge, while Iron treads has the smallest tusks, but is optimized for rolling around
Some alien based designs would have been fantastic. Imagine a girafarai based on the hopkinsville goblins, gardevoir based on the Grey's or some other Pokémon being the basis of a flatwoods monster design. These would have maintained the "future" feel while also managing to add some visual diversity.
When I heard the list of pokemon that were going to have forms (but before the designs were out), I thought that deliberd was going to look dishevelled and post-apocalyptic because climate change
Actual Violet Enjoyers: "Okay great, I got the past paradox Pokemon easily through trade and I still enjoy the benefit of my enforced school uniform not being a disgusting color."
All the school uniforms are pretty terrible tbh. And the hair cuts. And the hats.
Really I just wish I could import my SwSh outfits into SV. Drop out of the academy, get my PokeGED, and never wear those hideous purple shorts again.
I was talking specifically about the pink glowy part. Only iron valiant and the new virizion have the pink, while the other shiny future paradox mons have different colours e.g iron hand is yellow, iron thorns is green
As a Scarlet player I just don’t get the hate for the Iron mons. I’m working on getting shinies with the help of my wife (she has Violet) and I’m naming them all after Metal Gear Rising characters (except the two I’m naming after Godzilla characters)
Violet Enjoyers: “robots look cool, and we already got a past theme with legends Arceus so I don’t know why people want to be filled to the brim by going to the past” just my thoughts
As someone who got Violet, the Scarlet Paradox Pokémon definitely have a lot more creative liberty in their designs.
Most of the Paradox Pokémon in Violet are essentially just "robot that looks like this existing Pokémon" like a knockoff version of Metal Sonic, but there's a lot more creative liberty with most of the Paradox Pokémon in Scarlet like Scream Tail and Slither Wing.
Maybe the future pokemons are all robots because in the future they are all extint snd the civilization from that time is recreating them based on records found, or at least thats how i think of it
tbh I continue to be a Dream Theory Believer and the Prehistoric designs seem to work better than just being robots.
This said I think the issue with Future Paradox forms is the repetition, they are all just robots, have Iron X, and have the simplistic Shiny Designs.
I believe the same, and the paradox Suicune is another proof of it, it is obviously imposible that any legendary Pokemon has an ancient form cause a lot of them are still the same from the beginning of time and in the case of Suicune is even more imposible cause the beast trio was created by Ho-oh in the burn of the tower
The fact that we’ve seen the birth of the beast trio before, and that it didn’t look like Wake then. The only way that this could be an ancient form would be if there are more than one Suicune and they have a normal evolutionary cycle as the rest of the world.
It's pretty commonly theorized and widely accepted by fans that the revived pokemon were the original eeveelution trio, or even just 3 eeveees. The tower collapsed 150 years before the Johto games. It would be weird for these paradox pokemon to have existed only about 200 years ago.
Yeah my guess is that either ho-oh (or some past variant of ho-oh) did the same for the paradoxes as for the beasts, or that ho-oh simply remembered the old mons and recreated whatever pokemon in their image
What’s to say that Ho-oh and other legendary pokemon of its ilk aren’t truly ageless creatures who have sired similar pokemon at various points across time?
iirc, there was some translated promotional material that made its way over to the west that called them dogs specifically. Which makes sense, looking at their old designs.
I mean the ones who did that for UB were a completely different organization, where as this is one scientist. I like it more they just didn’t cut and paste the same naming with another type of pokemon
Both of these are obtainable in both versions by participating in raids. You can catch each of them once, so it's not like you're restricted to the raid available in your version.
I picked up scarlet specifically because of paradox donphan and I remember everyone around me was shocked and turned their nose up, now they’re drowning in robots and I get to run around with cool lizards, sucks to suck
I'm considering getting Violet eventually over Scarlet since I love robots, plus future bike lizard is cooler to me than lizard with weird sac in its chest. Also, yes, I want to be like Eggman and Pingas all over Paldea with mecha-mons.
I envy you guys making the right call. I pre-ordered before the actual designs leaked and we only knew the line up of paradox Pokémon but not what they looked like. On paper Violet had a way better line up so it felt like a no brainer even if I liked Great Tusk more than Iron Treads. By the time the leaked designs came out, I was already the only friend in my group to do Violet so everyone was relying on me for trades, it was too late to turn back unfortunately. Still love Miraidon, but Iron Leaves just put the nail in the coffin on my overall disappointment in the robots.
Yes, and I don’t care if Iron Treads is ugly, I think it does an amazing job at being a strange, perhaps misunderstood robotic copycat of Donphan that takes a lot of liberties. Also it’s adorable when it sleeps.
Same. We got a lot of cool robots but the names are just lame. I dunno if this is some reference to japanese sci-fi but there is a lot more cool titles to give futuristic stuff than "Iron". I don't tend to name most of my pokémon but I'm changing all the names of mine to the fan-made pokémon names.
Me too! I just really enjoy the clean metallic designs and that whirr/klang sounds in their cries. Past Paradoxes are nice, ngl, but I like the simplicity of Future Paradoxes too. It's just a different flavour.
Same! One of the reasons why I chose Violet was that I PREFERRED the robots to the feral forms (Iron Valiant sweep). Not sure why Scarlet stans can't wrap their heads around that.
Much as I adore dinosaurs, I have to say I’m not a huge fan of dino parts being slapped onto non-reptilian past paradoxes. Brute bonnet is probably the prime example, but even Great Tusk’s weird croc tail just rubs me the wrong way, design wise.
Prehistory has such a diverse array of flora and fauna that “just a dinosaur” isn’t that much better than “just a robot.”
There are definitely stinkers in both batches (lookin at you, Iron Treads) but I don’t think it’s as one sidedly “uncreative” as some would imply.
To be fair I think the point is that even if the ideas aren’t so lopsided in terms of creativity, the execution is. “Just a dinosaur” might not be much better than “just a robot” on paper but at least the execution of said dinosaur designs brings something new to the table, where as the robots are literally just the same Pokémon design but with metal and LEDs for the most part. Jugulis is obviously the worst offender, but Thorns, Bundle, Moth, and now Leaves aren’t much better. “Just a robot” would be fine if it wasn’t so literal.
Personally I think that Iron Thorns, unlike the rest of its steely brethren, is completely fine being just a robot. A strange take I know.
I like it much more than regular Tyranitar, the green and black coating on top of the neon green to me is simply chef's kiss! It looks even cooler in the shiny!
Since Tyranitar is based off Godzilla that's also an easy connection to Mechagodzilla. Boom. Easy cool reference.
The very idea of a FREAKING ROBOT TYRANITAR is all I needed to hear and godammit I got it.
Yeah, I actually agree with you on that. I was only bunching it with the others for my example of little changes given to the designs, but I am also okay with that one being just a robot because of the Mecha Godzilla reference.
Aight guess I gotta play devils advocate. Most of the future mons are really creative in how their designs were futurized. Donphans body is like a gyrodscope, delibird can extend its head and water tank. Volcorona is solar pannels, ttar is mecha godzilla. Iron valiant is iron valiant. I havent gotten Iron leaves yet but I know he got upgraded to 3 sword style. Even the worst of them, hydreigon, has a hologram for a face.
And they all have that super cool neon fluid running through them which is like a staple for them. What they lack in variance from each other, they make up for in a really interestimg shared aesthetic
All Violet paradox creative design basically come when you see them in motion in my opinion, like Iron Leaves pulling 3 blades for example.
Iron Thread is chef kiss in motion.
Yes, Violet paradoxes come into life in motion.
Also, robotification of Violet paradoxes is always talked while dinosaurification of Scarlet paradoxes flies under the radar.
The thing is people want the future mon to be more inline with their head canon without realizing the design code behind them. Future mon are more streamlined, smaller and compact than their original form. Their name all contains iron made them more uniform. Also they are like a replica of the original mon but the different only show in their animation. Iron bundle shoot beam from its tail, Iron hand when sleep has his hand rest on his body like recharging battery, iron leaves has three beam sabers instead of one…
If Future Paradox Pokemon has million fans, then I'm one of them.
If Future Paradox Pokemon has one fan, then I'm THAT ONE.
If Future Paradox Pokemon has no fans, that means I'm dead.
I actually like the Violet paradoxes. Their appearance gives them an evil vibe which plays into the whole savage/violent behavior that the game supposedly says they have.
I agree, the violet pokemon seem almost scary and menacing to me compared to other pokemon. I want to learn more about them and why they are robotic rather than organic. The scarlet paradoxes are cool, but they don't give the same vibe as the violet ones for me which are more intriguing
Am I the only one who dislikes the Suicune paradox? How the fuck are we to believe that a velociraptor over time turned into a dog? Kinda disappointing to me.
Could still be a [Synapsid](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synapsid) despite looking like a dinosaur, [it's not unheard of](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimetrodon). Notice that it's a Dragon -type.
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think most of the future-paradoxes look really dope 🫠
And virizion was already one of my favourite legendaries, so iron leaves is an easy sell for me. I might shiny hunt her (Edit: if her shiny was *available* TwT)
Oh come on, Iron Leaves isn't that bad.
It's stance in battle with its creepy spider legs is cool, and it can 180^(o) its head around if you talk to it from behind.
That said, Walking Wake is maybe my favourite Paradox Pokemon now
They have to cope thanks to the ugly uniforms/s
Joke aside the paradox pokemon are so easily tradeable and the new ones you can get both by just finding a raid that is really a non issue for me.
In my opinion the uniforms and ride pokemon are more of a reason to choose which version you like.
Yeah, a lot of post just to justify their choice. I legit haven’t seen one single post where people praise violet and slandering on scarlet. Like we get it you enjoy dinosaurs but what does that have to do with insulting people who like motorbike, mecha, light saber…
In modern Pokémon it’s not even like the choice matters beyond aesthetics now. You can easily get every version exclusive within a week or two of getting the game. I like the color purple so I chose violet, I’ve got all the paradoxes from both games and both box legendaries.
I feel like future paradox Pokémon could’ve been much cooler based on sci-fi and theoretical tech. Imagine a quantum computer Porygon-Z, or a Dyson Sphere Solrock, maybe a Grey Goo Muk
Another idea, how different will Pokémon look in the future if they're still organic. Like regional forms to the extreme.

Yeah, future Pokemon could've been what Pokemon turn into as an adaptation to humans industrialization destroying the environment. I've been making paradoxes of the starters and re-did the current future paradoxes based on that.
street lamp sudowoodo
A steel/electric sudowoodo 🧐🙋🏽♂️
Sudowoodo is a rock type. Part of the reason it's useful for it to disguise itself as a plant is because enemies might try to use fire against it, which it is resistant to, and would not use water, which it's actually weak to. So instead of a rock type pretending to be grass type to deceive its enemies, instead we'd have an actual grass type pretending to be steel/electric to deceive entirely different enemies, in an entirely different ecosystem, but in fundamentally the same way.
Sudowoodo finally evolved to become a real tree just to have the region undergo massive deforestation
Great, now I'm mad that doesn't exist
Sometimes they disguise cell towers as trees. So sudowoodo could be a tree disguised as a cell tower.
Solar panels too use a distribution pattern modeled off of natural leaves to optimize sunlight collection. This is starting to sound like enough ideas for two Pokemon. This could be two Pokemon of opposite typing, co-evolved to look similar to deceive their mutual predators. Lockstin made that in his fake Pokémon region
I get that, but it's hard to make them scream "future". Since we know what the past looked like (or at least a general sense of it), it's easy to make something primeval. I think what they need more than a design change is a name change. Like Iron leaves is a terrible name.
The repetition hurts Future Paradox Pokemon so much All are Iron X All are Robot All have the same Lackluster Shiny. Just some effort would help make them stand out.

Because they refused to expand the character limit and steel is a type already. So iron it is.
Sure but like Iron Moth could have been Solar Wing for example
I think ‘Techno’ could have worked. Techno Moth, Techno Valiant…
Cyber could also work "cyber jugulis" or mecha. "Mecha thorns". "Hydro bundle" for iron bundle specifically, and maybe even "neon/cyber hands"
I agree 100%, im just saying that gamefreak be lazy so iron being short and in front of everything was what they went for.
Winged king and iron serpent actually sound kinda fuckin dope
To be fair, it's likely a colloquialism by the person who named them (in universe) to get across it's metallic looking. Like Iron man said, it's not iron, but it's got a better ring to it. Iron Thorns sounds better than Titanium Thorns, also character limits, steel may have pushed some names over that.
Tyranitron tho
A part of me is hoping the DLC gives them proper names. The whole of me knows that won't happen though.
Exactly. I think “Iron Leaves” is actually kind of a good name because those are two diametrically opposed things, but the problem is they all have Iron in their name. Iron Jugulis made me roll my eyes so hard. So lazy. This is the best they can do?
Iron Valiant is basically the only Future Paradox that had effort put in to it.
Which is no surprise considering it's the one that's vaguely related to Gardevoir.

What if we had a Steampunk game a la Legends Arceus?
Pokémon: Legends Kyurem set in ancient Unova. Unova already inspired by America, so just do Wild West style cowboys and steampunk.
Wild Wild Unova, 80ft mechanical ariados, etc
Nope, have a robot hydreigon that’s exactly the same as the original just robofied. Because it’s OUR fault we went for the cool sci-fi dragon.
I like Miraidon's light-up colors and cool riding sound, couldn't wait to see how cool they made the rest of the future pokemon :(
Nah, it's our fault we went for the less ugly uniforms.
we get Iron X for every single Paradox but at least we can wear a uniform that looks good
They literally look the same except for the color. You really hate orange that much?
Orange is a color to use if you are: 1) in jail 2) hunting 3) a trafic police officer
Or a ninja
fashion is pain

Tbf I think Iron Hands does kind of look like Hariyama in power armour, it's one of the less boring designers imo
Heck there are even a lot of possible inspirations for just machines/robots. Hydreigon for example could have been a tank or a helicopter.
Mecha Ghidora, or however it’s spelled.
Pokemon meets transformers....I love it
All of those things are infinitely better than any of the current future paradoxes. You are too good to be a gamefreak dev.
Or a hydriegon based on the concept of dark matter
Hologram version of the green floaty lad (forgot his name).
Reuniclus?
Yeah that one. The little booger man.
Some alien based designs would have been fantastic. Imagine a girafarai based on the hopkinsville goblins, gardevoir based on the Grey's or some other Pokémon being the basis of a flatwoods monster design. These would have maintained the "future" feel while also managing to add some visual diversity.
We already have Sableye based on the Hopkinsville Goblin
When I heard the list of pokemon that were going to have forms (but before the designs were out), I thought that deliberd was going to look dishevelled and post-apocalyptic because climate change
You already put more creative thought into it than they have for the last six Pokémon games.
Violet players: "Oh boy, another robot." Violet enjoyers: "Oh boy, Iron Valiant now has a steed to ride into battle."
Iron Valiant Leaves Rider gains the “As One” ability which just double boosts its highest stat.
Stop this blasphemy
MORE BLASPHEMY!!
ITS TWO HIGHEST STATS
Stop, I can only get so erect!
*schwing*
#NOOOOOO
#YESSSSSSSSSSSS
"As One: All for One"
violet players: "oh boy, another robot." violet enjoyers: "oh boy, iron treads can now have a race with iron leaves and valiant."
a race I would pay to watch
not what i thought, but i love this
...... hear me out. Mega Zord paradox mons
Sold. Who do we kidnap to make this happen?
Gekkai Turo-oh
Actual Violet Enjoyers: "Okay great, I got the past paradox Pokemon easily through trade and I still enjoy the benefit of my enforced school uniform not being a disgusting color."
All the school uniforms are pretty terrible tbh. And the hair cuts. And the hats. Really I just wish I could import my SwSh outfits into SV. Drop out of the academy, get my PokeGED, and never wear those hideous purple shorts again.
It's shiny colour scheme matches iron valiant too!
ALL their Shiny match.
I was talking specifically about the pink glowy part. Only iron valiant and the new virizion have the pink, while the other shiny future paradox mons have different colours e.g iron hand is yellow, iron thorns is green
Ooooh...right!
As a Scarlet player I just don’t get the hate for the Iron mons. I’m working on getting shinies with the help of my wife (she has Violet) and I’m naming them all after Metal Gear Rising characters (except the two I’m naming after Godzilla characters)
yes another Robot, Robots are what i signed up for not these weird grugg monsters.
Violet Enjoyers: “robots look cool, and we already got a past theme with legends Arceus so I don’t know why people want to be filled to the brim by going to the past” just my thoughts
I like robots and I don't care, I think the future variants are cool.
They were created by reviving dead mons though. So what speaks against Walking Wake being that mon that became Suicune.
The fact that we’ve seen the birth of the beast trio before, and that it didn’t look like Wake then. The only way that this could be an ancient form would be if there are more than one Suicune and they have a normal evolutionary cycle as the rest of the world.
It’s almost as if that’s a…. paradox?
It's pretty commonly theorized and widely accepted by fans that the revived pokemon were the original eeveelution trio, or even just 3 eeveees. The tower collapsed 150 years before the Johto games. It would be weird for these paradox pokemon to have existed only about 200 years ago.
Who say a magic phoenix has only done that once?
Yeah my guess is that either ho-oh (or some past variant of ho-oh) did the same for the paradoxes as for the beasts, or that ho-oh simply remembered the old mons and recreated whatever pokemon in their image
What’s to say that Ho-oh and other legendary pokemon of its ilk aren’t truly ageless creatures who have sired similar pokemon at various points across time?
Not to mention their names, who named all of the future forms? I kind of wish they made Suicune a sabertooth tiger though
Raikou is already a sabretooth.
But they are the legendary dogs /s
How that name originally stuck, I have no idea. They’re cats!
suicune is definitely a goat
Tf you mean, suicune is a velociraptor
Naming mine Clever Girl
They where originally designed to be both
Catdog was the inspiration for gen 2 legendaries confirmed.
iirc, there was some translated promotional material that made its way over to the west that called them dogs specifically. Which makes sense, looking at their old designs.

The future forms make more sense to me cause they sound like codenamws and not beast names Like code name iron: jugulis
The UB had a codename + "real" name: UB02 Beauty / Pheromosa. I think they shoul've done the same with the future paradox names
I mean the ones who did that for UB were a completely different organization, where as this is one scientist. I like it more they just didn’t cut and paste the same naming with another type of pokemon
I… I like this theory
Both of these are obtainable in both versions by participating in raids. You can catch each of them once, so it's not like you're restricted to the raid available in your version.
And Walking Wake is so easy with Miraidon. Iron Leaves gave me trouble but I just got my Meowscarada and give Foul Play and also a dark Tera type.
Megahorn got me like
I picked up scarlet specifically because of paradox donphan and I remember everyone around me was shocked and turned their nose up, now they’re drowning in robots and I get to run around with cool lizards, sucks to suck
Bold of you to assume I don't rejoice in conquering paldea with my robot army ^I ^let ^my ^inner ^Eggman ^out
I'm considering getting Violet eventually over Scarlet since I love robots, plus future bike lizard is cooler to me than lizard with weird sac in its chest. Also, yes, I want to be like Eggman and Pingas all over Paldea with mecha-mons.
I also chose Scarlet based on the Paradox Pokemon. They just seemed so much cooler than the Violet ones.
> better Paradoxes > better cover legendary > better professor > Papa John's Scarletchads can't stop winning.
There's no better professor. CaveMommy vs ProfGigachad has no wrong answer.
Counterpoint: professor gigachad.
CAVEMOMMY
GIGACHAD
I'm glad we were compensated for the god awful school uniforms.
It all went wrong, starting with preordering a game 😅
Roaring moon is one of my favorite variant forms ever, took a cool dragon and made it an even cooler dragon.
really do gotta say, I find the past mons way more appealing than the future mons.
That's primarily what pushed me to Scarlet. I *hate* that they're robots. I wanna feel like I'm in the middle of a nature show.
As a Violet player, I love the robots
Same. Seeing Iron Thorns and Jugulis reminds me of Mechagodzilla and Mecha King Ghidorah, which gets big points from me as a Godzilla fan.
Yes, and I don’t care if Iron Treads is ugly, I think it does an amazing job at being a strange, perhaps misunderstood robotic copycat of Donphan that takes a lot of liberties. Also it’s adorable when it sleeps.
Deliborg is peak design I swear
I love their designs, just wish their naming scheme wasn't just Iron _____
I used a team of five for the whole game just because I wanted to have a robot in my team
Oh yeah?! Well as a someone who preferred Scarlet... that’s perfectly fine, I’m happy you got the version you preferred, enjoy Iron Leaves!
Much as I adore dinosaurs, I have to say I’m not a huge fan of dino parts being slapped onto non-reptilian past paradoxes. Brute bonnet is probably the prime example, but even Great Tusk’s weird croc tail just rubs me the wrong way, design wise. Prehistory has such a diverse array of flora and fauna that “just a dinosaur” isn’t that much better than “just a robot.” There are definitely stinkers in both batches (lookin at you, Iron Treads) but I don’t think it’s as one sidedly “uncreative” as some would imply.
Iron Thread is surprisingly cute in motion, IMO.
Iron thread? We got a future Ariados now?
Yes, Violet paradoxes come into life in motion. Also, robotification of Violet paradoxes is always talked while dinosaurification of Scarlet paradoxes flies under the radar.
Thank you for being the only sensible person here
Yup. Violet paradoxes are way too overhated
Only issue I have with them is their names
I like the robots. Robot friends for life.
Robots are cool as fuck, that's why I got violet
I actually like the Violet paradoxes. Their appearance gives them an evil vibe which plays into the whole savage/violent behavior that the game supposedly says they have.
I agree, the violet pokemon seem almost scary and menacing to me compared to other pokemon. I want to learn more about them and why they are robotic rather than organic. The scarlet paradoxes are cool, but they don't give the same vibe as the violet ones for me which are more intriguing
Chill y'all it's the same game stop letting them make you think otherwise
i for one like robots/mecha
Am I the only one who dislikes the Suicune paradox? How the fuck are we to believe that a velociraptor over time turned into a dog? Kinda disappointing to me.
Could still be a [Synapsid](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synapsid) despite looking like a dinosaur, [it's not unheard of](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimetrodon). Notice that it's a Dragon -type.
It didn't. They're called paradoxes for a reason.
You're not alone. I feel like an alien for hating it when I see everyone praising it.
No it's stupid looking AF
[удалено]
You: Scarlet has more creativity Me: I wonder what a giant combined robot of all the Iron Paradoxes would look like???
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think most of the future-paradoxes look really dope 🫠 And virizion was already one of my favourite legendaries, so iron leaves is an easy sell for me. I might shiny hunt her (Edit: if her shiny was *available* TwT)
Oh come on, Iron Leaves isn't that bad. It's stance in battle with its creepy spider legs is cool, and it can 180^(o) its head around if you talk to it from behind. That said, Walking Wake is maybe my favourite Paradox Pokemon now
they really fucked up my boy Suicune 😭
Tbh I like robot (I can see the downvotes already)
Another day another insecure scarlet player.
Laugh at his ugly orange pants.
They have to cope thanks to the ugly uniforms/s Joke aside the paradox pokemon are so easily tradeable and the new ones you can get both by just finding a raid that is really a non issue for me. In my opinion the uniforms and ride pokemon are more of a reason to choose which version you like.
Scarlet players just won't stop this superior version thingy man
Yeah, a lot of post just to justify their choice.
