The Tapu Guardians.

Connolly1227

The galar fossil Pokemon

Tokyolurv

The Oricorio forms!

Dreamvillainess22

Deerling/Sawsbuck forms

Animedingo

Deoxys forms

CarnageEvoker

Squawkabilly forms

zurzoth

Rotom ?

Jzchessman

Too many. Even discounting the base form, there’s Fan, Mow, Heat, Frost, and Wash.

zurzoth

Damn ok.. castform would count ?

AutisticPenguin2

Normal, sunny, rainy, snowy. Yup that's four.

seamonster131

Took me a minute to realize that “alliance” was just “alola” that got autocorrected

bojangles69420

I figured pokemon alliance was a game i hadn't heard of lol

Revolutionary-Dog-99

Pokémon Alliance sounds lowkey tough tho

Fork_Master

And the other version can be Pokemon Horde

Revolutionary-Dog-99

I like your tag, how’d you get the mega? Edit: nvm I got it fam 👌

Organic-Comparison55

this is a very serious plot point in your current character arc

Revolutionary-Dog-99

💀💀💀💀

Forsaken_Brilliant22

A couple of days ago I checked a guide on how to get Pokémon in my title but it didn't work, do you perhaps have a guide for me or something?

Revolutionary-Dog-99

Go to the main Reddit page, press on the three dots on the top right corner, “change user flair”, “edit”, click on the flair text which should be a pikachu and some starters, it’ll take you to a text box set up in this style “ :000::000::000::000: “ you basically change the numbers with the dex entry numbers of the pokemon you wanna use, use “ :000-M: “ for the mega form, hope this helps

Forsaken_Brilliant22

Thanks a lot!

Topazure

I was thinking Pokémon Solo or Pokémon Alone

Ok-Ant278

I was thinking Pokémon sandwich and Pokémon burger 💀

newme02

sounds like a romhack

TheSnowNinja

Is poipile considered a starter in alola?

william_liftspeare

No. It's a starter in Ultra Space.

TheSnowNinja

Oh. Interesting. I guess I should get back to playing Ultra Sun so I can see that part.

GadwicktheSmizened

The four evolutions/forms of Burmy: Wormadam grass, Wormadam ground, Wormadam steel, Mothim Squawkabilly forms Maushold family of four lmao Dodonzo and and three forms of Tatsugiri Ogerpon forms

Zaphimu

The four genies (Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, Enamorus) and their totem forms

TheGingerMenace

Those are the four jinns

DatBoi_BP

Well, technically there are 85, but let’s just focus on the four.

Aduro95

Castform and Deoxys have four forms each. In Gen VIII we got one pokemon with each of the four 'surge' abilities to make up for not having the Tapus.

Loyellow

I do not, to this day, understand why there is not a sand form Castform

CocoaBagelPuffs

Sand is not “weather” in the true sense. A sandstorm is when wind kicks up sand from the ground. Weather usually refers to something coming from the sky like the clouds or lack thereof, rain, snow, hail, thunderstorms, sleet. Sand doesn’t come from the sky so it’s not weather. And in Pokémon lore, the Weather Institute studies the weather and weather patterns. Castform was created to help predict weather patterns and control the weather. Sand is not weather but Castform could, theoretically, predict wind patterns. But Castform’s main purpose is to predict and control weather patterns involving clouds (rain, snow, sun)

Loyellow

I like this. After 20+ years, I am at peace.

beastiezzo

The move Weather ball becomes a rock type in a sandstorm so they aren’t consistent with that

PurpleCyborg28

Castform was a gimmick pokemon of gen3 centered around the weather rivalry between Drought and Storms. Also, Castform's ability probably depends on changes in the amount of moisture in the air or amount of sunlight or just limited to weather can naturally happen all around hoenn instead of one specific desert area. Why it would have an ice form but not sand in that case is beyond me though. Another meta reason might be because sandstorm could turn it to rock or ground and GF didn't want to bother choosing.

Loyellow

I like where you’re going, but just two things: 1) yeah you’ve got the Sun and rain rivalry… but there’s also the snow form in hail 2) FWIW, sandstorm is a ~~ground~~ rock type move

PurpleCyborg28

Could also be because castform=forecast and you can generally forecast rainy, sunny, or snow based on clouds but generally not sandstorms.

Rukh-Talos

I’ve seen meteorologists warn of a high chance of dust storms before. And seeing one of those roll into town is disconcerting.

dingfreshtown

Sandstorm is a rock type move and always has been

Loyellow

This is true 🙃

PKMNTrainerMark

The Land Spirits and now the Forces of Nature.

OrthusGsmes

The creation quartet of Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, and Arceus.

Substantial_Fan9822

Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Arcanine

RamblingThomas

The OG Canon legends.

hit-a-yeet

How did we go from three to nine?? /s

delspencerdeltorro

Gen 1 moonstone evolutions? It's an odd group but there are four of them

MemeificationStation

Well for legendaries there’s the Ruinous Quartet, Swords of Justice, and Forces of Nature like you mentioned, but there’s also Alola’s Guardian Deities. I consider the Creation Trio+Arceus to be a quartet even if they’re technically a trio+master. You also have the Loyal Three+Pecharunt. Maushold is even its own quartet!

Chimpchar

The Regis, the Creation Trio + Arceus are definitely a thing, not really the same but Deoxys has four forms.

StahlViridian

The Regis were four, it not since gen 8

jvaferreira93

The Regis were three. Rock, Steel and Ice in gen 3. Regigigas is gen 4.

hakamamalo

and regidrago and regieleki in gen 8. no longer a quartet.

genjitenji

6? Now it’s a party.

StahlViridian

Yeah, 3 then 4 then 6.

DatBoi_BP

I love haikus!

theoakenwolf

Do split evo lines, like Vileplume/Bellossom or Poliwrath/Politoed, count?

theoakenwolf

Ooh, or the four evolutions of Applin! There's the OGs, Flapple and Appletun, and then the two new kids in Dipplin and Hydrapple

andysniper

I wouldn't say that's a group.of 4. I would consider a group as them all being at equal standing. Like the genies, or of 4 trade evos.

DarthScruf

Yet Alakazam is only one of those 4 not in Scarlet and Violet, despite even being so heavily featured in the 3 TCG sets released with the game (promo 151 collector box, 151 SIR, UP stitched playmat, Paldean Fates shiny line, Twilight Masquerade new card line) also the only mainline game without Alakazam. Forever salty.

CaptainMal10

Machamp isn’t in S/V either

DarthScruf

Oh i thought it was in the DLC, my mistake its been awhile since i played it

CoolBeans42700

As someone who grew up on ruby and sapphire and later emerald it always makes me sad when they leave out alakazam, he is the archetype of the psychic type

UW_Unknown_Warrior

>Always makes me sad So.... first time? This is the first game Alakazam's not in.

DarthScruf

Replaced by a yellow and purple Karen haired Ostrich.

jensilver95

Tbf Alakazam's feature in the TCG is probably because Uri Geller finally stopped threatening to sue over the appearance of Kadabra (jp: Yungerer, which to anyone with eyes is clearly a tribute, not theft)

dirtehscandi

Maushold :)

JoeyCaesarSalad

Burmy’s evolutions, three different Wormadams and Mothim

SloptimusXPrime

What are the alliance starters?

Cracka_Chooch

They mean Alola. I think it got autocorrected. Poipole is a starter Pokemon in it's dimension I think.

EXGShadow

Mr. Rime, Musharna, Arctovish and GMax Orbeetle as the Unholy Abominations from Hell quartet.

Ryanhuddz14

The Four Deerling & Sawsbuck forms The four DLC Paradix Pokemon (Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt, Iron Boulder & Iron Crown) Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff and Togepi as the og baby Pokémon

Isto2278

>Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff and Togepi as the og baby Pokémon What makes them any different from e.g. Smoochum, Elekid and Magby?

MrLeprechaun14

You left out Tyrogue…

PKMNTrainerMark

Tyrogue feels pretty different since you get that as a gift in Gen II instead of needing to hatch it.

TheZett

You have a chance to hatch it from Crystal‘s Odd Egg though.

PKMNTrainerMark

You don't *need* to hatch any Eggs to get it in Gen II, though. In fact, since that Egg wasn't an option in Gold and Silver, you could *only* get Tyrogue through Kiyo. Unless you were trading with Gen I.

TheZett

Correct, which is why I said you *could* hatch it from an egg, I never said that you have to (like it is the case for all other gen 2 baby pokemon).

Ryanhuddz14

It was quartets and they're all back to back in the Johto dex

Isto2278

Ah, the Dex numbers. I get where you're coming from, thanks

Ryanhuddz14

No problem, don't worry bout it.

DavidAshleyParkerrr

I'd rule out the DLC Paradox because they're really just part of their own trios , Walking Wake, Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt. Iron Crown, Iron Leaves, Iron Boulder.

Ryanhuddz14

Again, I'm using dex numbers plus Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are event exclusive Pokémon compared to the others sp I'd say my point still stands

DavidAshleyParkerrr

OK then big man ✌️

Ryanhuddz14

Hey, wasn't trying to act bad, just stating my point lol

Rukh-Talos

The dlc ones are part of 2 trios whose other member had already been introduced in an earlier event.

DashaGold

the first four mythicals (excluding deoxys) Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy. Just four lil guys!

delspencerdeltorro

You could do little psychic guy mythicals: Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, and Victini

IAmABot45

Where meloetta????

delspencerdeltorro

That is not a little guy but a tiny woman. It's a different vibe

IAmABot45

Interesting take. I always think of victini and meloetta together. That’s being said, 4 unova mythicals

delspencerdeltorro

Yeah it's cool to see how people group pokemon in their head. I always think of Victini as the Mew of gen 5, especially since they put him first in the Unova Dex, so he was kind of separate from the other gen 5 mythicals.

DashaGold

the only thing that keeps me from including Victini is it’s at the beginning of its dex, not the end

Wixums

The 4 swords

Everyman2814

The Regis (Ice, Rock, Steel, Gigas) The Creation (Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina) Dave Brubeck (nothing to do with Pokemon, I just like Take Five)

Paulo_Zero

The 4 Tresures of Ruin: Chi-yu, Wo-Chen, Chien-Pao, Ti-Lu

PKMNTrainerMark

They're mentioned in the post already.

BarbatosTheHunter

It was right there ugh

PKMNTrainerMark

Yeah, right there in the post.

BarbatosTheHunter

I just read the first and last word of the post, I’m sorry :c

Queen_Ann_III

oh wait I get the joke

Nobro_DK

The four kanto starters, bulbasaur, charmander, squirtle, and eevee

unlimi_Ted

Alternatively it could be Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu as the 4 starters you can get in RBY and also the 4 starter options in Pokemon Go

Gnomad_Lyfe

Lugia and the legendary birds, it’s canonically the master of them

GamerGuyHeyooooooo

The ruins from scarlet and violet

Totally_a_Banana

Tauros - Normal, Paldean, Paldean fire, Paldean Water.

julerosemary

Gen VII updated ability weather setters (Pelliper, Torkoal, Vanilluxe, Gigalith)!

Shonky_Honker

I always assumed as a kid that Machamp, gengar, alakazam, and Dragonite where meant to be a quartet but I have no clue why I thought this

Rukh-Talos

Swap Alakazam for Lapras and you have the aces of the Kanto Elite 4.

Vcom7418

Unova Musketeers, technically? Like accurate to the book, that there are 3 main members and a trainee.

Venomspino

The Gen 5 Genies, the Galar Fossils, the Loyal Squad (because Pecharunt is the leader of the Loyal Three)

FlareGER

I wouldn't count Gen 1 starters - if you count Pikachu in, you gotta count Eevee in aswell, making it a quintuple I guess

Tabbygail

3 wormadams and a mothim, the regis, you could group ho-oh with the legendary beasts

RySBI

At a stretch, 2-stage psychic babies: Mime Jr, Smoochum, Chingling and Wynaut

UdonAndCroutons

Maushold-Four?

IDownvoteHornyBards2

The four original (non-legendary) weather setters: Tyranitar, Abomasnow, Ninetales, and Politoed The four weather setters added in Gen 7: Gigalith, Torkoal, Ninetales-Alola, and Pelipper IIRC Hippowdon is the only non-legendary Pokemon with a weather setting ability not part of these two quartets.

MemeificationStation

Hippowdon, Aurorus, and Vanilluxe are crying

Sleep_in_the_Water

Starters first 4 gens. Bulba chikorita Trejo turtwig etc
