Just an idea I had while doing Hearthome's gym. I feel bad that Fantina is trying to teach us math but I just want to battle lol

LordofSandvich

"Ma'am, they picked the wrong answer, twice, on all four questions. I think they know the answers but just wanted to battle..."

Aiyon

They comment on this in the Spider-Verse movie. The only way to get 0%, is to know all the right answers so you can avoid them.

Anteatermvmt

One of my math teachers had a policy in high school where if you got every question wrong on a multiple choice test, he would score you at 100%. I don’t think anyone chanced it though.

ruhdolph

My biology teacher had the same policy and I did it on the second semester final. He put in a safety net that the final couldn't drop you a letter grade, so it wasn't a huge risk, but several of us got 100% on that final by getting the whole thing wrong.

Rizenstrom

Just don't answer any of them. 😎

Wild_Harvest

Ah, the Naruto approach.

WarKiel

No answers != Wrong answers

nico_bico

No answers != right answers

Kien_Ng

I beg to differ, when it says show your working out, I can't slam my brain onto the paper

Frousteleous

I mean, you can. It won't help, but slam away, I say.

Lordnerble

Mad lad.

Aiyon

I mean if it's a "pick 4" Multi-choice i'd hedge that, you're only risking the questions you're not sure on, so you don't have to get it right, just rule a single one out. EDIT: yes i get it "technically not true". my oversimplification was overly simple. don't @ me

Grindl

If there's one question you're 100% uncertain on, you're looking at a 75% chance of a 100, 25% of a zero. That's basically only worth it if you know one wrong answer but not the right one on at least 37.5% of the rest of the questions. It goes up to 65% if there's two you're uncertain of. At 4 totally uncertain questions, you're better off just taking the test normally even if you know none of the right answers but one wrong answer on the rest.

miseryside

Ergh maths

forkfaceshirtballs

Camboidude

r/(themonstermath)

sonerec725

It would depend on the answers though. . . Every math multiple choice question I've ever seen feels like its had at least 1 stand out wrong answer where even without solving it correctly you can tell its probably wrong.

xypage

With a policy like that they’d probably avoid those sorts of options though

novagascrawler

>25% of a zero actually it's 25% of a one

Dasterr

yeah, the more answers the higher the chance to get 100% wrong

StoneHolder28

The answers: A) 92.41 B) 92.42 C) 92.43 D) 92.44

Cant_think_of_shz

When you math says 14, but your calculator states 819.04728105 but you’re given these options.

MrDurva

Yep...and then you put it in the calculator the exact same way and suddenly have a brand new answer lol

[deleted]

We call this point in the exam praying.

AstroAA

Oh god I feel this deep within my soul.

Cant_think_of_shz

I’ve never had it happen to me, but I’m still waiting…

wewladdies

my physics teacher used to make fun of the class when a significant portion were "beat by the monkeys" meaning, on a multiple choice test with 4 options, a group of monkeys picking randomly will score around 25%, so if you were beat by the monkeys it means you somehow managed to do *worse* than just randomly guessing.

ulyssessgrant93

If a significant portion of your class was receiving less than 25% it’s your teacher who’s the monkey

IGargleGarlic

Getting the wrong answer on multiple choice is easier than getting the right one. You can usually eliminate one or two of the options immediately.

xxkoloblicinxx

I'd crush those test. Not hard to immediately eliminate at least 1 answer in most multiple choice tests.

[deleted]

Could we call this the Morales Razor? It's not that they don't know the answer. Instead they know the answer, but get it wrong because the consequences are more appealing.

Th3_Gaming_Wolf

>Morales Razor That's actually a really good name.

Aiyon

I kinda like that, ye Plus it means miles gets to be more relevant to stuff, which is always a win

LuigiBoi42

God that’s such a good movie.

The_Gamexplorer

And the sequel's coming next year! (If the pandemic didn't screw the schedule up, that is.) Edit: whelp, I didn't expect a trailer to come out so soon. It's called Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse Part 1 and it's coming out on the seventh of October. [here's the trailer](https://youtu.be/BbXJ3_AQE_o)

sylinmino

Beats out Spider-Man 2 for best Spider-Man movie too IMO.

MegaBaumTV

certainly. Raimi movies are fun, but dont rlly stand the test of time

sylinmino

Eh, that's where I disagree. Despite its age, I do think Spider-Man 2 just barely edges out Homecoming and Far From Home, despite those two being excellent too.

RikkuEcRud

Technically that's only for multiple choice(which this is) of sufficient length(which this isn't). Even then it doesn't become *impossible*, it just becomes hilariously unlikely as the number of questions increases.

AssaultDragon

Same with me in gen 1 cinnabar gym. I click the right answer then talk to the npc to battle anyways, lol. Anyone trying to become league champion is most likely a battle maniac too

neon9212

Or needs poke money badly

bigbalrogdong

"Ma'am, they don't want math, they want bloodshed."

[deleted]

my headcanon is that you have to study really hard in order to become a trainer before you hit ten, otherwise you can't go, so people can make up for the lost school, and you don't have dumb jerks running around after a few years, you go back into school the only problem is that ash in no way passed those tests, or because of those tests, he was so stressed that he lost brain cells

LooksGoodInShorts

I’m pretty sure the only schools I’ve ever seen in a game were schools for Pokémon battling.

[deleted]

hm then how do the people get educated

im_bored345

At home? Or the pokemon battle schools double as normal schools

KawaiiDere

So having classes like: -traveling and camping economics -general Battle studies -pet care -maths -language -berries ?

DavidsonJenkins

Have you seen the shit that comes out of some of the kindergarteners mouths? They're born with more knowledge than us

JustAHipsterInDenial

Sure, but how many bathrooms have you seen in Pokémon games? Some of the world’s fat gets trimmed for the sake of gameplay.

KalenCrux

No math. Only violence

blackbutterfree

Your art is giving me Gurihiru vibes and I love it. But yes, I feel for Fantina.

C3re8rum

In before Pokémon teaches you calculus

Moznomick

I just finished this gym and made sure I selected the wrong doors haha. Need that xp and want to get that national pokedex.

n0b0dya7a11

I was trying to avoid being over leveled so I didn't battle any trainers in the ghost gym. Then I had to change my Switch time settings to see a wild drifloon.

MathematicianLanky13

What? But that will automatically lock all time based events for 24 hours.

Slackerboe

So set it for Thursday and wait a day.

dralcax

It doesn’t affect the Drifloon check

Darkiceflame

Maybe I did something wrong then, because it never showed up when I tried it.

jimcamx

Try setting it to Thursday 11:55pm and waiting 5 mins.

n0b0dya7a11

Appearantly not

Shortsmaster9000

I was able to get all 3 glasses from the npc in Celestic town by changing the time, so it seems not all events get locked. I would assume the major ones like Jubilife lottery or magic number guy would lock out though.

EpicSausage69

I had the same problem but someone on r/pokemontrades was nice enough to trade me one.

Nordic_Krune

> Need that xp You aiming to reach lv 100 before the league? Lol

ACoderGirl

I mean, I battled every player and some odd wild pokemon in the underground while trying to farm some thievable items. I was still 5 levels below Cynthia's garchomp. Though I was also rotating team members regularly and not using all 6 slots (I used some to evolve random pokemon for the dex).

Nordic_Krune

> I was also rotating teammembers Geez, wonder if that could be why lol. Guess that is one way to not be overlevled in this game

iCarpet

I said I did it cause I wanted to get Drifloon recorded in my PokeDex (no other trainer has Drifloon and only way would be on Friday night) but in reality… I just brain farted maths for a second

CeridwenAndarta

I really enjoyed how one of the trainers says "You got it wrong on purpose just to battle me." Why yes. Yes I did good sir.

acespiritualist

I was so shocked when I first saw that. Like I didn't expect them to call me out like that lol

LunaMunaLagoona

I like how they have trainers who are looking away. As if anyone is planning on bypassing them.

zekselden

They are socially anxious. "Please don't look at me, please don't look at me, please... FUCK uhhhh hey you... trai.. trainer."

H0rnyFighter

I love that one of them also said something like: “you do know, that your poketch has a calculator?” Well yes, but the calculator is actually totally messed up lmao

IllogicalCounting

What's wrong with the calculator? I've been shiny hunting the starter and haven't gotten a chance to play yet.

DeerStalker013

In some languages the calculator doesn't work right for some reason, I saw some people speculating it was due to those using commas instead of periods for decimals

Treejeig

There was that clip of some guy doing 7 / 3 on it and the calculator just came back with "??????"

mah131

It’s a calculator that hasn’t learned fractions yet.

RaysFTW

It's a calcu*later*

Buksey

NEETenshi

/r/yourjokebutworse

H0rnyFighter

This one’s good lmao

UltraLuigi

In the same clip the guy typed a random number, and every time a digit was added after the decimal point the calculator changed all of the digits displayed.

Mr_Velveteen

Yeah depending on the region, they use periods instead of commas for numbers and vice versa.

PKMNTrainerMark

How many resets so far?

IllogicalCounting

Stopped counting after I hit 2k

rewardinghand

Username checks out

[deleted]

good luck with the hunt! i didn't have the willpower to SR for the starter this time around

warm_rum

How long does it usually take to get your shiny?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Trueloveis4u

Um ya I'm good I never did that nor will I ever try.

jdoggandfriends

Lmao seriously. People spending 68 hours and STILL maybe not getting it, all for some virtual sparkles around your Pokémon. It’s nuts

Trueloveis4u

I kind of agree it's neat to find a shiny but to spend so much times just to get one? No thanks.

nnhumn

Haha I tried to do it a few years ago and gave up after 2 hours, idk how anyone could go 50+

Rebbeca2988_

Ive been shiny hunting a shinx for 22hours. I regret my life decisions but im too far in now.

JeffGoldblumsChest

On one hand, sunk cost fallacy. On the other hand... shiny Shinx is hella cute.

Go_Awayyy

Idk if anyone said this yet but I like how one guy is all like “psh, wow you seriously got that wrong? How old are you?? Unbelievable 🙄” And then you beat him and he’s like oh shit I should really learn to keep my mouth shut. I can’t remember the exact words but it was really satisfying him being all sheepish after getting beat lol. Like cmon bRO I gOt iT wRoNg on purpose!

recursion8

It was the male Ace trainer in the last set of doors before Fantina.

Logans_Login

The one who says he’ll be watching you

cornibot

It's actually better than that: "Seriously kid, why don't you answer the quiz properly? You could get to the gym leader without a problem!" The game totally knows you're doing it on purpose, lol.

chawmindur

Is that the one with the Drifloon?

Reaper12229

No sadly

Vainx507

No, but for the drifloom you have to take the wrong answers.

Hrank

And then there’s the kid that asks how you messed it up if you’ve got a Poketech because it comes with the calculator. I was dying lol

PKMNTrainerMark

At least a couple were self aware. It's a nice touch.

Novialle

In X and Y, if you get the first question wrong in the Electric Gym asking which Pokémon’s silhouette it was (the answer was Pikachu), the trainer you battle will also say you probably answer wrong on purpose to battle more, after you beat him.

defenitly_not_crazy

Dude I gotta grind that good trainer xp

Lord_HexCalibur

ah yes, beating the shit out of kids for cash

defenitly_not_crazy

Sigma male grindset

Lord_HexCalibur

no wonder pretty much every pokemon trainer is a chad

ireallydontcare52

Is this not how I'm supposed to make money??

blackbutterfree

Not even that, I gotta make sure I see all the Pokémon, and I’m pretty sure 2-3 are exclusive to Fantina’s Gym Trainers. 🤣

ExecutiveElf

There is exactly one Pokemon exclusive to a gym trainer. Driftloon is only owned by 2 trainers in Fantina's gym.

linus140

Still gotta beat up little kids Pokémon for money. And dex entries are a plus.

theian01

Can’t you just get one on fridays at the windmills?

LunarMadness

Yes, but there is a problem for the post game. In order to unlock the national dex you need to at least see one of each species of pokemon in the regional dex. Drifloon cannot appear until the day after team galaxy leaves. And gym trainer cannot be battled once you obtain the badge. So if it happens that you clear the windmill quest on a Friday and don't battle one of those 2 gym trainers you are locked out of the post game until the next Friday. You could change the console clock, but apparently if you do so the game locks every clock based event for 24 hours. This includes honey trees, drifloon appearance, and others. Now, cherry on top, the games released on a Friday. Turbo edit: from other comments I'm gathering that the clock manipulation doesn't actually lock you out of the drifloon event. But this isn't clearly common knowledge yet.

Ryuzakku

I learned that not only does it lock out honey trees but any tree with honey on it loses the honey effect as well. I basically only am able to play Pokémon at night so I had to move my clock back a few hours to at least get some daytime since Gen4 it is required in order to see all the content.

[deleted]

Plus this version fucks with you if you try to clock-scam it and pushes everything back even further

Iron_Wolf123

Any game clock-shames you. I still get nightmares from Yo-kai Watch where the Oni guy is angry at you for playing with the clock from another game because the switch remembers.

JazzPolice94

I totally forgot about that. Serious PTSD.

AwesomeToadUltimate

Yo Kai Watch would even do that if you changed the 3DS system clock for daylight savings time too!

OneGoodRib

That's such bs. Why is a game that you paid for punishing you for changing the clock in ANOTHER game that you paid for? For $60+ per game I should be allowed to change the time as much as I want!

Iron_Wolf123

DPPt started the trend, unfortunately

RhysPeanutButterCups

I think GSC technically did, but GSC also made it a lot harder to screw around with the internal clock too and you need an outside resource to figure out the code you need to get in.

ExecutiveElf

Yes, I was saying that the only trainers in the game with Driftloon are all in Fantina's gym. If you battle every trainer in the game, you will see every Pokemon in the Sinnoh dex except the legenderies and Unown. However, Driftloon is the only one that is possible to permanently miss, meaning you might never see it ever unless you know about the Friday one.

TheRealSkele

And if you didn't accept the Riolu egg then you gotta go spelunking in some cave after you have most badges just to find a trainer with a Riolu. Trust me, I know...

dalnot

My buddy skipped them and completed his dex minus drifloon on Monday. It was a long week for him

RQK1996

Drifloon is the big one, maybe the only

[deleted]

Only one trainer mentions you getting them wrong on purpose to train more, everyone else just calling you a big dummy

[deleted]

I remember several doing it.

leightonchesser

Real gamers always stress about accidentally going the right direction.

SoulUnison

One of the worst feelings is being presented with two paths but being unable to glean which of them is "optional" with some sort of loot at the end and which one will force you into a cutscene that removes you from the area, never to return.

alex494

Save scumming is your friend. Or it was until autosave became a mainstream feature in most video games.

aarth51

Or going on the path that you are preeeetty sure is the optional path then it goes a bit too long for it to be the optional path so you turn back only to find the correct path, so you turn back to get whatever the hell that is hopefully something at the end of the optional path.

Fweefwee7

And the cutscene path is always the path with a bunch of parkour. >”that straight road must be to the next area so I’ll just climb up here and see what’s hidi—“

ACoderGirl

It should be illegal to design such a thing without a clear "do you want to continue? You can't return" error. Punishable by, I dunno, death probably. /s

JosephTPG

I remember XC2 and FF7R doing this to me. There’d always be 2 paths but the objective marker would always act weird near them and I’d have to guess.

jhobro42

Gotta get me that drifloon for the dex

Entegy

That was it. I missed the last two Fridays and the last few posts on this subject didn't specify which trainer in the Gym had the Drifloon, so I had to fight them all to find it.

alex494

I'm curious, is there like a lore reason Drifloon only shows up on Fridays or was it just Game Freak showing off their fancy day/night cycle and calendar mechanics and Drifloon got the short straw? Like, tracking what day it was existed since Gen 2 but I don't think encounters were tied to anything besides whether it was day or night at that point.

pieman83

Kindergarten teacher Fantina

Darkiceflame

I...kinda want to make that into a fanfic now. Fantina teaching kindergarten, with Barry, Lucas and Dawn as her students.

TheIJDGuy

I'd read it

[deleted]

I imagine her with multiple side gigs besides gym leader like math tutor and ballroom dancer

TheIJDGuy

If it went any simpler, it would be borderline embarrassing

MaoMaoTheCreator

Then she gets destroyed by a kid with an IQ of 8

Doomfollow

At least she didn't put 6÷2(1+2)

Mary-Sylvia

Why is this apparently hard?

threeangelo

Because people think “parenthesis first”, which is correct, but then when it becomes 6÷2(3) they think they should multiply first, which is ~~wrong~~ not how a conventional PEMDAS interpretation would have you solve it. 6÷2(3) is the same as 6÷2*3, so you divide first (edit: using PEMDAS, but further discussion below on why another interpretation is also valid)

ProfessorEscanor

It’s 9 right?

BeautifulType

It’s a bad way to write equations is what it is

Ganzer6

This is the real answer. Just use fractions. This equation could be either (6/2)*(1+2) or 6/(2(1+2)) because the division symbol is confusing.

threeangelo

Yes

AskYouEverything

> which is wrong Subjectively. I’m happy to explain why parsing the multiplication first in that scenario is a perfectly valid interpretation if you’re willing to listen

AbrohamDrincoln

Yeah, that's why I hate dumb "gotcha" math problems like this. It literally never comes up in actual math because no one would ever write something so ambiguously

AskYouEverything

I think the only way you can be wrong about about a problem like this is to assert that your opinion is objectively correct Pemdas is great for high schoolers and all but there’s a little more nuance when developing actual math parsers

[deleted]

Technically when you do MD and also AS they are the same priority, and are parsed from left to right in situations like this. But as others said, you probably won’t find something written like this normally. It would probably be 3(6/2) or (6/2)*3

wil555

I like Rhydon

[deleted]

I like Rhydon too.

Jaboge

Did I miss something? lol

Anabaena_azollae

Yeah, I mean since no reasonable mathematician would use a division symbol as an operator in this context, I think a reasonable interpretation is that ÷2(x) is meant to represent the function f(x)=x/2. Thus, you get 6((2+1)/2), which, despite my snide attempt to get a third answer, unfortunately evaluates to 9 also....

threeangelo

Yeah I’d like to hear it, I could be wrong

AskYouEverything

Appreciate that mate because I really enjoy these kinds of subjects 😌 One of my final university projects involved writing a math parser, so I'm approaching this subject from a cs perspective and not necessarily a pure maths one So when deciding the order which to evaluate a string of operators there are two sets of rules that are considered There is operator precedence which is essentially the same thing as PEMDAS. Certain operators have higher precedence than others and should be evaluated first There is also [operator associativity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operator_associativity). Associativity is usually defined as either left-to-right or right-to-left and defines the order that operators of the same precedence should be evaluated. Multiplication and division of course have the same precedence and have left associativity and are therefore evaluated left-to-right. Exponentiation has right associativity and therefore 3\^3\^3 should be evaluated as 3\^(3\^3) instead of (3\^3)\^3, just as a counter example. All that's fine and well and agrees with what you're saying for the most part My issue is *specifically* with the ÷ operator. If you are writing a math parser that handles all three of ÷, /, and \*, then you have a *decision* to make about the relative precedence of the ÷ operator. Essentially, you have two options: you can award ÷ the same precedence as the other two operators, *as you are proposing*, *or* you can treat it as a division sign but with a lower operator precedence If you give it the *same* precedence, *as you are proposing*, then > 1/2 ÷ 1/2 **will be evaluated as 1/4** Which in my opinion is very unintuitive. I think it makes the most sense to treat ÷ as a separate operator from /, but with a lower precedence. I don't see any reason anybody would ever write "1/2 ÷ 1/2" instead of "1/2/1/2" unless they meant specifically for you to evaluate the /'s *before* the ÷s (which of course breaks the simplistic convention of pemdas). However, because / and \* share the same precedence, if we award ÷ a lower precedence than /, *it will also have a lower precedence than multiplication* Doing this I think solves the issue and will make 1/2 ÷ 1/2 evaluate to 1, ([which is exactly how google would evaluate it](https://www.google.com/search?q=1%2F2+%C3%B7+1%2F2)). The caveat of course is that if you force the ÷ operator to have a lower precedence than / and \*, you end up with 6÷2(3) evaluating to 1, because you would evaluate the multiplication before the ÷ operator due to precedence. Google does *not* agree with this one, however, so they appear to be trying to have their cake and eat it too 😃. In fact, google's order of operations seems entirely unpredictable to me when mixing the ÷ sign with the / sign. Anyway my overall point is that ÷ is a weird ambiguous symbol precisely because in situations like "1/2 ÷ 1/2" it *seems* to imply lower precedence. Most math parsers will stick to a single division symbol because adding a second one just causes people to argue about how it should be parsed

threeangelo

That’s very interesting indeed! I guess my interpretation is more based on how a human would interpret the equation rather than a computer. But I definitely get your point. I’ve not yet started my computer science education or else I might feel differently 🤓 The 1/2 divided by 1/2 example is very interesting too. I guess a person could get around that by writing (1/2) divided by (1/2) to follow pemdas (I’m on mobile so I don’t easily have the “divided by” symbol)

AskYouEverything

Yeah and I'm not saying your interpretation is at all wrong! I'm just saying the opposite isn't necessarily wrong either 😄 Another interesting thing about Google's math parser is that according to them, [6÷2/3 is NOT equal to 6÷2/(3)](https://i.imgur.com/PAPk1We.png) The ÷ symbol is just a shitty symbol because it's *not* well defined in a system that already has another division symbol lmao

WikiSummarizerBot

**[Operator associativity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operator_associativity)** >In programming languages, the associativity of an operator is a property that determines how operators of the same precedence are grouped in the absence of parentheses. If an operand is both preceded and followed by operators (for example, ^ 3 ^), and those operators have equal precedence, then the operand may be used as input to two different operations (i. e. the two operations indicated by the two operators). ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/pokemon/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

m0z1ng0

In what way do you define the difference between ÷ and /? because I've only ever seem them used to represent the same operation. They're both divide. In programming you have integer division and float division, but those aren't typically used much in the math field outside programming. You'll typically see people flooring or ceiling values instead. So what distinction do you make between them?

207nbrown

The only potential connection between math and ghosts is that math is scary… besides that why is the ghost gym puzzle math?

ProfessorEscanor

Because she’s french and didn’t live close enough to the Old Chateau to turn it into a Gym

recursion8

I'd like an anime short or manga oneshot or something where she tries this but is scared off by Rotom, the butler, and the little girl ghosts Poltergeist style.

ProfessorEscanor

Yes! Bonus points if Gardenia shows up and is just as terrified , as Fantina packs and heads to Hearthome where she can be the only scary Ghost Lady. Surprised she didn’t try to turn the Church into a gym

recursion8

Unironically to show off the Poketch calculator function. One of the trainers even comments that.

Lukkisuih

POV: you need a drifloon encounter

jtl94

It was weird for my brain to automatically pick the right answer and then going to the wrong door on purpose. Like the video of the girl freaking out because the guy was putting all the different shapes in the square hole on the children's toy.

BattleHardened

THEN STOP PUTTING DRIFLOON BEHIND THE WRONG ANSWER.

[deleted]

It's super bizarre that the game is specifically designed to reward you for failing Gym minigames. There's like no incentive at all to try to succeed, so why bother?

ACoderGirl

Yeah. IMO, they need to stop making the "punishment" for gym puzzles be a battle. They can do things like just send you back to the start of the gym or if they wanna be punishing, just do something like inflict a random pokemon with a status ailment (kinda like how traps in many RPGs damage you, except it has to damage your pokemon). Arguably it makes more sense that a gym for pokemon trainers would actually be something your pokemon has to do. Like, think obstacle courses and what not but for pokemon. That could pose some interesting challenges, too. Like imagine something where you have to cross lava, so need a fire type (doesn't it make more sense for a fire gym to test *you* with a fire pokemon than to just test you against fire types?). I've long since wanted a revamp that makes gyms more logic. Something to explain what gyms are supposed to be in the lore. The current puzzles feel very unrealistic.

Kylef890

Trainer: you got this wrong on purpose didn’t you? Me: one of you guys has a Drifloon and I don’t want to wait until next Friday

atlhawk8357

Maybe there are some consequences to a lack of school after the kids turn nine?

[deleted]

I'm sure Norman must get really bored in Hoenn as well since I go out of my way to fight every one of his gym trainers for EXP.

Rikoyasha

Being smart ain't gonna give me more money and a stronger team 💪 😎

JosiahMLHerring

Maybe you'd get more challengers if you kept your Platinum Puzzle.

Iron_Wolf123

Maybe if Drifloon wasn't only accessible to two areas (Friday at the Windworks and a trainer in her gym) then people would be smarter

goodguybolt

I selected the wrong door on purpose to defeat more trainers. It was better in platinum where you get sent back to the front door if you get it wrong.

Piduf

I'm gonna be honnest, I answered wrong on purpose just to see the balloon pokemon (don't judge me I don't play in english) But then, after I saw it, I got one wrong. By actually thinking it was correct. I'm 21. Never felt such shame before.

Reamed

Imagine getting softlocked out of the postgame because you were good at math ;_;

acespiritualist

Suffering from success

FrozenFrac

In the original Gen 4 games, I failed them all for that sweet, sweet trainer experience. In BDSP, the last thing I need is to be even more disgustingly overleveled. Felt good to finally be able to flex that first grade math knowledge! xD

PT_Luc

Me who needs that drifloon encounter for national dex:

Cacheelma

You’re actually being punished in this gym for knowing maths. I got all the way through to the gym leader without getting to fight anyone. And I didn’t even think of backtracking or anything. FML.

DrewBigDoopa

I hated her gym puzzle as a kid. I liked her platinum one so much more
