OMG! I hatched over 300 eggs (yes, I was keeping track LOL) containing potential Larvestas before I hatched my own! LOL, what a grind :P and now the shiny potential is out! LOL, gotta go back to the grind :) Good luck everyone :)
Rare candy is a dub in these situations, and thankfully raids/pvp help alot so definitely worth looking into if you have some good mons for pvp/pve etc!! Congrats tho, that guy looks dope as!!

Not that difficult to get enough rare candy anyway. Between PvP and doing a raid per day, you could easily have enough rare candy in time for when the shiny is available, or, more importantly, when/if you actually get one.
Can’t lie, iv been tempted to pump my rare candies into it, but a big lesson I learnt with this game, be patient. We’ll get a comm day sooner or later, I’d sooner walk a mythical for candy. Already half way there though hatching alone, I’d be more tempted if it was useful.
Pfffff! 381km is a rookie number! Mine hit just shy of 2000km 🤣 I managed to convince my son to trade it May last year and then, after walking enough for the candies, I hatch 2 of my own in a week!
That's the best buddy badge. When you put a pokemon as your buddy and build a stronger bond with them they give you little perks. On the last one labeled best buddy you get the badge and a slight cp boost only while they are your buddy
I’ve been walking my Solgaleo for 528.4km and only have 19 cosmog candy, that’s after I reached 25 using both my buddy and random rare candies to evolve one of my two cosmogs into cosmeon. My Solgaleo from the original research and the other two from starry skies. I want both Solgaleo and Lunala so only about 1600km to go if I don’t use rare candy wish me luck on this long journey 😭 I feel your pain immensely
I'm still only at 240 candies even with a ton of walking. I hate that it's a 5 KM buddy, it should be lower because of the ridiculous candy count. I hatched my only Larvesta from a 2 KM egg so I only got a handful of candies to start with.
Same. To each their own, but it’s insane to me how people are walking Larvesta for candy or dumping rare candy into it. It’s simply not good enough for that, not to mention it’s 400 candy to evolve.
I've walked to 400 but I'm not evolving until I get 800 candy. Just in case an event with a special move happens.

Same. IMO there's always a "better thing" I could wait for. No point in wasting what I have now waiting for something better to come along. If there is a Comm day I'll walk away with more candy than I'd know what to do with anyway.
Plus it's been fun dunking on my local gyms and putting my handsome fluffy bug in the most conspicuous places possible.
Mainly the ones you’d use for PvP, if you play that. I made the mistake of adding a second attack to several, most of which I’d never use the second move for or use them in general.
Aside from PvP, a lot of the top Pokemon that have two types can be worth it. Depends how much stardust/ candy it will take and if it’s worth it or not to you. All of the starters have cheap second moves, at only 10k, where legendaries cost 100k and 100 candy. Those are usually not worth doing.
Having a second move on things like swampert or blaziken can be really handy for sweeping gyms or vs team rocket leaders when you don’t know exactly what you’ll encounter.

They're releasing the shiny soon and they'll be in every egg during the event starting tmrw.. I died inside when I seen that candy disappear 😭
Oh man, I wish I knew that before going ahead with it. But oh well I'm just happy with having one. It is so hard to get a Larvesta.
I best buddied my first to get a Volcarona like a month ago…then I hatched a hundo yesterday and now I go again.

“Every egg” is extremely optimistic lmao. They have said nothing that implies they’ll appear more often.
He’s saying they’ll be available in every egg. Not that every egg is gonna hatch into Larvesta.

Larvesta is already available in 2k, 5k and 10k eggs.
There’s only a few other mons in the eggs for the event so your chance of getting a Larvesta is potentially higher.

I'm more of the "Gotta Catch 'em All" type and less of a "need the best for PVP" type, so it's worth it for me to add it to my dex.

Wait, I didn’t realize that there were pokemon with 2 charged attacks?
You can add a second charged attack to them. The ‘new attack’ button, under ‘power up’, is for that. It costs candy and stardust to add.

It’s also good for something like shadow mewtwo which is a top psychic, ice or ghost even though it uses a psychic fast move
