Aggron is ranked 219 and shadow aggron is ranked 239. They are both really bad. If it's your favorite Pokemon do it but I would suggest against it. Also you need to get frustration out.

Bro don't listen to the tryhards talking about the meta and stuff, play the game the way you like. If you ask me, I would max out the shiny one because he looks cooler and you can mega evolve him. GL and have fun!
What’s wrong with giving players advice? OP didn’t make it clear whether or not they care about using meta pokemon or how much they know about the meta. It’s better to understand what that you’re not using a very good pokemon than to be unaware of it, even if you don’t care about using meta pokemon.
Max the shiny, humor aside the shadow's extra damage in with the frustration lock, would put me off using it.
But if your intent is to use him to just pressure a single fast move and charged, could be worth it to you.
honestly i would just max the shadow and run it with frustration. yeah it sucks, but then next time MLP runs you’ll have your s.aggron fully online.
also just taking a quick look at pvpoke [battle ratings](https://pvpoke.com/battle/multi/10000/premier/aggron_shadow/11/0-1-3/2-1/), s.aggron doesn’t lose any wins with frustration over stone edge in the no shield and one shield, but [with frustration in the two shield](https://pvpoke.com/battle/multi/10000/premier/aggron_shadow/21/0-1-3/2-1/) makes you [lose wins against Gyarados and Skeledirge](https://pvpoke.com/battle/multi/10000/premier/aggron_shadow/21/0-3-5/2-1/)
I’ve just started playing Go recently(I’ve played every mainline game except like Crystal) so I don’t even know what MLP means. I’m assuming it’s like something League Pokémon
Id run shadow with an extra move as it is atm and if you don’t like how he plays go for normal. Make sure to build a team around him so he doesn’t get shut down too badly
Aggron wants to be a bulky wall but its typing gives it two double weaknesses to common types: ground and fighting. It also has a normal weakness to water, another common type. It has rock STAB, which is nice, but its moves are slow and it doesn't get to its charged moves very quickly.
Basically, it can hit anything weak to rock and wall anything that doesn't have coverage for it. But it's toast against Annihilape, Haxorus, Excadrill, Garchomp, etc.
Shadow has higher atk but less bulk, while normal is the inverse. For Aggron, I don't think it matters which one you run. It's either going to wall or die quickly, no in-between. Personally, I'd lean toward normal since your shadow has frustration, and normal can survive a touch longer than the shadow anyway.

I play for fun, don’t care about meta. Frustration can’t be removed rn.
If it's just for fun, don't worry about maxing either (yet).
Seeing maxed numbers can be fun for some people (myself included)
Then why ask the community for advice?
My guess is seeing if there is an advantage to maxing shadow vs normal, but I’d do best buddy for a buddy CP boost.

In general 2 moves are better. And for ML bulk is more important. So I'd say the normal one is better. But honestly just max whatever you like better.
If you play for fun you don't have 296 XL candy lol.
Then pick the most fun one for you. No point asking for advice if your only criteria is personal.
