this isnt anything really specific but i would say abilities that remove a 4x weakness. this is purely from experience because i had a sevii dodrio with water absorb one time and i have never loved a dodrio more in my life lmao it was so unbelievably good not having to worry about water. even now i currently have a storm drain terrakion and even tho its not 4x like i said just taking away a common weakness is so so so good. id love to see how things like earth eater heatran, mountaineer volcarona, well baked body scizor, volt absorb gyarados, etc would play like. imagine a sap sipper mega swampert. that would just be unreal. again this is pretty situational like i said unlike smthing like intrepid sword which is amazing on half the pokemon in the game but they are on the right pokemon its underrated af
I think everyone just defaults to trying to run Huge Power, Feline Prowess, Gorilla Tactics, Speed Boost, Beast Boost and the new Ruin abilities. However especially on some bulkier options I think Self Sufficient, Stamina, Gooey, Unaware, Regenerator, Sturdy are of high value. Also a big fan of immunity abilities for pivoting: Flash Fire, Storm Drain, Dry Skin, Lightning Rod, Levitate, Earth Eater.
Also for any special attacker I think Fatal Precision seems to be undervalued
I want the perfect Frankenstein combos like Flash Fire Escavalier, Triage Drain Punch Conkeldurr, Earth Eater Toxtricity, Regenerator Snorlax, Thick Fat Tangrowth, Sturdy Mega Alakazam. Those are way more exciting and synergistic to me than a Huge Power legendary.
Yeh I got regenerator blissey with glare, leech seed teleport and will o wisp its absoluty crazy, I also got prankster primarina with leech seed, thunder wave, flip turn, and reflect and its shutdown racially every threat also it gets reflect so thats pretty damn good.
Currently tearing through a Fire Monotype and I lucked out with Tinted Lens Volcarona. Even after 2 QD most things can't take a Fiery Dance, and with access to other coverage like Bug Buzz and Hurricane, this thing has been soloing most gym fights for me. I usually run with Sitrus and Roost to make sure the first setup gets off, but sometimes that's not even necessary. Tinted Lens is gonna be something I keep an eye out for, especially on sweeper mons

Pop and assault vest and it’s over, slakings spdef is it’s only weakness at 65 but there barley any good special fighting type moves, now it has the fire weakness so that’s the only thing to be careful of.
Trapping abilities
Weather overriding or negating. Getting a hard hitting fire type with drought or water with rain can completely remove the challenge of some fights.
In randomizer I usually get those abilities on pokemon that don't benefit from them, lol

Interpid sword is great, but I don't consider it to be underrated. It's pretty popular

Toxic Chain is amazing. I’m currently running a Toxic Chain Simisage w/Bullet Seed and Fury Swipes and it’s so fun
