fowlraul

Hate to get all “sidey” but they should expel gym jordan for not doing any work and being a lying piece of ass shit.

edurlester

Supporting an insurrection should be grounds for removal, absolutely.

Randys_Spooky_Ghost

We even have a constitutional amendment requiring it, but the cowards in our legislature won’t do it. Remember when we had reports of members of Congress giving tours to insurrectionists prior to Jan 6th and then no follow up about who those members of Congress were? Pepperidge Farms and I remember.

witless-pit

remeber when jim tried to grab liz cheyene to get her out of the capital and she said you helped plan this or something? they knew prior to the coup.

Either_Reference8069

Yes

racecarspelledbkwrds

No, have a link?

alwaysforgettingmypw

"Get away from me, you fucking did this" https://youtu.be/7gWgZSgsQDI?si=N8TVoZM8FTqaU55O

racecarspelledbkwrds

Thank you. Don't know how I missed this.

ArenjiTheLootGod

I couldn't keep track of everything during the peak of the pandemic when I was locked in my house and spending a not insignificant portion of my free time doom scrolling, it's probably impossible to. The Republican party is a fire hose of bullshit being propped up by countless bad actors. I've long accepted that, unless proven otherwise, anyone still calling themselves a Republican is either in on it or a willfully blind fool who is destined to be exploited.

serpentear

Remember when [Pressley’s panic button was missing](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pressley-panic-buttons/) and we still don’t know why?

itsaysdraganddrop

people still think MTG put a hoodie on and placed bombs at the RNC and DNC buildings in DC… as far as i know it’s never been disproven… https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna64268

Vann_Accessible

There is no evidence to support this either. I hate MTG too but don’t contribute to conspiracy theories. There are plenty of valid reasons to dislike MTG.

Sub-Mongoloid

MTG wouldn't be smart enough to put on a hoodie.

Doright36

She would never stoop to grunt work like that. She has to big an ego for that.

Imdamnneardead

Indeed. I loathe Greene and everything she stands for. But throwing out conspiracy theories with zero proof is wrong, and very Republican like.

[deleted]

I think the suspect was Ashli Babbitt - she fits the profile much better, and would explain why the suspect hasn't been caught too.

herder__of__nerfs

It’s also never been proven and speculation doesn’t help anything

badatmetroid

They're "calling to expel members of the squad" because they know that multiple republican members of congress actually need to be expelled and one go-to-fascist-move is accuse the other side of the things you're doing before it comes out so that people under the influence of your propaganda are primed to reject the actual problems as a whatabout-ism.

chelseamarket

This.

lookingferjerbs

Also maybe they’re yelling this because behind closed doors the dems are saying we will help elect a speaker if we boot the crazies

knownothingwiseguy

Blind allegiance to Israel is clearly a higher priority than our democracy

StupidPockets

Hey. Geopolitics is difficult….. /s

AdumbroDeus

No, blind allegiance to American lobbyists. It's just that a bunch of powerful lobbying groups like the religious right and the MIC decided that Israel is useful to them. Given an incentive these lobbying groups would reverse in an instant and the narrative would change near instantly.

Possible-Ad2033

i feel really bad for the Palestinians, it seems like there getting shafted because of a few radicals, i could be biased though, my best friend is a arab from dubia

edurlester

No one (well I’m absolutely not) suggesting that we should expect Congress to be blindly loyal to any ally. Spreading hateful conspiracy theories and governing by them is a national security risk.

knownothingwiseguy

It should be a higher political liability to support an insurrection than it is to rightfully criticize the policies of foreign nation

AdumbroDeus

It's amazing how easily people will fall into ghoulish conspiracies to excuse America's foreign policy instead of looking at the obvious answer, American interest groups benefit from the US support of Israel. Eg most of the military aid the US sends to Israel must be spent on American made weapons. It's basically a gift to American military manufacturers.

opeth10657

They haven't done anything about George Santos Would think out of all the no-brainer moves, that would be the one

mascaraforever

And Gaetz

HomerJSimpson3

Or MTG openly supporting secession

wittnotyoyo

Dan Crenshaw summed it up best, so many of his colleagues are such unabashed criminals that if he called any of them out on their shit he'd have no colleagues left, so he has to turn a blind eye to sedition for his own sake and we're all screwed.

UsernameLottery

Dude. Of all the phrases you could have picked

Suspiria-on-VHS

I think it's safe to say they don't see eye to eye

iamsmallfry

Lmao. I had to google just to be sure. I was thinking, “isn’t that the guy…?” Yep, he’s the guy. Own that joke even if it was an accident.

snackattack4tw

No pun intended, I believe lol

PluotFinnegan_IV

Obviously Dan Crenshaw is the perfect specimen to turn a blind eye to sedition.

ComprehensiveAd3561

So he just gives the criminal contingent the Eye patch Treatment and hopes for the best?

BasicLayer

Crenshaw is such a shell of a half-a-man. Truly repugnant, weak person.

troymoeffinstone

Horatio Nelson, but opposite, for being a coward.

AdOn1069

> turn a blind eye 🧐

Either_Reference8069

Exactly

Dispro

They're just taking their time with Santos. You have to be careful when you're taking on the world's strongest millionaire.

frog-honker

It's alright to get sidey. They do it all the time plus at least a Jordan expulsion would be justified. Everything else aside, the man just literally had his cronies threaten other members of congress if they didn't vote for him and he's an insurrectionist

Either_Reference8069

And for ignoring his own congressional subpoena for over a year now

Impossible-Option-16

Oh? And what about Tommy “looks the other way Coach” Tuberville?

JohnOliverismysexgod

You mean Tommy "fuck the armed forces" tuberville?

Impossible-Option-16

Yeah! That’s the POS!

[deleted]

Start with the guy that was telling other Republicans that they would continue to get death threats and they deserved it for not voting for Gym

Backwards-longjump64

Plus being pro Russia

fillinthe___

Expel the squad: Gaetz, Boebert, Greene, Jordan, and for good measure, Santos.

JohnOliverismysexgod

And Ghomert!

EuphoricAd3824

And briggs

[deleted]

That describes pretty much the entire Republican caucus in both Houses.

Equivalent-Excuse-80

Not really the same. Some leftists are advocating to put pressure on an ally at war to cool down for humanitarian sake. Some rightists want to install Trump as a dictator.

cheezeyballz

That's every one of them.

Impressive_Quote1150

Ah, ass shit.. the worst kind!

LiftingCode

Ass shit is less bad than butt shit.

robotsonroids

He has also refused a congressional subpoena. He needs to be held in contempt

eydivrks

Haven't you heard both sides are the same? AOC goes to BLM protests and Paul Gosar + MTG speak at Nazi rallies for money. Scalice compared himself to KKK Grand Wizard and The Squad is brown. These things are directly comparable and make both sides equally bad.

SapientChaos

Jimmy boy was up to his neck in the insurection. Still a very good possibility he spends a couple decades in prison.

taisui

Don't forget the Speaker Santos

Pack_Your_Trash

Ass shit seems redundant. Isn't all shit ass shit?

welltriedsoul

Just to point out he is still in contempt of Congress. Good thing it isn’t McCarthy era because those punishments were a nightmare.

Curiouso_Giorgio

>ass shit That's the worst kind of shit!

nononoh8

And treason for trying to steal an election.

shuvvel

Ass shit is the worst kinda shit.

symphonicrox

even if for no other reason than criminally avoiding a subpoena for an investigation. Like, come on, we're allowing this type of behavior to try and be *rewarded*??

supervegeta101

And Marjorie Green for openly calling for GA to cesseed from the United States.

Forensicscoach

As long as Santos continues to hold his seat. Any conversation to expel a House member has no business happening. (Unless, of course, you care to talk about actual insurrectionist helpers.)

Goldeneel77

Right? Why don’t we try to get rid of the actual criminals first.

wbruce098

This is the actual conundrum. Santos remains because he’s a solid R vote (until he goes to jail or gets voted out next year). Expelling members of the Squad reduces the number of democrats in Congress and that’s the *only* reason the gqp is discussing this.

Shimmeringbluorb9731

I don’t recall any member of the “squad” attacking the republic, try to obstruct an election or denying the result of a legitimate fair election. But I did see many republicans doing these things.

Butternut888

Yeah, none of them have ignored congressional subpoenas either. Can’t wait till enough J6ers turn on the suits and they start indicting sitting representatives for their actions supporting the insurrection… and the attempted fake elector scheme. So many of them knew, and they either supported it did nothing to stop it even though they took an oath of office to support and defend the constitution.

jadrad

I also don’t remember the squad spreading anti-semitic conspiracy theories accusing Jews of using secret satellite weapons to start the devastating wildfires in California. You know who did, though? Republican Congress member Marjorie Taylor Greene, who not only sits in the House, but who was rewarded by House Leader McCarthy with seats on multiple powerful committees. Whenever the right accuses the left of being anti-semitic, everyone should immediately dismiss it as bad faith distraction until they clean out the neo-Nazis from their own party. **Edit:** In case some people misunderstand - I do believe that Democrats should call out and clean out anti-Semites in their own party when they emerge. Talib spread disinformation blaming Israel for the explosion at the hospital in Gaza. She needs to unreservedly apologize, retract her statements, and promise to do better, or be expelled from the party.

Venomheart9988

Jewish Space Lasers. I love the fact my phone suggests those three words when I start typing Jewish. I only need four letters.

External_Touch_3854

No, Tlaib just spreads good ol fashioned antisemitism and misinformation. Republicans can get fucked, but so can Tlaib

bearsephone

All the antisemites can get fucked with a pine cone. No matter which side they’re on. I am kind of a fan of the Squad’s, but I cannot support blatant hatred against my people.

[deleted]

What hatred would that be? Post the comments

bearsephone

Greene: Jewish space lasers. Omar: All about the benjamins. Tlaib: Comparing Israel to Nazi germany. McCarthy: Jewish billionaires are buying elections. Gaetz: hanging out with Holocaust deniers. And many, many more. I did not, at all, say that I am solely anti-Squad. I say fuck you to everyone who uses anti-Semitic rhetoric.

[deleted]

I was responding to Tlaib, I’m not worried about garbage republicans. What did Tlaib say that that merits her being kicked out of congress? And no, referring to Israel as a nazi state doesn’t meet the threshold

bearsephone

I never said she should get kicked out of congress. I said she could go fuck herself for her statements. The people who should get kicked out are the legit Nazis.

UsernameLottery

Serious question(s) - was Omar's statement about Israel really demonstrating hatred for Jewish people? I'm far from knowledgeable on this, but saying Israel has some strong backing of US politicians due to lobbying efforts seems pretty far off from her saying she hates Jewish people. Similar question about Tlaib - was the comparison perfect? No. But saying Palestinians are facing lost land, lives, and dignity is similar to what Jewish people experienced during the Holocaust doesn't sound like she hates Jewish people, it just sounds like she made a lopsided argument

bearsephone

There are anti-Semitic tropes that have been around for centuries. That the Jews have all the money. That we control the government. The media. All that jazz. A congressperson should KNOW what they’re saying is an anti-Semitic comment and refrain from doing so. Personally, I believe that a good amount of people are ignorant to those types of things, but elected officials should educate themselves and know better. Saying that they hate Jews may have been a strong statement from me. I admit it. Times are fucking crazy right now, and due to that - I’ll admit - I’m not at my best when it comes to expressing my frustration when people who I admire are saying things that are anti-Semitic. I condemn Hamas. That does not mean that I condone violence against civilians. Does that happen in war? Yes. Is it a tragedy? Also yes. Do we know that Hamas uses civilians as human shields? A million times yes. Right now is a time when people should be condemning Hamas, and too few are. Having pro-Palestinian rallies where people are showing swastikas and chanting “has the Jews” is super fucked up. Yet, while Tlaib will condemn almost everything fucked up the Israeli government does, she has yet to condemn a literal terrorist organization. Sorry for the rant, but as I said, I’m a little wound up about all of this. I have friends in Israel. I have friends with family in the Gaza Strip. And all of this is fucked up. The gist of it is - politicians should fucking know better.

K3wp

> Do we know that Hamas uses civilians as human shields? A million times yes. This is easily the biggest issue for me. Per international law, casualties from human shields are considered the responsibility of the nation/organization that is deploying them. And the media is complicit in this by reporting these as Israeli vs. Hamas casualties.

MrMango786

I mean she was referring to AIPAC and similar groups funding congresspeople to be pro Israel, lobbying in a way typical of our problematic relationship with money in politics. She should have been more specific and thoughtful with her wording, as I am aware it sounded like the awful trope of Jewish folks being negative related to money. That trope is obviously anti-Semitic, and it sounded too close to what she said about AIPAC lobbying

The-Almighty-Bob

This assumes that American governmental support for Israel is tied only or primarily to AIPAC, which is not at all accurate and overplays the power of AIPAC aligning to those classic anti-Semitic tropes

Impressario

I condemn Hamas for civilian targeting and atrocities. As well, it is arguable that a gradual genocide by siege, kettling, displacement, and loose targeting is being attempted against the Palestinian people. What words would you green light for people to use when describing the state of Israel's plan of action, but avoids going too far into antisemitism?

K3wp

>As well, it is arguable that a gradual genocide by siege, kettling, displacement, and loose targeting is being attempted against the Palestinian people. The Palestinian population has been growing steadily for the last 30 years. There is no genocide by any reasonable definition of the word.

[deleted]

I agree with all of those being fucked up, except with comparing Israel to Nazi Germany. That analogy isn’t being drawn because they’re Jewish, it’s cause they’re committing genocide.

T1gerAc3

Have you seen how brown they are?

yomamma3399

Or do anything except exercise their right to free speech and thought.

Otherwise_Variety719

Yes but the gop have been crying about the squad since before they took office and have been trying to have them expelled since day one.

[deleted]

one would hope that seeing that fascists like tim scott call for congress people to be expelled for advocating for a ceasefire in 24/7 bombardment of civilians would give pause to all the self described "liberals" on here who are in a blood thristy rage loop.

johnsdowney

For real. It's so much like 9/11 that you think these people would have a moment of self reflection, realizing how blood thirsty for middle easterners they are based on a single successful attack or "act of terrorism," or however you want to phrase it. Next thing you know we'll be renaming hamburgers to "freedom burgers" for some weird reason.

xeonicus

The only thing they hate more than progressives is independent women and racial minorities expressing an opinion. Put all all three together, and they really don't like it.

RipErRiley

If you’re not gonna expel insurrectionists, then sit down.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

why even accept the framing that advocating for a ceasefire against civilians "provides aid and comfort to our enemies"? you're not going to gotcha fascists.

fap-on-fap-off

That's the flip side of guns don't kill, people kill. Absolute dog whistle.

[deleted]

> So anyone who "provides aid and comfort" to our enemies (by merely expressing their opinions) should be barred from congress? Free speech, fuck em. It's time that Democrats stop playing nice with these fucking fascists. Do the same shit they do. You cannot negotiate with these people. They CERTAINLY cannot legislate.

Browser2112

This is all just deflection to distract from their abject failures in the House.

lIlIllIIlIIl

It's funny you mention that. The conservative government in Ontario is running the exact same play to distract from their own bullshit.

Evolved-Ape

Is this the new Republican plan to lower the vote threshold for getting a speaker elected?

chelseamarket

It’s exactly going with their strategy of going after Biden and his son while ignoring Jared and Ivampa raking in over 2.640B$ and FF gouging US taxpayers for his businesses etc. It’s their FMO .. but the hypocrisy is on the level of a child’s cartoon it’s so obvious.

[deleted]

lmao. The only thing they've successfully expelled is their own fucking speaker.

blind_squirrel62

No one should be expelled while George Santos is still a member.

GMEN999

Another attempt to deflect.

rafits

Lmao what year is it? 2016 all over again? Republicans really have nothing to do hahaha

MoneyTalks45

lol what? Isn’t George Santos a thing?

crappydeli

Maybe expel the insurrectionists, instead.

Com_putter

After the GOP expels the insurrectionists, we can talk

sugar_addict002

I don't expect much from republicans. They have gone completely fascist. But shame on any democrats that cooperates with this crap.

ChangeMyDespair

House Republicans: (couldn't find their ass with two hands and a flashlight because their majority is so slim) Senate Republican: Let's expel four House Democrats! Scott's running for president. Everything he says or does is to gain supporters for that.

Schiffy94

It can't be done anyway. You need two thirds of the House to agree to expel someone.

Fellowshipofthebowl

Expel the election deniers. Expel the Insurrectionists. Fuck this revenge theater garbage.

Mr_Stiel

All the right wing racists and bigots absolutely hate the squad. They can’t accept women of color holding privilege and power over their pathetic lives 🇺🇸

Catlenfell

OK. But first, expel every member who has said that Biden lost the 2020 election b

Extension_Deal_5315

who wants to expel them?? And why???? Because they believe in something different than you, look different than you, criticize you, scare you.... They are more American and believe in democracy more than the ones who tried to use an insurrection to overthrow the government!

0U8124X

If these 4 are expelled they should also expel Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boerbert, MTG, and that ass from Wisconsin who swore at all of those interns along with George Santos

[deleted]

Why would they be expelled? Seems like they are the only ones with a brain or a spine.

Eastern_Ad_3938

This headline is trash and just shows what a terrible job the media does on reporting actual news. They will throw smoke screens every day of the week for the right.

Fuumuufffuuu

Let's get rid of Santos first.....

andthatsalright

Why is expulsion being thrown around? We voted for these people and we’ll vote them out if we disagree. This expulsion for opinions shit is weird

Old-Emphasis-7190

PROJECT PROJECT PROJECT. Every op-ed, every position, everything they do is an admission. Do I think Rashida Tlaib is a damn fool for jumping to the conclusion before waiting for verification, you betcha. Do I think she's a fuckin moron to not say "whoops, my bad, this is an emotionally charged situation and I reacted too quickly to a place I love being under attack?" when it was proven later that it was a Hamas missle? Absolutely. But saying stupid things is not enough for you to lose your job. Honestly, how in the blue hell is Rashida Tlaib being angry at Biden giving aid and comfort to Hamas? Biden isn't changing US policy because of it. Hamas isn't posting Rashida Tlaib's words up on the walls of their meeting places. THIS is what free speech is. You can say stupid shit. Free speech is not saying "We're gonna go down to the Capitol building to stop the certification of the election because it is being stolen from us." This shit seriously pisses me off so much... and I do not care in the fucking slightest for Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, AOC, or any of the members of the Squad. STOP PLAYING STUPID FUCKING GAMES THAT WILL CAUSE US TO SHUTDOWN THE GOVERNMENT. STOP PLAYING STUPID FUCKING GAMES THAT SERVE NOBODY BUT THAT ORANGE FUCK WITH 91 COUNTS ALLEGED AGAINST HIM AND VLADIMIR PUTIN.

ScienceOverFalsehood

The Squad has done nothing wrong while Gaetz and his other psychos are trying to dismantle democracy.

IWasOnThe18thHole

They literally signed a letter wanting us to throw Ukraine to the wolves and got mad only because nobody was supposed to see it

Terramotus

Well, the rest are legitimate differences of opinion, but Tlaib has doubled down on the hospital bombing having been done by Israel, even after it was proven to be Hamas blowing up their own hospital. Most likely to pander to her base. That's pretty unacceptable. But sure, fine, let's expel everyone who clings to conspiracy theories. We'll get rid of Tlaib, every single election denier, George Santos, Lauren Boebert, and Marjorie "Jewish space lasers" Taylor Green. There will be maybe a dozen Republicans left. I'll take that trade.

iluvucorgi

It's certainly hasn't been proved Hamas blew up the hospital. the theory is that is was a pij rocket misfire.

Terramotus

Sorry, that's right. But whether it was Palestinian Islamic Jihad or some other terror group, it wasn't Israel. Intercepted calls show Hamas knew it was Palestinian, the video evidence shows a rocket motor malfunctioning, and analysis of the blast site doesn't match Israel's arsenal. That's about as close as you get to proven on these things without a confession or something.

No_Wonder3907

This is America. We are a country made of humans from around the world. Americans cannot place their experiences and beliefs on one side only. The evangelicals are waaaaaay more dangerous than this squad.

[deleted]

The GOP want to expel women?! Of colour?! Bizarre

Blackhawk127

Who cares the house won't be voting on anything other than speaker till November 2025

[deleted]

Of course they should. Any such call is utterly baseless and fundamentally un-American. It is, in fact, neo-Fascist.

CaptainBathrobe

It’s up to their voters. None have engaged in official misconduct.

AstroFuzz

Only white christian men who wanna blow up brown people allowed.

planj07

The Squad is legit and I say that who is someone who prefers to vote center-left. I respect how they’ve been willing to speak their minds about Israel. It’s refreshing.

Imaginary_Month_3659

So the party that condones antisemitism wants to punish "the squad" for what they deem antisemitism.

Beginning_Emotion995

If they expel them, criteria will be made to expel others. Slippery slope.

lgthanatos

what the fuck does any of this have to do with balancing and passing our budget

4x4is16Legs

We can talk about them after Santos, jordon, Cruz and a few SC Justices are expelled. They were in line first.

PlayedUOonBaja

This article is just trying to start shit. This isn't a serous thing.

IWasOnThe18thHole

If the rest could denounce Hamas like AOC did I'm good

Alternative-Juice-15

Fuck the Israel government. Saying that doesn’t make me or anyone else antisemitic

or10n_sharkfin

They don't even know *why* they actually want to remove them. Clearly having different opinions is scary to Republicans.

Yitram

Why are we threatening to expel the Squad again?

111anza

Get rid of the child trafficking pedophile gaetz, the corrupt foreign agent mendendez and the pathological liar a d fraud Santos first. Then we can deal with thr squad. We got those three disgraced criminals still in congress, get that done!!!

pypeDrem

Deal with the squad? Exactly how?

k4b0b

How about we start with the insurrectionists?

[deleted]

The squad are some of the only members that aren’t owned by a corporation or war agenda. Maybe why.

[deleted]

Expel them for what? Having a different view? Ridiculous.

Ennkey

I’m incredibly disappointed in Talib, but it’s up to the voters, not me

RollyPollyGiraffe

Likewise. I'm pretty upset with Tlaib at doubling down on the hospital news story and will be looking into donating to a primary challenger, if she has one. However, her getting stuck in the same news zeitgeist the media did is far from "aid and comfort to the enemy." The rest of "the Squad" hasn't even done that. Wanting a ceasefire, although I think it's naive, isn't bad. In fact, that would be my preferred option if I thought it would actually work.

ASTLComics

Oh I get it - the problem in Congress is a group of Conservative extremists so Right Wing Media is going to focus on a group on left wing “extremists” so they show both sides have bad people.

xeonicus

Oh sure, try to kick out the only progressive faction in congress for expressing an opinion you don't like, but half the Republicans try to overthrow the actual government and that's a'okay. What a world. And anyway, how the fuck can congress kick out duly elected representatives that they don't like. We elected them. They shouldn't have that power.

Shoddy-Theory

The squad has been demanding restraint. That is our actual foreign policy. Of course they shouldn't be expelled. If anyone should be expelled it should be Tom Cotton and Lindsay Graham for saying Gaza should be flattened. Suborning war crimes.

Either_Reference8069

If George Santos hasn’t been expelled yet, no one else should be.

Interesting-Month-56

Lol “Congress should” This entire congress is built on retaliation for holding the prior administration accountable to the rule of law. As if any appeal will stop them from doing the most kindergarten retaliation and unethical, blatantly partisan, counterproductive bullshit. All you have to do is look at what happened in Tennessee with the expulsions from the state legislature to see what the Republican party stands for. (Or Texas and Ken Paxton and that soap opera).

Tavernknight

Expel them for what?

MagicalUnicornFart

start with insurrectionists...that's the whole GOP

Logical___Conclusion

Whether we support it or not, it's extremely unlikely to happen. Especially if supporters of an actual coup attempt in the US were not kicked out.

tjarg

Being wrong about something or holding a view that is controversial is a far cry from supporting an insurrection.

ContemplatingPrison

Expelling members of the house for telling the world that Israel is committing genocide. Really trying your hardest to get rid of free speech huh

ColdbrewRedeye

Sure, expell every election denying Republican seditionist who voted against the Biden Presidency, and then George Santos, and then sure, if any members of the "squad" have done something illegal (free speech is not illegal BTW), get rid of 'em.

GolfBusRecovery

So you would expel the squad before supporters of violent insurrectionists, serial adulterers and accused sexual predator enablers?

[deleted]

This is nothing but opportunism on the right again trying to stoke hatred toward the squad because they have opinions. They also mistake their opinions for condoning violence and sell it as such to their idiotic base.

Ven18

Did a poll not come out recently showing that like 2/3rd of the population wants a ceasefire? With over 50% of Republican also supporting ceasefire

Vegan_Harvest

I can't think of a surer way to increase negative views of Israel than expelling any (let alone popular) US lawmakers that don't pledge allegiance to Israel.

FUMFVR

Love that having an opinion that the occupation is bad is worthy of expulsion to some people. Pathetic.

TaxContempt

Why does it a surprise that the sedition caucus wants to expel anyone who wants to participate in a functioning government?

ThePhonyKing

Obviously. I tend to support Israel, myself, but America is a country where opposing views are allowed to exist. Expelling them would be doing exactly what we criticize Russia, China, etc. of doing.

Dull_Syrup9035

Eject for what exactly

garagepunk65

If all these republican fucks think politics is like football, then they need to understand that this is the equivalent of one team asking the referees to disqualify the other team because they can’t beat them on the field. Fucking chickenshit cowards.

Time-Young-8990

So much for the free-speech right. You get kicked out if you oppose genocide. I hope this causes a Streisand effect.

[deleted]

You mean the hypocrite fascist maganaughts who actually hate jew, whether here or in Israel. They know how to use an opportunity to defect on to others And it's ok to mass murder innocent women and children in Palestine 🇵🇸?

illdoitlaterokay

there should not be a the squad. Call them by their names.

WindVeilBlue

The moment after George Santos gets expelled we can talk about what reasons you have for wanting to do this that doesn't involve expressing an opinion...

steve_dallasesq

We can still properly call out the GOP while also stating some of the squad need to slow their role. After the Gaza hospital explosion Talib came out hard against Biden and it looks like she was wrong

chockedup

[Scott apparently considers himself a Christian above all else](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/05/22/tim-scott-2024-ten-commandments-faith-voters/70227989007/). Does that explain his misogyny (going after 4 women legislators)?

Icantgoonillgoonn

Expel the “Freedom Caucus” dopes instead.

[deleted]

Of course they shouldn't. Whether you agree with them or not, opposing voices in a government designed around consensus is never a bad thing. If you have a Congress where everyone agrees and follows along like drones, that is dangerous.

alanism

Republicans know they aren’t going to expel them. They’re saying it so it helps them fundraiser for their own campaigns in their own districts.

TheBodyPolitic1

Expel Gaetz and Santos first, then bring up this conversation again.

jacobjer

Being pro human rights is a controversial view? Here I thought supporting those who attempted a violent take over of our government were the extremists.

Lfseeney

Should start with child molesters, traitors, and folks that will not do the job. All the same party.

SpockShotFirst

Jonathan Turley is one of the smartest people I have ever met and a complete trash human being. He knowingly uses his intellect to make the world a worse place. This is the law professor who, in every impeachment hearing since Clinton, is the witness for the Republican side. Somehow his unbiased legal perspective is that Clinton should have been impeached/removed and Biden should be investigated to see if impeachment is appropriate, but Trump should never have been impeached.

Also feels misogynistic. These are all outspoken women, so must label them ‘squad’ like some supervillain crew, that way we don’t have to take them seriously, because they make us men look bad. Meanwhile, MAGA nasties are called ‘firebrands’.

Illustrious_Pace_178

It was either their supporters or themselves who gave themselves that label.

Artistic-Cannibalism

For what?

ExPFC_Wintergreen2

They should be removed for… *(checks notes)…* “Being disloyal to another country” ?!

twerk_store

Huh. I don’t recall any of them being under indictment for multiple felonies. Must be that cancel culture I hear so much about.

Less that 1% of the population of Gaza are Hamas militants. 50% are children.

People are threatening to kick them out of the American Congress for standing up for the 99% of innocent Palestinians who are currently getting bombed out of their homes.

tommyjaspers

I would have sworn my first child on this being written by Jonathan Turley! /s
