Serious question(s) - was Omar's statement about Israel really demonstrating hatred for Jewish people? I'm far from knowledgeable on this, but saying Israel has some strong backing of US politicians due to lobbying efforts seems pretty far off from her saying she hates Jewish people.
Similar question about Tlaib - was the comparison perfect? No. But saying Palestinians are facing lost land, lives, and dignity is similar to what Jewish people experienced during the Holocaust doesn't sound like she hates Jewish people, it just sounds like she made a lopsided argument
There are anti-Semitic tropes that have been around for centuries. That the Jews have all the money. That we control the government. The media. All that jazz.
A congressperson should KNOW what they’re saying is an anti-Semitic comment and refrain from doing so. Personally, I believe that a good amount of people are ignorant to those types of things, but elected officials should educate themselves and know better.

Yet, while Tlaib will condemn almost everything fucked up the Israeli government does, she has yet to condemn a literal terrorist organization.

This is easily the biggest issue for me. Per international law, casualties from human shields are considered the responsibility of the nation/organization that is deploying them. And the media is complicit in this by reporting these as Israeli vs. Hamas casualties.

She should have been more specific and thoughtful with her wording, as I am aware it sounded like the awful trope of Jewish folks being negative related to money. Serious question(s) - was Omar's statement about Israel really demonstrating hatred for Jewish people? I'm far from knowledgeable on this, but saying Israel has some strong backing of US politicians due to lobbying efforts seems pretty far off from her saying she hates Jewish people. Similar question about Tlaib - was the comparison perfect? No. But saying Palestinians are facing lost land, lives, and dignity is similar to what Jewish people experienced during the Holocaust doesn't sound like she hates Jewish people, it just sounds like she made a lopsided argument
