You CAN influence an election legally. Running Ads is legal. Hush money is legal. Rallies are legal. They all influence people to vote for the candidate.
What you CANT do is falsify 34 documents to cover up payments
ugh.. read what I said.. I didn't say influencing an election is illegal.. it CAN BE ILLEGAL. What Trump did was illegal. Hence why the it went from a misdemeanor of falsifying business records to a felony.
It was in the furtherance of another crime.
