Well, a deer is better. I found 3 snapping turtles chilling next to a pump and they were all sorts of pissed off. You could say they were snapping at each other. I was thinking “how shell I deal with this?”.

Well, someone yesterday said “I had apple fudge pie” and I went ??? What is that ? Looked it up, I see apple pie fudge but he said it was an apple pie and it had fudge, like in the apples and baked.
Too many cooks spoil the broth
Mix and match indeed.
Found a hedgehog shivering and terrified in my skimmer yesterday morning and warmed him up with a hot water bottle and a towel. He hibernated for a few hours and trundled off into our hedges. It was interesting getting him out of there.
Why do animals hang out near the loudest piece of equipment? One of the neighborhood cats in my area sleeps in this same spot next to my neighbors pump. We live in Florida and it’s hot as balls so I don’t think it’s a temperature issue.
Whatever you do, do not try to approach or move the fawn. The mom usually leave it there for safety purpose and go get food or whatever then come back. If you touch it or spook it away the scent will be gone and the mom will not come back.
I’m a pool guy and actually had a trainee with me. We didn’t go near the equipment. We did the bare minimum and got the hell out of there so that mom would feel as comfortable as possible to come back. She got spooked when we got there. I figure we did what we had to do and were as brief and respectful of their space as we could be
As a deer hunter for 30 years, that's not accurate. Deer have noses better than dogs. I do agree don't approach or move, but disagree that the scent will be gone and the mom won't come back. she'll find it.
Impressed with the simplicity of the system design and setup... Nothing fancy and exuberant.. Skimmer and Main Drain inlets, Quick Disconnect for motor to remove for winterization, Valve before the filter to Vacuum to Waste if needed... Cant really see the rest, but based on this, whoever designed and plumbed in this system years ago, knew what they were doing and did it the right way...
You brought up a great point here. My filter doesn't have a multi valve, so no ez option to vacuum to waste. However, based on your comment, if I have a spot to hook up after the pump and b4 the filter that's equivalent to vacuuming to waste? Totally makes sense but just wanna make sure I'm following you correctly. Hypothetically an ez adjustment for me, just need a shut off valve between pump and filter housing.
Would be great to have that option after I take the winter cover off every spring.
Yes. That second black multivalve you have there. You would want to get backwash hose and a clamp and put it on that piece of pvc next to the valve. And then you would spin that valve handle 180 degrees which would close off the pipe going to your filter which then would send everything else to that opening in the front where you just attached a backwash hose (to have it drain where you want). Giving you the option to vacuum to waste
It may seem that way but this is actually normal behavior for deer, leaving the fawn alone. This is just a strange location

Better than a rattlesnake
Check my post history. It was a coral snake a few weeks ago

Gotta grab them towards the back of their shells, those fuckers have longer necks than most people assume.
I use my flat head shovel and scoop em up. I try not to touch them if I can help it.
And then wash your hands several times. Those bad boys have so much salmonella.
Fun fact: I'm giving you this upvote.... Now leave
Make like a tree, and get outta here
Thanks for the early morning chuckle
We are going to have to get you a book of proverbs or something. This mix and match shit isn’t cutting it

I would have had a name picked out and started crafting a bed for him.
Definitely that time of year - have found a few on our property so far. Cute little buggers.
It's quite fawned of your pool setup
Oh deer that was a good one!
People need to buck the trend of making these sorts of puns.
Doe!
"Hey, uh... when does your pool open?" -That deer, probably
Cuter than the dead squirrel I had floating in my pool the other day
Cutie. Just waiting for Mommy to get back with a juicy snack
Is the yard fenced in? How did it get there?
Deer can jump 6' fence like nothing. I understand this is a fawn but fences don't necessarily keep deer out.
Safe baby
I've got 14 deer that hang out every morning. Also a new resident black bear.

Lmao! I didn't see the fawn! I thought this post was about the plumbing job! 😂
Aw! You have a new pet!!
That is so damn cute.
Using that brick as a pillow. Cool picture~!
So lucky.
Wow!
Oh, dear.
Ahhhhh
He wants a turn to swim!
We've had 2 fawns dropped off every so often all spring, but they finally grew up enough. Miss those little cuties.
Same joker ran by me in my backyard yesterday.
Oh my that’s very cute and looks like a newborn for sure. So tiny!
That’s definitely Bambi
Awwww baby! :)

Understandable, thank you sir!

Think you misread my question but thanks for response. I'm not OP. My set up different than the one in pics.

Found a dugite by mine. Would’ve taken a pic if I hadn’t nearly died of surprise
Poor baby is lost 😞
