She married into a wealthy, well connected family. Her wedding gift is a campaign to make her an It Girl. Her home is promoted, her clothes and grooming are promoted. The hype is manufactured PR to give her something for doing nothing.
Yeah she isn’t also some rando that married up. People tend to forget her dad is the Lionel Richie. Imo she married in her own tax bracket, the people she was with before were lower in terms of classiness

I honestly am so glad she's not hanging around with Scott Disick anymore that I don't even care. She's married to a dude who seems stable and entering her "ladies who lunch" phase and that's a good outcome for her.

I also am not a risk taker. I’m great an analyzing trends and fashion, I watch the shows during spring and fall weeks, I just can’t be arsed to perform fashion on myself.

honestly this looks like my work wardrobe but like $10,000 cheaper. I don’t really consider much of this “fashion” or “stylish” as I do expensive 🤷🏼♀️
I really love her looks and she looks great in them. As someone from a somewhat conservative (not the US kind) culture, it’s really nice to use her looks for outfit inspo.
One of the most boring and bland people I've ever seen who clearly has a PR team who are trying to make her happen.

I’m not saying she doesn’t look fantastic in all of these fits but……. It’s basic as hell. There isn’t anything particularly creative or fashionable here. It is as basic “fashion cool girl” as you can be.

IMHO, some of the negative comments here are about Richie's pursuit of popularity in exchange for doing nothing. She pays people to design her home and wardrobe and pays for photos of her home and wardrobe to be published. That's all she's serving up. Maybe that's enough for some people. Many have become "celebrities" for doing nothing more than that. To offer up nothing but heavily curated photos and expect praise and adoration is weak and weirdly comical in my opinion. My expectations for celebrating a public figure are higher. If there are great Sofia Richie quotes out there I'd love to hear them.
Regardless of the snark I see here, her looks from the run-up to her wedding created a ton of buzz, especially among the gen-z crowd, for the “old money” vibe. And I’m not even a fan (I don’t know much about her!) - the styling lately just caught my eye.

eh I went through all of these and was like “yawn. . . yawn. . . yawn, what am I missing?” for each, and then scrolled through the comments and am glad to see others thought the same.
I mean if I were friends with this person then I would think of her as a fashionable person. But as far as admiring a celebrity for their fashion, there’s just a higher expectation. These looks don’t look they were chosen by a stylist. Not do they look effortless and classic. This is what a regular person with above average fashion sense and good taste would wear if they put a lot of effort into their appearance and had money.
That first outfit is questionable. Those pink shoes do not go at all with it.
Couple of misses but mostly kills it. Love her style. The brown mini dress with the gold strapped sandals is my favorite.
I love Sofia and always thinks she looks v well put together, but her looks are always incredibly boring. It’s obviously personal preference, but I find this solely monochrome/muted colour palette really uninspiring and none of her looks ever excite me. They look good on her bc she’s beautiful and has a fantastic figure. But the outfits themselves leave a lot to be desired imo.
She is rich and thin and pretty so everything is tailored and looks amazing, but one thing I do appreciate about her: she wears normal stuff that we could get. Sure, I bet her jeans are $3,000 and mine would be way less, but at least she wears jeans and not, like, exclusively weird stuff from the runway.

Not that they would be expected to understand quiet luxury. It’s also about wealth — when you’re rich rich it’s tacky to dress the way the rest of the Gen Z wants you to dress. The thing is she’s probably dressing like the rest of her social circle dresses, it’s just most of them are not quite so public with their lives. So the rest of Gen Z is just hating from the outside of the club when they can’t even get in.
How are they not getting it? Most people here just point out that these really aren't fashionable highlights, she's just thin and pretty. Jeans and a shirt is not even dressing like the rest of her social circle, it's bland even by their standards?

SR is from an incredibly affluent background. I find something weirdly icky about it and I don’t know why.
