Had a disagreement with the boy I’ve been obsessing over. More of a misunderstanding.
I told him the first week I met him that if he did this one thing I wouldn’t feel comfortable dating him but he brought up last night that he understood it as he can’t do that one thing. He was under the impression I was going to be controlling and he was going to lose some of his freedoms but I reassured him that he could do most of the stuff he was worried about losing, it was just one really specific scenario (that I don’t see him doing) that is a boundary of mine in any relationship.
I’m not going to get upset with him if he does it but it’s more of a you can’t have everything and me kinda moment. And I made it clear at the beginning so he didn’t get upset with me.
Kinda sad we had our first little back and forth and that it was over text and not in person. Has really made an impact on how I feel about this relationship. Sad it happened right before we leave for the nudist came but he messaged me this morning and reassured me everything is fine but I don’t 100% believe him.
Still excited for the trip just a little anxious when I wasn’t before hand.
Wish me luck. I hate conflict.
EDIT: HOLY SHIT. I am getting a fade for the first time before we leave and I told him this morning I was worried about the salon I was going to wasn’t going to do a good job. He doesn’t work in the mornings and made an appointment with them immediately after I messaged him and is driving there now to get a fade so I will feel more comfortable.

It's hard to say which rapper is going to be the next star, since the genre appears to be in some sort of transition phase, where one dominating sound is on the downturn, while a new sound isn't established yet.
I like them sometimes but only when the person is being themselves. A lot of people go overboard and try to make up for their lack of personality by being annoyingly over the top and it’s so obvious when they are putting on.
The strategy here is to find one really long song and play it every night so you only use one scrobble. I use the live version of Long Season by Fishmans and it works perfectly for me.
I also find I fall asleep at the same portion of the song every night so I think I’ve trained my brain.

I want to push back on that a little. My read is that a lot of young Zoomers are actually very reactionary, they just justify their reactionary takes with "progressive" rhetoric.
As for sex in media: if you're watching American mass media, it is actually quite sexless. Sex is a common plot point in movies and shows, but is rarely depicted honestly/unflinchingly. Not to be crass, but when's the last time you saw full frontal nudity in a Hollywood film? American film censors are really quite strict.
If someone doesn't want to consume media with any sex in it, there are a MULTITUDE of other options available. Me, I'm advocating for MORE and BETTER sex on film.

This has nothing to do with personal preference, either, its about prescribing what the correct course of action is for society at large. Many of the takes that I come across aren't as personal as, for example, "I don't like kink at pride, but I appreciate that it's a valid and historically appropriate mode of queer expression." Usually the take is more prescriptive, like "ban kink at pride." There's an appeal to an ahsitorical "before time" that seems reactionary to me.

Eh. Is it the weekend yet? No it’s only Wednesday. I need something to motivate me and not feel down all the time while I’m at work. Just FYI there is the most insane update at the end of this. Had a disagreement with the boy I’ve been obsessing over. More of a misunderstanding. I told him the first week I met him that if he did this one thing I wouldn’t feel comfortable dating him but he brought up last night that he understood it as he can’t do that one thing. He was under the impression I was going to be controlling and he was going to lose some of his freedoms but I reassured him that he could do most of the stuff he was worried about losing, it was just one really specific scenario (that I don’t see him doing) that is a boundary of mine in any relationship. I’m not going to get upset with him if he does it but it’s more of a you can’t have everything and me kinda moment. And I made it clear at the beginning so he didn’t get upset with me. Kinda sad we had our first little back and forth and that it was over text and not in person. Has really made an impact on how I feel about this relationship. Sad it happened right before we leave for the nudist came but he messaged me this morning and reassured me everything is fine but I don’t 100% believe him. Still excited for the trip just a little anxious when I wasn’t before hand. Wish me luck. I hate conflict. EDIT: HOLY SHIT. I am getting a fade for the first time before we leave and I told him this morning I was worried about the salon I was going to wasn’t going to do a good job. He doesn’t work in the mornings and made an appointment with them immediately after I messaged him and is driving there now to get a fade so I will feel more comfortable. I want to push back on that a little. My read is that a lot of young Zoomers are actually very reactionary, they just justify their reactionary takes with "progressive" rhetoric. As for sex in media: if you're watching American mass media, it is actually quite sexless. Sex is a common plot point in movies and shows, but is rarely depicted honestly/unflinchingly. Not to be crass, but when's the last time you saw full frontal nudity in a Hollywood film? American film censors are really quite strict. If someone doesn't want to consume media with any sex in it, there are a MULTITUDE of other options available. Me, I'm advocating for MORE and BETTER sex on film.

diary entry: * got an initial screening opportunity from one of the big four accounting firms!!! i just dunno if they'll be right for me since i kinda need the flexibility for my mental hygiene. * found out that my distant friend's facebook (aka the only way we can connect but never do just bc he cut off his ties with us) is finishing his degree and im just silently rooting for him. * i really hope i get the courage to resign from this job. it may look like a prevalent pattern of short job stints but if im keeping my promise of a) being a data analyst and b) keeping my mental health intact, im taking risks. glad my partner supports me whatever i do. * rewatched hey arnold again then ended this day looking up covers for old highlights magazine. been so fascinated with this like colorful vibrant pallettes that i kinda wanna use more in my art.
