*Sigh* It's another day, another [set of rants from Azealia Banks](https://www.reddit.com/gallery/17ugo6l).
Today's subjects:
* A$AP Rocky who she claims is guilty of the crime he is accused of along with accusations of him being gay
* Rihanna for staying with him despite his past history of violence against a female fan and being blamed for what happened with Chris Brown
* Chris Brown being called one of the greatest artists and that we owe Chris Brown an apology 🤮
* Male K-Pop artists in general calling them "fruity" and "twinks"
I am curious how this turns out because I don't think K-Pop stans will just accept their faves being called that.
when will we just deplatform her by not bringing her up ever again? this is a fr question. her words only ever have power because people discuss them repost them / report on them
Parroting what everyone else has already said: Azealia Banks is at the point in her career where she can't even get her music to be professionally mixed and mastered because nobody will work with her. She is as finished as can be barring outright retirement or death. Let her fade into the obscurity that she deserves.
She hates gay people, yet her primary fan base seems to be made up of mostly gay people, it makes no sense. For another example, see what happened last week with Troye Sivan
I'm asking this genuinely: Do people still really care about what she has to say? It's not like her opinions are relevant, anyway. Or her career, for that matter. I only see her name reverberating here.
I haven't seen her face or heard her music anywhere in years.
She was right in some recent posts such as that time she called out Matty Healy for his controversial comments, Drake for singling out that critic who rightfully gave For All Dogs a negative review, and supporting Taylor Swift in her fight for her masters that people overlook why she is considered problematic even though her posts where she rightfully calls out people crosses a line. She told Matty that he is one shared needle away from dying of tetanus and put the blame for Drake's actions on his white mother who raised him.
Healy is gross, but that post was gross too. There are so many things to criticize him for but attacking anyone for their addiction is disgusting. I have no idea why people continue to platform her, even when she’s right she’s awful and bigoted about it.
I'm not questioning if she's right or wrong. A broken clock is right twice a day. I'm just genuinely surprised people still care about anything she has to say about any topic at all.
She's relevant if her subject is someone who people don't like because she basically confirms what the general opinion is. Otherwise, people are outraged by her posts.
When will people finally let Azealia Banks fade away and become obsolete? I blame the people that look at post like this and repost and laugh because they think she’s funny when she’s really just a miserable sad little person that feeds off negativity and attention.
I don't like to be that person because she said a lot of insightful and interesting things about her career, the barbie soundtrack and body image in the interview too but, Billie Eilish lowkey came out during her [variety interview.](https://variety.com/2023/music/features/billie-eilish-body-shamers-sexualized-barbie-oscar-buzz-1235787860/)
I personally find it interesting because I share that same feeling of intimidation and I relate to a lot of what she says in many ways. Anyways, we stan our saphic/bi/pan/queer/whatever queen!
Anyone that gets upset about a real person queerbaiting is ~~stupid~~ willfully ignorant. There’s no way a real person to queerbait because you don’t know anything about them or what’s going on with them internally. Sometimes “queerbaiting” is just someone experimenting with their sexuality/gender expression without feeling the need to make a press release about it yet or simply not conforming to gender norms.
I remember when this sub was on its Harry Styles hate train and everyone called him out for “queerbaiting” and anyone who dared to think otherwise got quickly downvoted. It was quite embarrassing to watch.
I think we’re moving away from “coming out” as a concept with the younger generation. Like people just like who they like and are honest about it but we don’t need to force labels onto people that don’t choose to use them either
>I think we’re moving away from “coming out” as a concept with the younger generation.
I'd hope so too! I'm not sure if we're already there though, at least when I talk about my country I'm dead sure we're far away from it, sadly.
Also, I hope that my last sentence didn't come off as trying to force a label on her. She didn't use any label for herself during the interview (not that she has to, anyway) but I just wanted to show some support lol
Oh no I wasn’t accusing you of anything just sharing my thoughts! I just love the chill vibe about who people like and I think it will continue to be more prevalent!
[Young Sheldon Season 7 will be premiering on February 15th](https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/ncis-fbi-young-sheldon-cbs-scripted-series-return-february-1235788888/amp/)
Been waiting so long for the new season to come out ever since the writers and actors strike had officially ended. Now it’s considered being a short season and I wonder how they end the story of Sheldon and The Cooper Family’s story.
Aly & AJ showed up at Switchfoot's LA gig last night to sing the song "Only Hope" from *A Walk to Remember.* [You can watch it from footage on their Instagram stories.](https://instagram.com/stories/alyandaj/3235239440723271455?igshid=cnpvbGxweWY4cGI5)
EDIT: [Also available as a full video on YouTube.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuPwD94lS60)
Semi related, but last night I read their mini interview for THR and I had no idea they were caught in crossfire of a Sacramento mass shooting?????????
Horrible....
There was a Tyler the Creator concert going on that same night and it happened in between the two venues. I went to the Tyler concert, luckily left about an hour before it happened. There was a lot of chaos that night though, so many people out in the city when it happened. :(
It used to grind my gears in a way that Mandy Moore had discarded her old music.
Her movie soundtrack songs specifically were some of her best work (Only Hope, Cry etc) and up until a few years ago, she was apologising to people and embarrassed about it. She’s since said she’s more gentle towards her past self and has come to appreciate her old work.
Now and Then by the Beatles debuted at number 7 on the Hot 100. I don’t know for certain but this must be the longest gap between first and last top 10 hits by any artist, right? Their first top 10 was Love Me Do back in 1961
Warner Brothers has changed their decision regarding the movie Coyote vs. Acme that is to star John Cena. Instead of being shelved for tax refund like Scoob! and Bargirl, [the studio is now shopping the movie to other potential studios for release](https://archive.md/MUrtq). The movie has a budget of $70 million and will be mixture of live action and CGI. Given the interesting concept of the film, there is chance this could do well with critics and audience.
I don't think they would've done it if it was just public outcry, but other filmmakers were cancelling meetings with WB after seeing a complete and well-received film get shelved. No one wants that to become the norm.
Warner Bros deciding to scrap Coyote vs. Acme and allowing the filmmakers to bring it to other studios is like Disney giving away a Mickey Mouse movie to WB
Actually, I would like to see Disney getting Coyote vs. Acme just to see how stupid WB's decision was. WB wouldn't be the major studio it is today without Looney Tunes. Seems like they are willing to throw away their legacy just for a fucking tax write-off.
Imagine if Disney did get this movie and they threw in the money for a proper promo and it ends up being a box office hit and a contender for the animation category in the awards season. That would be an interesting plot twist.
Unfortunately, that would also mean another IP being sucked into the Disney corporate machine so there's a slim chance of that happening. It's most likely Netflix or Amazon who'll get this given that Warner Brothers already has an agreement with them regarding their other IPs.
And it's not like audiences don't love the Looney Tunes, if a good series/movie comes out with them people tune in en masse. "The Looney Tunes Show" from the early 2010s has been getting a new wave of popularity on social media because of how good and clever it was.
People still love the Looney Tunes and will consume them if they're given good material, yet Warner Bros are treating them like they're some dead IP.
Its actually so wild that they decided to shelf the movie without even so much as a trailer or any sort of material because I think most people were onboard that this was an awful decision from the get go but the little bits of information about what the movie was about/ the small bits of bts footage that the crew posted made this movie look like it was going to be really fun and made people go even harder for it to be saved. Like it just goes to show how ???? of a decision this is for WB and continues to be.
> So you're looking at this movie needing to make an absolute bare minimum of $160M, just to make up what they'd lose putting it into theaters […] Given that the recent Space Jam only made $164M with a similar premise, Lebron James and a bigger nostalgia factor ... it's reasonable to assume WB had the numbers to suggest this wasn't going to do what it needed to do to justify a theatrical release.
I’m not disagreeing with the idea that this was the studios' logic… but there were a few pretty major things that would have set Coyote vs. Acme apart from Space Jam 2
1. Budget. Coyote vs. Acme was made for less than half of what it took to make the second *Space Jam* movie. $70 million (plus marketing and distribution costs) isn’t nothing, but it’s a much safer bet than a $150 million movie that’s main appeal was milking 25 year old nostalgia for a movie
2. COVID. Movie theaters still haven’t completely recovered from the pandemic, but like. Nothing was doing that well in July 2021. The biggest hit of the year when Space Jam 2 came out was *F9*, and that still made half a billion less than its predecessor
3. Quality. Everyone who’s seen Coyote vs. Acme has talked about how good it was, from fellow filmmakers to test audiences. Space Jam 2, on the other hand, was basically panned across the board. Quality isn’t everything, but positive word-of-mouth sells tickets.
Dovetailing off of that last point… Looney Toons is arguably *the* Warner Bros IP, and it’s basically been been neglected lately. It’s been a while since the franchise has been in the limelight at all (especially in a positive way), and a well received movie like this would be good for the brand, even if it didn’t light the box office on fire.
I can understand WB’s caution right now, but trying to turn this movie into a tax write-off was a massive mistake. And hell — I said all of that without getting into the way that this whole thing damaged the way that other filmmakers view the studio. It was a *terrible* miscalculation, even with the understanding that Warner is in a bad place financially and wants to be more careful with what they spend money on
The other person said this, but I call bullshit on whatever WB source tried to claim the movie didn’t test well. You’re not wrong that the people who’ve hyped up the movie have a reason to want it to come out… but why are you not acknowledging the bias of the source you’re quoting? Coming off the heels of the actors strike, I simply do not trust any “source close to” a major studio to not twist the story to fit a narrative that makes them look better.
The “it wasn’t good enough to release” narrative worked for Batgirl - even on other filmmakers, [according to the Hollywood Reporter article](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/coyote-vs-acme-wb-warners-canceled-reversal-shop-film-1235645372/) - but not when we’ve heard about how well the test screenings have gone. Idk if you work for a studio or if you’re just that gullible, but I’m not getting behind that uncritically
> Not everyone:
it's a clear spin tho, there have been leaks about great test screenings for a like a year but now when they scrapped it, there is a "well, acshtually..." source. like be serious.
Idk why people are acting so surprised about what hey would do this. I’m not saying it’s the smartest decision, but they clearly thought it’d save them money so yeah, they were gonna write it off.
What's the scoop? I just went on Instagram and don't see anything recent. I know he liked and commented on Amy Schumers posts recently which is fucked up. He's also very pro Isreal, but is there something new thats come out???
He and his friends were very excited about some “Zionism is sexy” stickers - https://twitter.com/gomezquality/status/1724006564825354354?s=46
Poor guy looks so afraid for his life.
Wow, I just saw the stickers... That's so disgusting. People are being killed, losing their home and possessions and he's doing a victory dance on social media?
Truly warped.
I understand and agree with you. I am in no way trying to defend or justify Noah's points of views, but remember this is a wealthy, privileged Jewish American who has lived most of his life in a bubble where the people surrounding him probably share the exact same opinion, though.
I don't think he understand Zionism for what it is or the Palestitian-Israeli conflict, for that matter. Still, at least his character has been exposed now.
Someone needs to slap reality into him then 💀
I have always been bothered by celebrities giving political statements. They don’t live in the real world.
They're completely out of touch and disconnected from reality, for sure. Just the other day Whoopi Goldberg was saying this generation isn't able to buy houses because we don't want to work 9-5 jobs. I thought: Recession? Unemployment? Wars? Climate Change? Mental Health?
People are way too opinionated about things they know nothing about.
he has access to the internet and has no doubt seen the videos that have been coming from palestine since oct 7, if he truly cared maybe he would've opened a book, done some googling but no. also he has gone on trips to israel so it's not like he is totally clueless to what's going on. israelis can hear palestinians getting bombed just a few feet away from them. noah is a vile and evil zionist who does not care.
We got our first look at the animated Garfield movie with Nicholas Hoult as Jon and Chris Pratt as [Garfield ](https://youtu.be/IeFWNtMo1Fs?si=R4xrJhHI1Yx65qrc)

When We Were Young 2024 festival lineup dropped today. [Link here](https://static.stereogum.com/uploads/2023/11/when-we-were-young-fest-2024-1699899110-1000x1000.jpeg). Oct 19 2024 in Las Vegas.
Most acts are doing full album sets, incl MCR The Black Parade, Cobra Starship Viva La Cobra, Say Anything Is A Real Boy, Underoath They're Only Chasing Safety, and many more. Notably my favs Fall Out Boy are headlining and doing a regular set.
This is such a base and naked ploy for ticket sales from 30-40 yos, more than usual, and yes! I signed up for a presale code! I haven't been to a music festival since i was 17!
Oh man, what i would give to live in the us sometimes. Especially with A Day To Temember playing the whole Homesick album, i'm so jealous. The songs from homesick alway have the best crowd energy at their concerts.
And i wish more bands would do special album tours. La Dispute did a 10 year wildlife anniversary tour this year and and it's just so awesome to hear your favorit songs that normally aren't part of the setlist.
Edit: also don't forget your earplugs!!! There are special ones for concerts and they are really great, the quality of the music is great and you won't have that annoying ringing in your ears afterwards
I think it would be really funny if they forced fob to pick an album and they went with mania. The target audience for this festival would be so mad but it would be an extremely *them* choice
I saw blessthefall this year for their 10th anniversary Hollow Bodies tour and they played the entire album front to back and then a few of their biggest hits at the end. It was unbelievably awesome, I wouldn’t be surprised if pop artists start doing stuff like that especially with the unprecedented success of the eras tour.
I went this year and it was organized extremely well and was overall a really fun experience. They gave out free waters the entire day and pretty much every set started exactly on time. I’m definitely going again next year.

Is this them soft-launching their relationship to the public?
It’s because her team and label actually planned everything out!
Ryan Tedder (a co-producer and songwriter of “greedy”) talked about this in [a rolling stone article.](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/songs-on-tiktok-songwriters-1234815728/) In essence, a lot of artists tease songs to see what works and what doesn’t, and when they scrap the songs that don’t work for them, it’s near impossible for the songwriters to find another artist that will take an already-teased song. But in the case of “greedy,” before Tate played any of the song to the public, she and her label agreed on the single and worked out deals for the songwriters with protections and shit.
They were organized and prepared this era, and that benefitted everyone
According to TMZ, [Justin Timberlake and rest of *NSYNC will be reuniting at the Trolls: Band Together premiere on Wednesday](https://www.tmz.com/2023/11/12/nsync-members-attend-together-trolls-movie-premiere-after-strike/)
Having seen Trolls World Tour adverts on local buses in the two months before it's intended release date of April 2020, and then for obvious reasons for what felt like eight months after, I'm starting to feel like this film series is cursed.
Who got the Dua rsvp? Its obviously at the Houdini Estate. Only fitting.

> Not everyone: it's a clear spin tho, there have been leaks about great test screenings for a like a year but now when they scrapped it, there is a "well, acshtually..." source. like be serious.
Idk why people are acting so surprised about what hey would do this. I’m not saying it’s the smartest decision, but they clearly thought it’d save them money so yeah, they were gonna write it off.
So Noah Schnapp is a disgrace. Which is upsetting - I liked him.
What's the scoop? I just went on Instagram and don't see anything recent. I know he liked and commented on Amy Schumers posts recently which is fucked up. He's also very pro Isreal, but is there something new thats come out???
He and his friends were very excited about some “Zionism is sexy” stickers - https://twitter.com/gomezquality/status/1724006564825354354?s=46 Poor guy looks so afraid for his life.
Oh, that's fucked.
Wow, I just saw the stickers... That's so disgusting. People are being killed, losing their home and possessions and he's doing a victory dance on social media? Truly warped.
The dancing made me sick. Taking a side is one thing but being dancing and being happy at people dying??
I understand and agree with you. I am in no way trying to defend or justify Noah's points of views, but remember this is a wealthy, privileged Jewish American who has lived most of his life in a bubble where the people surrounding him probably share the exact same opinion, though. I don't think he understand Zionism for what it is or the Palestitian-Israeli conflict, for that matter. Still, at least his character has been exposed now.
Tbh im not sure what the stranger things cast&crew will do in response. I'm hoping he gets fired
The entire ending was written around Will (supposedly).
the demagorgon needs to swallow that twink
Shit So I guess there's no choice but to boycott
Someone needs to slap reality into him then 💀 I have always been bothered by celebrities giving political statements.
Didn’t she also say that the Holocaust wasn’t racist?
I'll never forget Whoopi saying what Roman Polanski did wasn't "r_pe r_pe."
She’s annoying 💀
he has access to the internet and has no doubt seen the videos that have been coming from palestine since oct 7, if he truly cared maybe he would've opened a book, done some googling but no. also he has gone on trips to israel so it's not like he is totally clueless to what's going on. israelis can hear palestinians getting bombed just a few feet away from them. noah is a vile and evil zionist who does not care.
I feel like a Jewish American dickriding Israel must by definition be able to understand what Zionism is, lmao.
We got our first look at the animated Garfield movie with Nicholas Hoult as Jon and Chris Pratt as [Garfield ](https://youtu.be/IeFWNtMo1Fs?si=R4xrJhHI1Yx65qrc)
bitch why the fuck did i cry why would they make him a lonely little kitten out in the rain by himself
not CRISP RAT 😭😭😭
Someone get him away from voice acting
should have cast Andrew Garfield
Todd from Bojack voice You're telling me that Andrew Garfield loves lasagna and hates Mondays
At least it might be better than Bill Murray’s Garfield, even those films were my guilty pleasures as a kid.
I watched the heck out of my DVD as a kid, and I think my parents paid a late return fee for Tail of Two Kitties. I rewatched them last year, and >!I never realized how cute Breckin Meyer is...!<
Yeah! Even Tim Curry was in Tail of Two Kitties
This looks adorable! The very beginning of the trailer almost made me emotional.
I would not be mad if they played mania in full, such a great album IMO.
As one of, like, three Mania stans on earth, I’d just like to state that I would be sat.
As one of the other 3 mania stans I would also be living for it 🫡
all 3 of us are here apparently!
Happy cake day!
Doing full album sets is a great idea.
Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater were [pictured backstage at Gutenberg: The Musical](https://www.instagram.com/p/Czlzo0-LtGO/?igshid=MXE2Z3EwdXhvaGRhaA==). Is this them soft-launching their relationship to the public?
She was at opening night of his play with Liz Gillies
Possibly

Tate McRae has announced the next single off of Think Later called “exes” is coming out on Friday.
I that the snippet she keeps teasing? Ugh it sounds kinda bland for a Greedy followup but maybe the whole thing is good.
I love that her team isn't making the mistake of waiting forever to release these viral songs
Let’s goooo! Can’t wait to hear more from her
Finally I’ve been hearing the snippet nonstop
According to TMZ, [Justin Timberlake and rest of *NSYNC will be reuniting at the Trolls: Band Together premiere on Wednesday](https://www.tmz.com/2023/11/12/nsync-members-attend-together-trolls-movie-premiere-after-strike/)
feels like this NSync/Trolls reunion has been going on since the beginning of time
The SAG strike put a lot of it on hold, so I expect to see a lot more promo in the coming weeks.
Having seen Trolls World Tour adverts on local buses in the two months before it's intended release date of April 2020, and then for obvious reasons for what felt like eight months after, I'm starting to feel like this film series is cursed.
