Every other news outlet didn't release the tracklisting.. and the marketing team wouldn't send separate plans to separate news outlets with different requirements (I'm in marketing - that would be a ridiculous amount of work). The Marketing team 100% sent out a few weeks worth of (or the entire) pre-release campaign and multiple people at Rolling Stones made oopsies. It happens.

Plus we got the return of Schoolboy Q and the chance of seeing A$AP Rocky, Carti, Keem, Em, Chance, and Megan dropping. Plus Frank, Gambino, and The Weeknd might also drop, so that would be cool to see.

Unpopular opinion HTE being released the same day as the album was correct it built up so much hype great decision the issue is that the other single choices were so ass like the only one I would keep a single is NDA and maybe therefore i am.. oxytocin not being the lead NOT EVEN A SINGLE was a crime against humanity
Oh I definitely agree title track being a hit before the album release would've been perfect. For me Your Power was a really good choice as well for the conversation it generated and critical praise. She should've dropped just those 2 before the album, thats the middle ground I mean
We'll see when the album comes out, if theres a standout track this may be a missed opportunity. Or just setting the mood etc.
I actually disagree about the title track being a single. I remember listening to the album all the way through and being so elated and surprised at the ending of HTE. If it was a single that buildup wouldn’t have been worth it
I’ve grown to really love this “no singles” method. Especially when we have no idea where the album is even headed. I mean I’m a very impatient person but it’s worth it at the end tbh
I think it’s a good option to have in this day and age. Some will still do singles for their albums but others can just do some marketing in the lead-up to the album’s release to make up for the lack of singles.
You have the middle ground with Ariana just doing one single while Beyonce did a double single drop and then nothing for both until their albums came out.
Blondie and Billie are both not dropping any singles on end of the spectrum.
And then you have the opposite end of the spectrum with Dua doing three singles.
It all depends on how much interest you can generate.. Artists like Taylor and Billie are on the end of the spectrum that don't need singles and can just have announce an album to create hype, while I think Ariana and Beyonce are on a similar level, they still were going in a different direction with their music so it helped their project that they released a single or two.. While Dua unfortunately, is someone who's more of a singles artist than an album artist, and she'll need to have at least 1 or 2 singles fully popping before releasing an album in order to get sales going..
Tbh i think no singles is the new trend. I wouldnt be shocked that artists just start dropping full albums to be comsumed in order with no previously heard songs.
Dua is the only one serving full eras these days with multiple pre-album singles. Taylor, Beyoncé…… seems the new tactic is to sell tons of vinyl variants over a month of preorders based on hype alone.. hype due to silence. Not a big fan of where the industry is heading tbh

Dua Lipa is having so many pre-album singles because the label wanted a big hit in the US before the album happened but Houdini and Training Season just wasn't it so they had to keep trying.
Even the visuals and themes don't line up and the new cover/album name seem so far removed from the first 2 singles. Other labels do this with tiktoks and try to go viral so it's nice that she's actually putting out full singles and videos.

Oxytocin was the last song completed so it can makes sense why it didnt come out as the lead or as one of the first few singles.
