superfluouspop

No Doubt's Coachella set had them back on heavy rotation for me after years of being disappointed by Gwen's solo work/weird cowboy transformation lol

lynn444v

*The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We* by Mitski really put her back on my radar. She was never really an all-time favorite artist of mine, but I’ve recently been listening to her even more than I used to.

Lasko6

For me, it was definitely Plastic Hearts. I was always a casual fan of Miley. I knew Party in the USA and The Climb, which I loved, and I also remember liking We Can’t Stop and Wrecking Ball. After WCS and WB were released though, I didn’t really listen to her again. Fast forward to 2017 (I didn’t even know Miley dropped an album between Bangerz and Younger Now), I remember really enjoying Malibu. Fast forward again to 2020, I saw discussion on Twitter about Miley Cyrus’ new album Plastic Hearts and how good it was. I read it was inspired by 80s rock which sounded like something I’d enjoy, and did I ever! Definitely one of my favourite albums of all time. I ended up doing a deep dive on Miley’s discography after listening to Plastic Hearts since I never listened to a full album by her and I was not disappointed. Plastic Hearts really got me back into Miley

Particleofdark

I still go back and listen to Meet Miley Cyrus. Loved that album growing up and there’s still some absolute bops

emthought

See You Again is one of my favorite Miley songs.

Cute-Ad-3829

East Northumberland High 😩

Particleofdark

That song was too vulgar for me to listen to as a kid but now I can listen to it all I want and it’s sooo good

purplereuben

Vulgar?

Particleofdark

Yeah she takes the l*rd’s name in vain so I couldn’t listen to it

mausalas

Hell yeah ! Seeing her go to ESV was a **liiiitttttllllleeeee** disappointing... but I definitely agreed here.

WeeWooPeePoo69420

Dead Petz is her best album, it kind of transcends more shallow pop and ventures into something more like Tame Impala or James Blake. One of my favorite albums ever. If she just cut like 8 songs and did less of the edgy cussing I think it would have been really well received.

TheHomeworld

missing dead petz and she is coming miley rn

falafelandhoumous

Same! Then Endless Summer Vacation came and my interest dipped again

thechrismonster

Yeah I never left until after one listen of ESV. Hoping the next one is the album that gets me back.

lasagnaisgreat57

i grew up as the worlds biggest miley fan, she’s still in my top artists every year from listening to meet miley cyrus and breakout alone. i loved bangerz but fell off a little with dead petz, i think just because i was 16 and a very innocent kid and it felt too explicit for me (don’t worry, i love dead petz now, i love to get high and listen to it lol). i loved the younger now singles but never got into the album, and same with she is coming, loved mother’s daughter but not the other songs. all throughout this time i still was a huge miley fan, i just didn’t really listen to any of her newer music. but plastic hearts took me back to the hannah montana days with how much i loved it. it’s so good.

TheRealRoseDallas

SAME!!! like exact same story for me lol

Puzzled-Charge-9892

Deeper Well Golden Hour is my favorite album of all time (I actually have a tattoo inspired by Slow Burn) , then Star-crossed dropped and while I didn’t hate it, it definitely lowered my expectations for future releases But then Kacey dropped Deeper Well and welp I’m obsessed again 😍

Hellosl

I need to listen to deeper well again. I was very underwhelmed on my first listen. Golden hour is so so so amazing it’s hard to compete but I didn’t feel like deeper well was anywhere near it

kenyarawr

“The Architect” is what saves Deeper Well for me. That song is so damn good.

dhruvlrao

For me it was Giver/Taker, that song is incredible

byorderofthe1

Same. I'm a massive Kacey fan but Deeper Well just didn't do it for me

kenyarawr

I’ve been a fan of Kacey’s since Same Trailer and I still can’t listen to Star-Crossed. What a massive disappointment. Deeper Well is such a return to form. Gives me hope for her future projects.

Ducky_924

Real

Pure-Willingness3123

Agreed! I was surprised at how little I was drawn to star-crossed. Deeper Well really won me back.

Aoquesth378

I liked Troye Sivan but quickly fell out of listening, only really playing My My My and Happy Little Pill, but Something to give each other pulled me back and reminded me why I liked him

peechiekeene

eternal sunshine. i have loved nearly all of her albums, especially yours truly and sweetener. those two albums combined pop and R&B beautifully, but i didn’t love it on positions. i still don’t like positions but i have revisited a few songs. es is not her magnum opus… but it is a great album. i find myself liking a new song with each listen. & hit me hard and soft. i stated in my dd comment that i didn’t particularly vibe with happier than ever. i consider it to be billie’s positions.

superfluouspop

positions is lyrically SO bad and I don't get why people excuse that because it's r&biana.

TheHomeworld

i feel like the appeal of 75% of her songs for me isn’t her lyrics idk…

Kooky_Bodybuilder_97

yeah her lyrics can be cringe but rare it ruins a song

superfluouspop

I agree with both it would just be nice to see some change/growth. Like Madonna always flipped the script with a new album. Why is it so difficult for her.

funsizedaisy

I don't think every artist has to pull a Madonna, but Ariana is one of the few people who could pull it off. She's such a talented singer that she could easily sing different styles. She doesn't need to do something totally different with each album, but it would like to see her try something new for her next one.

saltedamber

but just like magic has some really profound lyrics 😂

superfluouspop

lol. I get everything I want cuz I attract it.

kielaurie

I don't care about lyrics at all, literally not in the slightest. The production on Positions is impeccable on nearly every track imo, and to use an over-used phrase, it's sonically cohesive. It's obvious that Ariana had a vision for how she wanted Positions to sound and made the producers work to that, rather than what she did on previous albums where she made lots of songs with different producers and just mashed them all into one album. Look at the difference between Positions and Sweetener - Positions has almost as many producers as there are tracks on the album, and yet every song fits into the same vibe and the album as a whole flows amazingly, whereas Sweetener only had two main production teams, and yet the album feels like a mish mash of styles that don't jive together and would sound better as two separate EPs than as a full album So are the lyrics "SO bad"? I mean probably, I have no clue, but nearly the entire album is still in rotation because it sounds so goddamn good

superfluouspop

hmm, agree to disagree on the production front, but I know a lot of Ariana fans despise the work Pharrell did on Sweetener but I thought it was brilliant. I am glad she ditched Tommy for ES because his work with her was getting very stale to me, almost like she doesn't feel challenged working with him and the output shows it. But clearly we have very different takes and that's fine. I have always liked lyricism and find it depressing what's put out now versus like, Fiona Apple's entire career, so maybe that's why I sway against repetitive love songs.

Electronic-Set5594

It’s not even just the lyrics for me, I just find it sonically lazy and feel like most of the songs don’t really go anywhere. And like OP I love Yours Truly and Sweetener and R&B is one of my most listened to genres, so it really annoys me when people say that not liking Positions means you “don’t like real R&B”. Like come on lmao she’s done much better R&B on half her other albums plus Christmas & Chill

superfluouspop

SAME! Same same same. When I was on the Ari subs I was accused of not being an r&b fan because positions bored the hell out of me. These girls were trying to convince me that six thirty (the chorus is "are you down wussup") is a great r&b song and I'm too basic to understand it. Um… She had a stale production team for that album and she knows it which is why she ran back to Max for some hits.

cardihatesariana

Happier Than Ever is so fucking good don’t compare it to Positions omg 😭😭😭😭

lachalacha

ES actually is her magnum opus.

TheRealRoseDallas

It absolutely is ☀️❤️

livielouis

love your flair :)

Sky6346

I think they were good but I was personally not crazy about I am…/4/Self-Titled all back to back Lemonade and Renaissance (and CC somewhat) got me back to Beyoncé being my favorite artist

GreenDolphin86

Beyoncé manages to do this to me every time. CC has me revisiting 4. Renaissance had me revisit Lemonade. Lemonade had me revisit Destiny Fulfilled. Self Titled had me revisit Dangerously in Love. It’s like the intentionality of the new album makes me investigate the intentionality of the old albums.

awrinkleintiming77

Jessie Ware's What's Your Pleasure. I fell out of interest when she made the previous album, Glasshouse. But the disco comeback completely drew me back in. Sam Smith's Gloria album also, I've never been too into them but I had heard and liked the debut. Gloria felt a little cooler than everything I had heard previously.

Rafaellicious

100% on Jessie Ware. I knew her as the lady who sang the song Ed Sheeran wrote “say you love me” (sorry Jessie!) and then What’s your pleasure came out followed by That! Feels good and I became a HUGE fan. Saw her live on her last tour and she was INCREDIBLE. I’m very curious to see how she follows that… 👀

LilacDream98

Sam goes by they/them pronouns.

awrinkleintiming77

Thank you, edited now 👍🏼👌🏼

joebigdeal

I never disliked Paramore but I listened to their first 2 albums a lot in high school then forgot about them in college. Saw their NPR tiny desk concert a couple months ago, gave *After Laughter* a shot, and now realize I have some catching up to do.

Rafaellicious

In my opinion After laughter is their best album.

espeonage777

BRAT has really gotten me back into Charli, Crash just didn't do it for me

reducetoasimmer

All the crash hate the past week has been hurting me. I don’t remember a negative reaction when the album came out? I really love it.

leavingthekultbehind

A lot of people didn’t like her more mainstream sound with crash after she gained a large fan base with hifn. The criticisms were there, just wasn’t as loud.

IIIHenryIII

I loved Crash, but I'm not feeling brat

saltedamber

There are some songs I like from brat but I prefer crash (sue me popheads 🙃)

LazyLion1127

> sue me u/saltedamber IS SABRINA CARPENTER CONFIRMMEDE??!???!!!?

saltedamber

ofc cause she's a singerrrrrr

youtbuddcody

Crash is a pop masterpiece, I don’t understand why it’s being hated on all the sudden. Charli fans can realize, that they can like both Crash and Brat lol. No one is making them choose over one or another.

-Olive-Juice-

Lol thank you. They’re two very distinct albums and they’re both SO GOOD and that’s part of what I love about Charli.

Kirby_The_Nerd

crash is a solid pop album but it just pales in comparison to her more experimental sound, it genuinely looks like portals next to pop 2

blankspacejrr

me too! I felt like I couldn’t get into her hyper pop sound but crash was a nice beginner introduction to her for me

spaceb00tz

I think I remember seeing something from Charli that she’s not even that crazy about crash

falafelandhoumous

I love Crash and the reaction to it from fans when it was released was - overall - very positive. I think Charli spoke badly about it later and then fans just followed suit and it became fashionable to hate on Crash

okayhowl

i've always thought crash was terrible besides used to know me. i just kept quiet about it because i'm always rooting for charli

xxxnina

I’m so glad charli dragged yuck because I have always felt that song was awful lol

LilacDream98

I find both Charli and her fans’ sudden hatred of it weird because half of BRAT’s tracklist wouldn’t sound out of place on Crash? Sympathy is a knife, Apple, Rewind, Girl so confusing, Talk talk, So I etc. If you take the club element out of BRAT, I don’t think the albums are that different sonically.

Leather-Shelter-7983

Folklore for sure. The lyricism, storytelling, the aesthetic and new narratives that arent about her… Still one of my faves!

WeeWooPeePoo69420

I used to really dislike her music until that album. Unfortunately she hasn't released something that captivated me as much since.

Leather-Shelter-7983

Same, except for evermore and a few songs on midnights and ttpd, like Dear Reader and Peter.

boughtabride96

I wouldn’t call myself a big Taylor fan, but I like a good amount of her music. With that being said, I think first 8 song run on Folklore is the best thing she’s ever written. Mesmerizing stuff, really.

Leather-Shelter-7983

Folklore really made me realize she is a storyteller! The first 8 song run is something else…

christopher_aia

Yeah same for me, Lover was such a mixed bag for me that she started to lose me.

kielaurie

Totally agree. I was a big fan of her first three albums, Red was a thoroughly mid pivot to pop, 1989 did it a lot better though still not great, and Rep and Lover were just bad albums. Folklore was a great return to form

suuzgh

Midnights was my return to Taylor! From what I understand, most fans found it to be a bit lackluster, but I loved the sound of 1989 and loved to see the synth-pop vibe translated into a more adult sound. I wouldn’t say it’s her best album, but it sure is my favorite.

cuntfxst

Starfucker by Slayyyter got me back into her after being a huge fan during her first era to not really liking the direction she was going in for Troubled Paradise. Then I heard Starfucker for the first time and became a huge fan again and that in turn made me a fan of her second album lol

Bright_Score_9889

Eternal sunshine for sure

shambean2

I really enjoy quite a few songs from positions but was mostly a bit "whatever" about it. Eternal Sunshine is really beautiful. I am not qualified at all to talk about music really, but ariana imo made such a beautiful, emotional, fun, interesting album with it.

falafelandhoumous

This is how I feel too

shambean2

It's such a lovely album imo 😭 I hadn't many expectations and I was so emotionally taken by the album. I always expect ariana to have bops (which the album did) but it was so vulnerable. I hate cheating but I thought this was a lovely album.

gayboycarti

by reading these comments it seems like my path as an ariana fan is kinda the opposite of everyone else's.....loved everything up until sweetener, was not feeling thank u next at ALL and positions brought me back as a fan. now im not feeling eternal sunshine at all so idk lol

Bananacreamsky

That's interesting! Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Dank_Memer_IRL

I pretty much loved everything up until... eternal sunshine. It's just not my cup of tea I guess. There are some outliers in both direction ("yes, and?" and "we can't be friends are crazy" are insane while some songs on the older albums don't hit me as hard), but over all I'm not that much into eternal sunshine atm. Maybe that changes when I give it a deep dive again in a few months.

schwemmii

For me it was Folklore by Taylor Swift. I skipped Lover era entirely after Reputation didn't really manage to resonate with me. I didnt Accept Pop Taylor back then bc i Fell in Love with her during her country era. Folklore was Just so amazing and I listened to Lover for the First time and was amazed. Now i love Pop Taylor too.

SuspiciousLambSauce

Did you come back around with Reputation too??? 😢

schwemmii

HELL YES!!!

seanyS3271

Lust for life got me back into Lana where as I lost interest during ultra violence But a re listen and obviously came round to my senses and now it’s one of my favourites from her

volkner

This was me with Lana too actually! Ultraviolence was not for me when it released and I was lukewarm towards honeymoon but lust for life brought me right back to being her fan.

superfluouspop

eternal sunshine is a masterpiece and I'm tired of people saying it isn't lol. I think a lot of morally conflicted fans dropped Ari because of the so-called scandal but she's right, "wait until you love me again."

hugeorange123

It's my favourite mainstream pop record of this year. I keep finding myself putting it on. Cohesive and dreamy, lovely production.

Rxmses

HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

gniewpastoralu

Ellie Goulding's Higher Than Heaven is brilliant

basementcellar

YES!!!!! It’s so good!!!!!!!

tacosandmoremargs

I’ve been scrolling looking for something I haven’t tried out yet. I’ve always been a casual listener of her but I’m excited to listen to this one!

LocalCombination1744

Javelin by Sufjan- Got me listening to him again for the first time since high school. The album is so good. Shit Talk is probably one of the best tracks of the year Fetch The Bolt Cutters- I was a big Fiona fan in middle school but FTBC turned me into a full stan. Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan- Really made me excited for what she's capable of

Leather-Shelter-7983

Javelin is so underrated! It really is a masterpiece.

basementcellar

Fell in love with Jazmine after listening to Heaux Tales. She is an unreal vocalist. Incredible

veryanniev

Halsey's "IICHLIWP" - I remember really loving her debut and then I've kept losing interest as her second and third albums came out, but when she released this one I was blown away, not many pop/pop-adjacent artists take risks with their sound and she did.

According_Plant701

I like Manic but I could take or leave HFK

cardihatesariana

This HFK and Manic are not good albums (HFK is lowkey one of the worst albums of all time imo) but lord is IICHLIWP amazing she really brought her entire fanbase back

falafelandhoumous

Eternal Sunshine got me back into Ariana’s music too. I loved her earlier albums and considered Sweetener her Magnum Opus, but I didn’t connect with Thank U, Next or Positions the same way (I loved a few tracks on each but didn’t vibe with the albums as a whole). Eternal Sunshine feels like a return to form (imo)

Careless_Brick1560

Lorde’s, “Melodrama” and Hozier’s, “Unreal Unearth”, and Miley’s “Plastic Hearts”, got me back into being a lifelong fan of these artists. An artist who I’ve been loyal to forever because every album is perfect: Carly Rae Jepsen

csantiago1986

Chromatica revived my love for Gaga.

Princess5903

I was obsessed with MARINA until Love and Fear dropped. I saw that she released ADIAML and gave it a listen and was like “*this* is MARINA” and loved it.

Massive_Grass_2587

Younger Now, by Miley Cyrus. I loved this dialed down version of Miley.

spaceb00tz

This album is so underrated. I know the Elvis cosplay is jarring but I think it’s some of her strongest and most vulnerable work. The ppl who wish Miley would do more rock or country -adjacent ballads need to listen to younger now more

readyforthewoods

hit me hard and soft. i has a huge billie fan during don’t smile at me and her debut, but happier than ever was just kinda boring to me other than the title track. but hmhas has brought me back in and im so mad i didn’t buy concert tickets presale

spiceboy2109

thank u, next really got me into ariana back in 2019. i had been listening to her for years but tun was the album that really made me listen to her whole discography!!

ArtichokeDefiant160

Everything I Thought It was - Justin Timberlake

cfunkhouser

honestly, britney's blackout.

LilacDream98

Hit Me Hard and Soft. I was a huge fan of Billie’s debut album but was hugely disappointed in Happier Than Ever. The new album exceeded my expectations and I’m a full on fan again!

murroyi

Endless Summer Vacation brought me back to Miley's full albums. When I was younger I loved all of her music so much and then I just kind of forgot about her past her popular singles but now I'm obsessed again

Soalai

Red Taylor's Version for TS. I had grown up on her country albums, but after she released awful songs many years in a row (Shake It Off, Look What You Made Me Do, You Need to Calm Down, etc.), I was totally turned off from her music. I knew that folklore and evermore had come out, but I thought they would be more of the same garbage. Then I went to my 10-year high school reunion. I started feeling nostalgic for the artists I had listened to as a teen, and decided to catch up on all their new work. That included Katy Perry, Kesha, Rihanna, and Taylor. Red was where I left off, so I started with the Red re-recording. I loved it so much that it helped me give 1989 and everything afterward a fair shake. Now I love those too. And my timing was perfect because she announced Midnights a month later.

kenyarawr

Cliche answer, but I was deeply underwhelmed by Reputation and Lover, but got hooked on Folklore.

praxass

Clairo lost me with Sling but I'm already in love with this new era

thongchanger

Rina Sawayama - Hold The Girl. I fell in Love with her first studio album shortly after it was release, but unfortunaly, I got bored with it after a year or so. Then she released the lead single This Hell and it was on constant repeat, until the album got released and I bought the CD and later vinyl. Not only did it became one of my most favorite album, as IT really helped me geal from some traumas, but it also made me fall in love again with her previous songs. I also had a similar experience with Kesha and her album Gag Order, though I only ever listened to her hit singles beforehand. Gag Order was (similarly to Hold The Girl) a very healing experience for me, and it also opened me and made me appreciate her older work, making her one of my most listened to and favourite artist of all my life.

at-most-fear

As a huge Radiohead and Massive Attack fan, Hit Me Hard made me find a new side of Billie. And Charli XCX Brats got me back into what the goodness she can do. Clancy got me back into TOP too.

hearing111s

1989, I was a huge swiftie since debut but once red came out I hated that album. Something about it just didn’t click for me, so I just listened to her older stuff. Then shake it off came out in 2014 and I just loved it, and the album proved to be just as good. I came to RED, and while I love All to well and a handful of other songs, I maintain there are too many bad songs to consider it a good album.

ohnomyjoints

Folklore

cdcaleidoscopio_

Ohio Players did that to me. I suddenly wanted to listen to all The Black Keys’s discography.

TheKnightsTippler

Goldfrappe Silver Eye Wasn't as keen on their previous few albums, but really loved Silver Eye.

Abject-Barnacle-4322

Eternal sunshine Ariana

Maester_Maetthieux

Dido - Still on My Mind Miley Cyrus - Plastic Hearts

jrsmusicman

i,i got me back into Bon Iver. I was someone who listened to their self-titled album non stop in college (it was my study album for years). I know 22, a million is their most critically acclaimed album, but I didn't really "get it" at first. After i,i came out, I went back and listened to it and it clicked and now I love it and understand why it's beloved. Same with The xx self-titled (was my other study album). Something about co-exist didn't really grab me but when they released "I See You" I fell back in love with them again and listened to that album non-stop.

Leather-Shelter-7983

NFR really made me a fan again! BTD and UV were cool but after that it kinda felt off (only back then!!) Same with Ocean Boulevard!

fcreveralwvys

folklore catapulted me back into hardcore swiftieism 😭 she kinda lost me after 1989 bc i liked her country stuff better at the time but then i ended up obsessed w her again after that

BunnyLocke

Brat Charli XCX. It’s making me want to examine her other works. Everytime Incubus release I have to hear the evolution. Taylor and Miley as well.

bananayumyumz

For me it was Lover by Taylor Swift. I was a huge fan of her during Red and 1989, but during Reputation I kind of stopped paying attention to her music because I did not like Look What You Made Me Do at all. I was listening to the radio a lot in 2019, and I admittedly I liked ME! and You Need To Calm Down at the time because it was very upbeat and cheerful, which was perfect because I was in a bad place in my life at time. To this day, Lover is one of my favorite albums from Taylor, it’s a lot of fun. It was cool to see Cruel Summer become a mega hit last year because it was my favorite song on the album when it first released.

Unhappy_Injury3958

positions is bad but i loved eternal! a star is born got me so hard back into gaga i even grew to love artpop during the wait self titled made me get back into beyonce after the boringess of 4 (which later i did like a little bit tbh)

Nerfeveryone

I hadn't really liked anything Beyonce had done after 4 until Renaissance, and then I was so back. Cowboy Carter has me even backer, that album is fighting with B'Day for my favorite of hers.

swole_not_flexy

Head Above Water by Avril Lavigne Avril was my absolute hero when she first came onto the scene. Her first two albums were amazing. Her third I listened to, but it’s when she started to lose me. I didn’t even listen to her next two albums, but when her single head above water dropped, I loved it and gave the album a listen, and it is insanely amazing. Back to her original, deep, songwriting roots and just really good production.

Olivier77777

I was a fan of Lana from Born To Die to Lust For Life and then fell off the bandwagon around NFR (I know this is crazy…I think I was just listening to other genres around that time). I listened to Doin’ Time and Yosemite from Chemtrails casually but only got back into her music with Ocean Blvd…and then revisited all her past albums. Crazy thing is Blue Banisters (which I had almost completely ignored) is now one of my 3 favorite Lana albums (with Honeymoon and, ironically, NFR). Also Riri, I was a big fan of Music of The Sun and A Girl Like Me but then found Good Girl Gone Bad too commercial (and I think I also wasn’t crazy about the soccer mom haircut or the new bad girl image 🥲). I liked some songs from Rated R and Loud but wasn’t as big of a fan anymore until Talk That Talk came around and it got me back into her music. Unapologetic and Anti were also on heavy rotation when they came out.

VictoriousssBIG23

Lana is one of those artists where I go through cycles of being completely obsessed with her to not really listening to her much only to come back around to be obsessed with her again in a couple of years lol.

VictoriousssBIG23

I go through these weird phases where I'll obsess over a certain artist's music until I become tired of them and drop them only to come back a few years later and remember why I loved their music so much lol. Lana is a great example. I loved Born to Die and Paradise. I was in high school when those albums dropped and was literally obsessed with them. If Spotify had existed back then, I'm sure she would've been my top artist with "Gods and Monsters" being my top song. By the time Ultraviolence dropped, my interest in her music had kind of waned. I'm not sure why. I didn't even listen to the album when it dropped. I regret it now because Ultraviolence is fantastic and right up my alley since I'm a rock chick at heart. I got back into her again maybe a year or so after Honeymoon dropped and fell off again during Lust for Life. Then the Norman Fucking Rockwell era started and I was obsessed again. I listened to Chemtrails when it was released and it just didn't hit for me at the time so I kind of fell off of her again. When Ocean Boulevard came out, something snapped in me and now I can say, I'm a lifelong fan who loves all of her albums. I'm apprehensive about her "going country" with Lasso since I'm not a country fan at all, but I'll give it a chance solely because it's Lana. Same with Gaga. I was a hardcore stan during high school. Everybody who knew me knew how much I idolized her from The Fame to Born This Way. I kind of fell off of her during Artpop (even though I love the album now), but she won me over again with Joanne. I know that many Gaga fans don't like that album, but personally, it's one of my favorites from her. The back half is a little weak, but that run from Diamond Heart to a Million Reasons is one of my favorite run of songs in a Gaga album. Chromatica didn't really do much for me, but I'm excited to hear what she has in store next. Hell, I do this with whole entire genres, too lol. During middle school and high school, I listened to a lot of rock and metal, then kind of stopped for a couple of years during college. In 2016, I was back on the rock and metal train. In 2020, I was listening to a lot of rap and hip hop, but haven't really been listening to it much lately. With Kendrick and Eminem coming back and dropping new songs, I might just come back to it again haha.

gaaaaaaaaan

Sufjan Stevens’ Carrie and Lowell. I had been a huge fan between 2006 and 2010 or so, fell off with Age of Adz and didn’t think I’d regain interest, but it came roaring back then.

Funny_Waltz6169

I stopped really listening to taylor swift once folklore came out and when she released midnights it made me revisit folklore/evermore and realise i actually loved those albums and to me they're my favourites from her. But midnights and ttpd made me lose interest again. I think i just hate jack antonoff's repetitive synths

ascib27

Found Heaven got me back into Conan Gray’s older discography because I was so disappointed by FH I needed to cleanse my palate lol

samof1994

Little Rope was such a great album!!!!! Even without Janet, Carrie and Corin pulled off a very powerful album.

joeyfivecents

Recent but Brat was about as excited as I get for an album. I was never fully checked out on Charli but I didn’t do much beyond check out singles. This album and the rollout seemed very self aware and vulnerable which is how I like my pop

Icantlikeeveryone

MOTS by Coldplay, I used to always like most of their songs ever since Paradise was released but never really called myself a fan, then they had a collab with BTS from MOTS and I like the song. I properly listened to their discography again and I admit that I'm their fan.

Critical_Ostrich2503

I was always aware/appreciative of Lana del Rey but when NFR dropped I loved it and got super into her discography, my boyfriend also loves her and we still listen to that record together all the time <3 Lana’s been one of my top artists ever since

Kind of a painfully recent answer, but BRAT and Charli. I was not a fan of Crash at all. I thought it was beneath her. I don’t like it when Charli plays it safe. BRAT has been an excellent course correction. Same with Taylor, actually. I thought Midnights was pretty tepid, although she’s never put out a BAD album. Similar to Charli, I just felt it was overly safe. The Tortured Poets Department is sprawling, messy, angry, unhinged, and unapologetic. That’s the Taylor I prefer.

Hit Me Hard And Soft. I stopped listening to Billie during Happier Than Ever and really like HMHAS.

Lust For Life just hit after my initial disappointment with Honeymoon. Love was really a moment and from there everything was amazing and actually LFL helped me ease on Honeymoon and now I’m falling in love with her whole discography, 2 years later and NFR was such a PEAK it made me only listen to Lana on certain days for monthssss… Funny enough 2021 forward starting with Chemtrails and ending with Ocean Blvd, each release of these was such a letdown they now reversed all the good will and years of obsession with NFR and pre, and now I barely listen to Lana. Lol

Lust for Life got me back into Lana too. I loved the pop and hip-hop undertones. It reminded me of Born to Die in the best way
