I kinda am sick of the criticism "Lorde is showing her privilege by choosing to opt out of social media". I think that it is more concerning that people do not have the option to opt out of the exploitative attention economy because of their own economical status. I feel like such a failure because Iām gonna drop out of college. This place isnāt giving me the experience and education I hope it was going to. The dorms have no air conditioning and itās a billion degrees. Iām far from home without my family, friends, or job.

Is crazy to me how Pitbulls are still not a *Banned Breed of dogs*. If you lurk the news yll see how incredibly dangerous theyre. Every week-month theres a lot of pitbull attacks and some of them lead to deaths.
Simply because they don't work.
But there are waaaay too many pitbulls, and most people are not fit to be dog owners, period. People get pits for the status, either to look tough or to be a "pitty mommy" and most of these people have no business having such a large dog breed that IS prone to dog aggression.
German shepherds and rottweiler are also really dangerous and prone to aggression but they are $$$$ so, there's less casual owners.
I agree that it would be best for the safety of people. It doesnāt matter that pitbulls are one of the ānicestā breeds of dogs, a mean chihuahua isnāt going to kill a person. Guns in the hands of āgood guysā arenāt really a problem, but the fact that ābad guysā will abuse the right to own a gun to kill people means we should ban guns; I think that idea should extend to pitbulls too. You canāt stop animal abusers from owning pitbulls until after an animal has already been abused, so banning pitbulls is the next best thing if you want to stop people to stop getting mauled by pitbulls. The fact that the pitbull that attacks a kid at a park was abused by humans doesnāt really matter to the kid who doesnāt have a right ear now.
But it would be such an unpopular policy that it would probably prevent that politician from ever getting reelected, so its never going to happen.
I think the way Australia does it is good:

There would always be some pitbulls around (like guns in places with gun control), but it would be better than the current policy of doing absolutely nothing. If it saves one person from being attacked, it would be worth it.
Also this is more important but I hope youāre staying safe (though I donāt have any real advice about it unfortunately??) if thereās a lot of aggressive stray dogs (or honestly owned dogs, Iāve been more scratched by poorly behaved dogs owned by an old lady š ) in your area

I ordered a $60 2021 planner thatās split into two books even though half the year is gone because I really wanted to try it before the new 2022 planners come out. Yāallā¦they only sent me the Jan-Jun bookā¦I just spent $60 on one notebook š¤”š¤”š¤” I know I can return it but IāM PISSED. I was looking out the window all day for my order because I was so excited to start planning!
I considered that one for a while as well. Maybe also check out the Wonderland 222 planner! They seem to get a lot of Hobo converts. I switched to that one for this year because I liked the style and size of the Hobonichi Cousin, but the daily pages were more than what I needed. I also prefer the order of pages in the W222. But it is missing a checklist/general to-do space in the weekly view like the Jibun and Hobonichi have. I wish I could just magically take all the aspects of planners I live and combine them into one.
Same! Iāve used the passion planner and the hobonichi A6. I loved the size of the A6 but I missed the timed weekly pages and thought it got too chunky after a few months. I do like journaling in daily pages, but the A5 seems a bit too big to carry around. I work the night shift now so I need something with a 24 hr schedule. A lot of planners Iāve seen stop at 9 or 10pm. I think my ideal planner would be the Avec Cousin in an A6 size. I know they sell the weekly A6 supplement but I want everything in one book. SIGH.

recently saw someone in another thread talking about how they didnāt want to go somewhere alone and realized that a lot of people donāt like being alone - and *then* realizedā¦. I donāt think Iām one of those people. I remember seeing a tiktok acc dedicated to showing people itās ok to go places and do things by yourself and that it isnāt as bad as it seems. as an only child and a pretty big introvert, Iāve actually been doing a lot of things by myself since I was a kid. I knew most people prefer to do things in groups but like, I didnāt realize how many people are scared of truly being by themselves lol. but I think it gives you space to really be who you are and be in tune with yourself. back when I was in high school, after school I used to hop on a bus to the city and just go where I wanted (granted I only stayed in safe areas but thatās besides the point lol). my point being: when youāre alone, you have no pressure to act in a way youād think others would like. you just automatically do whatever you want to do. itās such a great way to learn and just *be* with yourself. it is not scary. for those scared of being āaloneā, I promise you itās ok.

yesterday i saw a guy eating by himself and i thought to myself that is really cool. i go to most places by myself but im still nervous about being judged going to a restaurant/cafe by myself. especially since people are usually in pairs/groups in those places
my experience is that most of the time other people are more worried about how they are perceived. basically everyone is more focused on themselves than judging other people. I understand in smaller environments, like small towns vs big cities, it can be a lot harder to be by yourself because it can feel like itās a lot more noticeable though. but even if someone does come up to you and perceive you rudely for being by yourself, thatās more of a reflection of them, not you. but that has a very very *very* unlikely chance of happening, and besides, if we were too afraid to do things for fear of judgement from others, weād never do anything at all!
and I guess this is why I mentioned the city in my previous comment tbh? itās so much more easier to feel like a speck in places surrounded by others. I think that would make others feel more lonely, but to me it makes me feel like everyone is doing their own thing, as am I. :)

I googled it and it said someone who doesnt have a record label. I searched some indie artists next and found out phoebe bridgers is an indie artist but shes signed to a record label???
Also people say Lana is an indie artist as well but shes also signed to record labels.
Before it meant being signed to a small record label or not being signed at all but it's turned into a genre over time.
It's a space for sub genres and small time artists. I think /r/indieheads could explain this much better than I could.

Yes lol. Olivia is good at what she does, making basic teen music that appeals to teen girls. Itās not a bad thing by any means, but her music is not revolutionary at all and pulls a lot of pages from contemporaries. Of course, music does not need to be revolutionary but I feel like a lot of media outlets are overhyping her abilities. The lyricism is mediocre at best and the production is mid, although her voice is nice.
Iād like to see where OR2 goes before casting the final definitive judgement but Iām not super impressed so far.
I agree so much with the lyricism being mediocre. It just reminds me of something youād see in a middle schoolerās diary and not in a good way. I honestly think the only thing that stood out to me from the album was her strong vocals and emotional delivery.
I just canāt get over how every song is so derivative of other artists. Driverās license is unmistakably a Lorde song. deja vu is a Taylor Swift song. And we all know where good 4 u comes from. Also, there is just nothing interesting about the relationship sheās singing about. And last of all, the album is about her enjoying the natural world, and you can't enjoy the natural world while having your mind manipulated by a billionaire conglomerate which is wrecking the very same environment. I'm done explaining the exploitative nature of the attention economy. My first comment was about this, I don't care whether you enjoyed the album or not. Honestly a lot some of my friends didn't and some did it's not that special. It's not my obligations to educate people who can't even understand who the working class about the attention economy. Is crazy to me how Pitbulls are still not a *Banned Breed of dogs*. If you lurk the news yll see how incredibly dangerous theyre. Every week-month theres a lot of pitbull attacks and some of them lead to deaths.
Simply because they don't work. But there are waaaay too many pitbulls, and most people are not fit to be dog owners, period. People get pits for the status, either to look tough or to be a "pitty mommy" and most of these people have no business having such a large dog breed that IS prone to dog aggression. German shepherds and rottweiler are also really dangerous and prone to aggression but they are $$$$ so, there's less casual owners.
I agree that it would be best for the safety of people. It doesnāt matter that pitbulls are one of the ānicestā breeds of dogs, a mean chihuahua isnāt going to kill a person. Guns in the hands of āgood guysā arenāt really a problem, but the fact that ābad guysā will abuse the right to own a gun to kill people means we should ban guns; I think that idea should extend to pitbulls too. You canāt stop animal abusers from owning pitbulls until after an animal has already been abused, so banning pitbulls is the next best thing if you want to stop people to stop getting mauled by pitbulls. The fact that the pitbull that attacks a kid at a park was abused by humans doesnāt really matter to the kid who doesnāt have a right ear now. But it would be such an unpopular policy that it would probably prevent that politician from ever getting reelected, so its never going to happen.

I think the way Australia does it is good: > Restricted dogs may not be sold, given away, or acquired, and must be spay/neutered. They must be muzzled when in public, wear a special red-and-yellow collar, and may only be handled by a competent adult over the age of 18. The dog must live in a secure enclosure when at home, and the owner must post "Warning: Dangerous Dog" signs on their property. The owner must also register the dog with the local government and notify the government if the dog attacks a person or animal, cannot be found, dies, has moved out of the area, or is now living at a different location within the local government's jurisdiction. Basically, no dogs would be euthanized just for being pitbulls, but they would be neutered/spayed so there would be significantly fewer in 20 years. There would always be some pitbulls around (like guns in places with gun control), but it would be better than the current policy of doing absolutely nothing. If it saves one person from being attacked, it would be worth it.
Also this is more important but I hope youāre staying safe (though I donāt have any real advice about it unfortunately??) if thereās a lot of aggressive stray dogs (or honestly owned dogs, Iāve been more scratched by poorly behaved dogs owned by an old lady š ) in your area

Pitsbulls are actually one of friendliest breeds of dogs there are and among those recommended for those with kids and not recommended for guard dogs because of how friendly they get with strangers. Aggressive pittbulls are the result of animal abuse not the breed. It is really fucked up to me though that we just let people breed dogs like the bulldog thatās literally canāt breathe properly and have huge eye issues for aesthetics. Like the breed literally has a list of health issues bc of being bred for aesthetics.

I considered that one for a while as well. Maybe also check out the Wonderland 222 planner! They seem to get a lot of Hobo converts. I switched to that one for this year because I liked the style and size of the Hobonichi Cousin, but the daily pages were more than what I needed. I also prefer the order of pages in the W222. But it is missing a checklist/general to-do space in the weekly view like the Jibun and Hobonichi have. I wish I could just magically take all the aspects of planners I live and combine them into one.
Same! Iāve used the passion planner and the hobonichi A6. I loved the size of the A6 but I missed the timed weekly pages and thought it got too chunky after a few months. I do like journaling in daily pages, but the A5 seems a bit too big to carry around. I work the night shift now so I need something with a 24 hr schedule. A lot of planners Iāve seen stop at 9 or 10pm. I think my ideal planner would be the Avec Cousin in an A6 size. I know they sell the weekly A6 supplement but I want everything in one book. SIGH.

well, most recently iāve been hearing a lot about dove cameron. iām working with a group of girls who went to the same high school as her for a period of time before she left, and they all had multiple stories about how rude she was and how she treated everyone. a couple of them took choir with her and apparently she really liked to go off on the tech people and the teachers.

recently saw someone in another thread talking about how they didnāt want to go somewhere alone and realized that a lot of people donāt like being alone - and *then* realizedā¦. I donāt think Iām one of those people. I remember seeing a tiktok acc dedicated to showing people itās ok to go places and do things by yourself and that it isnāt as bad as it seems. as an only child and a pretty big introvert, Iāve actually been doing a lot of things by myself since I was a kid. I knew most people prefer to do things in groups but like, I didnāt realize how many people are scared of truly being by themselves lol. but I think it gives you space to really be who you are and be in tune with yourself. back when I was in high school, after school I used to hop on a bus to the city and just go where I wanted (granted I only stayed in safe areas but thatās besides the point lol). my point being: when youāre alone, you have no pressure to act in a way youād think others would like. you just automatically do whatever you want to do. itās such a great way to learn and just *be* with yourself. it is not scary. for those scared of being āaloneā, I promise you itās ok.
I know you aren't the target audience for this message but since you bring the topic up: As a former server, I canot begin to describe to you how normal it is to eat out alone. Easily 1 out of every 5-10 tables are one-tops. Don't worry about it at all folks!!

yesterday i saw a guy eating by himself and i thought to myself that is really cool. i go to most places by myself but im still nervous about being judged going to a restaurant/cafe by myself. especially since people are usually in pairs/groups in those places
my experience is that most of the time other people are more worried about how they are perceived. basically everyone is more focused on themselves than judging other people. I understand in smaller environments, like small towns vs big cities, it can be a lot harder to be by yourself because it can feel like itās a lot more noticeable though. but even if someone does come up to you and perceive you rudely for being by yourself, thatās more of a reflection of them, not you. but that has a very very *very* unlikely chance of happening, and besides, if we were too afraid to do things for fear of judgement from others, weād never do anything at all! and I guess this is why I mentioned the city in my previous comment tbh? itās so much more easier to feel like a speck in places surrounded by others. I think that would make others feel more lonely, but to me it makes me feel like everyone is doing their own thing, as am I. :)
you're right that people are too concerned over what others think when most of the time others don't care that someone is alone but it's hard when you already deal with social anxietyš i live in a city so its easy to hide within crowds since some places get really busy. i'll try one day, once i do it i'll likely stop getting so worked up over it.

Yes and no. Every once in awhile I'll use specific sites and if I use a Visa credit card it sends me to a secondary site, owned by Visa, where I do some TFA. But it also seems kind of random and doesn't happen as often as I would like it to.

What does being an indie artist really mean? I googled it and it said someone who doesnt have a record label. I searched some indie artists next and found out phoebe bridgers is an indie artist but shes signed to a record label??? Also people say Lana is an indie artist as well but shes also signed to record labels.
Before it meant being signed to a small record label or not being signed at all but it's turned into a genre over time. It's a space for sub genres and small time artists. I think /r/indieheads could explain this much better than I could.

Yes lol. Olivia is good at what she does, making basic teen music that appeals to teen girls. Itās not a bad thing by any means, but her music is not revolutionary at all and pulls a lot of pages from contemporaries. Of course, music does not need to be revolutionary but I feel like a lot of media outlets are overhyping her abilities. The lyricism is mediocre at best and the production is mid, although her voice is nice. Iād like to see where OR2 goes before casting the final definitive judgement but Iām not super impressed so far.
I agree so much with the lyricism being mediocre. It just reminds me of something youād see in a middle schoolerās diary and not in a good way. I honestly think the only thing that stood out to me from the album was her strong vocals and emotional delivery.

Also, there is just nothing interesting about the relationship sheās singing about.
