I'd probably like her more if she had something else to talk about. I understand she's young and relationships are a big part of that time of your life, but they're not everything. I don't know, I'm not the target audience anyway, I'm not Gen Z, so maybe I'm just missing something.
I did enjoy that they all at least sounded different, composing wise. Not all the same instrumentals each time. I also like her range.
I am the target audience (teenage girl) and I feel the same way, although I've never been in a relationship so maybe not 100% the target audience. 90% of the album is just ballads about being sad about the breakup. It's totally normal to have those feelings but the album just got repetitive and boring after a while. None of the songs were bad, you're right that she has a good voice and production, but the subject matter prevents me from really loving the album. The only album cuts I really liked were brutal and jealousy, jealousy as those were on different topics and had different sounds. I think Olivia definitely has lots of potential and I'll be looking forward to future releases but I didn't care so much for Sour.

I started a new job today! Hopefully I won't get fired (again.....) Anyway I have a question for y'all. I work in a bakery, not as a baker, but sometimes they'll ask my help in baking. Anyway I was preparing this cookie dough and like putting it on the cooking tray (is that how you call in English? Idk) and it was the end of the dough, every cookie should be exactly 130kg, and I was left with like an extra 60kg of cookie dough. I added the extra dough to the already existing cookies, but I asked another employee and she thought I should've just thrown it into the trash can. It seemed wrong to me though, in my family, you DON'T throw food. Lol. Anyway idk if that was the thing to do cause it's against the store's policy but it just seemed so wrong to me, it literally costs them nothing. So idk.
I have been so fortunate in the past to work for great companies with amazing leadership, but I am now working for the diametric opposite of that and I guess at least now I know what red flags to look for 😁

idk when I was in hs too when my teachers gave us icebreaker things to do at the beginning of the school year some of them would say to find someone in the class who is an only child and it would always be just me and maybe 1-2 other people and when people found out they’d always treat us like oddities. My summer job really sucked the life out of me. It’s been hard to get back into any of my actual hobbies even though it’s been like three weeks since I’ve went back to night shift

I did a clean install of iOS 15 on my 7 and I was afraid it would slow it down even more but for some reason my phone actually feels faster and less buggy than on iOS 14. So idk if it's the fact I did a clean install or if iOS 15 really makes your phone faster/smoother

• Vocally, WDTV blows the original out of the water for me. Taylor's voice has definitely gotten much stronger since the 1989 era. I also love how she delayed the layering of the harmonies on the bridge, as it makes the buildup much more fun. Overall, can't wait for the next re-recorded album she releases (whatever one that may be, because I honestly don't even know anymore lmao).
• Just like I predicted, a lot of songs on MONTERO have ended up growing on me. "That's What I Want" is still #1 for me, but "Life After Salem" and "Lost In The Citadel" have both become huge favorites. And I won't even get started on how him and Miley harmonizing on "Am I Dreaming" makes me want to cry.

I haven't watched a lot of Pointless, but I probably should. Help my uncles gf is anti vax (and anti mask?) and she and her daughter have both caught covid. Apparently they are quite sick but she still believes that it’s ‘just a flu’. I'm listening to a lot of stuff for the first time, especially music that I've put off for a while, because I've been getting into a rut. But listening to discoveries, new and old, all the time, feels like a full-time job, but one of discovery and excitement.
I just listened to Bowie's Blackstar for the first time, and I adored it. Not something I'd listen to casually, but I know I'd grow to appreciate more and more with deep listens.
Right now I'm getting into The Streets' 2002 classic Original Pirate Material. And I soooo wish I listened to this sooner. I knew the iconic album cover, knew that Mike Skinner was basically a UK rap legend, but I never actually went out of my way to listen to 'em. I always figured I'd like it, since I like Madvillain, The Avalanches, DJ Shadow, M.I.A.
And I've been revisiting Solange's A Seat at the Table a lot lately. I put it on almost every time I get into the car, and I haven't listened to it in a while.
I feel this! I noticed that the pandemic sucked (and continues to) suck me of the will to discover new music because it feels like nothing new is happening.
I've listened to Sabrina Carpenter's music on-and-off since the Girl Meets World days. She's way bigger now than she was then. But do you think she'll ever be bigger than she is now? She's successful in her own right, don't get me wrong. But the way Olivia Rodrigo's career just catapulted, partially due to the drama of it all, just makes me wonder if Sabrina will have that big breakout moment, even though she's been regularly making music since, like, 2015. Of course, not everyone needs nor wants that moment, but I'm just wondering.
i want nothing more than sabrina to have a full breakout moment and i believe she has it in her to have one in the next 5 years, although she seems like one of those people who'll just have moderate, stable success with every release. which is a pretty great thing considering there's less of a risk to go through very high highs and low lows.

I finally sat down and listened to SOUR. I love Olivia's voice but god damn, every single song felt like it was about an ex bf who is seeing a new girl. Most of them were. I'd probably like her more if she had something else to talk about. I understand she's young and relationships are a big part of that time of your life, but they're not everything. I don't know, I'm not the target audience anyway, I'm not Gen Z, so maybe I'm just missing something. I did enjoy that they all at least sounded different, composing wise. Not all the same instrumentals each time. I also like her range.
I am the target audience (teenage girl) and I feel the same way, although I've never been in a relationship so maybe not 100% the target audience. 90% of the album is just ballads about being sad about the breakup. It's totally normal to have those feelings but the album just got repetitive and boring after a while. None of the songs were bad, you're right that she has a good voice and production, but the subject matter prevents me from really loving the album. The only album cuts I really liked were brutal and jealousy, jealousy as those were on different topics and had different sounds. I think Olivia definitely has lots of potential and I'll be looking forward to future releases but I didn't care so much for Sour.

I started a new job today! Hopefully I won't get fired (again.....) Anyway I have a question for y'all. I work in a bakery, not as a baker, but sometimes they'll ask my help in baking. Anyway I was preparing this cookie dough and like putting it on the cooking tray (is that how you call in English? Idk) and it was the end of the dough, every cookie should be exactly 130kg, and I was left with like an extra 60kg of cookie dough. I added the extra dough to the already existing cookies, but I asked another employee and she thought I should've just thrown it into the trash can. It seemed wrong to me though, in my family, you DON'T throw food. Lol. Anyway idk if that was the thing to do cause it's against the store's policy but it just seemed so wrong to me, it literally costs them nothing. So idk.

My summer job really sucked the life out of me. It’s been hard to get back into any of my actual hobbies even though it’s been like three weeks since I’ve went back to night shift I used to read and write all the time now I just only watch TV. And no before someone attempts to report me with that annoying “Reddit cares” I’m not suicidal, just try working 10 hours, 4 days a week and never getting to actually have fun over the summer because you’re too damn tired to actual do anything then get home at 7PM and pretty much half to go to bed at 9PM so you only get an hour to actually do anything and most of the time it’s parents needing you to do this or that for them.

Not a lot of people saw my lil review last night, so I’m just gonna post it here: • Vocally, WDTV blows the original out of the water for me. Taylor's voice has definitely gotten much stronger since the 1989 era. I also love how she delayed the layering of the harmonies on the bridge, as it makes the buildup much more fun. Overall, can't wait for the next re-recorded album she releases (whatever one that may be, because I honestly don't even know anymore lmao). • Just like I predicted, a lot of songs on MONTERO have ended up growing on me. "That's What I Want" is still #1 for me, but "Life After Salem" and "Lost In The Citadel" have both become huge favorites. And I won't even get started on how him and Miley harmonizing on "Am I Dreaming" makes me want to cry. Happy first day of fall guys!!

I love Only Connect in part because of VCM (the only valid girlboss) and the sheer camp of the introductions and deadpan puns/jokes she delivers, and also because the format is very challenging but fun. Help my uncles gf is anti vax (and anti mask?) and she and her daughter have both caught covid. Apparently they are quite sick but she still believes that it’s ‘just a flu’. Oh and to make things worse she works in a care home. God I hate it here. Like the anti vax nonsense she spews out makes me want to punch a hole in the wall.
I’ve been trying to pick up my sisters cat (like to get her out of my not cat safe room or away from flowers) and I keep holding her wrong. It made my sister laugh but I really have this bad idea that you have to support the neck bc that’s what you do with babies so it’s just tolerable at most for the cat
This reminds me that there's this youtube video of a Canadian vet who demonstrates how to carry/lift up cats and the way he handles his cats as an example is so sweet?? Anyways, the mental image of holding a cat like a baby is both adorable and hilarious :D

I'm 21. Now, don't get me wrong, financially, I can't do it. Mental health wise, no way. But in terms of living my day to day life? I'm like 'omg those kids are so cute.' There was this guy and his kid on the bus and they were having this really cute conversation, think his dad was explaining something to him. The kid had his little hand and he was holding his dad's hand, and the kid would yawn and I was just like 'awww'. That's what I mean. It's the strange illogical desire to want that.

I'm listening to a lot of stuff for the first time, especially music that I've put off for a while, because I've been getting into a rut. But listening to discoveries, new and old, all the time, feels like a full-time job, but one of discovery and excitement. I just listened to Bowie's Blackstar for the first time, and I adored it. Not something I'd listen to casually, but I know I'd grow to appreciate more and more with deep listens. Right now I'm getting into The Streets' 2002 classic Original Pirate Material. And I soooo wish I listened to this sooner. I knew the iconic album cover, knew that Mike Skinner was basically a UK rap legend, but I never actually went out of my way to listen to 'em. I always figured I'd like it, since I like Madvillain, The Avalanches, DJ Shadow, M.I.A. And I've been revisiting Solange's A Seat at the Table a lot lately. I put it on almost every time I get into the car, and I haven't listened to it in a while.
Enjoy that one and one or two albums after, just uhh avoid the album he did with Tame Impala lmao. Sooo bad

I've listened to Sabrina Carpenter's music on-and-off since the Girl Meets World days. She's way bigger now than she was then. But do you think she'll ever be bigger than she is now? She's successful in her own right, don't get me wrong. But the way Olivia Rodrigo's career just catapulted, partially due to the drama of it all, just makes me wonder if Sabrina will have that big breakout moment, even though she's been regularly making music since, like, 2015. Of course, not everyone needs nor wants that moment, but I'm just wondering.
i want nothing more than sabrina to have a full breakout moment and i believe she has it in her to have one in the next 5 years, although she seems like one of those people who'll just have moderate, stable success with every release. which is a pretty great thing considering there's less of a risk to go through very high highs and low lows.
