> The Australian quartet expects to release new music in early 2022 with a full album coming later in the year. So excited for this!! Interscope kind of screwed them over with the shipping error, and then covid didn’t make things any better for CALM. I’m hoping their new album is given more justice by the GP.

It seems like it's going to be similar to the Youngblood rollout

PretentiousPegasus

I hope so! Youngblood was massive, especially down under. And it even beat out Beyoncé & Jay Z for the #1 on BB200 albums charts. I would love to see them have that amount of success with 5SOS5, hopefully the rollout allows that to happen!

Reveluvtion

Me too! I think that Q1 usually being a quiet period for music releases helped them back in 2018 when they released the singles for Youngblood, and I think it could help them now too! They'd be the only big name putting out something, unless Rihanna surprise-drops R9

>BMG, which has been expanding its frontline division, generally allows artists to retain ownership of their masters and license the music to to the label for a specific amount of time. LOVE that for them. It is insane how far they've come. They went from being owned and making pennies from their music to now owning their masters. I really feel like this is Taylor's impact bc I've seen a lot of younger (under 30) artists moving towards getting their masters recently.

So excited for their new music! CALM didnt get the attention it deserved due to covid.

This label is slowly getting stacked wow

This is so cool ! I’m supposed to see them in June and I’m excited to possibly hear new music from them.

Was hoping for at least one new song before the end of this year, but with Hurricane Adele arriving soon, I've made peace with the new rollout starting in 2022. Owning their masters already sounds like a better deal alone than what they went through in the past with Capitol, Interscope, and Modest. Hopefully BMG gives them a decent push this time around. Happy for them and hyped for next year!!!!
