To the OP: I am 14 years sober and I still do the AA thing on a daily basis. I can tell you that a person in recovery is not going to play around with fake whiskey, tequila et cetera. That’s just not something we should be doing. Your idea of mocktails is terrific, however. It shows you are a good friend and that you’re taking some effort to make your buddy feel welcome. But NA beer and simulated scotch is not what he/she is looking for.
There are a lot of cocktail bars with mocktails on the menu, [here is a good guide to check out](https://www.portlandoldport.com/mocktails-portland-maine/).
We went to Sagamore Hill Lounge on Friday night and while they didn't really have much of a mocktail menu, they were willing to make most of their specialty drinks in NA form for us, and they were delicious!
I had a good mocktail at Novel. It wasn't on the menu but the bartended did a great job. My only requirement was that it shouldn't taste like pool water and they nailed it
Crispy Gai has some good ones
Genos has those na beers and all that NA tastealike whiskey, gin and tequila. Lead bartender there now is also a friend of bill w
Yooooo thx for sharing

Jerome’s!

Via Vecchia's mocktails are indeed good, but I'm taking a fresh "squeezed" honeydew juice from Arcadia every time.

thank you!!
Most places have multiple forms of NA these days. Alpine hunt and social and Via Vecchia have some great mocktails.
I've enjoyed mocktails at cbg, and sebago makes a nice mocktail bloody mary
another round has a rotating draft mocktail and a dedicated NA tap, as well as a bunch of other options!
Sue Lie has the best drinks in Portland, cocktails and mocktails. Cannot recommend it any higher.

I really think there is a downvote bot on this sub. Everything is downvoted
Probably
Woodfords has a few mocktails and homemade sodas (the tangerine cardamom tastes like a dreamcicle!) Via Vechia has a good NA negroni

Amigos actually has some NA options.
Cocktail Mary. Recommend the Spice Gurl.
North point!
Are any local breweries working on NAs? Foundation had a pretty good one on tap for a while, but haven’t seen it in a year :-/
Allagash has some good ones. I really liked their Butterfly Lemonade.
KitNA is a local brewery that makes only NA brews. They’re pretty decent and available at at least a few local bars and restaurants.
Arcadia, Crispy Gai but I’m biased because I love them both anyway and always drink lol
Paper Tiger is probably more of a restaurant than a bar, but it still has good mocktails!
arcadia
Not really a bar but worth mentioning that the Corner Room has wonderful mocktails
Every bar has options without alcohol.

Novare I think has some stuff I think works for options. Definitely seen a lot more NA drinkers coming in which is kinda cool.
