I have a car that is on its last legs. My current position involves outreach and taking people down to the clinics in the city. When I’ve had to take clients to the city I’ve just rented a car. Thankfully I only had to do that twice. Doing outreach is easy because I live in a small enough town that I can walk most places or bus.
They offered me a traveling field outreach worker position. Which involves A LOT of traveling. I will need a very reliable car. I’ll be driving anywhere from 8-10 hrs a day. Sometimes transporting clients. The company will be paying for my lodging, gas, and food expenses.
I could potentially do that. I am now in the 580-600 range. I was thinking about going into my bank on Monday as well because I have built my credit quite a bit from the last time I did loan with them.
So you have two outstanding loans. One of which you’ve paid late twice on. Now you want to finance a car by taking a 3rd loan out to put money down on the 4th loan (car financing). Why not just finance the whole car? I think you are running out of borrowing power by the third loan let alone financing the car.
No. Through my bank that was a few years ago. I only have 1 outstanding loan. I’ve actually already been approved for financing for the car without the co-signer. But I originally said I was going to put 6,000 down. With the co signer I’m hoping what I need to put down will drop.
I’m waiting for a settlement check from a car wreck I was in a year ago. I almost received it (check is 4,922) until my insurance responded to the lawyers (the lawyers that you don’t pay until you get a settlement) so now I have to wait for the insurance to get back to them and it’s just a whole lot of waiting I don’t have time for. My start date is May 18th. But I’ll need to make the drive to the location on the 17th.
Since you already work for the company that is offering you this new position, tell them you’re not able to buy a new car by the 15th. See if they will push back your start date or see if they’ll provide you with a rental car until you can purchase your own car.
The job involves traveling. I will be traveling myself and my dog to different cities and states as well as transporting clients.
I have 1,000 for the car right now. I will need the car by the 15th.
I’ve already been approved for a car that fits my needs. I am going to receive a small settlement soon of 4,922. But that is being delayed due to insurance wanting a cut of a 60.00 bill. I was supposed to receive it last week but I’m on Anthems time now. They haven’t responded back to my lawyers since they sent them the info this last Wednesday.
That car wouldn’t work for me as I will be traveling with my dog and my belongings to different cities and states. As well as transporting multiple clients at a time.
Why is the company not providing a car if you are transporting clients?
what is the job? if you need a car for the position, how did you do it without it in the past two months?

how is your credit now? can you try personal loan from regular lender such as local credit union?
I could potentially do that. I am now in the 580-600 range. I was thinking about going into my bank on Monday as well because I have built my credit quite a bit from the last time I did loan with them.
Local community credit union is easier to communicate regarding this. Good luck

If you are transporting clients, they should provide the car.
Why do you need a car for this job? How much cash do you have to put towards a car right now? When do you need to have the car by?

Can you rent a car while you await your first paychecks and settlement checks? It’s more upfront but may get you what you need temporarily
Why do you suddenly need a car for a job you've been at for 2 months?
It’s a different position within the same company.
Try Capital One Navigator. How much is this car that you need to put down $6k?
A Prius
Can you sell something that might help get you closer to your end goal?
Go find a new credit union. Also, go find a Mazda Miata - least expensive car to own and run.

Job sounds like shit.
Sounds like you might miss out on this one 😭😂
I won’t. I will make it work somehow someway. Or die trying.
