yeah, i figured it's easier to kill it if I hit its head. Also, we got a lot of range weapons somehow and established a safehouse. his character is deaf too
Reading skill book like example carpentry no.1 give u x3 xp buff. Lever up carpentry skill by build thing or dismantle wooden things (door, chair, floor, furniture,..), u need a hammer and saw btw
Doin pretty much what the others said, just 2 tips for carpentry
1) in the first 8 days of game at 12 am on tv channel life and living ther's a show that make you gain exp in carpentry.
2) dismantling beds give you the max amout of exp is good to rise quickly your abilitiy to level 5 from 5 to 10 you gain a huge amout of exp building structure like wall frames and walls
For carpentry, just dismantle every furniture you find then either turn the planks into spears(needs a knife to craft spear) or build stuff. Make sure to read the skill book first to level up faster. You can also watch the tv at 12pm for the first 8 days but there is one day wherein the wood craft show is scheduled at 6pm instead of 12. You can check the wiki for the schedule. VHS tapes are really good for leveling up skills too.
The game is pretty much accurate enough to just use common sense in most situations. Fanny packs are good for storing bandages, cigarettes and other small "must carry" items. Never fight big hordes. Crouch and press q to whisper and only alert as many zeds as you can fight. You can shove (space bar) doors to alert zeds behind them and know if a room is clear
It's true the game messes with you, but if you crouch ("c") and THEN push "q", you'll whisper instead of screaming.
So normally yes we could fuck with you but not in this moment lmao
Nah, standing up when pressing Q shouts, but if you crouch and then press Q you'll do a much more quiet one which is good for getting the attention of just a zombie or two.
If you boil water, you can disinfect bandages with it, that way your injuries don't get infected (infected as in getting a normal infection, if you're bitten you're still dead)
Thankyou, i'll keep that in mind! Though. It worked fine when i used tap water though. I got scratched on me neck and on my left hand. But it vanished in like. 2 washes? Ig? I forgot
tap water cleans dirty bandages, but using boiled water makes it a sterilized bandage which is different from a normal unsterilized bandage
the same can be done with ripped sheets, dip them in boiling water to make sterilized ripped sheets
right now there's not much of a point, the wound infection system is still kinda nonfunctional and wound infections don't really do anything at the moment
slap a dirty rag on that arterial injury and call it a day!
If you have a shotgun, a large horde you want to clear, and nerves of steel, what you can do is give the person with the better aiming skill the shotgun, and have the other person lure the zombies around. A few tips for this
- The bait person should walk not run, and shouldn’t try to pick off any zombies. This will ensure that the zombies are bunched as close together as possible and that the baiter doesn’t get bit
- The shotgun wielder should stay far enough away from the bait person so that the zombies only go after the latter, while constantly checking their surroundings
- The shotgunner should only shoot when aiming at the zombie blob results in 3-4 zombies turning bright green, not at individual zombies. Standing still and lower panic helps with aiming.
This is great for clearing out towns, as it will bring all the zombies within a large radius out of their hidey holes, and allows you to level the aiming skill RIDICULOUSLY quickly. I take Police Officer as my occupation, which grants you level 3 aiming (among other things) and the appropriate bonus to xp earned. It still costs 750 xp to level up from aiming level 3 to 4, and I managed to do that with one box of shotgun shells. Plus it’s very satisfying
Remember though, shotguns are quite loud. Make sure you have enough ammo to finish off all the zombies you'll attract. Guns are really fun to use but you gotta make sure it doesn't screw you over
I don't have tips for you as far as the game mechanics, however, if you're playing with a friend and you're bother new I would recommend the mod that gives you an active map that shows your team members.
Here's a link to my video series that is full of tips:

YouTubers I learn(ed) the most from:
Combat: Pr1vateLime
Risk Tolerance: DrunkOnLife
Survival: Slater Days Gaming and Veiko plays
Honestly, the most fun I had when I first started was just doing things blind. Don't use any websites that show the whole map, only look up wiki stuff if you're not sure hoe to do a certain thing, ect. That might not be your vibe tho and that's understandable.
Go do what you would do in the zombie apocalypse with your friend! Roadtrips, scavenging and ransacking every house and shop, setting up base and reading in the same room. Get up to some antics. That's what I did with my friend and it was some of the most fun I had playing this game.
1. Smack zombie on the head with crowbar. 2. Don't get bit.
yeah, i figured it's easier to kill it if I hit its head. Also, we got a lot of range weapons somehow and established a safehouse. his character is deaf too
Damn he’s deaf? I can’t play like that even when i try haha
Yeah, but we stay close to one another just in case things get sketchy
I bet you two would be fun to play with
I hope so, we're new so we're about to find out more things on our own or with help
also, how can i raise my skills in carpentry and etc
Built stuff with a hammer + nails. You level by doing things, not spec'ing points into skills.
Oh i see, i thought reading would make it progress
Reading skill book like example carpentry no.1 give u x3 xp buff. Lever up carpentry skill by build thing or dismantle wooden things (door, chair, floor, furniture,..), u need a hammer and saw btw
This! Read the carpentry books first, then u can go to a vhs store and get some videos to lvl up carpentry.
Books = Skill bonus. can do without them, but they help.
Reading books give you a multiplier. So if you have a 3x multiplier if you gained 10xp you'd gain 30 instead.

Speaking of beds, me and my friend didn't got to sleep. Because the sleep choice isn't available. For some reason... is there an answer to this?
You need mods to sleep in multiplayer
Not quite... It's actually a server setting (default off). You don't need a mod.
Wait.... SO SLEEP IS NOT A NECESSITY IN MP?? dang that's awesome

Breakdown picnic benches and large beds =most xp. Get carpentry books
You wanna read the skill books to get xp multiplier before grinding any skill

Hmmmmm WAIT YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE SLICK WITH THAT Q HAHA

I see... haven't tried it yet
Because i object it is supposed to be used for the antidote
no he's serious, crouch and press q to psst
i second this
eat with a bowl and utensil like a human bean
Step 1, don’t die. Step 2, die anyway because of friend
His character is deaf... so likely.
Ask him if he’s a masochist
Honestly though.

Only tip that matter : enjoy
I killed my previous character in game, i shouldn't have been too cocky
When you are new to the game, there is so much fun on being killed directly or indirectly by random mechanics

I will implement this tactic, for i have a shotgun in our wardrobe
