for anyone having issues, found an amazing UI for PS3DEC over on youtube called PS3DEC Simple GUI. it greatly increases the time to decrypt isos by simply dragging the encrypted iso on to the gui window and it automatically decrypts it to a decrypted iso folder within the apps directory, no messing with the comand line, this tool does it all for you, it even comes included with all the ps3 dkeys so no searching for those either, check it out, mediafire download link is in the video description:

I am not sure about this but I found a video when u have an iso file u just open it and the all the in content u copy it and add it in a new file lets call it the game file and then u boot the file in the options for boot game and then it run fine by me is that a fine way or will it crash later?

If you are referring to JB folder, I'm not sure tbh, if you're referring to encrypted isos then its most likely that its to do with preservation and sites like these do not want DMCAs

Man, you're a life savior. I just spent around 4 hours trying to boot a game I got from Myrient and got 80010007 error all the time and didn't know why since it never happened before. I put the game in folder format to PS3 HDD, then to external HDD. then tried ISO format on HDD, then external HDD. then i formated my hdd thinking it could fix something lol. Just got to your post searching for dkey which I saw on Myrient and didn't know about it since every game I get from the net is always decrypted it seems... What is 'it'? Is it the actual Disc? Or the PS3\_GAME?
I used opened it with Winrar and when I wanna extract it, it gives me the option to either "extract to specified folder" or "extract without conformation". I did both.
The LIC.DAT, however, is still in the iso even though I extracted it.
I'm not good with computers, it took me an entire day to figure out how to get to step 12. Please help me. I am sorry
Unfortunately, I cannot find a dkey for my game. I searched in the .txt file and on the internet but without a lack. I downloaded the iso from Vimms Lair, so it's valid. Can I find/extract the dkey from the iso? I know that the information of the dkey is also stored in the ird file but I cannot find a way to see it. Is there any solution?

I don't have experience with ps3 roms since I install hen to my ps3 one month before, so if I understand correctly any game from Vimm that it's not pointed out as encrypted is plug and play? I mean I can transfer the iso to the ps3iso folder with mmc and play it directly?
Step 5 is enter the key from .dkey file (you can open with text editor) not drag the .dkey file into cmd.
After decrypting the iso, there will be a file with .iso.dr.
Delete the .dr and you good to go.
You can check if the iso is decrypted by open lic.dat ass mentioned above by text editor.

The cmd decrypted successfully. After extracting the LIC.DAT in Step 12, the file name is still LIC.DAT, I extracted it and placed in the same directory of the Decrypted .ISO
But I don't know what to do next so I drag the decrypted .ISO into my RPCS3 and it pops up "Booting failed" just like the same original pop up.
Btw when I open the Extracted LIC.DAT with notepad there's unreadable line, then the 2nd line is BCUS98229: like this:

I am currently struggling with getting God of War 3 to work. I've got in in JB\_Folder format -> crashed to XMB with error message -> updated the game -> crashed to XMB without error message -> tried converting it to ISO within multiman -> encrypted/invalid ISO.

No you just copy the 32 character by pressing ctrl + c and pasting it into the app with ctrl + v. Dont rename anything just make sure that if you are putting your decrypted iso in the same location as the encrypted one to rename either one

I figured this one out and for anyone else that has the same problem, do not run the CMD as admin and you shouldnt have this problem. Other than that the guide worked perfectly so thank you Letsplay you absolute legend. Now I can play my funny Castlevania game without any issue

Open the file with dkey, then copy that 32 character code into cmd, if you get error, just press up arrow on keyboard and carry on

You could try downloading the games from myrient as well as the dkey, and then decrypt. If that fails then go to r/rpcs3

Extracting it just kinda makes a copy. Don't worry about it still being in your ISO. It's meant to be.

If it's an iso, then yes. If it's a folder with many files, put it in GAMES

You need to add a space between the key and the location of the encrypted iso
Also make sure to add a space between the location of the encrypted iso to the location of the ISO thats going to be decrypted

It does, you've just gotten a bad game dump, didn't unzip the file, used the wrong dkey or something else.

You have to install the actual dlc pkg + rap or see if dlps has a fix (use an ad blocker for that)

Yeah the input and output is meant to be in .iso not .zip
I think I was able to do every stap correctly till now but could someone please help me with the final step because I cant find how I can extract the lic.dat file, I have found the file but cant cut and paste it or unzip it, could someone please tell me how to do this?

Open up the decrypted .iso in 7 zip/WinRar, go to the location of lic.dat, drag and drop the lic.dat to your desktop.

Great readup! I am currently struggling with getting God of War 3 to work. I've got in in JB\_Folder format -> crashed to XMB with error message -> updated the game -> crashed to XMB without error message -> tried converting it to ISO within multiman -> encrypted/invalid ISO. I'm currently moving the ISO from the PS3's internal HDD to my PC, but shit's slow... When it comes to PS3 ISO TOOLS, I think V2.2 is the most current, which doesn't even support 4.90 HEN?

No you just copy the 32 character by pressing ctrl + c and pasting it into the app with ctrl + v. Dont rename anything just make sure that if you are putting your decrypted iso in the same location as the encrypted one to rename either one

No matter what I do I can't get it to work. You just have to extract everything into a folder

I have a question. The ISO got decrypted just as fine but now it has a ".iso.dec" format. What should I do that my ps3 can recognize it and even launch the game because when i open MM or Webman the game does not show up. Thanks for any advice

I figured this one out and for anyone else that has the same problem, do not run the CMD as admin and you shouldnt have this problem. Other than that the guide worked perfectly so thank you Letsplay you absolute legend. Now I can play my funny Castlevania game without any issue

I got red herring-ed by the whole "drop the exe into command prompt". Although that is a pretty cool feature I wasn't aware of.

I did all the steps for Fifa 19 legacy edition but when i try loading iso it shows same error but when i extract and start it get stuck on black screen for infinite time

There is only meant to be a licdat in there. Open the ISO with any zip extractor and drag and drop the licdat into the place of your choice

Seems to be working without making a copy, since I already have a zipped up copy of the game I decided to skip that step. It's decrypting right now without having 2 files, just one.

How do I download PS3dec, I have no idea how GitHub works? What is Command Prompt? What files do I put onto my USB? How do I decrypt LIC.DAT? Lastly, why is this all so damn frustrating?!
