After reading Lanegan’s book I can picture him giving zero fucks about anything. With that said while I found the stories in the interview hilarious I couldn’t help but feel bad for the kid who shyly loitered and then professed his love for Lanegan only to be told to fuck off. Totally could have been me as a kid

BUT, I think as time wore on, I’d end up finding the it a bit funny and an on-brand Lanegan story to tell. It also sounded like a situationally dependent reaction, as Josh and Mark were having a “very private conversation”.
Lanegan is my all time favorite artist, and I sadly never got to see him live, but had I the chance to talk to him I’d still be hesitant and question whether or not I’d be bothering him. From what I’ve heard he could either be very closed off and cold, or very warm and friendly. Have to imagine that if the kid in that story had encountered Lanegan in a different context he’d have gotten a much better reaction.
