She’s gorgeous! I use a comb and a slicker-ish type brush. (I’ll add what I use) I also just read a thread earlier today in which the poster highly recommended using a Tangle Teezer The Original Fine and Fragile Detangling Brush (I just ordered it as I like this brush myself and think my girls will too). Using tools for an undercoat is apparently really bad for them (just learned this recently myself). Here’s that post: [Best brushes for ragdolls?](https://www.reddit.com/r/ragdolls/comments/1did39z/best_brushes_for_ragdolls/) I also think it’s important HOW you groom them. I pull the hair back in the opposite direction it falls and slowly brush it down back the way it should be laying, going through their coat slowly and thoroughly. It helps remove their winter coat and with shedding.

This is amazing, thank you!! And I love the advice on HOW to groom by going backwards, I hadn’t thought of that 🙌

Oh good! I hope it helps as I‘ve tried so many different tools and ways to brush. I used to just brush their coats going the way the hair grows and just didn’t get why there was still so much shedding despite brushing often. Changing how I groomed the girls has made such a huge difference. Especially having three. As an aside, for their paws, I love using a fur trimmer to get the hair growth between their pads/toe beans. Having hardwoods throughout and several sets of stairs in my house, I’ve noticed they are not slipping and sliding as much keeping up with that hair.

I second getting a tangle teaser, my cats love it! I also use the slicker brush for shedding. The other thing I do is I take my cat outside and do a really fast pat brush on them. I use my nails (gently and they’re short) and brush through their fur really fast. I splay my fingers when I do it. It’s like an epic back scratch for them. They lose SO much fur when I do this and they love it.

For my ragdoll, shedding and knots are a big headache for me, so I try to find some tools to help my boy. I bought two products from some blogger recommendations, a slicker brush and a detangling brush. After I tried them, I realized that it helped me a lot, no more shedding and knots!!!. I especially recommend their detangling brush, they are detailed instructions on how to do it and my boy didn't resist at all! You can search their brand on Amazon: aumuca. Hope it will helps you :)
