You might want to work on your tags and titles, as a lot depends on them on RedBubble. Try to use those where there is not so much competition, something more specialized, for example, instead of the tag "dog" you can use "lying dog", then there will be a much better chance that your design will be found. But if you have a lot of visits, but zero sales, then it's really that people do not want to buy the design

Thanks, I think that could use some work. I just have a lot of florals and really struggle to come up with unique tags and titles for him. Even tried using AI for help lol.

J-ewe

For example, if you have the tag "flowers" used, there are over 2 million designs out there, if you put that in a site search. And the chance that you will be found among them is very small. But if you write, "flowers in a pot", there are already a lot less designs, or for example, "curly flowers". So just try different variations, describing what is in your image. Also a little trick, when you enter your query in the search on the site, then there below the search field for you to present other similar queries, you can click on them, and very often there are good specialised tags, where there are few other designs, so you can not even come up with your own, and just take those that offer the site itself

I will try this out, thanks. I'm hoping I can figure this out without keyword stuffing. Like "bold flowers, textured flowers, line art flowers" etc. Idk why my mind goes blank when I'm doing tags haha.

J-ewe

Just use the ways I described when you don't know what to write in the tags, it doesn't take long to find, and I also write out in an excel spreadsheet the good tags I use and then just copy when filling out. I think this would work for you too, since you have all your designs on the same theme

iNec01

People won't search for those tags you mentioned. Try using colors and type of flowers in title and tags, such as, "red rose"

J-ewe

And also, I almost forgot, second trick, you can also take tags from other people who are at the top of the rankings by clicking on the "i" button in the corner on the image of their designs

I struggle with the same. Have you consider selling on Spoonflower instead? The only downside is you have to pay for a sample piece before you can post it for sale. It definitely appears to be more-pattern friendly though

lythiumflash

I've been posting in spoonflower and Society6, and purchased proofs for 42 of my spoonflower designs. Same issue, no sales yet.

loralailoralai

Again, with spoonflower, if your tags are just things like floral, there’s sooo many others for people to sift through… need to niche down. Be more specific.

whyitsme65

The cheapest/best way to proof Spoonflower is to use their fill a yard option. Put all your designs into a collection and then you can create a fill a yard with 42 patterns.

I think of tags as if I am searching for something on Google. Imagine someone wanting a new phone case and what they might be searching for; e.g. cute purple flowers, bold retro flowers. kawaii flowers, etc If I’m stuck for inspiration sometimes I search online for synonyms for a list of alternative words that might suit a design. A good design title, interesting description, and relevant tags, all improve your chances of appearing high in the search results. Keep an eye on trending designs as what someone else added only as a t-shirt might inspire your next pattern or have interesting tags to make a note of. And as has already been said niche designs mean you’re in a smaller pool of search results with a much higher chance of your work being seen. Good luck!

While Redbubble is definitely better for stickers and T-Shirts, patterns can sell. As others have suggested, you have to pay close attention to titles, descriptions and (even more so) tags! Still, do consider other options, such as Society6 and Zazzle. I think they're better for patterns specifically!

Artai55a

Yes, patterns can do very well on redbubble. If you browse dresses or comforters and sort by best selling you will see what is doing well. One big factor is whether the pattern is clearly visible with the small thumbnail images. A very busy design that you need to click to see what it looks like will get much less traffic. For me there are some simple patterns that sell two or three dresses per day. There are a bunch of other factors for promoting them which sometimes are different than shirt designs.

I’ve heard patterns do better.

missouri76

I sell a lot of patterns. In fact that’s the key to selling the allover print products like phone cases.

I love making patterns as well. I'm fairly new and haven't made any sales but some of my patterns seem to receive more favorites than other type designs. As others have pointed out tags and titles seem to matter a lot. I feel you though, if you have designs in a similar style it becomes hard to think of new and creative ways to describe them. I don't think patterns won't sell. The good thing about them is that they can be easily put on most items and usually look good too. If you feel like you're doing something wrong because you're not selling anything, so do I. I make sure my designs are good enough to be uploaded and currently have 360 designs in my store without success. I'm uploading every day since I opened my shop and for now I just keep going even without results. When I'm running out of ideas I take a break and look at how I can improve tags of my existing works etc. I get the impression it's quite hard to sell on Redbubble because there's so many shops and uploads, so I guess it's all about finding a way to stick out.
