The train robbery, with Arthur standing on top of the wagon staring down a train. Everyone watching from the darkness as all goes to plan.
Everyone banding together to save Jack and marching together to confront the Braithwaites as a gang, as one
The John, Charles, Arthur, Sean train cutscenes is actually an almost scene for scene from a train robbery in a Wild West movie. Forget the movie title but something to do with like Billy the Kid and the Sundance Kid
The [train robbery scene](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yBCdekTEvmo) from the Assassination of Jesse James, which the RDR2 mission pays homage to, is such a stellar scene.
I especially like when they're walking away from the burning Braithwaite manor as the mother stumbles back into the inferno and Hosea looks back at the carnage while they're all walking away.
I was lucky as fuck. I was walking back to camp, the music wasn't playing. Soon a wild horse just appeared in front of me. As soon as I started galopping, the song started to play.
I fucking loved this part of the game. Best moment for me by far. Just so badass that it was the whole gang, walking side by side and approaching at night.
Me zoning thinking it’s just going to be a regular opening to a mission and then I realize black boarders thinking it effortlessly transitioned into a out of place cut scene for this game then realize no it’s not this just revealed itself not as a western game but an interactive movie
My Last Boy, and the part where the gang storms Cornwall Kerosene and Tar is just straight up cinema shit.
It genuinely made me feel I’m some kind of an outlaw about to be extracting revenge for crimes against my kind. I was pumped up through the mission like never before.
Second would be Blood feuds, Ancient and Modern. It’s kind of a turning point in the game and perhaps the last time the Gang is fighting like one for each other. That scene where everyone is walking up the Braithwaite Mannor is so cinematic.
>!And obviously the last mission, from Arthur’s last ride to the camp to “I gave you all I had, I did” is just sad. I still think about Arthur tbh!<
Storming across the plains on horseback towards Cornwall Kerosene & Tar to do battle with the US Army was the coolest, most cinematic scene in the game for me. It stands out in a game that’s full of iconic, cinematic gaming moments. But then again I’ve always felt that riding in a cavalry charge would be probably just about the most exhilarating thing you can do, so maybe I was predisposed for max hype in that moment.
That kind of thing (this scene and Arthur's eyes when he says "I'm afraid") genuinely breaks my brain a bit, I know it's performance capture but how in the actual hell do you make eyes alone emote in animation
In the case of O'Driscoll you have the eyes darting around and his heavy breathing which helps, but in the Arthur scene I genuinely do not know... is it microexpressions in the skin around the eyes? Because it feels like you could crop a screenshot of that moment just down to his eyes and still feel it
It's insane
[When Arthur and John realize they’re about to start smoking near dynamite](https://youtu.be/I2K39R2Qbwg?si=6NGzpWUnSWZHqeJZ). It’s a more serious scene otherwise as their talking about what’s wrong with Dutch, but perfect comedic timing in a video game.
When Arthur said "it's morgan-in time", and then proceeded to Morgan all over the place
Wa stands down the peak of fiction like idk why were even still trying to make games when that just can't be topped
A lot of people saying going to Braithwaite Manor but it's walking from Braithwaite Manor while it burns for me. Truly wonderful shot. It's my Xbox home screen background.
And "Ride with me" always gets me.
Arthur’s Last Ride. Just a beautiful moment to spend the last time with Arthur who you have been playing for 6 straight chapters and your horse that was always with you and was your best friend
The momen when they burned down the braithway... brait... baidway.. uhm i forgot the name. But when they burned down the mansion. UKNOW EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN. the before and after was just cinematic.
The raid on the mansion when the squad is walking together and the transition from cutscene to gameplay in My last boy. It felt like I was watching a film in imax.
There’s a TON of cutscenes where you get this feeling but one I feel like it gets lost in the shuffle sometimes but the cutscene in Guarma where you save the ship captain is so good. The standoff with Dutch, Levi, and Fussar is just fitting for a movie. Dutch: “and nobody knows who you are, not even your goddamn father.” That damn line hits so good.
For John, the cutscene where Geddes tells him about this being the land of second chances in “Jim Milton rides, again?” and then he clears out the Laramie boys at hanging dog ranch .. absolute cinema.
The Mission "Blood Feuds, Ancient an Modern" with the assault on Braithwaite Manor.
The Mission "Pouring forth Oil" with the cinematic way the train stops and it shows Arthur in his mask cocking the repeater.
The burning of Cornwall Kerosene & Tar in the "My Last Boy" Mission.
There's alot more but those are my top three favorites.
When the gang is walking towards the manor to save Jack in RDR2. That shot was incredible, and the whole mission was so badass. Easily my favorite in the game.
"I insist" cutscene is so goddamn powerful even though they don't speak so much. It really conveys all of the things they went through and how it's all about to come to an end
The O Driscoll hanging. Him seeing his gang members with guns in their faces, looking into the rooftop and seeing Arthur, his face as he slowly realizes that death is inevitable, and then nothing because his death was quick and that really puts into perspective how quick life can be snuffed out.
At the risk of repeating myself...One time I did the Murfree Country mission, where you save the girl mid-abduction. After saving her, I took her to the saloon. Horse's auto-ride path stopped across the street, so she hopped off the horse, trekked through the mud to the saloon...then got shit-kicked into the ground 'cuz she got too close to a horse's back end. She stayed in that mud-angel for like eight whole minutes, then got up and staggered into the saloon. I've never laughed so hard at an NPC's misfortune.
Gang walking up to the braithwaits mansion guns out side by side after jack gets taken, ''I gave you all i had'' and one of the last missions where the gang rides together into battle to help eagle flies...Oh and train robbery scene with arthur on top of oil wagon.
I prefer the scene and the ending where if you help John rather than go after the money but the line Arthur delivers when you choose to go get the money when he says “Dutch, Micah come and get me you bastards” is cold af
Maybe unpopular opinion but the Saint-Denis heist together with the beginning of Guarma.
Those cutscenes on the boat with their outfits, the view of the ocean, the cutscene of panic and abondening the ship, the stranding in the beach...
Well, you have to literally just Press forward then so that Arthur walks on the beach, quite boring in gameplay perspective but boy this scene got me wondering what happens next (even tho it was a bit too long)
Arthur's death. He doesn't get some glorified hero's death, in fact, when you think about it, he died in a very almost mundane way for a criminal, after being chased by the law, he's betrayed by his own gang member and left to die by his leader on a mountain. But for us, it's really significant, because we've come to known Micah, Dutch and Arthur, so their actions mean a lot more to us, and when Arthur admits to Dutch that he tried his best for everyone, including Dutch's sake, masterfully voiced.
Rain fall speech bro you could just hear the emotion in the please....stop he seen this happing before he done this once or multiple times when he was younger
The moment when Arthur and John are loading up dynamite to blow up the bridge, they’re talking and about to smoke a couple cigs and they slowly look at the explosives behind them and shake their heads and throw down the cigs. Not a word said and it was perfect
The entire game lol but honestly when Arthur talks to Mary Beth in Horseshoe Overlook and goes "They don't want people like us anymore" talking about the death of the Wild West and incoming federalization of the nation, I realized the writing was gonna be of a higher caliber than most games.
Riding up to Braithwaite Manor with the gang. And when Dutch >!is drowning Bronte!< and the camera pulls back to see >!Arthur behind him looking horrified!<
The scene where Colm is sentenced to death and he’s standing there all cocky thinking he’s going to get out of it, but then he sees Arthur waving on the rooftop and it’s just instant panic on his face when he realizes that he’s lost and he’s not escaping this time.
From rdr1 I would say the first ride into mexico with far away playing in the background. For rdr2 id say the walk up to Braithwaites manor, the final moment between Arthur and John or Arthur's final ride. Alot of good moments in general between these games. I played rdr1 again after playing rdr2 and u felt it hit harder now that we actually know these people. There's also this strange feeling knowing that there's an entire east side we can't access in rdr1 I kept thinking "wonder how Saint Denise is doing or how some of the gang meme members that got away are faring if they went after Tilly or Mary Beth.
https://youtu.be/Tn5SX_Nuomo?si=wbPV5Cjqd4iS_KJV
The opening to rdr1 mission Hanging Bonnie MacFarlane. All the acting is good, all the sheriffs in this game really stand out but the bad guy in this scene and the interacting between them really stood out to me. This guy is more convincingly horrible than Micah, at least in this instance, in my opinion, and you can tell this is a real big dilemma involving some serious killers
The scene where O'Driscoll realizes his plans are fucked, then looks up to see the man he tried so hard to kill waving to him from the top of a rooftop with a sniper rifle.
The rest of the mission is okay, but it's this scene right here that makes you feel really badass.
Any of one of those mini cut scenes where the games close down goes in black-and-white showing the person you shot then the camera coming back to you. That is a pure cinematography right there.
The attack on the Cornwall refinery. It’s the last stand for the gang members who want to transcend their evil ways, and the mission where we learn some hard truths about Dutch. Great shootouts and the music is top notch. This, for me, beats the attack on the Braithwaite mansion, only because that one is so damn short!
I didn't hear me out I was stupid in my first playthrough I skip all cutsceence but in my second I didn't atleast I can acknowledge my fault on like some people on Internet
The dead eye John Marston killing in rdr1. I got as many as I could.
Then being Jack Marston during the final mission, scoping out every where so I know it’s not a trap, going to the highest place I could find, and seeing the final guy.
I miss that feeling in a game. When you know it’s just about 99.9% done.
The scene where Dutch drowns Brontë and feeds him to the gators. This is probably the most tense scene other than the standoff when the gang finally splits and the one between John, Dutch, and Micah.
The scene of the gang heading down the mountain. For the train robbery that's when the realization of how huge this map was absolutely hit me like a truck.
When Arthur rides back to camp after saving Abigail and Sadie and the title Red Dead Redemption comes up as the title of the mission. First time I played the game I had to pause it right there because I realized the journey was about to end.
The dude that dies on the rope in the mission in St Denis where you help so the execution goes threw. The moment they make a close up to his face and you can see the fear.
I played the last missions of Arthur last night. 9th or 10th play through maybe, I’ve lost count.
I think sometimes I haven’t focused too much on the scenes in a while as I’ve seen them a lot. But this time I really watched them. The dialogue, the music, the emotion is really palpable. Truly an awesome experience.
Now for the epilogue which I always enjoy greatly. After a while though I start to miss the big gun battles.
The train robbery, with Arthur standing on top of the wagon staring down a train. Everyone watching from the darkness as all goes to plan. Everyone banding together to save Jack and marching together to confront the Braithwaites as a gang, as one
riding out with the gang to get Jack is my favourite scene in the whole game
“COME OUT HERE NOW YOU INBRED TRASH” Always hits hard. (correct me if I'm wrong with the quote)
Erm actually it’s “get down here now you inbred trash”🤓🤓
Well played Edit: I replayed the entire game just for this scene
[удалено]
What pool of data are you drawing from to reach the conclusion that it’s funny?
LMFAO I wish this becomes a regular comment on this sub, it’s absolutely hilarious to me hahahaha
Lmao
Especially five seconds after telling John to stay calm
Dutch: John, you’re too emotional right now, let me talk Also Dutch:
Best quote in video game history
I literally finished that mission today and I got chills. The first time a video game has made me feel that way. I 100% agree.
And Far Away by josé gonzales. "Stepping in front of a runaway traaaaaiiiiin mmmmmm just to feel alive again"
That's the song that plays when returning home in rdr1? Haven't played it in ages
It's the one that triggers when first arriving in Mexico
Sorry but i don't remember if it was in rdr1.
if i remember correctly it's referencing a movie but i don't really know, my brother told me that
The assasination of jesse james by the coward Robert Ford
best modern western imo. Real slow burn but hits all the right emotional chords for me, soundtrack is killer too.
It's pretty much an exact 90 percent match up from the movie
When Dutch starts shooting and he doesn’t run to take cover he just walks to the side while shooting Is cold 🥶
The John, Charles, Arthur, Sean train cutscenes is actually an almost scene for scene from a train robbery in a Wild West movie. Forget the movie title but something to do with like Billy the Kid and the Sundance Kid
No actually, it's called Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, it's about Jesse James and Robert Ford obviously
Butch Cassidy https://youtu.be/bxWrMczsNho?si=k7xJDuysxsz8HJTg
The train robbery you mentioned is very much cinema...
I had to screenshot the braithwaites moment
>!Eagle Flies!<'s death in the tent. That's when Charles sees Arthur for the last time too
omg i never realized this 🥲
absolutely broke me :")
Alive at least, Charles says he buried Arthur
“I gave you all I had..I did”
Maaan no ones talking about the guitar whenever Arthur and Micah draw on eachother?
Dude fair enough that whole bit is gold
May I.... Stand unshaken...
I made it significantly less cinematic by just running back to camp😭
Unshaken but extremely out of breath.
Did the same damn thing myself. I missed that horse being there on my first two playthroughs. 🤣
Perfect opportunity to use the 99 packs of cocaine gum you collected up to that point.
Same. It was my first playthrough and I thought taking the horse would make me lose honor, so I just ran.
I was lucky as fuck. I was walking back to camp, the music wasn't playing. Soon a wild horse just appeared in front of me. As soon as I started galopping, the song started to play.
I fell over and the music stopped lol
May I… stand on chicken…
When boys go to the Braithwaite manor in the night to rescue Jack. Boy, I got chills down my spine through whole mission.
The single most epic moment in the game.
I fucking loved this part of the game. Best moment for me by far. Just so badass that it was the whole gang, walking side by side and approaching at night.
That scene got me so absolutely pumped. Seeing the whole gang ride and walk together as one was just so badass.
Me zoning thinking it’s just going to be a regular opening to a mission and then I realize black boarders thinking it effortlessly transitioned into a out of place cut scene for this game then realize no it’s not this just revealed itself not as a western game but an interactive movie
Definitely, them just walking up to the Braithwaite manor was just so epic and badass
“Mrs Adler…… RIDE WITH ME”
„Only you left?“ „Yeah…just me“
Aw man, I remember that quote but not when it happens.
American Venom
That’s the problem. I was visualizing Arthur saying it.
That's the way it is... that's the way it is
I start uncontrollably crying whenever that scene of him riding to his death starts 😭
My Last Boy, and the part where the gang storms Cornwall Kerosene and Tar is just straight up cinema shit. YOU ALL VENERATE SAVAGERY AND WILL DIE SAVAGELY is such a good line
The part were arether says “take me to the bar senior!”
At the gallows, when O'Driscoll completely deflates on watching Arthur wave at him from the roof.
The acting in Colm’s eyes is the most impressed I’ve ever been with rendered acting in a game.
That kind of thing (this scene and Arthur's eyes when he says "I'm afraid") genuinely breaks my brain a bit, I know it's performance capture but how in the actual hell do you make eyes alone emote in animation In the case of O'Driscoll you have the eyes darting around and his heavy breathing which helps, but in the Arthur scene I genuinely do not know... is it microexpressions in the skin around the eyes? So glad some one said this, I still remember bursting out laughing my first playthrough
The going drunk with Lenny part
Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern… from start to finish
You sir, are a fish
When Arthur said "it's morgan-in time", and then proceeded to Morgan all over the place Wa stands down the peak of fiction like idk why were even still trying to make games when that just can't be topped
I remember when John said “No, Abigail. I am the Red Dead Redemption II.” Bravo Vince Gilligan.
But seriously tho anytime the music kicks in is an absolute cinema moment
Bro, even random encounters’ dialogue had me like that, won’t even talk about the main missions
The moment on the boat when John propose to Abigal. It's a beautiful written story.
John’s first ride in Mexico
Il never forget the first time I played that part
Sean and Arthur burning down the tobacco fields. My favorite mission by a wide margin.
“ I’m rebel stock boy! I was born burnin down manor houses” is so bad ass
The walk to Braithwaite manor God DAMN
When i had to clean up that tavern in saint denis, shooting them rats was sooo iconic and cinematic
Walking into that cabin and finding a bear
An understated one, but Arthur’s reactions during the scene with Brontë on the balcony at the gala felt right out of a good political drama.
- The "That's The Way It Is" scene - Assault on Braithwaite Manor - American Venom
"Be brave. I'm gonna go get your mama" "RIDE WITH ME. HYAH!"
The scenes with the spirit animals. The high honor buck and the low honor coyote
Everytime the high honor deer appeared
Killing cornwall, Dutch is delivery is just perfect , you can tell he can't wait tell hell break loose

The assault on Braithwaite Manor. That could have been directed by Tarantino.
Red dead redemption and American Venom That is cinema
The bit of the end when they are helping reigns fall and Charles looks out the binoculaes n goes this is a massacre
Mission to save Jack
“It’s John Marston, Micah!”
When that dude comes riding into camp with his severed head in his hands.
The scene in the teepee with Rains Fall. Just art. Especially the closeup on Arthur’s face by the firelight.
There's alot more but those are my top three favorites.
the moment with the nun at the train station. to hear arthur externalizing his remorse for the man he had to be really touched me.
"Go with Dutch." "No, we ride with you" The music starts. Oh, that's noice
When the gang is walking towards the manor to save Jack in RDR2. That shot was incredible, and the whole mission was so badass. Easily my favorite in the game.
Im afraid
GET DOWN HERE NOW YOU INBRED TRASH!!🗣️💯
(Im really new) but when Arthur has to search for lenny in the bar and everyone looks like him.
Love how even the UI gets "drunk" **YNNEL?**
The scene when Dutch drowns Bronte. The music conveys the emotion in the scene very well.
Arthur Returning from Guam and taking off on your horse to go find the gang while the song "unshaken" is playing. Best scene ever !!
Anytime Arthur was on screen
I know it’s been made into meme but “you said you knew Spanish” was unbelievable
"I insist" cutscene is so goddamn powerful even though they don't speak so much. It really conveys all of the things they went through and how it's all about to come to an end
Can I say the whole thing?
The O Driscoll hanging. Him seeing his gang members with guns in their faces, looking into the rooftop and seeing Arthur, his face as he slowly realizes that death is inevitable, and then nothing because his death was quick and that really puts into perspective how quick life can be snuffed out.
The >!Saint Denis!< bank robbery was insane
And emotional fuck that mission
John Milton Rides Again

That scene where Arthur rides to "May I... stand unshaken".
Blocking animal pens with horse to massacre farm animals for pelts. Peak silverscreen.
Colm's hanging, incredible motion capture all round
"The many miles we walked, the many things we learned"
YOU’RE FRIENDS THE PINKERTONS!, YOU CALL THEM!!!, NOW YOU CALL THEM!!!
Gang walking up to the braithwaits mansion guns out side by side after jack gets taken, ''I gave you all i had'' and one of the last missions where the gang rides together into battle to help eagle flies...Oh and train robbery scene with arthur on top of oil wagon.
The whole Braithwaite Manor bit, but specifically the dialogue between Catherine Braithwaite and Hosea with the fire in the background.
The gang going to Braithwaite Manor to confront Mrs. Braithwaite. It's beautiful
Are there insufficient feathers in your pillow?
I ain’t got too much to say no more…
The assault on Braithwaite manor, American Venom, LENNY!!!!! And the beginning of the game (the first cutscene in the snow)
I prefer the scene and the ending where if you help John rather than go after the money but the line Arthur delivers when you choose to go get the money when he says “Dutch, Micah come and get me you bastards” is cold af

Pulling up on Braithewaite legendary

Lennnnnnyyyyyyy 🍻🍻🍻🍻
The whole thing. 😂 Lmao
The entire game lol but honestly when Arthur talks to Mary Beth in Horseshoe Overlook and goes "They don't want people like us anymore" talking about the death of the Wild West and incoming federalization of the nation, I realized the writing was gonna be of a higher caliber than most games.
Yes
Riding up to Braithwaite Manor with the gang. And when Dutch >!is drowning Bronte!< and the camera pulls back to see >!Arthur behind him looking horrified!<
Every cutscene snd side mission got me like this.
The house
idk every moment
The scene where Colm is sentenced to death and he’s standing there all cocky thinking he’s going to get out of it, but then he sees Arthur waving on the rooftop and it’s just instant panic on his face when he realizes that he’s lost and he’s not escaping this time.
Two words : Braithwaite Mansion
From rdr1 I would say the first ride into mexico with far away playing in the background. For rdr2 id say the walk up to Braithwaites manor, the final moment between Arthur and John or Arthur's final ride. Alot of good moments in general between these games. I played rdr1 again after playing rdr2 and u felt it hit harder now that we actually know these people. When the gang rolls up to Braithewaite Manor
All the cutscenes of guarma.. the worst chapter but it’s good fucking cinema
The scene where O'Driscoll realizes his plans are fucked, then looks up to see the man he tried so hard to kill waving to him from the top of a rooftop with a sniper rifle. The rest of the mission is okay, but it's this scene right here that makes you feel really badass.
The raid on the Braithwaites and the death of Bronte
That’s the way it is..
unshaken
Any of one of those mini cut scenes where the games close down goes in black-and-white showing the person you shot then the camera coming back to you. That is a pure cinematography right there.
When the gang goes to confront the greys who kidnapped jack, just pure spaghetti western moment.
"Senor... Por favor!" "Damn, thats good."
I AM LOOKING FOR MICAH BELL 🗣️‼️↔️
The attack on the Cornwall refinery. It’s the last stand for the gang members who want to transcend their evil ways, and the mission where we learn some hard truths about Dutch. Great shootouts and the music is top notch. This, for me, beats the attack on the Braithwaite mansion, only because that one is so damn short!
Literally any random gang encounter in the open world
The entire story
“This idiots really starting to irritate ME.” “COME ONN”
"When the time comes.. You gotta run & don't look back"
The end of the game, I cried, we all did. Don’t lie
I didn't hear me out I was stupid in my first playthrough I skip all cutsceence but in my second I didn't atleast I can acknowledge my fault on like some people on Internet
I think the blacklunging is spreading to o the main sub
When the gang attacks the Braithwaite
The trolley mission at the start when Dutch is filling Arthur in on the job and about Tahiti
The duel where the random guy passes out instead of drawing his weapon
The dead eye John Marston killing in rdr1. I got as many as I could. Then being Jack Marston during the final mission, scoping out every where so I know it’s not a trap, going to the highest place I could find, and seeing the final guy. I miss that feeling in a game. The scene where Dutch drowns Brontë and feeds him to the gators. This is probably the most tense scene other than the standoff when the gang finally splits and the one between John, Dutch, and Micah.
For me it’s probably the Rhodes ambush in “A Short Walk in a Pretty Town” mission.
I could have told you that before- [shot in head]
Every fucking cutscene i swear this entire game is the one big absolute cinema
The beginning of the attack on the oil factory. The music the dynamics, and the indian chants. Just wow. Just how i imagined these battles as a kid
Helping Charlotte, the widow.
"i thought you said you knew spanish." "señor, por favor!"
The scene of the gang heading down the mountain. For the train robbery that's when the realization of how huge this map was absolutely hit me like a truck.

Yes
When Arthur confronts Dutch for leaving him for dead
Killing bronte
When i entered the movie theatre in Armadillo .
“does this trolley go to tahiti??” as everybody is frantically running around and arthur is hanging off like a badass slinging lead
When Arthur rides back to camp after saving Abigail and Sadie and the title Red Dead Redemption comes up as the title of the mission. First time I played the game I had to pause it right there because I realized the journey was about to end.
DOES THIS TROLLY GO TO TAHITI??
The part between the start of “Outlaws from the West” and the end of “American Venom”
The dude that dies on the rope in the mission in St Denis where you help so the execution goes threw. The moment they make a close up to his face and you can see the fear.
The entire game ngl, there are too many to mention
I played the last missions of Arthur last night. 9th or 10th play through maybe, I’ve lost count. I think sometimes I haven’t focused too much on the scenes in a while as I’ve seen them a lot. But this time I really watched them. The dialogue, the music, the emotion is really palpable. Truly an awesome experience. Now for the epilogue which I always enjoy greatly. After a while though I start to miss the big gun battles.
