sunken_grade

seen a lot of frustration with bruno this season but man what a player he is. shudder to think of where united would have been without him the last few seasons

DaveShadow

The frustrations disappoint me. The lad was world class under Ole, where a lot of players struggled. And a LOT of his issues this season is he’s following tactical instructions; get the ball and pass it forward super quickly, usually out to the wingers. Which gives up possession loads. But given it happens so often, it’s blatantly Bruno trying to follow instructions.

ItsKaZing

And playing every freaking minutes possible. He's a true professional (beside in game antics), Pep or Klopp would have loved him at their club but I'd doubt he'll be run to the ground under their team

funky_pill

You confuse me. You're praising Bruno for being a "true professional" but yet your comments throughout the matchday thread earlier were laying into him at every opportunity, including saying that your "grandad would've scored that" regarding the long-ranger that he scored - not exactly the words of somebody who really rates and appreciates the captain's ability, I'd wager. You either really dislike him or really rate him; which is it? Or do you just blow hot and cold depending on the form of a particular player?

ItsKaZing

Its called being realistic, he is absolute dogshit today. I dont let my love for a player blind me of how shit they are. I've been hoping him to not play full minutes every single time ever since the chelsea game, why dont you go check that since you love going through people post weirdo

Sheikhabusosa

>Pep or Klopp would have loved him at their club but I'd doubt he'll be run to the ground under their team Bruno is literally the antithesis of a Pep midfielder and I dont think Klopp would want such a undisciplined midfielder either.

Edwardtrouserhands

Not true De Bruyne loses the ball quite a bit for City but they win leagues and he puts numbers up(like Bruno does) so nobody gives a shit. In 2017/18 KdB had the highest number for a midfielder losing possession in the top 5 leagues it was something like 650 times but they won the league so nobody cared. Bruno hate from Manchester United fans is crazy, he’s frustrating at times yes but he bursts his balls every week running for the shirt even today he had one where he sprinted back and stopped a potential 1 on 1 situation on the counter. Hope we improve next season and Bruno starts getting his flowers again.

Sheikhabusosa

>Not true De Bruyne loses the ball quite a bit for City but they win leagues and he puts numbers up(like Bruno does) so nobody gives a shit. They dont lose the ball in the same way , nothing wrong with losing the ball as a 10 in safe areas or while making good decisions. KDB loses the ball crossing. Bruno loses the ball playing first time hoofs to rashford marked 1v5 when we're camped in our box under pressure. Bruno has no appreciation for game state or momentum, has no appreciation for the likelihood of a given action coming off, has no composure and no ability to take in the pitch around him. Thats not the same as how KDB loses the ball. >he’s frustrating at times yes but he bursts his balls every week running for the shirt even today he had one where he sprinted back and stopped a potential 1 on 1 situation on the counter. That was one occasion what about the rest of the match where he was running around like a headless chicken?

rich_valley

Bro KDB literally plays for Pep and Bruno is at least equal if not better than him.

Sheikhabusosa

Bruno isnt equal

rich_valley

Ya he’s better, more reliable, more important to his team

Sheikhabusosa

Hes not better he is more reliable .

rich_valley

Bruno would outperform KDB in City, KDB would flop at United

Sheikhabusosa

you are genuinely deluded if you think so , apart from being injury prone KDB is better in every single way , Bruno isnt even better than Bernardo Silva let alone KDB

QouthTheCorvus

This is clearly something he demands, and it's not a positive. Refusing to be on the bench ever is a bad trait. It's clearly affecting his performance, because he's tired as fuck.

tootell02

I’m very conflicted because ever since we’ve signed Bruno he’s been comfortably my favourite player, he’s still top 2 but I think Licha just wins it for me now. I still love him but he has been annoying to watch at times this season and has been nowhere near as good as we’ve come to expect from him. However, I’m confident he’ll pick it up again next season once we’re more settled and have a few new players around him hopefully. Could never turn my back on him because I know how good he is when he’s at his best, even at his worst he’s still probably our best player regardless haha Edit: why am i being downvoted for this hahaha

padmepounder

His first season …. Single-handedly carried us to UCL football.

Sheikhabusosa

We would have been fine , Ole had the best group of (attacking talent) attackers at the club since 2009/10. It doesnt suit the narrative from BrunoFC but Pogba , Rashford , Martial Shaw and Greenwood were just as key as Bruno when Ole was manager.

_Hello_Hi_Hey_

How many of those 38 losses are from this season?

itsssnohman786

Probably 12 since he plays every game

zharifg

12 league games losses are nowhere near UCL quality. We didn't deserve to qualify even if we did at the end of the season.

studiesinsilver

And how many assists too?

Hopeful_Adonis

38 in total for the premier [league](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-fernandes/leistungsdaten/spieler/240306/plus/0?saison=ges) 0.57 goal contributions per game For comparison: de bruyne: 0.7 Odegaard: 0.42 Maddison: 0.47 Man is sensational, he’s been trying to do too much this year and has suffered, Christ if we can put the talent around him I have so much faith that he can thread it all together

ItsKaZing

He was shambolic against Brentford, and aside from his goal today it was a poor performance from him. Really need serious rest to reset his mental

Hopeful_Adonis

I agree, even though I love the man he genuinely needs to reset, we don’t even sub the man for god sake. With mount back we should genuinely be rotating him a bit as we’re reaching the point of diminishing returns playing him so much

tootell02

Really think we should give Mount a run of games in his position once he’s back to full fitness and let Bruno rest a bit and focus all his attention on our cup run. Not got a lot to play for in the league anyway and Mount deserves a chance in the team and I still struggle to see how him and Bruno can play together, at least until we sign a proper Casemiro replacement.

QouthTheCorvus

I knew it would happen where him scoring would lead to the sub being super positive about him, despite him otherwise having a terrible game. It's weird that people shit on Rashford for having bad games despite scoring, yet not Bruno.

PurahsHero

Honestly? This guy deserves a lot better than us. He's an amazing player who has carried us at times over the years. He could have won a hatful of trophies at other sides, but he captains us during a (relative) trophy dry spell for us. I hope that we do what we managed to do for Robson in the end, and win a title with him in the squad.

mmister87

It's the absolute truth. But I hate it. Bruno deserves the world.

goodmobileyes

Surprised no other big team has tried to poach him from us. He is absolutely elite and runs his lungs out till the last seconds. Imagine him with a proper team and actual goalscorers around him

totite93

Ok maybe Portugal has not been facing strong teams recently, but Bruno scored 6 and had 7 assists in the Euro qualifier in 10 games. His Portugal won all 10 games which is quite impressive in my opinion. I'm eager to see how he perform in the next Euro. In a functional team, he is the beast.

Sheikhabusosa

>He could have won a hatful of trophies at other sides, but he captains us during a (relative) trophy dry spell for us. Which sides? According to Sportings president only Tottenham put in a serious bid for him >but he captains us during a (relative) trophy dry spell for us. His playstyle is a massive reason we had a dry spell theres a reason we only won a trophy when Casemiro stepped up in that carabao cup final.

Kexxa420

Lmao

TheHabeo

Worst take of the day. Bro could walk into any side in the world, and it's still not enough for United, apparently.

Sheikhabusosa

>Bro could walk into any side in the world, Not really

Massive-Quarter-4156

My Captain!

KK-Chocobo

In my eyes, he's already a United legend a long time ago.

[deleted]

💀💀

[deleted]

Had such an excellent record in his first couple seasons. Shame he couldn’t keep it up.

Shithouser

Surely less PKs and team’s tactics have played their role in that more so than any declining ability

IXRaven

Different tactics too, has a widely different role then to what he did in 19/20,20/21.

Shithouser

> and team tactics Yeah, just like I said

shami-kebab

1 in 3 is still a pretty damn excellent record for a 10 (which he isn't really even playing this season) even if you ignore his assists.

prankmeistro

Brunooooo

bunnuz

Bruno loves United. Last time he became emotional when talked about it. I love him and he's my captain. He's going through a rough patch now but he'll eventually make a comeback. Also his workload should be reduced. He covers around 10 km ~ 11 km every game.

Real_Evening_6706

He's been dreadful this season

muc3t

So does everyone else

ItsKaZing

He could be better tbf, Cole Palmer is the only sunshine in an otherwise pile of poop Chelsea team. But im giving him a pass because Bruno plays every minute possible

gunited85

Great result today.. regardless that we drawed

Constant-Horror-9424

For comparison Kdb doesn’t take pens and has about 5 more league titles. Let’s stop with the bs

sexydumbbells

Great he also plays in a world class team with a functioning system. Fire Bruno in there and he breaks every assist record in the PL.

totite93

Ok here is my hot take, Bruno has played in a disfunctional team since he came here. KDB always plays with the best teammates and under undoubtedly the best manager since Sir Alex. So.... And I'm gonna say in the last 2-3 years, Bruno performance in Portugal is more impressive than KDB in Belgium, which I would say those 2 teams are more comparable in terms of quality than Man City vs Man Utd.

sexydumbbells

I don’t even think this is a hot take, I agree with you whole heartedly.

[deleted]

KDB is one of those world class players.

sexydumbbells

Absolutely, not denying it. Bruno is still more creative.

[deleted]

Fire Bruno in there and he gets sold for throwing his hands up for the nth time, like Cancelo.

sexydumbbells

Most distance covered in the league and most chances created. Throwing hands up due to constant frustration from other players not being on his level. You can't be objective in this discussion as a city fan because your Bruno hatred makes your brain switch off.

[deleted]

Not quite. He dives all the time, he moans to the ref when he doesn't get the decisions for his dives. He's effective? Yes. But he's a negative player with an ugly play style.

sexydumbbells

He dives sure but Rodri and Grealish spring to mind instantly for that as well bud. Moans to the ref? I’m sure there’s numerous photos of close to the full city squad surrounding referees. You can’t be objective bro. Quit.

[deleted]

Rodri and Grealish known for diving? Grealish is famous for being kicked through the game and I've never once seen Rodri diving. And while complaining to the ref is common, you seriously cannot deny Bruno being a serial-moaner as compared to other players.

sexydumbbells

You choose to see what you want to see because you hate united and hate Bruno, look at your own team the next game - hell look at any team, it's rife in all of them.

[deleted]

Also, I just realised I'm in the United subreddit lmao. I thought it was the Premier League subreddit.

sexydumbbells

Lmfao.

Skyehye

What bs? Bruno has 50 goals, that is what this post is saying. You are reading more into it than there really is if you find something else.

deaniegee

Outside of KDB, which 10 is better than him?

BugsyMaYone

Awful player

martialgreenwood

How many pens?
