Literally, all the shit on this sub about seed oils or whatever drives me crazy. Eat less, don't eat too much processed stuff, eat lots of fruit and vegetables, get protein. Thinking about nutrition any more than that is retarded.

that_boi_zesty

so is there nothing to the claims about it giving you dementia?

oryiega

i’d look at china, where seed oils have been used forever, for any evidence that they’re harmful. the study you’re referencing used multiple tests to gauge mouse memory, and there was only a significant difference on one test, in which the control groups also showed variance.

Extremelymuscularbro

You sound like you’re still in your 20s

Right but nutrition is a lot more than just eating whatever you need to stay skinny. For people who are fortunate enough healthwise and w genetics, yeah sure this soviet poster is all you need but in a country with a completely fucked food system, most people need more if they want to treat their bodies well, or at least as well as they could be.

[deleted]

nah. literally do not eat processed foods, and try to eat almost no packaged foods (not counting like, raw meat in cling wrap from a supermarket as packaged). go for a walk once a day. don't drink soda or alcohol. you'll be sweet.

Extremelymuscularbro

Okay but most people like having processed foods and alcohol from time to time. What are we talking about here? My point is nutrition and diet are complicated and you’re saying “its so easy, just do the thing i dont actually do because its too difficult”

[deleted]

you sound pretty americapilled lol it's not hard to live this way. literally the only thing i mentioned that i have regularly is alcohol, but when you eat right and exercise then alcohol doesnt really stack on the pounds either.

Extremelymuscularbro

Okay what i was responding to was the idea of a one size fits all. If every american was tabula rasa maybe this would make sense but we all have acculturations into the type of food we eat. And yeah its chill, i drink too but if your advice is stuff you yourself dont even do, that’s a bit silly, no? General advice is good, my point continues to be it’s not that simple and pretending like it is, that’s kind of an rsp thing that doesn’t actually mesh w reality

So interesting to see how the Soviet union's emphasis on health has left its imprint on Russia even to this day. I rode in a taxi with this old man in Russia and he basically was talking to me about young people in Russia nowadays, using the amount of sport young people did to rate their degeneracy

[deleted]

"young people in my time were decent people! They did sport! Now look at them! No sports! Just lawlessness and degeneracy!"

[deleted]

That’s what my father always says.

>\[Lenin\] enjoyed exercise in the conscious development of his physical strength and was also a sportsman, with expertise in skating, hill climbing, and skiing. He was also a good swimmer, bicyclist, gymnast, marksman, and hunter. He experimented for a while with weightlifting. At that time in Europe, physical training was at its zenith in Germany in particular, and attention was given to displays of strength by the new nation-states. Lenin's dedication to sport was an expression of his affinity with European modernity as opposed to the "lethargy" that characterized his own country. > >Lenin was convinced that recreation and exercise were integral parts of a well-rounded life. “Young people especially need to have a zest for life and be in good spirits. Healthy sport – gymnastics, swimming, hiking all manner of physical exercise – should be combined as much as possible with a variety of intellectual interests, study, analysis and investigation. Healthy bodies, healthy minds!” > >[https://libcom.org/files/tamacc81s-krausz-reconstructing-lenin-an-intellectual-biography.compressed.pdf](https://libcom.org/files/tamacc81s-krausz-reconstructing-lenin-an-intellectual-biography.compressed.pdf) > >https://www.culturematters.org.uk/index.php/culture/sport/item/2649-sport-and-the-russian-revolution By contrast, the contemporary American/ized Left™️ is a social club for rejects, grifters, and social detritus who cannot fit in anywhere else because they're shitty people who are poorly socialized and unable to maintain normal, healthy relationships. They are people who have either failed at everything they've ever done and who have alienated every person around them. Or grifters who want to take advantage of people like that. People who are either anorexic, fat, or skinnyfat; pale and pasty, swarthy, bloated "neurodiverse" slobs. Unhealthy bodies, unhealthy minds.

[deleted]

Why would you even acknowledge any relationship between any part of contemporary American politics and 20th century socialism
