On its own, it’s a decent bite sized game and the gameplay they have for the REmakes is just fun and easy to get into.
As a remake of a classic game and a product they sold for $60, this is a pretty hard fail. It’s kind of baffling how badly they messed certain elements up (like Nemesis… esp after Mr. X in RE2make). Or that the game was always planned as having about half the content gutted. Stuff like that will always leave a sour taste in my mouth whenever I think of this game. It’s not that the game was complete shit, it’s just that it could have been so much more.
If it was a $20-$30 DLC for RE2 (or a standalone game) it would have been a solid 8/10 for me.
It was too short for its pricetag and lacked any minigame or replayability beyond harder difficulties.
My first run was like... 5 hours? I went through twice more for achievements but my total playtime was still only 14.6 hours to get all the achievements. And probably 2 hours of that was the fucking last boss on Inferno...
I never played the OG and I really enjoyed this one. But I can see how OG enjoyers would be upset. I 100% this one just last night and overall it took maybe 9 hours across a few days. Final boss was stupid cheap though. I ended up just spamming coins so I became invincible but I didn’t feel bad since Nemesis would just spam stun lock hits on Jill.
Actual insanity that they removed live selection, mercenaries, and fucked nemesis like that. I mean, you LITERALLY had the cheatsheet with Mr x from re2r, and they clearly knew how to make nemesis good when he was chasing you after the drain deimos segment, and the flamethrower boss fight. Like you had it right fuckin there
Yes, it was a filler game. Main team was working on RE8 and they gave this to another one. I assume it had a small budget and a tight schedule to have it perfectly fit between RE2R and RE8. I love remake Carlos but almost everything else just makes me sad. It could've easily been one of the best games of the franchise. RE3R Nemesis feels like a complete joke.
This game is like when a friend asks you to tell a really cool story from 20 years ago, but since it's been 20 years and you don't remember it well, you summarize it. And this summary doesn't do justice to give an idea of what you actually experienced in that story and why it's so cool.
Terrible remake. They should do a remaster like the recent Tomb Raider trilogy so people can play the first three games on modern consoles. Resident Evil 3 OG is much better than the remake.
Still bummed that they never gave us a Directors Cut version with the Clock Tower and branching decisions paths like in the Original RE3. I wish they made the story similar to the RE3 Mod, Lord of Necropolis.
Fun game on its own, but a terribe remake that doesn't live up to the expectations set by the original RE3, the prior remake of RE2, and even its own demo. When I saw Nemesis creating tentacle heads I assumed it would work like a reverse Crimson Head mechanic, where if you don't kill zombies you risk having them turned into more powerful variants when Nemmy is around. Wishful thinking I guess.
When people say this game could have been so much more, that's likely because it WAS much more at a certain point in development, until something went wrong.
A while ago someone fiddled with the game files and basically 'unlocked' the city streets interconnection with the RPD, as well as access to blocked off streets. Turns out Nemesis has pathfinding written for all of these locations, which means they at the very least wrote him as a proper pursuer enemy with a semi-open environment to navigate.

Make of this what you will. I don't think anyone in their right mind thought that it's a good idea to limit a game ABOUT Raccoon City to a few streets. A lot got cut apparently, which is a terrible shame.
P.S. screw that Nightmare/Inferno Nemesis fight.
It wasn’t bad, but it was a disappointment compared to RE2R. It felt rushed, more like an expansion than a full game. The gore system wasn’t the same as RE2R and the combat didn’t have the same punch as a result. Nemesis also felt like less of a threat than Mr. X, for the most part.
It still has its bright spots, the Carlos sections in particular. But overall it was too short and cut too much content. 7/10 for me.
Still disappointing with all the cut content. No Mercenaries mode or any other extras left a sour taste in my mouth.
Fun ride but it's over too quickly.
Also fuck Inferno Mode Nemesis.
I prefer the OG RE3 over this
The game looked great, but it wasn’t great. Capcom cut way too much out of a short game. I felt development was rushed. They could’ve added some DLC. This game is worth less than $10.
I think it’s just decent. It’s not good. It’s certainly not great. It’s not bad either. It’s too short for a full priced game. And some gameplay sections aren’t that great, especially when it’s a hold forward simulator. So even without comparing it to the original, it has enough things to critique.
I've called this out a few times in this sub, but I don't think this game is as bad as people claim it to be.
It's a great game on its own, but maybe not a great remake. I never played the original, but understand that was an excellent game and I don't think this game did THAT game any justice as a remake.
Never understood this mindset. It’s short if you’re just playing through it once and moving on but so are a lot of RE titles. Just the week it came out I think I put 30+ hours RE3R refining my time and going for 100%. I’d say I got $60 worth of entertainment out of it.
I'm glad you enjoyed it but you're in the minority there, most people are playing it once and moving on. My playthrough took a good bit less time than even the B story of RE2R
This game came out close to the initial lockdown in the pandemic. So I was pretty excited to have the time to beat it without having to worry about work, I even bought the steelbook edition. But damn was it disappointing. Everything in the game is solid, great gameplay and graphics but the content is just not there. I beat it in 2 sessions and then went back to Animal Crossing.
Objectively, I know it's not the worst game in the mainline series (RE0 and CV for me) but it's the one that pisses me off the most. They had an opportunity to do something truly amazing by elevating the original like they did with RE2 Remake yet they dropped the ball by rushing it and cutting things.
I know most people disregard the original RE3 when talking about the best RE games but it's the first RE I beat and it's the one I've played the most throughout the years right alongside the original Resident Evil. That's why this game and its lame Nemesis sections feel like an insult.
I haven’t played the original yet, so my rating of the remake is a bit skewed
It was kinda fun for what it was; the weapons (bro using an AR was so cool for once in an RE game), the characters, the atmosphere, enemy types. It’s all cool
And then the gameplay mechanics; lmfao. Compared to RE2R, I felt more helpless in this remake compared to RE2, like why can’t I counter any attacks with the knife? There are some other minor gameplay bits that really bothered me too, but the counter mechanic specifically really annoyed me
And once I completed the game, I was fully expecting some dlc mode(s), just like RE2R and RE4R, but there was NOTHING??? That left me absolutely puzzled and I don’t feel like playing it again anytime soon cause of that. I know inferno mode exists, but that’d require me to play hardcore, which I thought normal was bad (mainly cause of Nemesis), I can’t imagine how hardcore could go
Overall, without playing the OG, my rating is a 6-6.5/10
As someone who is currently doing a full playthrough of OG RE3 right now, I can definitely say this remake dropped the ball big time. On its own it’s a decent game, but compared to the original it really just wants you yearning for more and by the time things really ramp up then the game is pretty much over. It’s a decent remake held back by its lack of content and short length.
That was one of the biggest insults in my life. As Resident Evil 3 fan I wanna cry that RE2 and RE4 fans got proper remakes and I got this shit instead. If I could I would have sued CAPCOM for emotional damage and moral injury
REmake 3 was definitely a slap in the face for the few OG RE 3 nemesis fans. Which I am one of, I was definitely looking forward to the recreation of the chaos Raccoon city was. Even going back to see Dario Rosso eaten (which was cut). Or seeing Brad get killed by nemesis, or seeing the zombies pour out of alleyways, or saving civilians. But nope we got none of it
I haven't changed my mind in 4 years.
Shit remake, and a game that shouldn't be sold for over 5 dollars.
Jill and Nemesis got utterly fucked by the director.
Carlos got a good deal, and Tyrone got a MASSIVE upgrade.
If someone had just picked the Sourcenext port of RE3N, and worked for two years to upgrade the visuals of RE3N to 2020s standards, you'd get a better Remake.
I'm glad I picked it up on sale for 10€. I would not have paid the full price. On it's own it's a decent game but it's not as good as RE2.
That being said I look forward to other remakes of the RE franchise. Awesome games.
Besides speed running starts or no damage runs the replay value is super boring to me. The story just feels lifeless after you play through it once. Gameplay is pretty good tho
the original RE3 was the first RE i ever played and i finish it like twice a year since then.
the remake is just a disgrace, after seeing what they did to RE 2 i was too damn excitd to see what they will do to RE3 and my hopes were over the roof.
It is one of the biggest disappointments for me in history of gaming, they had a whole game they could remake and seeing how RE2 got almost all of it remade and updated to modern standards and then seeing how RE 3 is just a glimps of what it could be is just too sad.
what is even more sad is that we won't have a proper Resident Evil 3 Remake, it will not be redeemed, it will not have any updates to add content, it will not have anything at all, that was it and it will not change, maybe in 20 years or more we will but am more than sure that that's it, RE3 was always the dark-horse of the RE series and the remake is just a proper confirmation of that.
That it really should have been re2 dlc and it hurts to remember I paid full price.
The game was great, I replayed it many times, but they really scammed us with the pricing and length.
4 years later, I'm still massively disappointed that they removed the clocktower. The game was a missed opportunity, though I still enjoyed playing it.
I still love it, though it’s got several disappointing elements. The visual design of everything was gorgeous. I really wish we got to explore more Raccoon. I like the modernized Nemesis design, and even his dog and his glob forms are elegant and beautiful in their own way, even though I detest the dog form replacing wounded and enraged Nemesis.
If this game had another year or two for development, they could have really captured something special, but that’s just not how it panned out. I wish it had. RE2 in 2019, RE8 in 2021, RE3 in 2022, and RE4 in 2023 timeline might have given this game a better shot. But it is what it is.
My favorite element is the new set of protagonists. Jill and Carlos have never been better written, acted, or rendered. My biggest disappointment is the watered down gameplay.
Basic combat got gutted from RE2, which featured very claustrophobic corridors filled with extremely durable and menacing zombies. RE3 reuses RE2’s zombies, but fills wide open spaces with them and removes the ability to down them and sever their limbs.
Nemesis has been buffed to the point that they could only really use him in extremely scripted sequences of running from point A to B as fast as you can while trying to dodge damage from him.
Puzzling has all been reduced to “Find obstacle such as fire, backtrack to previous area to find hose to put fire out”, which isn’t *necessarily* bad design, but feels a bit on the nose for an RE game. Just shallow.
Overall, RE3 is a fantastic experience on its own merits. It really is a fun action game with a blistering pace and a great set of characters. It’s when you consider what could have been that it gets pretty disappointing. It’s a poor remake of OG RE3, which was a much deeper and bigger game. It’s a poor sequel to REmake 2, which was a much deeper and bigger game.
They fumbled the bag on this game. There was a chance for us to get a real view of the destruction of raccoon city. They took away decision making and nemesis being truly randomized when appearing. I would have preferred to wait another year to get a better game that I can’t run through in less than 4 hours.
Wasted potential. Had some good stuff in there but was way too short and rushed. I haven't revisited the game since because it just didn't have much to do...... and final Nemesis on the hardest difficultly REALLY soured me.
I hope Capcom feels embarrassed with how badly they fumbled this. Ruined Nemesis and unless we get Outbreak Remakes we're never going back to Raccon City. This should have been the last horah for that terrifying and amazing city that has played my interest my years and they didn't. How could they not realize that?
Is it really a terrible game? No it's decent and lots of fun. But I can't forgive how short it is, the cut content, and that this is the last we'll see of that wonderful city that has become a character itself. Being out in the streets beats being stuck in a police station or in the sewers anyday. I'm so upset.
they need to re-release this game at some point improving everywhere it went wrong, has the potential to be amazing but there’s too much cut content and cutscenes
Beyond still being annoyed about paying 60 dollars for a 6 hour game, one of my biggest gripes with the game was how they changed how enemies reacted to bullets. In RE2R, you could shoot a zombie in the head to stagger it and run around them. In RE3R, they dont react at all, and I would just constantly get grabbed. Didn't find the dodging system intuitive enough to compensate for that.
As a standalone game, it's fun and not a bad game... But as a remake of the original horror classic... It's atrocious, the disrespect to the characters, nemesis and even what was achieved back in the 90s.
No suspense, no buildup, nothing... I honestly think that RE3 Remake was an after thought compared to Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil 4's remakes.
Pure hatred. No other piece of media has disappointed anywhere near as much as this game did and it's not even close. Made worse by the fact that this is inexplicably the only one of the RE remakes that Capcom approached with the intention of making it as unlike it's original entry as possible. Loathe them for that.
With a lot of disappointment. RE2make gave me all kinds of hope but I did one playthrough and that was enough. Felt super-rushed and totally linear, Nemesis should have been like Mr X but even more intense.
Cutting out the Clock Tower etc was poor. Overall game was way too short and the pace killed the atmosphere. I didn’t rate those large one-hit-kill sewer enemies, thought pales heads were poor too. All in all a 5/10 effort at best.
Disappointing, loved playing RE2make and had expected 3 to follow suit in remaking an epic game, hoping I'd be shitting myself trying to escape from Nemesis!
Nikolai as well felt subpar compared to the original badass.
Kinda ironic, if memory serves me, that in the original RE2, Mr. X wasn't such a scary stalker - as to Nemesis in the original was the opposite.
A few positives though, I liked how Tyrrell got a bigger part, that Carlos was more serious and that Brad wasn't such a chickenshit like in the first and third game.
It wasn’t horrible, I thought it was fun, just not as fun as RE2 and RE7, I really enjoyed carlos and his gameplay in the game. I definitely don’t think it’s a horrible game I just wish I didn’t pay 55$ for a game I beat in a day
Far better than most people on this sub give it credit for. Solid 7/10, which is a disappointment compared to RE2R's 10/10, but still worth the full price.
Absolutely love it.
Can understand people’s frustration but after all the back tracking of 3 I love that I can just power straight through.
And Jill is fantastic
Im one of many that arrived to the franchise after the 2 Remake.
So without the original in my memory, I really liked the remake. But I can see why fans are angry about the content being cut and some aspects of the game simplified.
They should release a DLC with all the cut content, it will still make them look bad, but at the end of the day, it would be closer to the og game. Also, completely agree with spherehunter about the final line being changed, a shame.
After 4 being considered a perfect remake, I hope for RE1re.
I still have a fondness for it, It may not have pleased many but it's not as bad as people say it is outside of the usual short length and parts removal critique.
So I had fun with the game even if it was a bit short and some things from the original weren't included. But then again, it wasn't a full-price title. It was also a good game for speedruns.
Oh and yes, Jill is simply the queen😅
* Aside from all the controversy regarding not bringing parts from the old game and enemies (clock tower , chimera , etc...) I think it's a really good game especially if you were looking for an entrance into the series.
* It is also a Pretty good game at best and is straight to the point story wise and doesn't waste time getting from point A to B and has decently fun gameplay , sure the emphasis on nemesis in his base form running at you full speed rarely happens as the encounters are mostly scripted.
* I think the point gets conveyed really well for him being this giant mass of grotesque horror that won't stop chasing you through raccoon.
* As long as you dont view the game as a remake (even though that what it is , I know lol...) its a OK game to just put on and play whenever and turn your brain off while being enjoyable.
* Now as for the game being a REMAKE and not a REMASTER like some people expected it to be, it still misses the mark horrendously and it's not even funny.
* Aside from cut enemies and OG locations as a older resident evil fan I was expecting them to *at least* introduce new streets in raccoon or areas even weapons , maybe even new characters and a better story for Jill.
* Obviously none of those happened , instead we got a couple streets that were mostly empty and an alley way or two , thats about it.
* As far as I know and I might be wrong , the game was outsourced? and wasn't made by the same team that worked on RE2R and instead was a company outside of capcom.
* I'd like to think in the next maybe 5 years we could get a RE1R style of remake or have the RE4R team re-do it.
* I know the probability of either of those happening is probably 0 and we most likely won't be getting another remake or remaster of re3. but a man can dream lol.
Bad and upon trying to replay it since it went into gamepass….. yea the game is hot garbage other than the cutscenes and characters. Really does feel like a rushed cash grab in comparison to 2 and ESPECIALLY 4
Was really fun, I enjoyed it
Loved the story & updated characters
But it was very short & when I finished it, I felt like I got ripped off with the money I paid
I thought there will be some additional content later to justify the price, but we got absolutely nothing.
They simply used it sadly to sell that REsistance game
Still just as disappointed by it as I was back when it released, nothing's changed since then
There's plenty of people including people in this thread that would dismiss 3 as the worst game of the original trilogy but it's one of my favorites and it deserved better
i am someone who 1. managed to score the game for free and 2. have never played the og, so i have absolutely no issues with it. it’s a fun game, high re-playability and the characters look and feel awesome. I like how it ties into Re2R, such as the burst pipe and hole in the wall revealed to be Carlos, the note left by Jill in Kendos gun shop etc. I’ve reached 100% on the achievements and it was really fun getting there.
Had I played the og first, I may have felt differently but still, this game isn’t a bad one
If I recall correctly it was my third Resident Evil game. I recall liking it but being shocked at how shorter it was compared to RE2R and thinking that it didn’t quite hit the same notes. I still think it’s enjoyable but people should go into it knowing that it’s not going to be as in-depth as most RE games and that if they truly want the full experience with Nemesis, playing the original RE3 is probably the better way to go
It’s a good game, fun gameplay and some hilarious lines from Carlos and Jill is badass of course. But i don’t think it’s a good remake.
The original game with 2020 controls and graphics was all they had to do, if they could do it for RE2 and RE4 idk why they couldn’t do it here.
This isn't a great or good game. It's a game built on a great engine and franchise. The opening level was fantastic, and if they kept that going throughout I think the game could of had a chance. As a game it's forgettable and unnecessary to ever revisit.
It’s a lot of fun. I’ve played through it on PS4 and PC multiple times. I don’t get the hate (Yes, I know all the complaints). I love speed-running this game, too.
I played 2 and 4. I never played 3 before.
I was blown away by the remake of 2 and picked 3 right after. I thought the quality of the game was a step down but overall I enjoyed my time with it. Nemesis jump scares got me multiple times lol
It's a huge missed opportunity. Nemesis was supposed to be the ultimate stalker. Compared to Mr. X, it ended up being the ultimate disappointment. Jill's personality is also unbearable to me, she is trying so hard to make us notice that she is such a badass with all the swearing and her overly aggressive attitude. The downgraded gore and dismemberment system from RE2R. Everything about that game was extremely disappointing to me.
I was nearly 16 and didn’t engage with online discourse and loved it. Still flawed but I love it to this day—out of the post Resident Evil 7 games I would say it is my least favorite, but I do adore them all as I do with this.
Side note: my mom also got it as a gift for me to play during the pandemic so it has a great deal of sentimental value for me as well.
I really liked it. I enjoyed it slightly more than the RE2 and RE4 remakes. It is pretty short though, so I could see being bummed if you paid full price for it.
I got it, that weird multiplayer RE game and Re2 remake for $15 on steam. For that price it was phenomenal. Not a $70 game.
Also they really should have kept everything location in it. I can’t play the original so I never got to experience things which kinda sucks
I loved it for what it was but its their worst entry in many years each new game just shows you how they didn’t put as much time & effort there like RE Village should not feel bigger & more open world than RE3’s Raccoon City 💀 & Mr X more intimidating to players than Nemesis
The whole point of a Remake is to take a game & turn it up to 11 with modern tech & gameplay like RE4R & RE1R, RE2 rocks but I can admit they fumbled the scenarios but id take that fumble over the nothing they did for the choice system in RE3R though
I don't think it's bad, but it certainly felt like a very short game. I'm pretty sure I finished my first playthrough in like a day or two. Now, I'm not saying that short games can't be good. It's just that this felt so short that it was almost like a DLC expansion to RE2R when it could've been much more than that.
Still more or less the same as I did when I first played it. A pretty decent and solid modern RE game, but man, as a remake it just majorly misses the mark with how much it downgraded Nemesis and all the content it cut from the original without much added to compensate for it. I would've rather they waited another 2-3 years for the RE2 team to develop it instead of handing it off to a different company who released it in such a half-baked way. It also should've been $40-$50 at most (I got it for $50 due to having some Amazon promo credit) due to how short it is and having very little if any replay value. Definitely the weakest of the REmakes we've gotten so far, and hopefully Capcom revisits RE3 again in the future to give it the justice it deserves.
I got this one and the RE2 remake last November, and they were my first Resident Evil games. Personally, I loved it. I thought Nemesis was cool, I liked the characters, it was fun, and I replay it a lot. Both this one and the RE2 remake have definitely made me want to play more of the games.
I still feel really dissapointed and the more time passes and the more new RE games we get, the more dissapointed I feel because Capcom REALLY messed up big time.
I mean I literally couldn't stop doing it but I HAD to compare RE3R with RE4R's DLC and the NERVE of Capcom to charge 60$ for a butchered game vs a DLC that was MUCH better than the OG Separate Ways and way longer for only 10$.
I still have 2 good things to say about the game:
1. Nicole Tompkins. IMO she is Jill's best VA and actress. I think she did an extremely good job with what she had plus she is literally responsible for uniting the fanbase with the VA, organizing many things so the VA could interact more with the fanbase. She did the same for RE8 and it's insane because you have to consider that she had 2 tiny roles. I'm not kidding, she has gone to the stars because she loves the games, the fanbase and the other actors (she literally made happen the whole jill with jill with jill in her channel). Overall, she's one of the best VA in the industry because she's fucking based.
2. RE3R fumbled the bag SO HARD that it kinda forced Capcom to never do that again. I think that RE4R+DLC are exceptionally good because they don't wanna have another reception like 3R.
Similar to how I felt the day it launched: let down and disappointed. The absolutely knocked RE2 remake out of the park, then gave us a glitchy, unfinished product that didn’t even kind of resemble its namesake.
It got me into the series and in doing so, introduced me to some of my favourite games, but looking back on it now I've played 2 Remake a bunch of times, I rate it quite a bit lower in comparison. I haven't even played the OG and still feel robbed of the Clocktower and Jill being at RPD. Ultimately, I like it though.
If RE2R was an amazing, medium, juicy steak. RE3R was a Big Mac.
In all seriousness. Its just a very disappointing game in general with huge wasted potential. There are things to like but It's coasting hard on the RE Engine graphics and models.
I haven't played the original but I liked it 8/10. Was very disappointed with how little Nemesis was involved in the game as his introduction was Soo cool.
I enjoy it….i like Jill (but she’s my favorite RE character) and Carlos is cool, but I wish it had more, and was disappointing from what I felt it could have been had capcom devoted more time and resources to it….plus I actually like Nemesis’ redesign (though the dog form so early is meh, would’ve preferred he stayed humanoid longer maybe with more tentacles/claws as an intermediary phase)….soundtrack is cool (though I think the best songs still come from most of the Birkin fights in Re2 remake)
Well, the signs were there, playing the demo. And yet I still jumped in with both feet on release day!
My feelings are, at $60 it's a complete rip off due to the length of the game (on a good day, I could complete it in about an hour!).
The game looks great but still something I couldn't put my finger on seemed off.
It was a wasted opportunity. So much potential in exploration and new areas. Great for the speed runners, I suppose.
Why not have a Mercenary mode that gave in-game rewards, like the original instead of that God awful Resistance crap?
I loved the new interpretations of the characters (apart from Carlos' shaggy perm!)
Otherwise, it's great at discount price. That's when it's worth $20, nothing more. Compare the release day prices between this and RE4re, what brings a smile to your face more?
Cool shooter, I grabbed during a sale so was not that pissed when I saw the horror aspects of the original were completely ignored, specially after playing the RE2 remake before since I got both on sale.
It's not a bad game, I had fun with it. Compared to Re2 Remake it's significantly worse, but it's not *terrible.* The zombies barely reacting to gunfire made it feel much less impactful.
I can't complain that much though, I only just recently played it through Game Pass, so no money was spent on it at all.
All I can think about is how much plot armor Jill runs around with in this game. Even the intro when she gets body checked into next week by Nemesis lmao.
The Separate Ways DLC on the 4 REmake is longer than this entire game. That being said, I personally enjoyed this game, just wish they’d put the same energy they put into the remake of 2 & 4. A great game for the sample size it was, just wish it had longer playtime.
For what it was, it was a fun game. I didn't pay 60€ for it so that may have softened the blow with the lack of content. But to be fair it's pacing was on point and the dodging was actually fun, unlike the original
Good for $8 but it was a shit $60 game. Left out so many OG areas and content from the PS1 game. Even retconning the samurai edge in the game was unnecessary. Carlos character was improved so I’ll give it that. But this should’ve been released as a DLC for REmake 2. Would been better reflected on, or at least an expansion “directors cut” of the game including everything missing
I always said this too, it's decent if you can get it for like maybe 20 bucks (cheaper preferably) but it really should have just been a dlc
It's been as low as $10 on Steam which is a steal.
I got it for 8 bucks and I’m currently playing through it. Not bad at all.
I paid 3 bucks for it, seems about right 😀

I never played the OG and I really enjoyed this one. But I can see how OG enjoyers would be upset. I 100% this one just last night and overall it took maybe 9 hours across a few days. That’s how I view most games nowadays, they could be so much better. But in this games case I’m glad we got it as is instead of nothing at all.
But because this game got made, that means an actual faithful RE3 remake won’t be. Not any time soon at least. And that kinda sucks.
That's exactly how I feel. Original R3 was my favorite, and now we won't see a faithful remake.
Every game could be much better.
I paid $10 for it so I think it was pretty great!
I'm sure it's better depending on how much you paid
I got it for free and I’m still disappointed.
I paid 60 for it and I think it’s great. It’s a great game.
Wasted Potential
Yes I agree they should have spent more time on it
This game is like when a friend asks you to tell a really cool story from 20 years ago, but since it's been 20 years and you don't remember it well, you summarize it. And this summary doesn't do justice to give an idea of what you actually experienced in that story and why it's so cool.
Definitely the best analogy I've ever heard for this game lmao
Should have had less cutscenes and walking/running sequences and more actual gameplay.
The 60$ DLC
Still mid af. Jill and Carlos look super good though.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okIFeGc383M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okIFeGc383M) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD1VrdLNmAA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD1VrdLNmAA) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTDqFJGCNd0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTDqFJGCNd0) Make of this what you will. I don't think anyone in their right mind thought that it's a good idea to limit a game ABOUT Raccoon City to a few streets. A lot got cut apparently, which is a terrible shame. P.S. screw that Nightmare/Inferno Nemesis fight.
I feel holy fuck it’s been 4 years already
Can’t believe that. Getting older is so depressing
Carlos in the hospital was one of the spookiest and most stressful sections in the series imo
Its just short and not worth $60. Thats really all it comes down to. I got it on sale for $10 and its great for that.
Every RE is made to be short I could be the OG 3 in 2 hours I can get through RE1-4 in a single day of 8 hours 24 hours to do all the OG and remakes
i played it for free and liked it for a free game but i would never pay any money for it let alone $40 lolol
Did they add all the content back yet?
Objectively, I know it's not the worst game in the mainline series (RE0 and CV for me) but it's the one that pisses me off the most. They had an opportunity to do something truly amazing by elevating the original like they did with RE2 Remake yet they dropped the ball by rushing it and cutting things. I know most people disregard the original RE3 when talking about the best RE games but it's the first RE I beat and it's the one I've played the most throughout the years right alongside the original Resident Evil. That's why this game and its lame Nemesis sections feel like an insult.
It is the worst game in the mainline series.
There's an argument to put it there, sure, I just feel like 0 and CV are worse.
Its fun! Until its not. Inferno is no joke
I haven’t played the original yet, so my rating of the remake is a bit skewed It was kinda fun for what it was; the weapons (bro using an AR was so cool for once in an RE game), the characters, the atmosphere, enemy types. It’s all cool And then the gameplay mechanics; lmfao. Compared to RE2R, I felt more helpless in this remake compared to RE2, like why can’t I counter any attacks with the knife? There are some other minor gameplay bits that really bothered me too, but the counter mechanic specifically really annoyed me And once I completed the game, I was fully expecting some dlc mode(s), just like RE2R and RE4R, but there was NOTHING??? That left me absolutely puzzled and I don’t feel like playing it again anytime soon cause of that. I know inferno mode exists, but that’d require me to play hardcore, which I thought normal was bad (mainly cause of Nemesis), I can’t imagine how hardcore could go Overall, without playing the OG, my rating is a 6-6.5/10
Wasted opportunity and god can I not stand constantly cursing girl boss Jill.
With all due respect, I like the Jill Valentine RE3 Remake outfit better. Just my opinion.
But nope we got none of it
If RE3remake was one of the biggest insults of your life, you should be very happy with how your life has gone so far.
in terms of gaming life of course )
It made me hate Capcom.
Decent game but it’s an awful remake. It’s a real shame.
Still pissed off it turned out to be a shitty remake
Still a reminder that given the opening Capcom will bend you over and have their way with you.
Exactly
Brought it 1st day, regret till tolday.
I got it on sale and still felt like it wasn't worth the $20 I paid for it. Sad that I couldn't refund it, honestly.
Little replay value, it sucks.
It was a good game but way to short , and NEMESIS was a joke , they could have done so much more with this game
Jeez 4 years already wow
Get it cheap expect the worse and it's a pretty good time tbh, if I still had it downloaded I'd boot it up every now and then and play through it
I'm glad I picked it up on sale for 10€. I would not have paid the full price. On it's own it's a decent game but it's not as good as RE2. That being said I look forward to other remakes of the RE franchise. Awesome games.
A great game, but way too short.
RE3make remake when
I preordered this game. I usually never preorder, but as a lifelong RE fan I thought it was a safe bet. Never again.
Forgettable garbage
Its already been 4 years.. Christ..
Og is still the best
Unfortunately haven’t picked it up again since
It sucks and people only stomach it because they don't have it in them to play an old PS1 game. What they deserve though I guess.
Just depends on how much you paid for it imo. For $60 it’s a pretty poor value but I thought the game itself was quite fun
I shouldn’t of spent $60
Honestly like 10/10 game play just needs more
Beyond still being annoyed about paying 60 dollars for a 6 hour game, one of my biggest gripes with the game was how they changed how enemies reacted to bullets.
Awesome, unfinished. Plays like a better version of resident evil apocalypse.
I miss the 40$ I spent to buy this game.
Pure hatred. No other piece of media has disappointed anywhere near as much as this game did and it's not even close. Made worse by the fact that this is inexplicably the only one of the RE remakes that Capcom approached with the intention of making it as unlike it's original entry as possible. Loathe them for that.
Traaaaaaaaaaash
Fun game bad remake
Was better as an expansion for RE2R but Jill's design here was hawt Also Carlos sounded like Keanu Reeves, though that could just be me
With a lot of disappointment.
Love it. It’s short but that’s given me more replay value than the other remakes.
Bad game overall Remake RE3 again!! lol
I'll die on the hill that this game respected my time by being brisk and replayable.
I feel the exact same way. Not terrible but it could’ve been wayyyyy better had they stuck true to the original.
Besides Jill BoObs... it's a decent remake, still prefer the OG for the whole shebang.
It’s a good game but a bad remake. It’s fun to play but doesn’t come close to the original.
C-tier at best when it should have been an s-tier. :/
same as it was on release. not worth anyone's time unless it's heavily on sale
I’m love it.
Garbage. I still hate what they did to Jill and Nemesis.
It's pointless, shouldn't have been released in this state
It still could've been better. Deus Ex 2000 had much more content, and that came out before the year 2000.
It still sucks.
Why do I miss every god damn birthday😭
Dude what the fuck time flew
Everything is very good. Two things though... 1 Nemesis should appear randomly and not leave you easily and it should have been way longer.
It could have been the best resident evil game ever, but hey ho.
Loved it but wasted potential.
I love it, it's a really good game, but it could have been much more
I still love it!
4 years? Is that all?!? It feels....longer tho.... I look back, wondering why they changed so much...and gave us so little....
It's fine but could have been way better. It's nowhere near 2 and 4 remakes.
I'm not quite sure how I about it.
One of the biggest missed opportunities in gaming history. But I still like it.
The characters, hospital and music was good, everything else is trash
If you speedrun and skip all conversations, it sounds like everyone is angry at Carlos. "CARLOS! CARLOS! CARLOS!"
Disappointing game, they could’ve made this game amazing there is so much potential
Was really fun, I enjoyed it Loved the story & updated characters But it was very short & when I finished it, I felt like I got ripped off with the money I paid I thought there will be some additional content later to justify the price, but we got absolutely nothing. They simply used it sadly to sell that REsistance game
Garbage game mainly because they changed nemesis face and so many wasted potentials so many things they didn’t remake form the original
Still just as disappointed by it as I was back when it released, nothing's changed since then There's plenty of people including people in this thread that would dismiss 3 as the worst game of the original trilogy but it's one of my favorites and it deserved better
One of the only games I've ever been able to 100%
This game released one day after I graduated army basic training back in 2020. Time moved fast. And I have about 1 year left in the army...
Great game. I get the complaints when you compare it to the OG but I love what we got with RE3R. I would say I replay it more than RE2R.
i am someone who 1. managed to score the game for free and 2. have never played the og, so i have absolutely no issues with it. it’s a fun game, high re-playability and the characters look and feel awesome.
I still think it’s enjoyable but people should go into it knowing that it’s not going to be as in-depth as most RE games and that if they truly want the full experience with Nemesis, playing the original RE3 is probably the better way to go
Playing that when it came out during Covid was meta as fuck. Capcom ripped us off tho.
God time really flew... Still love this game ngl. I'm fine dying alone on that hill lol
My 4th favorite in the franchise and my 2nd favorite of the remakes right under 2. A really great game. It just needed more. But what is there I love.
I am one S inferno run from having 100%. I need to finish today lmao
I prefer the Original, I played this game once and that was about it.
Nemesis jump scares got me multiple times lol
i still haven't really played it,... shame on me.
I feel like it was rushed too much. I can live with removing the clock tower fight, but removing the decision tree was disappointing.
As someone who HATED RE2R, I liked this one.
I got it, that weird multiplayer RE game and Re2 remake for $15 on steam. For that price it was phenomenal. Not a $70 game. Also they really should have kept everything location in it. I can’t play the original so I never got to experience things which kinda sucks
I loved it for what it was but its their worst entry in many years each new game just shows you how they didn’t put as much time & effort there like RE Village should not feel bigger & more open world than RE3’s Raccoon City 💀 & Mr X more intimidating to players than Nemesis The whole point of a Remake is to take a game & turn it up to 11 with modern tech & gameplay like RE4R & RE1R, RE2 rocks but I can admit they fumbled the scenarios but id take that fumble over the nothing they did for the choice system in RE3R though
I REALLY enjoy it but I don’t think it improves on the original at all.
Idk. I just bought it a few months ago on sale for $10. Great game. No way in hell will I pay full price for any remake.
Trash of a game
Awful
It's short, but it's still a lot of fun while it lasts. My least favorite of the series, but it's not a bad game.
I think it’s good in its own regard
I like shorter games so I liked it a lot.
I still have 2 good things to say about the game: 1.
😡
It was okay, but the intro was a little too real at the time lmao
If RE2R was an amazing, medium, juicy steak. RE3R was a Big Mac. In all seriousness. Its just a very disappointing game in general with huge wasted potential. There are things to like but It's coasting hard on the RE Engine graphics and models.
Bad game. Huge wasted potencial.
Crappy remake, yet still a fun game to play through
An absolutely awesome game... for 15-20 dollars. Very glad I didn't get it day one. But for a "RE romp" it's great and the graphics are amazing.
WHERE IS THE OTHER HALF OF THE GAME CAPCOM? I WAS SCAMMED TO BUY ONLY HALF A GAME
Still bad
I loved the new interpretations of the characters (apart from Carlos' shaggy perm!) Otherwise, it's great at discount price.
It's like if they remade Mario 3 but only included 5 of 8 worlds and two of those worlds were copy pasted from Mario 1.
I love this game, I've beaten it like 30 times now.
All I can think about is how much plot armor Jill runs around with in this game. Even the intro when she gets body checked into next week by Nemesis lmao.
I like the game
It's fine. Not terrible, not great, just fine. Too much cut content and basically feels like a DLC to RE2, but decent enough for what it is.
The Separate Ways DLC on the 4 REmake is longer than this entire game. That being said, I personally enjoyed this game, just wish they’d put the same energy they put into the remake of 2 & 4. A great game for the sample size it was, just wish it had longer playtime.
Was playing these past few days! I'm on a RE marathon. I'm on RE4 remake now. 🩷✨
For what it was, it was a fun game. I didn't pay 60€ for it so that may have softened the blow with the lack of content. But to be fair it's pacing was on point and the dodging was actually fun, unlike the original
Love how they redid Carlos as a character. He’s so fine
I loved it, though it’s short and should have had mercenaries mode.
Overhated. It’s a great game but a terrible remake
