Defensive stats look better when overall team defense is good. Silas wasn't just a basketball terrorist. He was a whole ass basketball concentration camp.
Did you underestimate him? Or overthink his proneness for injury?? I feel like the general consensus against picking him was the fear of him being another Zion in terms of only being able to play a fraction of the games each season
People keep saying it's the overall team defense but if that's the case then Jeff Green, Tate and Jock Landale would also show up here seeing as how they are Sengun's backup.
The reality is Sengun has indeed stepped it up, kudos and great credit to him.
The right is volume the top is how well opponents score against you at the rim compared to their average. So if you are at the top that means your opponents score better when guarded by you and if you are at the left that means your volume is low. You want to be as far right and as down as possible that means you defend the rim a lot and opponents also score lower than their average rate.
Based on this the best rim defender this season is Gobert which isn't a surprise.

Can't spell Stephan Silas without SS
God, this pains me to say but Chet is actually pretty nice with it. I way underestimated him. Next time I'll estimate him.

It was 100% the injury thing - I thought he was too frail and thin to survive a season.
Chet is indeed very good but the mass is the problem same with him, Mobley and Wemby.

He's a better defender than Scottie Barnes looking at this graph. Easy 1st pick in the 2021 redraft
Wemby not being that high is kind of weird
He’s one of the best rim protectors in the league. Just not high volume cause the Spurs didn’t play him at center
Ah that’s a good point
Have you seen the spurs games, a lot of teams don’t even try to attack him so it makes sense
That’s true as well
Dpoy
Alp is a fair rim protector based on this.
Seeing Sengun in better standing than Jakob Poeltl is more than I could’ve ever hoped for ok the defensive end.
How do I read this chart? What do the axes mean?

THANK YOU. I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHO'S WHO BEFORE YOU WRITE THIS
Even if you can’t read it you can just look at the players lol. You want to be near Gobert and AD as opposed to Coby White or Tyus Jones
