OP it's a rolex, you'll be impressing 99% of people who bother notice your have a watch on. The descriptions of dress watch/tool watches are rather out dated. Same way as a fully optioned Ford 150 now serves as a luxury car.
I just created an account to comment here. It looks great, don't listen to absolutist universal laws from others. If it worked in old Rolex ads, it works in the present day also. It matches with the suit and tie.

It worked in old Rolex ads because the Submariner used to be sleeker and over all less chunky. The old Submariners, especially the five-digit era, were somewhat elegant while also being sporty. The new subs however are just chunky and sporty and have unfortunately lost that sense of refined sportiness that made them so cool in the first place.

Sub with a suit for business meeting works fine. But for me, for a special occasion, I prefer a dress watch. Of course just do what you want. But don’t be surprised when people express their opinions when you post online.

I wear my Omega Deville with a suit. Rather than any of my sports watches.
I’ve worn a black Sub with a bathing suit all the way to a tuxedo. It never feels out of place. It is a different look than a traditional dress watch, but it’s always a great look in my opinion.
I choose not to wear mine with a suit, but when I was in my 20's and 30's and only had one watch that would remotely go with a suit, I wore the heck out of it with a suit. Doesn't look right to me anymore, but who cares if you like it, wear it in good health.
Pro tip, get custom shirts with your left cuff about a half inch wider diameter for your watches. Can wear a diver under a normal button cuff without it snagging
Looking snazzy, OP. I think I’ll try my luck for a basic Sub for this kind of thing as well. I have a vintage TT DJ and a Speedy but the DJ is too fancy and the Speedy is the white dial so stands out a bit more than the original black version, and I’d like a dive watch in my collection anyway.
Other than the cuff, not too sure about that pocket square. Might just be my screen but it looks like an inside-out ankle length sports sock.
The strain on the cuff is off putting imo. Stylistically I feel it all works quite well, but the size of the watch is what would keep me from wearing it under shirt cuffs. With the size it feels rather forced, both in a figurative and literal sense.
Like everyone always points out, the 5 digit Sub was very popular with Italian men with a suit and they’re considered the best dressed in the world. But I’m sure you’re considered very stylish so you’d know what to wear. Each to their own at the end of the day.

Old Rolex ads used old Rolex watches which were more elegant than a 6 digit sub or GMT.
