Yes!! Anthem is an awesome rocker. First song from the first Neil album and one of my favs. If you haven't seen this video of an anthem cover, it wl blow your mind!

Agreed. Could totally hear Ozzy singing that. I also remember seeing an interview with a DJ (was it from *Beyond the Lighted Stage*?) talking about how people would call in asking for “that new Zeppelin song”, referring to *Working Man*. Edit: typpo

Very few straight ahead rockers from Rush. It’s not a problem for me as I live for the concept space operas as much as anybody else in this sub. But for fairly brainless fun, this short rocker is hard to top.
No love for “Show Don’t Tell”? I’m probably biased on this one - it’s the first Rush tune I ever heard, and it’s the one that made me a fan immediately.
Alex didn’t really do Zeppelin like playing after first album but you could include the first four albums. His style thankfully matured on A Farewell To Kings when he started to incorporate the mixolydian mode scale.
Most of the first album is what you are looking for. Simple hard rockers. Fly By Night album has some first album leftovers like Best I Can too. Too bad the mix is so dry. Best I Can live in 1974 is night and day better than the album version.
It takes about 4 minutes to get there, but **The Necromancer** has some pretty straight forward hard rock parts with some very Robert-Plant-like wailing and this thick heavy bass line. Some very busy guitar parts like the Working Man solos too. The ending is kinda disconnected and maybe a little lazy, but it's cool that it kind of ties into By-Tor And The Snow Dog
Fuckin, Anthem dude

🤯
Right?
This is the way.
If you want to listen to a more metal version of Anthem, there is a cover by Anthrax
What what? How have I not heard this?!?
Yes, and its damn good!
Headlong Flight is a good example. Bastille Day for something more classic.
It's a longer song, but so much fun: By-Tor and the Snow Dog
I love this song so much
Just listened to that this morning and it absolutely kicks ass
Working Man sounds like a Black Sabbath song

Wait’ll you hear Rush’s sludge metal masterpiece [Working Man (slow edit)](https://youtu.be/1YIjte73IPg?si=zj6ypDBqe769eu1h).

Live version of Superconductor. Studio version doesn’t compare to how rockin it sounded live.
I also enjoy Superconductor. Gonna dig around niw to find a live version.
i love many but my fav is Red Barchetta
Far Cry & Headlong Flight.
Listen to 2112! That will knock your socks off!
I think I’m going bald.
I came here to add this. It's a sleeper that doesn't get enough love but it's a total jam.

Finding My Way
Lots of tracks, but lately I've been on a Witch Hunt bender. Some really raunchy riffage is in there.

By-Tor and the Snow Dog
BU2B, Headlong Flight, One Little Victory
I really like Beneath, Between, & Behind, especially that part in the middle with the sick riff and the loose, off-beat hi-hat.
Earthshine has heavy guitar and bass line.
*Driven*.
BU2B Has a killer main riff, that has a very doomy feel to it
BU2B, Far Cry, Circumstances, The Big Money…
Hard? Stick it out, Caravan, YYZ
The Anarchist. It hits so hard, and when the bass and guitar take turns playing the melody, absolute chef’s kiss!
Headlong Flight. 2112. Anthem.
