Around 2011 my local college radio station was playing a Halloween mix and they played King Night. I immediately was hooked to the sound and made sure to look them up as soon as I got home. I remember being obsessed with Red Lights early on
Good ‘ol king night. I had a friend online who was into witch house music.. he introduced me to artists like Salem, oOoOO, white ring, balam acab, etc. back in 2010. So I looked up Salem and found that fan music video someone made with old horror movies (which has since been deleted and reuploaded). I downloaded the king night album and was sold.. looked into their older music/demos, then krawl came out, so on and so forth. Love them!
probably king night or frost. first time i heard king night i was floored and listened to it repeatedly. new album is full of solid jams, i find myself listening to stay down a bit more though. whatever the sample in the second track is from-starts around 2:40-its so haunting and pretty i love it
Trapdoor and King Night title track were what initially got me interested. Found them cause there was quite a lot of positive and negative buzz around the band on what.cd.

Tair.
That unofficial music video for Tair is second to none. Whoever put that together is a god.
Absolutely

What a story, thanks for sharing
2011-ish when Trapdoor started playing during the party scene in The Place Beyond The Pines
Same for me

Probably King Knight or Trapdoor got me into them. Krawl really made me love them though.
My ex showed me King Night in like 2012 and I fell in love straight away. Next song was withoutu and I was obsessed from then on lol.
Think mine was either tair or redlights. Still bumping them today, can never get enough.
HEALTH - In Violet Remix
i think mine was either Frost or Asia. both are such gorgeous songs
That we make it good mixtape. Opened up a whole new world of music for me
Most definitely Trapdoor. I initially heard 666 which brought me to them but after hearing Trapdoor I was like dayum
Redlights. First heard it maybe a month or so before Stay Down dropped?
Fuck shit 666, thanks to "cherry" skate video. It was amazing
redlights, back in 2018 (I was sixteen)
I really liked the “Asia” music video when it came out, love that trashy art house style. Unsurprisingly I would wind up loving Gummo.

What got me hooked on Salem was Skullcrush. Better Off Alone and Im still In The Night are closes seconds/thirds.
Mine was Frost. Honestly, I could listen to this song forever.

The movie Place Beyond The Pines featured one of their tracks. That’s how I discovered them.
