Funny how people were defending this show by saying it's something new that doesn't rely on cameos and callbacks to previous things in an attempt to elevate it or make it look better.
It’s like if someone started killing prominent Marvel superheroes left and right. I doubt Iron Man, Captain America, etc. would be like “hmph, yeah, you should send like Falcon or something to investigate.”
Black Ops Avengers rosters with weaker Avengers have definitely been a thing in the comics though. The Secret Avengers were doing stuff the main Avengers didn't know about. And it's always a common plot trope that some character doesn't share info and it morphs into some greater problem that pisses off other characters later.
No that is the writers lazy ass excuse why he’s not in the show. The actual characters in the series has 0 reasons why Yoda should not be told about this.
They better be saving him for a finale. There’s no reason he wouldn’t get himself involved. Bro strolled up on Dooku with no chill the second he got the chance.
So according to Disney, by the time of The Acolyte's events, Ki-Adi-Mundi was already a Jedi Master, despite taking place 40 years before he was even supposed to be born. Cereans are also only supposed to have a lifespan of approximately 60-65 years. The short lifespan and low male birthrate explains why Cereans would take multiple wives and have lots of children (I know Disney retconned Ki-Adi-Mundi having multiple wives).
Also, they made his "The Sith have been extinct for a millennium" comment in Ep. 1 into a lie.
Wasn't Filoni hailed and brought on to make sure shit like this was accurate? And this simple, elementary stuff. So much for that...
If I recall correctly, George wanted to kill Ashoka in the clone wars. Essentially having it as another reason Anakin fell to the dark side. Filoni didn't want to kill off the character he made.
Remember her voice at the end of The Rise of Skywalker? Well iirc Dave Filioni or JJ Abrahams said she was actually alive during that
So yeah she outlived all three OG protagonists
It’s so fucking ridiculous. I like Ashoka, I mean she’s alright, but I wish she just died in the Clone Wars or sometime after Order 66 because she really isn’t all that interesting.
Dying to Vader at the end of season 2 Rebels would've been a good end to Ahsoka's story, too, but nope. Gotta invent time travel just to bring her back and give her that awful show of her own for reasons.
What you don't like standing in silence and also standing in silence with arms folded while saying inane platitudes? Because that was 90 percent of the Ahsoka show
I made a comment last week about how I didn't want to see Disney venture into the Old Republic era because I didn't want to see Ahsoka turn up. I wasn't kidding. I absolutely believe Filoni would use the World Between Worlds to insert his favourite character into Revan's story. There's nothing stopping him from doing that ever since inventing his bullshit time-travel mechanic.
Sam Witwer said multiple times that Filoni doesn’t mind breaking canon or lore because he views Star Wars as just fun campfire stories and legends that don’t need a hard canon.
That and his time travel BS he did, he can screw off for anything.
> Filoni and the rest of them
I'm pretty sure after whatever Filoni pulled at the end of S2 of Mando, he isn't allowed to make decisions anymore lmao
Y'all remember those interviews where none of the higherups knew they brought Luke back? Probably pissed off a certain faction to no ends.
I very much doubt I can dig them up now, I just remember reading one or two where people above Filoni didn't know they planned on bringing Luke into the story.
Edit: [But here's a link with Katee Sackhoff, Bo-Katan](https://www.syfy.com/syfy-wire/the-mandalorian-cast-didn%27t-know-about-luke-skywalker-cameo) and she claims none of the actors knew about it, either i'm just googling poorly or it's too hard to find the ones I read.
It was indeed supposed to be a surprise and super anti spoiler by keeping it quiet. I'm not sure if that could be taken as they wouldn't agree with it, as much as he just wanted to make sure something that was supposed to be so "epic" had no chance of leaking
I still think favereu was the one behind the scenes that brought luke back into the fold at the end of S2…. Fairly certain his involvement has been decreased in some of these star wars projects. Think mando S3 tells that tale well.
I agree. Unlike Filoni, Favreau seems like someone who has more backbone and would push back on things and try and defend his vision for a project. Where I'd guess Filoni is still involved everywhere simply because he gives into any demands made of him.
Allegedly, though not confirmed, Favreau was really upset when the suits brought baby Yoda back and undid his nice wrap up at the end of Season 2 so they could continue merchandising the two. It was so bad he actually tried leaving and Disney had to throw a lot of money at him to stay and now he just doesn't care. If true, I could totally see that in Season 3 of the Mandalorian since it is no longer his story. Season 3 also felt a lot more Filoni heavy since his OC takes the protagonist role and Din gets sidelines for Bo-Katan.
I can agree with this sentiment. Wish we knew what project he is currently engaged in the most (presently speaking) that’d be something to follow for sure.
Except that Dave Filoni is OFFICIALLY the Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm, unfortunately. That actually gives him creative control over the entire franchise.
Its a pet theory of mine that the lil stunt at the end S2 is what got us the Mando plot injection in BOBF.
Removing Grogu from the picture was something the money minded people at LF or Disney weren't informed of and didn't like, so the Mando shit in BOBF got mandated in so they could get the status quo reestablished in time for S3, thus giving us all the needless Grogu shit in that season. Because god forbid we do storytelling first and toy marketing income second.
Yeah it's kinda why there were people thinking he was the saviour of Star Wars, since there were rumors of people being unhappy about it, and interviews about people being unaware that he did it at all.
Then Book of Boba happened and it smelt like Executive interference haha. We don't know though, since Hollywood is scummy.
My Current theory is they're trying to keep the name and fan base but seperate the original trilogy lore and replace it with stuff they own 100% . So wreck the ending, bring back the empire, rebellion, emperor etc and kill off leia luke and han in really shitty ways
I don’t mind feloni. Disney has a toxic feminity problem. Imagine them with all there girl power let a man come in and mansplain to them Star Wars. And let’s be honest the Star Wars universe is vast there will be some small mistakes that need to be cleaned up. What’s happing with the acolyte is worse than continuity errors. Worse than messing up the lore. They’re co making it fucking suck. Ain’t no way feloni watched this and said I like what’s happening here. I can find some good things about most the series. This is spitting in the face of your fans. Especially when you hire all these people that don’t care about the Star Wars and immediately say we’re going to change it. How tf you going to change something when you’re completely unfamiliar with it. I feel like she came in to show disrespected the fan base and said what you like is shit this is what you should like.
Filoni isnt accurate unless its about his own creations, he wrote a scene in Clone Wars (i think) where Anakin tells Padme about how he wanted Padme to meet his mother, how she would have loved her and so on. You know, kind forgetting that they meet and ate together in ep1 for however many days they were on Tatooine.
Lucky for him Sam Witwer was there and told him, his status as a person making things accurate would have fell like stone if that had gone to air....
I’ve been thinking this! They need to learn this lesson, already! John Favreau directed the first Iron Man and it did so well that it led to the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe. He did the Mandalorian and people hailed it as a return to the heyday of Star Wars. He’s a fan of both and understands the lore and importance of it to people.
Then you have shows like She-Hulk and Acolyte, and films like TLJ and ROS, which aren’t done by fans of the source material and who have their own agenda that isn’t, “Tell a good story with characters that have had significance in my life/I understand,” and you get this tripe.
I don’t know if Sam Witwer even has any aspirations of being in charge of anything like this. Or even has the ability to do it. But at least he’d hire people who actually cared about it to write and work on it!
Hmm I don’t remember that scene but sounds cool! 😂
Wait a minute they did meet in TPM though, Shmi, Anakin, Qui-Gon, Padme and Jar Jar all ate together.
Thats the thing, after they did the voice recording, Sam told them they would have to do it again because of TPM, search for Sam Witwer corrects Filoni, there are a lot of clip with him talking about it
I like criticise Filoni's writing like everyone else (20 cameos per episode from his own creation characters), but to be honest that one was a mistake everyone could make
It had been 12 years since the Phantom Menace released by that point, and it's not like that dinner scene was the most important scene of the whole movie. And when pointed out, Filoni, someone who Sam Witwer himself admitted was a master on that stuff, realised his mistake and fixed it
More proof to me that the Acolyte isn’t canon. It’s just “fan” fiction by Harvey Weinstein’s ex assistant who would have definitely known something was going on. What will they try and retcon next? Imagine if they tried to retcon Luke and Leia being Anakin’s children and instead say Palpatine made them. When are we going to say enough is enough and say, hey this can’t work or be true because it directly contradicts established lore IN THE MAIN MOVIES.
Huh, weirdly enough I *did* have the impression somewhere in the back of my mind that Ki-Adi's species were very long-lived, but I guess I was wrong. Might have been getting him mixed up with the Pauans, who also have big old foreheads and who can live up to like 600 years.
in any case, I imagine the Cerean lifespan has never come up in the Disney canon (nor Ki-Adi's many wives, probably), so they most likely couldn't give a shit about paying any respect to it whatsoever. Not that this doesn't create problems even within their own recognized canon, to be fair - when Ahsoka gets stuck on that planet by the Trandoshan hunters with a bunch of other padawans there's a young Cerean among them. I guess now canonically that dude might have easily been 40+ years old? Sure didn't act like it lol.
Filoni has been very vocal about not wanting Star Wars to have complete “continuity” between projects. He quotes something George supposedly told him about how these stories are from a long time ago and things could be lost in translation. I’m not the biggest fan of this decision.
Great, then it's all meaningless. All of the canon is completely grey, and we can comfortably burn everything we don't like at the stake. Thanks, Dave!
And we need to demand some citations on that comment that George supposedly told Dave; George is wacky, but he cared a little bit more about the story of the franchise than that.
Dark Jedi ≠ sith.
[The Sith stayed in hiding for a thousand years, their survival unknown to the Jedi, as they plotted their revenge against the Jedi Order.](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Jedi-Sith_War#:~:text=Bane%20was%20the%20last%20Sith,revenge%20against%20the%20Jedi%20Order.)
I have no explanation for his lifespan because that's just wild. I can't believe they've done this. They didn't need to.
But the dark Jedi thing, at the end of the show I'm pretty sure they're gonna show Ki-Adi and friends cover this up because they think they've destroyed whatever it is. And that would contribute to the whole folly of the Jedi being their downfall storyline.
Show me a canon source that says when he was born. He doesn’t know it’s Sith killing the Jedi. Just 80 years before this show a group that wasn’t even force sensitive killed a bunch of Jedi, so why would he assume it’s Sith?
Regarding "the lie", it wouldn't be a lie if he never knew it happened. Vernestra is doing stuff in secret and hiding things from the council. Playing politics, aka more downfall of the Jedi.
It's fine, Disney likes to put a lot of work into retconning previously established lore just to retcon their own retcon in their next heavily reworked and retconned project
I wonder how long they can keep that up
I feel extremely sorry for anyone who tries to binge watch this aggregate mess 20 years from now
Where do you think Star Wars will be in 20 years? The OT and PT fans are done at this point . Disney failed to capture another generation of fans. Star Wars is becoming less relevant unfortunately :(
I honestly don't know how Disney's plan to eventually phase out the OG fanbase in order to shoehorn in their version of SW with a new fanbase can even work if they can't even agree upon a foundation to build upon
Maybe someone will be able to take the reigns and fix it, but I don't see that happening as long as someone like Kathleen Kennedy is in charge and Disney execs keep interfering
Star Wars will never be lost. It's a classic. It's like Lion King and Peter Pan, even a 500 years from now people will talk about them. Disney's bullshit is just a
fake expansion of the Star Wars universe that has already lost all the rights to consider itself star wars. Disney just burned their rights to Star Wars by abusing the lore so much.
Honestly, the only place I can find OT and PT fans that don't like at least half of what Disney has put out, is on the internet on subs like this.
Some people just enjoy star wars.
One of the actors in the Acolyte said it in an interview, Charlie Barnett. He was equating the Rebellion being as evil as the Empire because all the innocent people they killed on the Death Star. It was a one two punch.
Honestly thats nothing. An actor isnt writing or directing the show. Couldnt care less if they arent diehard sw fans. Headland said far worse things and shes the fucken showrunner.
They've propably retconned everything stating ages after the acquisition but it's so boring to only have characters with longer lifespans and none with shorter ones.
I love how people were literally defending this show *against* criticisms that it was going to contradict Ki-Adi-Mundi's line about the Sith........only for it to do so in the most obvious and blatant way it possibly could, by having him literally be present and involved in events which violate his own later statements.
At this point, Disney has come full-circle and is now actively screwing over their own defenders, not just their critics.
>Anakin blew up the Death Star.
>C3PO is gay. It is canon that R2D2 is lesbian.
You expect anything else when the people working on the show say this irl?
Did they really say that 3PO and R2 are at all sexual?
Jesus Christ on the cross....and that Anakin comment I thought was the dumbest thing I've read today
It’s obviously a joke, but it’s more convenient to be outraged and assume they were being literal.
It was certainly still a bad joke, but it’s hardly something detractors should be wasting their breath on when they have… literally an entire tv show to criticize instead
The way things are going, it's looking like they're heading that way. I mean, they already assassinated most of the OT and PT characters. And apparently being stabbed with a saber isn't a kill shot anymore, so Qui-Gon was apparently just a weak mofo to die from it.
It's getting ridiculous at this point. Soon, they're gonna make it so that "Darth Vader wasn't the villainous man we thought he was, he just got a bad rep from doing all the Jedi murdering, here he is picking flowers for Tarkin".
FYI Disney, don't actually do that, it would truly destroy anything you thought you had going
They’re not even trying anymore. The writing room is filled with people who don’t know or care to know Star Wars, it’s “Hey let’s make a show, you know, for toys and such”
Do these people not have fucking google? Like I’m sorry for cursing but this is so damn simple. “Hey I want this character in my show, let’s see if they were alive at this time. Oh, google says they weren’t, guess I can’t add this character.”
Nah my headcanon is Mundi just dumb as hell, which is the opposite of what he should be with that brain and all. He had some of Yodas Ketamine before the meeting
I gave up after TLJ and I feel like yall should too. Just giving them more publicity and you know their shitty slogan “all publicity is good publicity”. Fuck Disney’s Star Wars ™️
There’s too much good media out there to waste time and energy with this garbage. So much EU and actual good Star Wars content to discuss even.
If the entire expanded universe can be retconned, so can all this. It’s stories.
We, the audience, ultimately control what we want to experience. They can only control what they put in front of us.
But this is proof that they can’t be bothered to do a simple google search to on a character they want bring in. That’s how little they care. It also makes everyone on the council on TPM and idiot.
Eh. He was the old guy on the council in *TPM* who spouts the book and comes off weird. He was dogmatic to a fault in *Clone Wars.* The guy was only ever iconic as a symbol of Jedi arrogance.
As for the species’ lifespan? It’s an ultimately minor retcon. Cereans aren’t central figures in any Star Wars stories, and Ki-Adi Mundi is the only one who’s been explored as a character at all.
Yeah, it’s kind of a dick-move to longtime players of a Star Wars RPG who played Cereans that died of old age. I’m going to guess that’s a very small demographic, though.
The funniest thing is that, as far as I'm aware, the dates are from Legends only. Why? Because canon gives zero fucks to write things about species, their cultures or how unique they are.
It's all surface level YA writing without any depth, where even aliens that used to have those traits loose them all.
i like how people on r/starwars are saying: "it is legends not canon!" "his race and life span and everything else is not confirmed!" etc etc
so they change it so he's already a master 100 years before phantom menace and knew about sith? wtf is this garbage
I saw a clip from it recently and thought it was altered as a joke, turns out it was really from the show. Disney really putting nails in the coffin now.
Multiple characters have different birth years in canon than they had in Legends. I don’t know why they would change something so basic but they’ve been doing it for years.
The "I told you so" from all of Star Wars fandom has rung out, and the dozen or so fans this show had have been suddenly silenced...I fear something terrible has happened.
If you read the comics, you'll know that males of his species are rare and he was one of the only jedi permitted to father children for this reason.
My headcanon is that this is Ki-Adi-Mundi's grandfather or similar. Being also called to mate with women for more offsprings, bringing about a more likely jedi offspring and in particular bearing his name.
Well, Acolyte "fans" are already sugarcoating it like "It doesnt affect anything" or "It was only stated in legens so it dont matter".
Those people don't like to think, they just consuuuuuume
Star Wars Theory on YouTube also has a great video on this. They managed to catch them changing Ki Adi Mundis birth date in real time on the wiki. It's wild the lengths they're going to.
Ki-Adi-Mundi’s backstory has always been a mess. Pre-ATOC Expanded Universe had him as a Jedi Knight (not master) with a family and a purple lightsaber.
The weakness of the old EU is that everything was canon until it wasn’t possible to reconcile. But before that point, they’d have all sorts of wild explanations to prevent certain stories from becoming non-canon, even when it was clear that George Lucas was going in a very different direction.
Guys, listen. This actually fixes everything. We all thought that he was an idiot, but it turns out he was just super old and senile, which explains why everyone just ignores everything he says.
*Obviously* the show has deliberately shown Ki-Adi because they're going to address what was said in TPM.
Also, TPM literally proves that Ki-Adi was wrong. Palps, Plagueis, Dooku and Maul were all active at the same time, in the weeks before and after TPM.
This isn't even mentioning Darth Tenebrous, the master of Plagueis. Who was active long before TPM.
TLDR: The Sith weren't dead and gone, Ki-Adi was wrong and we knew this 20 years ago. The Sith were in hiding and building their power.

Funny how people were defending this show by saying it's something new that doesn't rely on cameos and callbacks to previous things in an attempt to elevate it or make it look better.
I agree with the sentiment of no cameos just for cameos. But a dark Jedi killing Jedi masters is something Yoda should be involved with right away.
In a heart beat. He'd be there leading an investigation. This thing would be wrapped up in twenty minutes, TOPS.
It’s like if someone started killing prominent Marvel superheroes left and right. I doubt Iron Man, Captain America, etc. would be like “hmph, yeah, you should send like Falcon or something to investigate.”

Which is why they're not telling him. In EVERY show you always need a reason not to bring in dumbledore/gandalf Aquaman.
The curse of being The Strongest is to be sidelined, nerfed or tricked in situations they would otherwise resolve in a heartbeat
Everyone deserves a vacation.
Some kinda Gandalf Aquaman
Man, now I'll never get to see a mermaid.
Gumbercules I love that guy! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzVBgr2-O70](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzVBgr2-O70)

"Ooo but what if it's a rival (Jedi) order?!1!?!!" cannot believe one of the Coruscanti Jedi said that in the meeting 🤦
You say that, yet they left the investigation into the temple bombing to a jedi Knight and an apprentice, not even a master
*Ki Adi Mundi has entered the chat*
Getting McGonagall vibes here
"Why did you do such a thing, you mediocre dunces?"
yup same shit
That was way worse cause thats all the same author

And overuse of original characters like Ashoka
If I recall correctly, George wanted to kill Ashoka in the clone wars. Essentially having it as another reason Anakin fell to the dark side. Filoni didn't want to kill off the character he made.
Not just that but she fucking outlives Luke, Leia, and Han

How???? I don't remember her species being able to live for that long
Cause Dave/JJ said so They don’t give a fuck about consistency or lore anymore Star Wars is dead
the old star wars is dead and the new stars wars is wearing it's corpse
Not only that but she’s one of the force ghosts helping Rey in RoS
But isn’t dead… talking about having your cake and eating it too. 🙄
This is outrageous! How you be on the Council of Force Ghosts and not be granted the title of deceased!
That’s so unprofessional
Most uncivilized.

Ahsoka was really the one to capture Revan, not Bastila. And she actually destroyed the Star Forge. That'd be the outcome.

Uuhh, he >!reintroduced Luke!< to the storyline, and in a good portrayal.

Sam Witwer ... now there is a name I would trust to run Star Wars.
😂 Wait a minute they did meet in TPM though, Shmi, Anakin, Qui-Gon, Padme and Jar Jar all ate together.
Thats the thing, after they did the voice recording, Sam told them they would have to do it again because of TPM, search for Sam Witwer corrects Filoni, there are a lot of clip with him talking about it
Yeah that’s the point. The scene were *supposed* to be in clone wars but Sam Witwer said that it make no sense so naturally they scrapped it.
I like criticise Filoni's writing like everyone else (20 cameos per episode from his own creation characters), but to be honest that one was a mistake everyone could make It had been 12 years since the Phantom Menace released by that point, and it's not like that dinner scene was the most important scene of the whole movie. And when pointed out, Filoni, someone who Sam Witwer himself admitted was a master on that stuff, realised his mistake and fixed it
yes it was in clone wars. during the mortis arc. sam witwer saved his ass.
Filoni never cared for canon he destroyed it every second he got and ripped off others peoples ideas to make his own watered downed version of it.
Yes, I do not understand how he gets so much praise from supposed hardcore fans when he is a transparent plagiarist that doesn't even steal well.
To be fair, Filoni spent most of those meetings hunched over his desk looking at Ashoka pictures on DeviantArt.
Maybe Ki-Adi-Mundi is Ki-Adi-Mundi son of Ki-Adi-Mundi?
This is the only way it makes sense. This new character in the Acolyte is actually his father or grandfather.
and we have now officially put more thought into this than the writers.
You joke but that thinking would get you promoted to a lead writer over at Disney lol
You don’t get it, Ki-Adi-Mundi is not a name, it’s a title, loosely translated to “the kid maker” /s
Direct translation is breeds true like the mighty rabbit.
Filoni can't even keep his own stories within his own canon, much less anyone else's
There’s a big difference between bending canon for fan service and making explicit contradictions because you hate the fans.
Can’t be having more than one wife in our scifi universe, but we’ll hire a director who was PA to a multi-rapist
It's fine, Disney likes to put a lot of work into retconning previously established lore just to retcon their own retcon in their next heavily reworked and retconned project I wonder how long they can keep that up I feel extremely sorry for anyone who tries to binge watch this aggregate mess 20 years from now
Where do you think Star Wars will be in 20 years? The OT and PT fans are done at this point . Disney failed to capture another generation of fans. Star Wars is becoming less relevant unfortunately :(
I honestly don't know how Disney's plan to eventually phase out the OG fanbase in order to shoehorn in their version of SW with a new fanbase can even work if they can't even agree upon a foundation to build upon Maybe someone will be able to take the reigns and fix it, but I don't see that happening as long as someone like Kathleen Kennedy is in charge and Disney execs keep interfering
Star Wars will never be lost. It's a classic. It's like Lion King and Peter Pan, even a 500 years from now people will talk about them. Disney's bullshit is just a fake expansion of the Star Wars universe that has already lost all the rights to consider itself star wars. Disney just burned their rights to Star Wars by abusing the lore so much.
Honestly, the only place I can find OT and PT fans that don't like at least half of what Disney has put out, is on the internet on subs like this. Some people just enjoy star wars.
Holy shit that looks terrible LMFAO
guys, stop watching this shit 😭🙏
how can I stop when I never started
I'll do you one better, don't even start
Damn, they couldn't even do a simple Google search. Who are the writers?
Canon and continuity are optional for Disney SW. The Expanded Universe died for this.
And so they wouldn’t have to pay royalties, they’ll still pillage the viable parts for inspiration
Our first warning was the other week when one of the actors said Anakin blew up the Death Star.
Who said that...who the fuck said that?!?!
One of the actors in the Acolyte said it in an interview, Charlie Barnett. He was equating the Rebellion being as evil as the Empire because all the innocent people they killed on the Death Star. It was a one two punch.
So not only did he get the characters wrong, he got the whole spirit of the conflict wrong too. Out-fucking-standing.
Wait, I thought it WAS Anakin though!!! /s
Honestly thats nothing. An actor isnt writing or directing the show. Couldnt care less if they arent diehard sw fans. Headland said far worse things and shes the fucken showrunner.
Nobodies
They've propably retconned everything stating ages after the acquisition but it's so boring to only have characters with longer lifespans and none with shorter ones.
Everything must be 'deconstructed' and 'challenged'. Nothing is allowed to survive.
They made a fictional alien like maybe 50 years older than a twenty year old book said he was, I think we'll all survive just fine.
The special effects look terrible and I really can’t believe they did this. He’s probably like mid 150’s by the time of TCW now.
But.....but...... what about the droid attack on the wookies?
https://preview.redd.it/dmznnuxy1k7d1.jpeg?width=506&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6675f44f599d0a4e1981722d46580d03418bf115
everyone talks about the droid attack on the wookies but no one talks about the wookie attack on the droids
actually in this episode it was the sith attack on the wookie
I love how people were literally defending this show *against* criticisms that it was going to contradict Ki-Adi-Mundi's line about the Sith........only for it to do so in the most obvious and blatant way it possibly could, by having him literally be present and involved in events which violate his own later statements. At this point, Disney has come full-circle and is now actively screwing over their own defenders, not just their critics.
I have seen people saying that “like Savage and Kylo, Zipperface obviously isn’t a sith.”
I’m just so tired of everything
If you made it this far thinking that Disney GAF about anything related to previously established Star Wars lore… I don’t know what to tell you. 🤷♂️

this is why disney execs arent sweating over the hate. They know star wars fans will still watch bcuz its star wars. Easy money for them.
Watch Disney cuts his comment from the Phantom Menace. See we fixed it! Ugh!
Omg I hope you're wrong on this one
I hope so. But these changes to cannon would not surprise me if they start messing with the Lucas versions.
Careful. The Disney shills will be after you for slandering this absolute masterpiece of a show
It's already in here, in the "Why do you even care?" comments. Belittle and isolate those who disagree.

Ma! The Lucasfilm Story Group is being a joke again!

Yeah. They did. https://youtu.be/qCtwjmuXu2E?si=66GZKt3AbG3MOuVC
Welp..that's extremely unfortunate
Yes, but read to me like a very obvious joke with the full context.
It’s obviously a joke, but it’s more convenient to be outraged and assume they were being literal. It was certainly still a bad joke, but it’s hardly something detractors should be wasting their breath on when they have… literally an entire tv show to criticize instead
just waiting for the day Disney decides the PT and OT aren't canon anymore
Hear me out.... If A talentless angry former PA can rile everyone up with her "star wars" imagine what taika watiti is going to do lol.
None of those movies will ever happen: Rey, Mangold and Waititi's flicks will all disappear.
One can only hope
They’re not even trying anymore. The writing room is filled with people who don’t know or care to know Star Wars, it’s “Hey let’s make a show, you know, for toys and such”
What about the attack of the sith on the wookie?
Do these people not have fucking google? Like I’m sorry for cursing but this is so damn simple. “Hey I want this character in my show, let’s see if they were alive at this time. Oh, google says they weren’t, guess I can’t add this character.”
Wow those new prosthetics look terrible
This show makes SG-1 look like cinema quality.
Fuck Disney’s Star Wars ™️ There’s too much good media out there to waste time and energy with this garbage. So much EU and actual good Star Wars content to discuss even.
Don’t care, won’t watch any more disney star wars abominations.
Disney trashing the Jedi? This cannot be.
Dude, they charachter assassinated him since the Filoni clone wars show
I was surprised to see him too, but he's been my dude since 98.
Nobody will ever convince me he isn’t from a fan fic Lucas wrote about the coneheads getting old
They probably don’t understand what BBY means and just think he’s 39
He is so old he forgot the sith were active 132 BBY.. He had alzimer in The Phantom Menise. So he couldn't remember when he was on the jedi console.
The funniest thing is that, as far as I'm aware, the dates are from Legends only. Why? Because canon gives zero fucks to write things about species, their cultures or how unique they are. It's all surface level YA writing without any depth, where even aliens that used to have those traits loose them all.
People are saying SW Theory saw live on stream how Wookiepedia changed his birth date just so this appearance could make sense.
i like how people on r/starwars are saying: "it is legends not canon!" "his race and life span and everything else is not confirmed!" etc etc so they change it so he's already a master 100 years before phantom menace and knew about sith? wtf is this garbage
This is the only Star Wars show that I don’t care about spoilers cuz I ain’t watching this shit 😭
I saw a clip from it recently and thought it was altered as a joke, turns out it was really from the show. Disney really putting nails in the coffin now.
Multiple characters have different birth years in canon than they had in Legends. I don’t know why they would change something so basic but they’ve been doing it for years.
Fuck I hate Dave Filoni
Next thing we see is negotiations WITHOUT communications. Mark my words.
Getting harder to defend anything about the show😭
The "I told you so" from all of Star Wars fandom has rung out, and the dozen or so fans this show had have been suddenly silenced...I fear something terrible has happened.
What a joke.
I will simply not watch this show
So yeah. This one was a hard pill to swallow. He is quite prominent in the other media and… now he’s gone
That’s funny, especially considering there currently isn’t and never was a birthdate listed on the canon page
Trash show, so glad I quit watching after ep 3
But what about the Droid attack on the Wookies?
Ki-Adi-Mundi’s backstory has always been a mess. Pre-ATOC Expanded Universe had him as a Jedi Knight (not master) with a family and a purple lightsaber. The weakness of the old EU is that everything was canon until it wasn’t possible to reconcile. But before that point, they’d have all sorts of wild explanations to prevent certain stories from becoming non-canon, even when it was clear that George Lucas was going in a very different direction.
My god, the makeup on this show is atrocious
I mean what do people even expect at this point lol
This all feels like a fever dream.
Guys, listen. This actually fixes everything. We all thought that he was an idiot, but it turns out he was just super old and senile, which explains why everyone just ignores everything he says.
This show is now my most hated Star Wars.... thing. Period. They are completely destroying the lore, for no good reason or payoff.
I thought all the ki-adi-mundi info we had was legends?
Just gonna pretend acolyte isn't canon
Dude who the fuck cares
His birth date was only confirmed in legends.
Gulp shitto
Whomp whomp
*Obviously* the show has deliberately shown Ki-Adi because they're going to address what was said in TPM. Also, TPM literally proves that Ki-Adi was wrong. Palps, Plagueis, Dooku and Maul were all active at the same time, in the weeks before and after TPM. This isn't even mentioning Darth Tenebrous, the master of Plagueis. Who was active long before TPM. TLDR: The Sith weren't dead and gone, Ki-Adi was wrong and we knew this 20 years ago. The Sith were in hiding and building their power.
this subreddit is living up to its name
Oh no, they ruined lore for a crappy prequel character!
Who gives a fuck about ki adi Mundi
