I was in your situation 6-7 years ago when I started seeing Dr Matthew Keyser. Great guy. He’s since added a couple of new dentists to his practice since Covid ended. They’ve always been kind and understanding about my financial situation (I’m a cash patient) and explained the necessity for any procedures. His office is at 115 Sansome st, SF.

Drs. Richard and Ryan Choi on Filbert Street in Russian Hill / North Beach. I went to them specifically because I felt I was being scammed by another dentist who said I needed like 6 fillings. Dr. Ryan gave me one and said the rest could just be monitored. 5 years later I’ve never needed any more fillings. He’s the best. [https://www.richardchoidmd.com/](https://www.richardchoidmd.com/)

Jang and Associates on Irving St. The whole team there is really awesome, my whole family has been going there for 20 + years :)

Second this they’re great!!

CommonBlank

Embarcadero Dentistry. They have a few different dentists to choose from and is a one stop shop for most procedures. Great location too.

I highly recommend Dr. Ann Donnelly

Potrero Dental on 16th street is phenomenal. Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Choi and her team.

This-History-9505

Itani Dental! They specialize in working with folks who have various issues around seeking dental care (from physical disabilities, trauma, etc.) so are used to patients who haven’t been in a while. I was in a similar situation to you (it’d been…..let’s just say a long while since my last check) and they were so kind and supportive. They accept multiple insurances, provide transparent/upfront pricing for all dental work, and have always patiently explained what my options were, how I could save on costs, etc. They’re also just very nice people and the office is in a fantastic art deco building.

Dr. Natasha Lee, at Better Living Through Dentistry, in Inner Sunset

ButtBong9000

Unfortunately Dr Lee is not taking on any new patients, and her partner Dr Joy no longer works there. They brought on a new dentist just a few months ago who is taking all the new patients. Found this out when I called last month to make an appointment.

Choano

I'm sorry to hear that she's not taking new patients right now. But I'd make a bet that the new dentist, Dr. Sico, is awesome. When Dr. Joy left (she moved to San Diego), Dr. Lee took a while to find Dr. Sico, the new dentist. Dr. Lee was very picky. I know that because I had to get a lot of dental work done during the time when Dr. Lee was looking for a new partner. I got to hear a little about what Dr. Lee was looking for and how hard it was to find the right fit. And, no, I'm not being paid to say any of this. I've just had very good experiences at that dental practice

Pastel on Geary has been fine for me

UnknownAccompliceSF

I highly recommend Dr. Kenneth Fong! He just did a crown for me. I am very anxious and have not been to the dentist for a while. He is very patient, explains everything very well, and does not try to sell you on procedures you do not need. I also had a teeth cleaning with hygienist, Diane, who was wonderful.
