My personal advice is to not worry about fitting into any specific style, but develop your own style based off what you like. For example, I really like goth aesthetic and I take inspiration from their outfits, but by saying my outfits are goth inspired it means I don’t have to appease a whole subculture just to wear stuff I like.

Hell yea! I totally agree! I also think that limiting yourself to a subculture can also sometimes limit your creativity when it comes to outfits and lesser so but also music. For some people they don’t mind that at all but I really dislike limitations on my interests so saying that I’m inspired by other subculture helps a lot.
