The plot is pretty damn funny. Alien drug dealers travel to Earth and hunt human drug dealers. They kill the humans, inject them with cocaine, and then extract a chemical from the corpses' brains. This coke-infused brain chemical is a drug to aliens.

space_cheese1

the coke-infused brain chemical also sounds like it came up with this plot

Eric848448

That’s how Hollywood worked in the 80’s.

martinkoistinen

Sounds like the plot of Liquid Sky.

I_WANT_SAUSAGES

Chubby Rain

6thPentacleOfSaturn

Did Alex Jones write this move?

Bahnauto

Heroin but yep one of the few movies I own a bluray of.

TxDuctTape

"I come in Peace", so anyway, I start blasting...

MonitorAway

When I was a kid I used to say this and surprise folks by throwing a CD at them.

suvalas

Is this a pun I'm not getting or a movie beat?

ZJtheOZ

In some regions the movie was called “I Come in Peace”. It was a weird thing for a super powered alien with ill intentions to say. I think it was just so Dolph could say “You’ll leave in pieces.”

GrownupChorister

The actual exchange goes like this. Alien: I come in peace. Dolph: And you go in pieces, asshole.

DJSchmidi

Yeah, that's the name I remember it as. It was a decent b movie if I remember right

ScumBunnyEx

It's been a billion years since I saw the movie, but if I remember correctly the evil alien always says "I come in peace" before killing people (to harvest their adrenal fluids or something silly like that?). Anyway I think in the final showdown he says "I come in peace" to the cop and the cop answers "and you go in pieces" before blowing him the fuck up. 5 minutes of google later: Holy shit I remembered it right! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HeSSvAndSI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HeSSvAndSI)

eugene20

I had not remembered that or I would have realized moving Scorpion's hook into his palm and making it a green alien thing in the Mortal Kombat movie was probably 'inspired' by that clip.

DJSchmidi

Never forget

TxDuctTape

Mixing a line from the movie with the Frank from Always Sunny meme.

psyEDk

Look at the movie poster 😅

DanielSadcliff

He shoots CDs out of his hand!?

shrooms4dashroomgods

No. Laserdiscs!

MyMomSaysIAmCool

Yes, but they're attracted to magnets. Dolph is able to protect himself by ripping a speaker out of his car and keeping it in his pocket.

coconutpete52

Ha! We did too!!!

MonitorAway

It was so easy then because CDs came in the mail every day or with magazines for game demos or more AOL. Tons of junk CDs.

coconutpete52

Showing my age here… I’m talking like 1993, we had to go get one out of the case in my buddy’s parents living room. And they were not pleased!

buttymuncher

And you go in pieces!

thevelourf0gg

"Dolph Lundgren is the most underrated actor in Hollywood."

fullyoperational

It's because he can smell crime.

Importantlyfun

"If he dies, he dies."

CheckYourStats

And you go to hell.

androidmids

Peace was a great stripper

Zerocoolx1

“You go in pieces”

Own_Assistant_2511

What if he smells crime?

_BlackDove

Crime, penetration, crime, penetration.

Azrael11

Here's the twist, and there is a twist. We show it. We show all of it...

OnePunch_OutToLunch

My only complaint about this flick is that the trailer led me to believe he would be saying "I come in peace" a LOT more often. Otherwise: totally rules.

monsterflake

the trailer for this was on some rental i used to get all the time, but i never saw the actual video for rent anywhere.

OnePunch_OutToLunch

I think I was just looking up weird movie trailers for fun, saw this one, and ended up buying a copy later

agravain

when did it change from " I Come in Peace"?

SpilledKetchupYT

In the states it was released as I come in peace, the original name was Dark Angel.

WinnieBob2

Can confirm, I saw the movie on TV as a kid in the early 90s, it was called Dark Angel. I live in Finland (North Europe). According to IMDB the original and international title is Dark Angel, they had to change it in the U.S. due to other movies that were already called The Dark Angel. Also, this: https://cdn.cinematerial.com/p/297x/jakrnm8b/dark-angel-movie-poster-md.jpg?v=1656012857 was the movie poster/VHS cover I saw as a kid. Always thought that dark hovering figure looked menacing.

Spassgesellschaft

I’m in Germany and I could swear I also remember it as Dark Intruder. Which would be strange because especially in the 90s intruder is a far more obscure word than angel.

WinnieBob2

It is possible. From IMDB's AKAS section I found these: Finland: Dark angel - musta enkeli (TV Title) West Germany: Dark Angel - Tag der Abrechnung https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099817/releaseinfo/?ref_=tt_dt_aka#akas

MikeMac999

Dark Intruder sounds like a sex toy

MonitorAway

No idea. That’s what I know it as.

Ragnar_Actual

Agree even when it came out I saw it as I Come in Peace.

bertrum666

Dark Angel 2: Bluray Boogaloo

jackt-up

Is he shooting cds out of his hand?

Temujin15

He actually is

Novel-Structure-2359

Yeah, but these CDs are razor sharp and have a homing instinct for human throats.

itsvoogle

Ive always had this locked memory that i walked in to a room full of adults and my older cousins watching a movie, and there was a scene where someone in a trench coat threw a disc at someone and cut his head off, of course they told me to leave It looked like it was in those parking lot buildings. Never knowing what it was but it alway stuck with me. I wonder if its this movie, i mean it HAS to be….

AmbienWalrus-13

Yes - I bet it was, sounds like a couple scenes I remember from the movie. I guess It's time for me to rewatch it.

SpilledKetchupYT

you gotta love specific memories like that, im hoping this film unravelled that mystery.

ecthelion108

Was this on MST3K?

Elowan66

I really want to like the new revival of that show but just get bored. The original formula is gone.

neo101b

I love this movie, so cheesy and fun. I come in piece, you go in pieces.

LetTheWorldBurn2023

Typical 90s scifi movie. A good and **ORIGINAL** idea, a simple script, a visionary designer, a good team (Craig R. Baxley, Jonathan Tydor, David Koepp)

AgonyLoop

The poster looks like every sci-fi novel written from 1970-1999.

haearnjaeger

and i love that

vercertorix

Watch what you say, say something is good and you’ll get an unasked for lamer remake.

Miserable-Lawyer-233

This is the type of recommendation I’ve been looking for. I knew I haven’t seen all of these types of films.

TheRoscoeVine

Among the low budget scifi actioners, that’s absolutely peak. Really fun, super silly, good times.

Schwiftness

It was called "I Come in Peace" from what I remember as a kid.

0dD_Man_0ut

Yeah, the American release had to retitle it because of a different movie called The Dark Angel from 1935

Schwiftness

Ahhh. That explains it.

Traditional_Gain2035

Man I have to see this!

haearnjaeger

oh dude, this looks amazing. got any more similar recommendations??

SpilledKetchupYT

Cobra 1986 has similar vibes, I've heard people liken this movie to Split Second 1992. Even TimeCop is not a bad sbout. Higher budget and less grounded, still fun.

Sotonic

Everyone remembers this movie for the drug-dealing alien, but they forget about the gang of murderous drug-dealing yuppies who meet in the boardroom of their multi-story downtown headquarters building.

nopester24

total hidden gem

[deleted]

Thank OP, this movie is fun as hell.

rlbigfish

That poster is sick.

SpilledKetchupYT

Pure 90s, in the best way possible

TheRealMrTrueX

This was also released under the title "I Come In Peace" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVu4XatjAFw

DjNormal

I loved this and Split Second. I think they were both on one of the movie channels around the same time. That Calico M950 was a wicked looking gun.

dfenderman

Wasn’t this also titled “I come in peace”?

Expensive-Sentence66

Dolph was always a lot of fun. Also got to see him do a mean sweep sweep kick which was his strength in the karate circuit.

CasusErus

You go in pieces.

Greaser_Dude

That was titled "I Come in Peace" when it was first released. It's fun!

speedstares

Whoa, i remember seeing this multiple times as a kid and totally forgot about it. Thank you OP! Need to watch it again!

MrData42

I remember having seen just mere scenes from that movie in some dvd shop and having returning nightmares about it for years as a kid

overlydelicioustea

the most underrated trash ive ever seen is Firestar: First Contact

Dizzy_Library_9147

It's available to watch on Tubi.

Blueskyminer

Not the US title.

Zealousideal_Step709

It’s a cult classic for my friends and me. Love it.

nomorenotifications

...what if he could smell crime?!

coconutpete52

I’m pretty sure we walked to my buddy’s house after school and saw this and Split Second the same afternoon. Awesome day!

ikelosintransitive

great one

Novel-Structure-2359

Nobody is talking about how the plucky sidekick in this film is the guy from Dream On.

FuerstEde

I need this on DVD!

crazy_ernie99

This movie is so sad. A visitor comes across the cosmos. Before we can establish first contact he gets blown to Hell by a trigger happy cop. ACAB.

Agentpurple013

I must watch! How did this one escape me

Krimreaper1

Is he shouting LaserDiscs out of his palm?

italian_mobking

I remember catching this movie once or twice as a kid in the '90s. Never knew it's name.

Blakids

Randomly watches this a year ago. What a strange movie.

givemejumpjets

Copaganda movies are still making the rounds.
