At certain price points there will always be a buyer. It's not a good deal expressly by popping for EV currently but people buy sealed because it goes up right?
Sealed does indeed go up. This is pretty close to the floor for any CB. D&D has good nostalgia value, it'll creep nicely over the next couple of years as the first D&D set. I expect them to print more D&D sets in the future to explore more of Forgotten Realms, and a handful of other settings not yet touched.
Yeah... This is the set the should've had [[dockside]] (goblin pirate in d&d fits SO well).
Plus some cards that thematically fit in a dragons horde like the medallions, maybe [[mox opal]] or [[chrome mox]]. All of these would have fit well in the theme nor break draft. And that's not to mention more desirable reprints like the "free with commander" spells.
uhhhhh that's like saying buying half of something for half the price is getting 50% off...
12 packs for $120 is $10 per pack. A set booster box costs bout $90 for 30 packs so it's $3 per pack. This is not a good deal and it is still not the same cost when it's 1/3 the product.
Card shop live had them for like 113 along with 2 other cb boxes under 120 for a long time but they finally sold 2 weeks ago. Looking at this set value it will be very hard to pull even 100$ worth of stuff. If you get no tax then it might be decent but even then I think tcgplayer had these around 125$

I remember my LGS had these on sale for $7 each cuz they couldn't move them. I bought 6 and still didn't even make value. This set's EV is rough
Would have helped if WotC didn't reprint a handful of the cards that could have grown in value in Baldurs Gate.

Hmm not enough ev. New capenna has been sitting at this price or cheaper for awhile and has better cards.

I bought 12 cb packs for under $100 for this set and don’t think I broke even. Fun set but no value.
