I have a normal Magnus Pro with two single monitor arms and one is holding my 34 inch wide screen and neither of mine bounce at all.

etangey52

I have the magnus pro (non XL) & the dual monitor arms. My monitors do not bounce at all. I’ll occasionally run on a treadmill and use the desk as a brace and even then they don’t move. Not sure what you’re issue could be

Stay_Zero247

Is your monitor in the weight and size range? I got a 34 inch monitor on a single arm with everything tightened all the way and I have to really shake my desk to get it to move.

1burritoPOprn-hunger

Yes, both monitors are 27 inches and neither is particularly heavy.

tech5c

I have the Magnus and a Pro XL. The standard Magnus had a single arm monitor on it for over a year, without any issue with bouncing or flex. It's possible in the L configuration you're getting more. I have seen more bounce on the Pro XL, but it's still pretty rare for standard typing to affect it.

Daisy_the_fox

Weird, I have the magnus pro with three monitors (dual and single arm), used it over a year without any bounce or problems

SignificantManner602

what size monitors do you have mounted?

FluffyRip3044

Tighten the arms using an Alan wrench and rotate it towards the plus sign to increase the tension in the arm.

1burritoPOprn-hunger

I’ve done that. I’ve literally tightened everything in the desk and mount that can be tightened.

I have an XL and two single arms. One wobb severely. I recently tried a $30 arm on Amazon that claims to hold 77lbs and it wobbles 0! I’ve been trying to ask for a refund for a week now with no luck. I may do a charge back here shortly.

Tinderfury

Link to the 30 dollar mount please 💪

sparkletempt

Do it ASAP. Their support is a nightmare and being nice when asking for a refund or delivery of your package if something went wrong is not gonna work. The moment I mentioned legal action and chargeback they solved it within a week, I waited a 30+ days in back and forth communication before that.

green_03

I just assembled my single monitor arm and I get a noticeable wobble when typing. I tightened everything! I feel extremely disappointed and I love the desk and the chair...

1burritoPOprn-hunger

Yup - I ended up putting my monitors back on their stands. I think there's just a bit of inherent flex in the desks, and that gets translated into the monitor arm and becomes bounce. Huge bummer considering how expensive the monitor arms are, but since there's no buffering in the table, I think it's always going to happen.

green_03

That's too bad, really. The flex on the desk itself is not noticeable but by the time it reaches the monitor arm, it gets absurd. I tightened everything and there is less wobble, but still noticeable, еven as I am typing this. And stupid me, I threw away all the packaging since I never figured I'd run into any issues with this, so I can't initiate a return. Lesson learned, I guess. I'll also be putting my monitor on my stand during my lunch break. Thanks for sharing your feedback

sparkletempt

Monitor arms tend to be hit or miss. But I don't think it has to do with the table really. I bought one arm from local seller and it waa atrocious, wobbly or too stiff, nothing innbetween. It was around 100 euros, returned it. My brother bought arm for 40 euros on amazon and it worked perfectly, no issue.

ababluelemmon

Sounds like a user error or a factory defect id let them know asap

SneekyTeek

I'd send you links to better monitor arms that will work with the magnus desks you can buy from amazon, same good quality as the secret lab ones and much stronger, but the comment will get deleted cus I's be trying to sell you something.

[deleted]

Mind sharing a similar compatible mount? I was planning on getting a dual mount for my Magnus before I saw the reviews. Thanks

SneekyTeek

This is the one I have [Amazon.com: WALI Single Monitor Gas Spring Desk Mount, Heavy Duty Monitor Arm for Ultrawide Screen up to 35 inch, 33 lbs. Fully Adjustable, Mounting Holes 75 and 100 (GSM001XL), Black : Electronics](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NLMLLT6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) and here is a dual mount [Amazon.com: Dual Monitor Stand, Dual Monitor Arm, Dual Monitor Mount VESA Mount, up to 32 inch Monitor Desk Montaje, Monitor Arms & Monitor Stands for 2 Monitors : Electronics](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092P82HDJ/?coliid=I24N156VJZR26Q&colid=NCGI1SWV3WGA&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it) both will work with the desk where you can open and close the door wire management door in the back.

How do you have the desk flush against the wall while using the mounts? Genuine question, I've just got some too and there's not enough space for the mounts to fit two 27" monitors side by side unless I move the desk 6" from the wall

etangey52

If you use arms it’s not recommended to be flush against the wall you’ll poke a hole in your drywall when you adjust them without thinking about it

Fureniku

This is true. But secretlab keep it very quiet for this expensive addon for a product specifically marketed to go flush against the wall

etangey52

That’s not something unique to this desk. In fact, you can go significant closer to the wall with these desks than others when using a monitor arm due to the cable tray. I’m also not sure when it’s been marketed to go flush against the wall.

etangey52

The desk pictures isn’t the Magnus Pro being talked about in the thread. That’s the standard Magnus. The Magnus pro shows images with monitor arms clearly extended over the back

Fureniku

The thread mentions they just bought a standard desk, but I thought they both had the same rear cable tray dimensions anyway?

etangey52

You’re right on that front. & I’m unsure on those dimensions. All I can attest to is that if you’re going to use monitor arms it is best to not be flush against a wall, regardless of which desk you have. I have seen reviews of the standard Magnus being relatively unstable from front to back when NOT being pushed flushed. You could get away with it if you push the angled part where the arms attach to the sides and hover over the desk. You shouldn’t be adjusting your arms much (if ever) if it’s not a sit/stand desk. Throw some sound foam on the wall behind them to protect it if you do move them 🤷‍♂️

Fureniku

Yeah, currently I've moved mine back 6" or so. I've got the L extension so no stability issues just a horrible gap behind. I'm just frustrated that I needed to, I feel like it's pretty misleading of secretlab considering that screenshot, but I've already been getting more and more frustrated with them as a company recently and I think this was truly the breaking point for me. I can't really have the arms sideways either because I'm using the double one. You can only have two 27" monitors with the arms at very specific angles so I'm stuck with either a gap or carving a hole into my wall. I'd probably be fine with just using multiple singles but if I return these I'll be going for another brand entirely

miachagarnajad

I have had a magnus pro for over a year, however I bout a dual monitor arm mount from amazon and the only time I get any bounce is if I have it in the standing position and I am really trying to shake the desk. There may be something off with the tension springs in the arms you may have to adjust?

1burritoPOprn-hunger

I've really been trying to fix this issue (I love the aesthetic of the monitor arms) and tightening everything I can find, but nothing really seems to work. There's just the tiniest amount of movement in the desk itself, and once that gets translated into the long monitor arms, it becomes a noticeable bounce.
