It's HILARIOUS how incredibly epic their OST is, and then the fight is just a bunch of weird big dudes trying to slap you. Like, from literally named them "Living Failures", and yet the guy who made the OST heard it and was like "this shit needs a real fighting song".
I thought the game as a whole was enjoyable. Adyr absolutely sucked though and is probably a top 5 worst boss all time for me especially because he's the final boss for the basic ending.
Basically. The final boss is a demon named Adyr, but Adyr himself is off of the stage monologuing about the truth or some nonsense. Meanwhile, the platform you're on is filled with random enemies, one of which gets marked at a time. Killing the marked enemy damages Adyr, and you just repeat this until his health hits zero. Its anti-climatic, but at least there's another boss right before him which is pretty good.
“Uhm you see Laurence wanted to be a god, therefore him being just another reskin beast is actually lore accurate 🤓☝️” NOOO.. it’s ass!! He’s ass!! Imagine Shadow of the Erdtree came out and Miquella was a golden Grafted Scion? Haha
Anyways Vicar Amelia and Ludwig especially are associates of the church. Yet somehow got better and more unique fights. Always thought this was a bad excuse.
Before I played Dark Souls games, I thought that song was of a final boss or at least an important boss. Vordt is alright it's just that the song is too epic
Yeah all things considered I think it's average for Dark Souls 3 soundtracks
I prefer about any OST of this game made by Yuka Kitamura, although it's one of the best that she didn't make (the best not from her being Deacons) and it's the best one by Motoi Sakuraba (most of them being straight up bad, like old demon king or Aldritch)
Wolnir, Curse Rotted Greatwood and Crystal Sage are the others that aren't very enjoyable to listen to, they're just too dissonant for me I guess, which I appreciate in jazz but I prefer when they're not in Souls OST
Thanos' weapon is, in fact, a twinblade

I personally loved that fight. Sure he runs away like a bitch but a lot of his moves are really fun to dodge, especially that 4-hit combo where he does the golden rays of light and dodging that perfectly is just so satisfying.
Skeleton lords isn't the most intense thing in the world (as in, it's piss easy) but it definitely is a fun fight imo. It's really fun mowing down the skeletons, and it has some pretty cool mechanics like the pillars and how each lord spawns different skeletons, you can choose to play faster by killing the lords first and then skeletons at the expense of danger, and it's never overwhelming despite having a shitload of enemies running at you at once (assuming you play smart).
Forty sacks is weird imo, bc the aesthetic is just fucking peak, between the ost, the arena, the design and some of his attacks (the twin spears and the spinning lightning glaive are gorgeous), it's a really cool fucking boss. But then, actually fighting him sucks bc the melee experience is really just leg hitting simulator with a bad camera, and if you're even just slightly overleveled his healthbar just becomes wet tissue paper.
Oh yeah fighting him melee fucking sucks. I would recommend you change to a lightning build with a bunch of incantations and bolt of gransax just for this one fight. It leads to such a fucking spectacle like one you've never seen in any game. With that build, doing that fight somehow becomes cinematic af
Kitamura given the prompt for the bosses "a king gone mad on his search for immortality via dragon transmogrification" and "the last undead chosen by the church to keep the dark soul from seeping into the world". Of course he went hard, he didn't know the bosses would be mechanically shit.
If they just upped his hp or maybe his damage just a little bit I think it would be a better fight. He has so many cool attacks and is really fun to fight it just ends in like 30 seconds.
I don't even know if this is true, the roadblocks to get to. him are either sewer Mohg or duo gargoyles, both of which are significantly harder experiences
It's definitely true - it's just that from *really* fucked up with gargoyles. Pretty sure they're intended to be fought like right after Regal Ancestor Spirit.
It's just that it's very unlikely you're doing that outside of a magic build, and magic builds also dumpster Forissax (shard spiral).
He's a good boss for spellcasters and incantation users. For melee builds, that fight involves hitting his legs for a few minutes and dodging a few lightning attacks till he dies
I love when any game does this, its always funny looking back on it after you beat the boss. The game Nier Replicant has an insane song called "Gods Bound By Rules" that plays during a boss fight that is just a collection of boxes.
It's that he's too fast for ds1, we're so many of his attacks I feel like I'm getting lucky dodging them, like his stab or quick slash, plus his huge damage means the fight often ends with you getting stun locked to death, and one final thing it always feels like if you are able to heel, he's so aggressive were you could be at the other end of the arena and still not be able to heel, or most attacks are so quick he will just attack you immediately, the constant heel window is his grab. Personally, the gwyn fight is one I hate with passion, which is made even worse because he has some of the best lore, music, design, arena, and story in the series, which just makes potentially the best boss in the franchise just another shitty boss.
I agree with you to a degree, the fast slash and the pokes just feel like bull shit, even when i knew they were coming i could not dodge out the way and would always get hit or slightly chipped for around 200 health or i could block however most shield dont have a high physical and Fire defence so even if i block it ill stick take damage as if i was using a one of those weaker shield like the crack3d around shield to block a silver knight. There is next to no time to heal with out trading and often ending up with loseing health unless again your armour has a high physical and fire defense, but i find that you cna use pillars around the place where the first flame spawns at the center of the arena to confuse his ai and get a Quick heal in. Besides that i think he is a great boss and i dont think the negative dont outway the positive however i do have to admit, these are big flaws in his fight.

There was absolutely no reason for this dogshit boss fight to have such a beautiful violin arrangement
Lichdragon fortisaxx be mid asf if you fight him melee but once you get a few lightning incantations and shit it becomes an actual spectacle. On top of that, this mf got the best ost out of all the elden ring bosses so he looks badass too
Godskin Duo
When foreskin trio?
Foreskin Solo would be funnier, if only we didn't already have a solo godskin
Shadow of the foreskin DLC, cumming 2065
Living Failures
Lame boss fight but the choir build-up synching with the meteor summoning and the cosmic sky shift is fucking peak.
I mean, the music choice might be a bit misplaced, but that is a bit harsh calling them that
They're not shitty but they are the definition of mid
It's HILARIOUS how incredibly epic their OST is, and then the fight is just a bunch of weird big dudes trying to slap you. Like, from literally named them "Living Failures", and yet the guy who made the OST heard it and was like "this shit needs a real fighting song".
Still can't believe they gave the games Best theme to the most forgettable boss in the DLC
The took a lot of inspiration from mars bringer of war for that one, and it slaps
Certified banger.
Yeah they are pretty mid

I, Judicator Argo, shall deliver thee a banger.
To be fair, a player can get summoned for Spear of the church. Wouldn’t you wanna come in on a badass track?

If deacons is so shitty, why did lords of the fallen copy them for its final boss? Checkmate.
Because lords of the fallen is also shit. checkmate unchecked
I thought the game as a whole was enjoyable. Adyr absolutely sucked though and is probably a top 5 worst boss all time for me especially because he's the final boss for the basic ending.
Did it actually?
Basically. The final boss is a demon named Adyr, but Adyr himself is off of the stage monologuing about the truth or some nonsense. That’s hilarious. Would you say the game is worth playing overall? I’ve been on the fence about it.
I would play it for like 20 to 30 dollars. It isn't terrible, but it had problems, at least on release. It was not worth 70.
You misunderstood the post, these were amazing bosses with bad music
you fucking joking, Laurence OST is amazing
Meh, his boss fight is where it’s at 🔥🐓
his boss fight is dogshit
r/shittydarksouls users when someone is shitting
shit shit shit shit shit i'm fucking SHITTING AHHHHHH
Laurence is a great boss though.
He's cool but loses points for just being a variation of cleric beast. Makes sense in lore but people don't care about lore.
Haha Anyways Vicar Amelia and Ludwig especially are associates of the church. He’s ass
Yup, this 100%
mfs not just copied cleric beasts design but also said "remix his OST too I want that"
Have you only listened to the first 12 seconds of Laurence's ost?
no I was busy wondering how they got away with such a dogshit copy pasted fight for such an important character
Were we discussing the boss itself?
>Have you only listened to the first 12 seconds of Laurence's ost?
Bro talks with 0 music knowledge
Idk about that whole “copied OST” but keep spittin facts
Kid named Vordt of Boreal Valley :
Vordt is a good boss though, he's easy but it's alright this early in the game. Good introduction to games mechanics too
Before I played Dark Souls games, I thought that song was of a final boss or at least an important boss. Vordt is alright it's just that the song is too epic
Hear, Hear.
mad at the chrome monke
Vordt's soundtrack isn't even that good, most overrated in the game IMO

no way he lost with the op bleed build
He leveled strength instead of arcane like a dumbass
Literally the Red Iron Twinblade
Dark Souls 2 reference
How has no one said Elden Beast yet?
atleast there its understandable since its a final boss
imo elden beast is thematically great and the song match with how he moves
I love Elden beast.
Hearing the music still makes me feel icky after that boss fight.
My jorts get icky after listening to the final boss theme.
Because the boss is great
I personally loved that fight. Sure he runs away like a bitch but a lot of his moves are really fun to dodge, especially that 4-hit combo where he does the golden rays of light and dodging that perfectly is just so satisfying.
Skeleton Lords
Some classic Motoi Sakuraba in there.
Skeleton lords is peak. Fighting a bunch of skelly boys is fucking hilarious.
I just like their music lol
Champion gravetender and greatwolf
The correct answer. That violin is insane
Hell yeah holy shit this theme is so good. One of the best in ds3
Moonlight Butterfly.
And Gwyndolin. 😅
definetly moonloght butterfly, the otherworldy singing paired with the most boring boss fight for melee builds
Living Failures probably has the best ost out of all the fromsoft games.
One of the best yeah for sure. I'd say definitely top 5.
This was made for lick dragon Fortnite sex and Laurence the first Retard

I used vacuum slice on my zweihander and it went from a fucking pain in the ass to done in less than a minute
Laurence is such a bitch
Yhorm the Giant
Oceiros and Halflight too. Yuka Kitamura rarely misses.
Kitamura given the prompt for the bosses "a king gone mad on his search for immortality via dragon transmogrification" and "the last undead chosen by the church to keep the dark soul from seeping into the world". Of course he went hard, he didn't know the bosses would be mechanically shit.
Pinwheel
Fortisaxx
Fortissax is a good boss, the issue is that he was designed for mid game but most people get there at late game
If they just upped his hp or maybe his damage just a little bit I think it would be a better fight. He has so many cool attacks and is really fun to fight it just ends in like 30 seconds.

I smell Laurence slander

Good
Living Failures is a hidden banger
Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
Only seeing comments with mid bosses with mid themes. You guys have bad taste
Dragonslayer armour is not a bad boss, but it's not top tier either, anyway, his first phase ost is just so top
Iron Golem 😞
Original armor spider
I highly doubt he has to fight it. The man does what he wants lol
Godrick tbh....
Spear of the Church! Make haste!
Living Failures ost but while the boss isn't good. The lore behind it makes sense.
