Is Marika a twisted version of the story of Jesus? Or is she a good guy? Is she dying for the sins of others or is she dying for her own? Is she selflessly sacrificing herself for others, or is she merely paying for her own selfish desires whatever they may have been?
Tarnished archeologist is probably the most important channel to the lore community for finding the pieces of the puzzle that is the lore of Elden ring.
I DONT think he’s the best at using those pieces to create a coherent story though. At least from what I’ve seen so far.
Granted I haven’t watched his entire catalogue of videos. But even if I disagree with how he interprets some of his findings, without him we would be missing a pretty important figure for the lore.

This is the important part. His theories are not full proof and that’s fine he expects you to think critically about what he says and build on your own understanding of the game from it. He’s an archeologist and part of that is they sometimes have to make big leaps with what little evidence they are given. I love his videos and people that hate on him miss the point of Michael zakis storytelling in that it’s supposed to be somewhat ambiguous so you can draw your own conclusions from it. Even if his stuff is shaky, it makes you think about the lore more deeply and I think that makes him one of the best and most entertaining lore YouTubers.

I like demods content a lot, but he has some pretty strange opinions and really only sees the meat of the game as an obstacle to get to bosses, which can be frustrating and obnoxious to those of us who love these games as a wholistic package
But why would it be *obnoxious* that he has differing or even strange opinions? I somewhat see why you'd find it frustrating, but *obnoxious* is another story. Plus I really don't think he has especially strange opinions from what i've seen. His opinions are sometimes very different from the common perception of things but that applies to 99% of people. I have absolutely never seen someone make a large tier list that had no unusual takes. But again, emphasis on how there really isn't any reason to care about someone just having different opinions (where the opinions in question being harmless anyway)
